Egypt in Free Falll

Today’s blaring headline in The Times of Israel:

Two dead, including US citizen, in clashes across Egypt: Israeli analyst: Egypt is in a free fall; 70 people injured, protesters storm 3 Muslim Brotherhood offices, torch ruling party headquarters in Alexandria. Two people are dead and over 70 people injured across Egypt Friday in clashes between supporters and opponents of the country’s Islamist president.

The article goes on to quote Israel’s Channel 2 News “Egypt is in a free fall,” commented Channel 2′s Arab affairs analyst Ehud Ya’ari Friday evening.”

And this is only Friday night. The big anti-government protests are scheduled for Sunday, the first anniversary of Mohammed Morsi, Egypt’s President from the ranks of the Muslim Brotherhood. There are calls for millions of Egyptians to protest all over the country. Will this be a reversal of the Arab Spring revolution? No, it will not. My opinion is based on Isaiah 19, which I call the Arab Spring prophecy. I have written much about it already. Here is a link to the eight-step timeline in my May 8, 2013 commentary. That blog also has links to my previous posts on the same subject.

All of this is clarified by simply reading Isaiah 19. Please read it prayerfully, as a watchman on the wall. Here are just the first four verses.

The burden against Egypt.

Behold, Yehovah rides on a swift cloud,

And will come into Egypt;

The idols of Egypt will totter at His presence,

And the heart of Egypt will melt in its midst.

“I will set Egyptians against Egyptians;

Everyone will fight against his brother,

And everyone against his neighbor,

City against city, kingdom against kingdom.

The spirit of Egypt will fail in its midst;

I will destroy their counsel,

And they will consult the idols and the charmers,

The mediums and the sorcerers.

And the Egyptians I will give

Into the hand of a cruel master,

And a fierce king will rule over them,”

Says the Lord, Yehovah of hosts. Isaiah 19:1-4

Annex the West Bank

There is a time for everything under the sun, according to King Solomon:

To everything there is a season, A time for every purpose under heaven. Ecclesiastes 3:1

It is time to annex Judea and Samaria which the world calls the West Bank. The Oslo accords have failed. The two-state plan has failed. The Middle East is on fire with the Muslim Brotherhood taking over another state every few months. Arab citizens of Israel are the only Arabs enjoying freedom, peace and liberty. Most Palestinians would be far better off as citizens of Israel. The fumbling obstinate dictatorship of Abbas is no solution. And if he achieved Palestinian statehood, he would be immediately overthrown by Hamas. It is time for Israel to act proactively. Many Israeli’s are ready for a bold solution. Even leaders in the government and the Knesset are speaking openly about annexation.

Deputy Transportation Minister MK Tzipi Hotovely (Likud) said on Sunday that it was time that the Israeli government take steps to annex Judea and Samaria, even if it comes with the price of giving citizenship to Arabs residing in these areas. Speaking to Arutz Sheva, Hotovely said that offering citizenship to Palestinian Authority Arabs would be a small price pay for ending the status quo which brings international criticism of Israel, viewed as an “occupier” in Judea and Samaria. Bayit Yehudi head, Economics Minister Naftali Bennett, said Monday that the idea of establishing a Palestinian state has reached a dead end and should be forsaken. “Never in the history of Israel has so much energy been invested in something so pointless,” Bennett said at a conference on the Jewish settlers in Judea and Samaria and their depiction in the media. (INN 6/17/2013,)

Op-Ed: Annexation: Should Israel Make Her Move Now? by Ron Jager in Israel National News. In recent weeks and months, public leaders and leading journalists affiliated with the settlement movement have called for annexing and incorporating all of Judea and Samaria into Israel. In response to the chaos and weakness of the Arab nations surrounding Israel and the preoccupation of the Western world with the ongoing genocide in Syria, they claim that now is the time to be proactive and go on the offensive and do what will be inevitably done anyway probably under less favorable conditions for Israel. At the same time as these discussions President Bill Clinton visited Israel this week in what I can only call a flashback to 1993. He is lost in the past of his dream of the Oslo accords. Under the headline: Clinton: Israel Must Make Peace or Disappear, Breitbart.com reported: In a speech that will no doubt incentivize Palestinians to continue their campaign of terror and warfare against Israel, former President Bill Clinton told Israel that it would have to make peace with the Palestinians if it wanted to remain Jewish and democratic. Even as far back as April 2011, the idea of annexation was gaining momentum as seen in this story about two members of Knesset and a bill proposing annexation.

MK Danon preparing bills to annex West Bank, repeal Oslo Accords; move intended to convince EU to stop UN vote on Palestinian statehood. Ideas about annexing parts of the West Bank that until recently were considered extreme have been gaining traction in the Knesset in recent weeks as the Palestinian Authority continues threatening to declare a state unilaterally in September. National Infrastructures Minister Uzi Landau raised the idea at Israel Beiteinu’s convention in Jerusalem two weeks ago. (Jerusalem Post 4/26/2011)

It is time for Israel to annex Judea and Samaria politically, demographically and most important prophetically.

We’ve Come This Far by Faith

I met my wife, Doreen, in Bible College in the ’60s beginning a life of faith together in marriage June 11, 1967. That date may ring a bell for you. It was the end of the miraculous Six Day War, Israel’s amazing victory. My life verse came into focus in those days from the book of Hebrews’ epic “faith chapter”.

But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him. Hebrews 11:6

Faith has two necessary parts. Until then, I thought it was enough to believe in God. Yet, this verse declares more; extending faith’s definition. Faith requires believing that God is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him. This is God’s character. He rewards our pursuit of Him. If you don’t believe that, you simply do not have Biblical faith. The rest of Hebrews 11 is a profound testimonial to the point. Another verse confirms that believing “in” God is not enough. Demons know God exists, but that certainly does not save them!

You believe that there is one God. You do well. Even the demons believe–and tremble! But do you want to know, O foolish man, that faith without works is dead? James 2:19-20

The “works” of faith spoken here is not good deeds, but the second part of faith: GOD IS A REWARDER!

Back at Berkshire Christian College, our favorite chorus had these words: We’ve come this far by faith, leaning on the Lord. Trusting in His Holy Word, we’ve come this far by faith, woe-oh-o-oh, woe-oh-o-oh, shadows around me, we’ve come this far by faith.

If you have read any of my five published books, you know I end every chapter with the phrase: GOD IS FAITHFUL! Let me explain why I do that. We do not only believe in God’s existence, we believe in His fully demonstrated character to respond to the cry of any person looking for Him. That character trait distinguishes Yehovah, the God of the Bible (of both Christians and Jews), from all false gods, pretenders and usurpers.

I challenge you to put Him to the test. No matter what you are going through, He is there. He will respond. Call to Him. He is faithful, even when we are not.

As we pray for Israel, we need to apply our faith. We also need to pray for their faith, surrounded by hostile enemies with some flying the Palestinian flag in the midst of God’s land. Pray that Israeli leaders and people will call on the name of the living God for their deliverance from those who would drive them into the sea.

Why Elisha Beyond Elijah?

What comes after the “days of Elijah?” There has been a great song around for the last decade celebrating Elijah, but he was the forerunner of something greater. We have been in the season of an Elijah anointing, but are now entering the season of Elisha. What do I mean by this? It is obviously important to me, since we call our ministry: Elisha Vision Ministries. But the revelation is in the name, Elisha, and his extraordinary ability to “see” in the supernatural dimension. What did he see that Elijah missed? Why was Elijah depressed after defeating the prophets of Baal on Mt. Carmel? And why is it so critical for us in 2013? Here is a little background.

Bible readers are familiar with the basic story of Elijah and Elisha, but there is much more revealed, simply from their Hebrew names. Elijah literally means “God is Yehovah.” El, or Elohim, is a somewhat generic reference to God and is sometimes used for other gods. Jah, or Yah (no “j” in Hebrew), is the short form of Yehovah, the personal name of the God of Israel, the God of the Bible. Elisha literally means “God is Yeshua.” The word is “salvation” but also just happens to be the name of the Son of God.

Here is an excerpt from my book, Generation LIFE.

“Elisha caught the mantle falling down as Elijah departed. Elisha returned to the banks of the Jordan River they had crossed just a little earlier. When Elijah had swung his mantle, the river stopped flowing, and they crossed on dry ground. Now Elisha was back at the River when he swung the mantle and cried out loud:

Then he took the mantle of Elijah that had fallen from him, and struck the water, and said, “Where is Yehovah God of Elijah?” And when he also had struck the water, it was divided this way and that; and Elisha crossed over. 2 Kings 2:13-14

Elisha would not be satisfied with Elijah’s mantle as some relic or memory. It never was about Elijah, it was about Yehovah. The mantle was the connection, like the branch connects to the vine. But Elisha wanted the LIFE! He wanted the relationship Elijah had with Yehovah. He did not cry out for Elijah. He called for the God of Elijah. There was much work ahead and Elisha knew it was beyond his ability. He must connect to the Source! That is where we are today. This last section of the book is about being fruitful in the worst season this planet will ever see. We will never be functional without the Father’s faithful covenant love, the High Priestly intercession of Yeshua, and the authority and power of the Holy Spirit within us to literally manifest the God of Elijah.” (End excerpt)

We discover Elijah again in the New Testament when Jesus identifies John the Baptist as Elijah.

And His disciples asked Him, saying, “Why then do the scribes say that Elijah must come first?” Jesus answered and said to them, “Indeed, Elijah is coming first and will restore all things. But I say to you that Elijah has come already, and they did not know him but did to him whatever they wished. Likewise the Son of Man is also about to suffer at their hands.” Then the disciples understood that He spoke to them of John the Baptist . Matthew 17:10-13

If John fulfilled Elijah, then we again see Jesus as Elisha. So back to my headline today. Why Elisha beyond Elijah? We are no longer in the preparation stage of Elijah and John. All my life the people of God have been “preparing.” That was good, but that season is over! It is now time to function. To rephrase a cliché: Now is the time for all good men to come to the aid of the KINGDOM! Or, to put it another way: Game on!

The scandals in Washington these days only confirm how late the hour. Make sure you have plenty of oil (Holy Spirit) in your lamp. Make sure the wick is trimmed. This is not a call to hunker down and hide, but rather the opposite. It is time wake up, stand up and speak up for righteousness.

Syria: the Shia/Sunni War

The “uncivil” civil war in Syria is clearly breaking down along Shia and Sunni lines. This is the latest in battles among fellow Muslims that go back nearly 1,500 years to the very beginnings of Islam. After Mohammed died, Islam’s first division was a fight for control between Shiite Muslims and Sunni Muslims. Today’s fighting has left 120,000 Syrians dead with 1.5 million refugees. Yet it is the same division of Muslims. Some believe another 100,000 could die in the next year alone. Hezbollah has openly joined with the Shia government of Bashar Assad. Consider this update from Israel National News (6-7-2-13).

The split between Shiites and Sunnis is deepening and the war in Syria is threatening the rest of the Muslim world. The rebels belong to Sunni Islam while the regime is Alawite, a branch of Shiism supported by Iran and assisted by fighters from the Iranian Revolutionary Guards, units from the Shiite group Hizbullah and Shiite volunteers from Iraq.

Rebels in Deir ez-Zor proclaimed war against the Shiites following their defeat in the battle in Al-Qusayr. In a video posted to YouTube they announce the launch of a sectarian war, while chanting “Death to the Shia” and recalling the 637 The Battle of al-Qadisiyyah, when Muslim Arab forces defeated the Persians.

It is a fact that Muslims have killed more Muslims since 9/11 than infidels. Yet, the God of Israel loves Muslims and desires that they be saved. Here is an excerpt from my new book, SIMPLE ISLAM:

The most important point of this entire book is that Jesus died for Muslims. God loves Muslims along with the whole world. Muslims are people. Islam is the religious/political system that enslaves them. We love the Muslim people, but reject Islam. From its inception it has had a violent and bloody history. It started with Muhammad’s murders of many. Then, when he died, there began a series of bloody battles that produced the first major split of Islam into the two largest “denominations” of Sunni and Shia. History provides context for today’s advance of Islam.

While we are at war with the system of Islam, we can love Muslims to life in Jesus. My hope is that this book will clarify this path. The Bible is clear that Yehovah will judge the wicked, but His heart is to show mercy to all who turn (repent) from their wickedness.

Islamism Spreading Polio

Rarely do I quote so liberally from another blog, but this information from Daniel Pipes at Middle East Forum is so shocking you need to read it for yourself.

The polio disease was on the verge of eradication when Ibrahim Datti Ahmed, president of the Supreme Council for Sharia in Nigeria and a physician, suggested at about this time in 2003 that the vaccination program in his country was part of a Western conspiracy to render Muslim children infertile. His call for an end to the polio immunization campaign touched a nerve and spread to other Muslim religious leaders in Nigeria, causing the vaccination process to slow down and incidences of the disease to pick up.

By now, Ahmed’s paranoia has sent the new wave of polio from Nigeria to Muslim populations in at least 17 other African countries and 6 Asian countries:

Africa: Angola, Benin, Botswana, Burkina Faso, Cameroon, Chad, Central African Republic, Egypt, Ghana, Guinea, Ivory Coast, Kenya, Mali, Niger, Somalia, Sudan, and Togo.

Asia: Afghanistan, India, Indonesia, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, and Yemen.

Hang in There

Do you remember this poster? I always liked it as an encouragement to press on and never give up. This week my mind keeps singing a little song we sang many times in our Clearwater, Florida church over the 24 years we were there.

“He who began a good work in you, He who began a good work in you, will be faithful to complete it. He’ll be faithful to complete it. He who started the work will be faithful to complete it in you!”

It comes directly from Philippians 1:6.

Being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ.

It reminds me that God chose me; He found me. He started it. I fought Him and He won! I have walked with Him now for 50 years and I say to you: “He is faithful, even when I am not.”

I am still incomplete. He has not finished with me yet; but He will. Yehovah God, my Father started something in me all those years ago and He will complete me. As Paul testified in the above verse, so do I. “I am confident of this very thing.”

Everyone knows that Jesus was a carpenter for at least 15 years or so, but did you know He was a finish carpenter? That is why I am confident. My Father has the best finish carpenter in the universe assigned to finish what Father started. No worries.

I don’t mean to say that I have already achieved these things or that I have already reached perfection. But I press on to possess that perfection for which Christ Jesus first possessed me. No, dear brothers and sisters, I have not achieved it, but I focus on this one thing: Forgetting the past and looking forward to what lies ahead, I press on to reach the end of the race and receive the heavenly prize for which God, through Christ Jesus, is calling us. Philippians 3:12-14 NLT

The Lord gave me this word today as an exhortation to you. No matter what happens in this earthly geo-political world, God is faithful. He loves us and will finish what He started.

Coming to a TEA Party Rally Near You

HomelandSecurity-1024x462-620x279 OK, so I am already on the Muslim list, the conservative list, and the Christian Zionist list. It is time to weigh in on the TEA Party. Look at the picture. Have you seen one of these vehicles yet? Chilling. I can see them at the airports or borders, but at TEA Party rallies? It would make sense to see them at OWS (Occupation Wall Street) protests where people are stabbed, raped and abused. But the TEA Party?

An article on TheBlaze.com shows six pictures of these vehicles last Tuesday at TEA Party rallies in four states: Missouri, Illinois, Florida and Indiana. One picture even shows armed DHS agents! Are the TEA parties even remotely connected in any way to the 9/11 attack on the World Trade Center towers with passenger airplanes? Why is Homeland Security being used to “chill” dissent from grassroots Americans who disagree with government policies?

Here are two pertinent quotes from Thomas Jefferson:

When the people fear the government, there is tyranny. When the government fears the people, there is liberty.

My reading of history convinces me that most bad government results from too much government. Thomas Jefferson

Remember what T-E-A stands for: Taxed Enough Already. Nobody gets raped or murdered at these events. Why the show of force last Tuesday in at least four states? We have a serious problem here folks…. just sayin’. And, by the way, there is not an actual single organization called the TEA Party. It is a collection of grassroots groups and individuals. Some form an organization, but most do not. The news this week revealed that nearly 500 different conservative groups tried to get tax-exempt recognition but were stonewalled by the IRS for 27 months from before the 2010 mid-term election until after the 2012 presidential election. Coincidence?

And how bad was the stonewalling? Epic. Over the course of 27 months, not a single Tea Party type organization received tax exempt status. Breitbart.com

How should we then pray?

Pray this way for kings and all who are in authority so that we can live peaceful and quiet lives marked by godliness and dignity. This is good and pleases God our Savior, who wants everyone to be saved and to understand the truth. 1 Timothy 2:2-4

He has shown you, O man, what is good; And what does Yehovah require of you But to do justly, To love mercy, And to walk humbly with your God? Micah 6:8

God Loves Muslims

Where is Israel?

Look carefully at the picture. Where is Israel? This is a map of “Palestine”. There is no Israel on this map. This photo, snapped at a United Nations event in Lebanon on May 3, 2013 exposes the hypocrisy of the United Nations.

At the official launch of two German-funded UNRWA projects in southern Lebanon, Director of UNRWA Affairs in Lebanon, Ann Dismorr, posed with a map that erases the State of Israel and presents all of it as “Palestine.” The map includes both the Palestinian Authority areas as well as all of Israel. Above the map is the Palestinian flag and the inscription “Arab Palestine.” The text at the bottom of the map also says “Palestine.” The neighboring countries Egypt, Jordan, Syria and Lebanon are all named on the map as is the Mediterranean Sea. Israel is not mentioned or designated anywhere. Palwatch.org(This story was also carried on theBlaze.com).

There are some who would like to abolish UNRWA, but it is not likely with the UN dominated by 57 Islamic nations in the General Assembly. The UN has two relief committees, one for the Palestinians and one for all the rest of the refugees in the whole world. The deck is stacked against Israel. So, it is up to supporters of Israel to continue to speak up for her right to exist.

Since 1950, US taxpayers have provided four billion dollars for the United Nations Relief and Works. Reports from the Global Research in International Affairs have disclosed that UNRWA actually helps promotes terrorism and holds Palestinians back from building their lives. It charged UNRWA schools with being hotbeds of anti-American, and antisemitic indoctrination and recruiting offices for terrorist groups. The above article is simply additional evidence to support such claims. Pray for this organization to be further exposed with drastic declines in funding. Jerusalem News Network

It’s all in the meaning of words. One of the most deceptive aspects of Islam is assigning a different definition to a common English expression. The most common example is the difference between their definition of “innocent victims”, and the more obvious Western meaning. We view any child as an innocent victim of terrorist violence. However, the Islamists consider all infidel children as future enemy warriors and therefore not innocent. They are fair game. Only children of fellow jihadists could be considered innocent. How perverse is that?

Yesterday, I read a great quote from a blog by John Guandolo, a counterterrorism expert and a former FBI agent. He made the same point about “human rights”.

It should be noted, the OIC is made up of all 57 Islamic States across the globe (they include Palestine as one of the member states). In 1993, the OIC formally served the “Cairo Declaration” to the United Nations, which states that the entire Muslim world officially speaking under the banner of the OIC defines “Human Rights” as the imposition of Shari’ah (Islamic Law). Their 10-year plan seeks to spread “Human Rights” to the entire globe.

Most folks overlook this obvious conflict of definitions. We think of human rights as a generic term beyond misunderstanding. Yet our very gullibility and naiveté traps us. We live according to the Biblical imperative of our Judeo/Christian heritage, which teaches us that “Love believes all things.”

Love suffers long and is kind; love does not envy; love does not parade itself, is not puffed up; does not behave rudely, does not seek its own, is not provoked, thinks no evil; does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth; bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never fails. 1 Corinthians 13:4-8

How does that match up with the record of Islam? So, are we really trapped by love believing all? Not at all. The Biblical admonition to believe, speaks to our default character as believers. However, there is a balancing instruction that carries a strong warning.

Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits, whether they are of God; because many false prophets have gone out into the world. By this you know the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is of God, and every spirit that does not confess that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is not of God. And this is the spirit of the Antichrist, which you have heard was coming, and is now already in the world. 1 John 4:1-3

Well, you may ask if I am accusing Islam of an Anti-Christ spirit? Yes. Yes, I am.

Golden Calf Worship in 2013

One week ago today in Portland, Oregon, a group danced around a golden calf. It was May Day and it was an Occupy Wall Street demonstration.

Of course they did it for shock value, but it illustrates the direction some are heading in this country. Glen Beck featured this story on his radio program. This is not a joke and it is not a laughing matter. Anarchy is in vogue now in some circles, but remember that the ultimate anarchy is people refusing to worship the living God. Man will worship almost anything to avoid acknowledging Yehovah God.

Apostle Paul, inspired by the Holy Spirit, explained this phenomena.

Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools, and changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things. Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves: who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed forever. Amen. Romans 1:22-25

Pray for our nation and pray for the peace of Jerusalem.

Yehovah Rides into Egypt

We have been talking about the Arab Spring since 2011. Isaiah 19 is the prophetic description of an eight step time line of events that is now in step four. Today I will share a brief overview of those eight steps, but you need to read Isaiah 19 for yourself to get the full impact.

1. Yehovah Rides. It is God Himself who is bringing Egypt to its knees (verse 1)

2. Egyptians against Egyptians. Civil war and revolution. (verse 2)

3. Failure across the board. Tourism, economy, courts, crops, government. (verse 3)

We are now in the beginning of Step 4.

4. Cruel master/fierce king. New leader (Morsi) will be merciless, especially to Christians. (verse 4)

And the Egyptians I will give into the hand of a cruel master, and a fierce king will rule over them,”

Says the Lord, Yehovah of hosts.

5. Nile River withers and dries up bring utter calamity. (verses 5-13)

6. Perverse spirit mingled in by Yehovah. (verse 14)

Yehovah has mingled a perverse spirit in her midst; and they have caused Egypt to err in all her work,

As a drunken man staggers in his vomit.

7. Fear and terror from hand of Yehovah. They will be terrified of the Jews and Israel. (verses 16-17)

8. NEW BEGINNINGS! Egypt will turn to Yehovah God of Israel and Yeshua (Jesus) the Savior. Salvation, deliverance and a merging with Israel and Syria in peace. (verses 18-25)

Skull Hill – May 2013 Report

And they brought Him to the place Golgotha, which is translated, Place of a Skull. Mark 15:22

The “Place of a Skull” in this verse is a specific location in Jerusalem which can still be seen today. I serve as Chairman of the Board of the Golgotha Foundation which seeks to preserve the site for Christian and archeological tourism. Golgotha is a Hebrew word meaning “Place of a Skull.” The practical fact is that the building of a new Muslim mosque, minarets and a cemetery are encroaching on the site, threatening to undermine, erode and eventually destroy the amazing cliff face.

We are excited to announce our May 2013 Update Report is now posted on the above Menu tab: Golgotha. Please review the new material and stand with us. We hope to hear any day now of our accepted application to the World Monuments Fund which will put Golgotha “on the map” so to speak.

Blood

AMMAN, Jordan (AP) — The head of an extremist Jordanian Muslim Salafi group said early Tuesday that he was “happy to see the horror in America” after the explosions in Boston.

“American blood isn’t more precious than Muslim blood,” said Mohammad al-Chalabi, who was convicted in an al-Qaida-linked plot to attack U.S. and other Western diplomatic missions in Jordan in 2003.

This is a very difficult post to write. The Boston Marathon bombing is too vivid, and too close to home. My son-in-law ran the race a couple of years ago. The picture and story behind it, tells the account of a Charlotte, NC resident, only two hours away from my home.

What do I write? What is the Lord saying to me? The answer is a few thoughts about blood from the Bible. Nobody likes to talk about blood. Yet, it is the most basic life force of God. To Him it is immeasurably holy. Bloodshed leads to the most primal curse. From Genesis to Revelation blood is the scarlet thread tracing our sins and leading to salvation. Even the redemption and resurrection life of the Messiah came, and HAD…TO…COME from the blood of the sinless Lamb of God.

And He said, “What have you done? The voice of your brother’s blood cries out to Me from the ground. So now you are cursed from the earth, which has opened its mouth to receive your brother’s blood from your hand.” Genesis 4:10-11

“Whoever sheds man’s blood, By man his blood shall be shed; For in the image of God He made man.” Genesis 9:6

“For this is My blood of the new covenant, which is shed for many for the remission of sins.” Matthew 26:28

But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far off have been brought near by the blood of Christ. Ephesians 2:13

And by Him to reconcile all things to Himself, by Him, whether things on earth or things in heaven, having made peace through the blood of His cross. Colossians 1:20

No Weapon Can Stand Against Israel

Christians have long used the verse from Isaiah to proclaim God’s protection. Actually, it is a promise directly to Israel that applies now more than ever. There are still 10,000 rockets targeting Israel in Gaza, and intelligence experts agree that 70,000 rockets and missiles are in the hands of Hezbollah in southern Lebanon. This verse certainly can apply also to Christians who are “grafted in” to Israel, but the historical application is the nation of Israel.

But in that coming day no weapon turned against you will succeed. You will silence every voice raised up to accuse you. These benefits are enjoyed by the servants of Yehovah; their vindication will come from me. I, Yehovah, have spoken! Isaiah 54:17 NLT

How wonderful to hear a reference to this verse from the mouth of Israeli army chief Lt.-Gen. Benny Gantz. He recently spoke at a Holocaust remembrance Day observance at the Auschwitz Death Camp:

Speaking to a large number of Israeli, Jewish and non-Jewish dignitaries, Gantz echoed Isaiah 54:17 in declaring that “there is no weapon or evil intention that can stand” against Israel. Gantz said the presence of Israeli Jewish soldiers in Auschwitz, along with their supporters, was “living proof of the victory of light, the victory of morality, [and] the triumph of Israel.” Israel Today

As the storm clouds gather around Israel it is comforting to rest on this promise. Please continue in faithful prayer and intercession on behalf of Israel. We also proactively stand for Israel by speaking truth against the growing anti-Israel propaganda. Pray for the peace of Jerusalem. Jesus is the real Prince of Peace, Yeshua Sar Shalom.

The Day the Language Died

Look closely at the attached picture of a Power Point slide from an US Army/Pentagon Army Reserve training presentation. Notice that every flag except one is Islamic (one is Jewish). Now notice the list. The first one on the list, Evangelical Christianity in the US. The third is ultra-orthodox Judaism. Later on down we find Catholicism, US.

The incident occurred during an Army Reserve Equal Opportunity training brief on extremism. (Update 4-17-13: A spokesman for the Army acknowledged the incident but denied it was Army policy. Army spokesman George Wright later said it was an isolated incident not condoned by the Dept. of the Army. And the slide, he said, was not produced by the Army nor did it reflect their policy or doctrine.)

This is the politically manipulative and ridiculous nonsense that has replaced truthful information about Islam and jihad. And the implications of it are quite ominous. Evangelical Christianity, Catholicism and “Islamophobia” are forms of “Religion Extremism” on par with al-Qaeda and Hamas? Then how long will it be before the Obama Administration goes to war against them, as it has repeatedly declared that it is at war with al-Qaeda?

Islamophobia is extremism? Consider the conclusive statistics in this article. Not a Single Muslim Has Died Due to Islamophobia: As the usual voices fault “our oversaturated Islamophobic environment” and “growing anti-Muslim hate,” they neglect to mention how rare it is for an actual or perceived Muslim to die in a hate crime. By the FBI’s count, 74 people were killed in hate crimes (“murder and nonnegligent manslaughter” in Table 4) from 2002 to 2011, but not a single one in an anti-Muslim incident. Indeed, the FBI lists no anti-Muslim fatalities since 1995, corresponding to the earliest report available.

I see this as the death of our language. Words no longer mean what the dictionary says they mean. Even the definition of “extremist organizations” in a later slide in the same Army Reserve training cannot possible be applied with such a broad brush condemnation. Literally hundreds of millions of Catholics and evangelical Christians fall into this ridiculous list. However, it is worse than ridiculous, because this redefinition is intentional and it is well under way.

I don’t have enough space to detail the redefinition of “patriot”. But take the time to read this recent Editorial in the LA Times. For 250 years patriots have been held up as heroes of liberty. Now the term is un-righteously sullied by perverting language, and in a major newspaper. SHAME! The Editorial ends with this dire warning against “patriot groups”. These groups should be closely monitored, with resources adequate to the task, even if it means shifting some homeland security money from the hunt for foreign terrorists. Are you kidding me? I am not making this up. Take money from hunting foreign terrorists to hunt for patriots! Insanity.

Justice is turned back, And righteousness stands afar off; For truth is fallen in the street, And equity cannot enter. Isaiah 59:14

Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy—meditate on these things. Philippians 4:8

Time to Favor Israel

During Passover, the Jewish population of Israel has passed the symbolic 6 million mark – the same number of Jews believed to have been killed during the Nazi Holocaust – while the country’s total population is now 8 million. Israel now has the world’s largest community of Jews, replacing the US (5.5 million, with 2 million in New York City alone), France (500,000, mostly in Paris) and Canada (380,000, primarily in Toronto). Britain has 290,000 Jews, most of them concentrated in London. According to the Interior Ministry, Israel’s non-Jewish population comprises about 1.6 million Arabs and 350,000 non-Arab Christians plus those listed as “others.” (International Business Times/Ha’aretz) Barry Segal, Vision For Israel

Lift up your eyes and look around; all your sons gather and come to you. As surely as I live, declares Yehovah, you will wear them all as ornaments; you will put them on, like a bride. Isa 49:17-18

Israel’s restoration is in full swing as Yehovah fulfills His promise to favor Zion.

You will arise and have mercy on Zion; For the time to favor her, Yes, the set time, has come. Psalm 102:13

Not only is God bringing back Israel from all the nations, but He is prospering her. He did not regather Israel to kill them. (That is Islam’s goal.) God has brought them back to re-establish a Jewish state in the specific ancient geographical location of Israel. Happy Passover

Today is the first day of Passover 2013. This picture is a great reminder of our responsibility to fully share our faith with our children and grandchildren. We commit to training them in the ways of the Lord. As the old saying goes: God doesn’t have any grandchildren. Our children need to see our faith, touch our faith, feel our faith. They will know the security of our love; and as our arms surround them, the Lord will protect them and call them to Himself.

Yet, we cannot save them, or make the choices for them. They must choose life, each one individually. Our job is to make the choices stark. Today’s young people will not learn moral clarity from their friends or TV or the Internet. They will learn it best from us.

Put your hands on the wall. Touch the wall. Stand by the firm foundations of our faith. It is that secure, peaceful faith in Yehovah God and His Son, Yeshua the Messiah Jesus that will inspire and light the way for the next generation. Be bold, with no apologies for your faith. Let them see Him, let them touch Him for themselves.

Then you will call upon Me and go and pray to Me, and I will listen to you. and you will seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart. I will be found by you, says Yehovah. Jeremiah 29:12-14

Even though we can apply this to our personal faith walk, this promise is in the context of the restoration of Israel. Jeremiah completes his thought with the great covenant of the faithful God of Israel to bring them back. Not only from Babylon singly, but from all the nations, where He has scattered them! Hallelujah!

and I will bring you back from your captivity; I will gather you from all the nations and from all the places where I have driven you, says Yehovah, and I will bring you to the place from which I cause you to be carried away captive. Jeremiah 29:14

Thank you Father God for the Passover Lamb, Jesus. He came. He died. He rose again from the grave. The tomb is empty; Jesus is ALIVE!

We now know that when Jesus said: “This do in remembrance of Me”, the “this” referred to the Passover. So when we celebrate the Passover this year, or communion next time, we “do this” in the full historical and prophetic meaning of the Passover as we remember His sacrifice. Thank you, Jesus!

New Israeli Government Welcomes Obama

“Unbreakable Alliance” is the official logo to welcome US President Obama to Israel on Wednesday. The new Israeli government was voted in by the Knesset at 6 pm today, only 54 hours before the first Obama visit to Israel as President.

Prime Minister Netanyahu will preside over a stable government united in its stance toward Iran’s nuclear threats, the expected “Topic One” for this summit.

The President will be in the area from Wednesday through Friday, also meeting with Palestinian Authority leader Abbas in Ramallah. A detailed chronological itinerary is available here for your intercessory prayer points.

All is not rosy, however. A poster of President Obama was torn down in Bethlehem on Monday and defaced with swastikas and an “X” over his face. Later an official Palestinian car drove over it in protest. Shoes were thrown at other posters in acts of disrespect common in Arab culture. (On a personal note: Now that we have nine chickens, and I have helped clean the coop, I understand the not so subtle offense intended by the bottom of the shoe tossed at an enemy.)

This week is full of prophetic significance. Israel’s future does not hang in the balance; God’s favor and future for Israel is etched in stone. It is America’s future that is unsure. How we treat Israel will be the absolute determining factor according to the real “unbreakable alliance” between Yehovah God and Israel:

And it shall come to pass that just as you were a curse among the nations, O house of Judah and house of Israel, So I will save you, and you shall be a blessing. Do not fear, Let your hands be strong. Zechariah 8:13

Sir Isaac Newton Prophecy

This quote was sent as an encouragement to me, a confirmation of the direction of my Biblical interpretation. Sunday night I shared it with our Issachar Forum: A Prophetic Think Tank group in Wake Forest, NC. I told everyone there that it applies to them also. You who are regularly reading my Elisha Vision Commentary are also in the loop. We are all seeing the literal fulfillment of Bible prophecy on a daily basis.

A common practice among prophecy buffs is to try to “pigeon-hole” other teachers’ theological positions. I resist such forced identity, but can now give a definitive description of mine, even if slightly tongue in cheek.

I am an histori-futuri-literalist. I believe much prophecy has been fulfilled, much remains to be fulfilled soon, and I take the Bible literally. If you are not familiar with that category, it is because I made it up. It is sort of like a favorite quote from David Wilkerson when asked what he believed about the rapture and tribulation: I believe in the “you can’t lose” tribulation, because if you are with Jesus, you can’t lose!

I subscribe to the counsel: If you can possible take a Bible verse literally, do so. Earl Waterman, Dalton Mountain, New Hampshire.

So, as we continue on this exhilarating path to the Messiah’s arrival, we do so with open eyes, open minds, and open Bibles.

Yehovah Reveals Jerusalem’s Future

This Zechariah text is reverberating in my spirit. Let it soak in and percolate in your spirit.

This message concerning the fate of Israel came from Yehovah: “This message is from Yehovah, who stretched out the heavens, laid the foundations of the earth, and formed the human spirit. I will make Jerusalem like an intoxicating drink that makes the nearby nations stagger when they send their armies to besiege Jerusalem and Judah. On that day I will make Jerusalem an immovable rock. All the nations will gather against it to try to move it, but they will only hurt themselves.

“On that day,” says Yehovah, “I will cause every horse to panic and every rider to lose his nerve. I will watch over the people of Judah, but I will blind all the horses of their enemies. And the clans of Judah will say to themselves, ‘The people of Jerusalem have found strength in Yehovah of Heaven’s Armies, their God.’ Zechariah 12:1-5 NLT (Check out the other eight verses in the chapter.)

A Prophetic Month of March

One locust is a cute little grasshopper, when a locust cloud blocks out the sun and “Marches” across the land, you have a plague of Biblical proportions. It is happening, now, in Egypt. It fits with the Isaiah 19 “Arab Spring” judgements of God on Egypt. We are now living in prophecy fulfilled from day-to-day and month to month right before our eyes.

This month has the potential of epic events making history. Here is my view of what to watch for in March 2013.

1. Locust plague in Egypt.

2. Israeli Election: Prime Minister Netanyahu has two weeks to form the coalition to govern Israel.

3. The new Pope for 1.2 billion Roman Catholics will be chosen. Peter the Roman is now the interim Head of Vatican City.

4. President Obama will visit Israel March 20 (unless there is no new government by then).

5. Passover will completely dominate Israel’s schedule from March 25 to April 1. Christians will celebrate the resurrection of Jesus on March 31.

Then throw into the mix the Iranian nuclear threat and Israel’s existential decision. Wow, what a month! Pray for the peace of Jerusalem.

Good News from Israel

Since so many of my posts are about wars and rumors of wars, I thought it would be good to share some good news from Israel. God said He would bless and favor Israel and the nations would benefit. We are living in the day of Yehovah’s restoration of Israel and Jerusalem as “a praise in the whole earth.” This favor will cause the nations to see that God is with Israel.

And it shall come to pass that just as you were a curse among the nations, O house of Judah and house of Israel, so I will save you, and you shall be a blessing. Do not fear, let your hands be strong. Yes, many peoples and strong nations shall come to seek Yehovah of hosts in Jerusalem, and to pray before Yehovah. Zechariah 8:13

Thus says Yehovah of hosts: “In those days ten men from every language of the nations shall grasp the sleeve of a Jewish man, saying, “Let us go with you, for we have heard that God is with you.” Zechariah 8:22-23

1. It now appears that Prime Minister Netanyahu will be able to form the coalition he needs to form the new government (after some serious doubts during the negotiations).

2. PM Netanyahu is already holding weekly Bible studies in his home and his office, but now the new Knesset has started weekly Bible sessions with 30 members attending the first along with multiple staff people joining. There is a new wind (of the Holy Spirit) blowing in Israel. Hallelujah!

3. Israel develops the next generation operating room, right out of Star Trek! Removes internal tumors and more without cutting the body. Must watch this video.

4. Today Israel successfully tested it Arrow 3 anti-missile missile. It is the most advanced system in the world.

5. God’s much repeated Biblical strategy appears once again in modern Israel. Israel’s enemies turn on one another.

Now when they began to sing and to praise, Yehovah set ambushes against the people of Ammon, Moab, and Mount Seir, who had come against Judah; and they were defeated. For the people of Ammon and Moab stood up against the inhabitants of Mount Seir to utterly kill and destroy them. And when they had made an end of the inhabitants of Seir, they helped to destroy one another. So when Judah came to a place overlooking the wilderness, they looked toward the multitude; and there were their dead bodies, fallen on the earth. No one had escaped. 2 Chronicles 20:22-24

The Last Pope?

Much has already been written about the change of Popes on February 28. Some folks have asked my opinion, so here is my view.

The real issue is the timing. By now you have heard of the 1139 AD prophecy of Archbishop Malachy of Armagh, Ireland. First, three disclaimers:

1. Only Bible prophecy has trustworthy credibility. This one is outside the Scriptures.

2. The Roman Catholic Church rejects it.

3. The historical trail has a bit of a blip around 1590.

So what is the big deal? As stated above, it is about the timing. However, it has only struck a nerve because of the uncanny accuracy of his list of Popes and their cryptic descriptions. They really do seem to line up with the historic Popes. (See link above for the details.)

My interest is the timing naming the next Pope as the last one before the Messiah comes. My book, Generation Last, establishes two clear proofs that, indeed. we are living in the last generation of this Age. One proof is from the Old Testament; the other is from the New Testament.

The last Pope of the Malachy prophecy is Peter the Roman. Hal Lindsey mentioned the prophecy eight years ago in this article. Some observers think Pope Benedict has hand-picked the Vatican Secretary of State as his successor.

The claim centers on Cardinal Tarcisio Pietro (Peter in English) Evasio Bertone, born in Romano Canavese, Piedmont, the current secretary of state for the Vatican, who Pope Benedict XVI appointed Camerlengo, or Chamberlain, of the Holy Roman Church April 4, 2007. In the period known as “sede vacante,” when there is no sitting pope, Bertone will be called upon as Camerlengo to serve as the head of the Roman Catholic Church. Here is the last prophecy by Malachy. (Please view the entire chart of all the Popes here):

In the final persecution of the Holy Roman Church, there will sit [i.e., as bishop].
Peter the Roman, who will pasture his sheep in many tribulations, and when these things are finished, the city of seven hills [i.e. Rome] will be destroyed, and the dreadful judge will judge his people. The End

Again, it about timing. Is this a confirmation of much Biblical evidence that we are living in the last generation? Time will tell. If this “Pietro from Romano” is Peter the Roman and becomes the next Pope, I would certainly pay close attention to all the other “signs of the times.”

Now as He sat on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to Him privately, saying, “Tell us, when will these things be? And what will be the sign of Your coming, and of the end of the age?” Matthew 24:3

Be Silent Before Yehovah, All Humanity

YEHOVAH’S SPRING!

All eyes are on Israel and the Mideast. The cauldron is bubbling and boiling with strategies from the pit of hell. We are living in the day when the prophetic reality is now upon us. All hell is breaking loose, literally. Yet it is at this time that Yehovah of Heaven’s Armies is springing into action from His holy dwelling. If you thought the Arab Spring was something, wait till you see Yehovah God in action. It is all about Israel, the apple of His eye. Israel is poked by just about every other nation and God takes it personally. He told the prophet Zechariah over 2,500 years ago exactly what would occur.

After a period of glory, Yehovah of Heaven’s Armies sent me against the nations who plundered you. For he said, “Anyone who harms you harms my most precious possession. I will raise my fist to crush them, and their own slaves will plunder them.” Then you will know that Yehovah of Heaven’s Armies has sent me.

Yehovah says, “Shout and rejoice, O beautiful Jerusalem, for I am coming to live among you. Many nations will join themselves to Yehovah on that day, and they, too, will be my people. I will live among you, and you will know that Yehovah of Heaven’s Armies sent me to you. The land of Judah will be Yehovah’s special possession in the holy land, and he will once again choose Jerusalem to be his own city.Be silent before Yehovah, all humanity, for he is springing into action from his holy dwelling.” Zechariah 2:8-13

I think we could call it Yehovah’s Spring. Fasten your seat belts, prepare for turbulence. It’s going to be a bumpy ride. Let us join ourselves to Yehovah in this day! He has opened the Way, through His Son, Yeshua ben Yehovah.

Year of the Snake

The Chinese New Year which begins February 10 is the Year of the Snake. Previous “years of the snake” saw the US stock market crash of 1929, the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor in 1941, the Chinese 1989 crushing of the Tiananmen Square pro-democracy protests and the 9/11/2001 World Trade Center attack in New York City. Do I have your attention?

Let me be clear at the outset. I do not believe in astrology. The Bible is quite clear on the subject.

And when they say to you, “Seek those who are mediums and wizards, who whisper and mutter,” should not a people seek their God? Should they seek the dead on behalf of the living? Leviticus 19:31

And the person who turns to mediums and familiar spirits, to prostitute himself with them, I will set My face against that person and cut him off from his people. Leviticus 20:6

Also he made his son pass through the fire, practiced soothsaying, used witchcraft, and consulted spiritists and mediums. He did much evil in the sight of Yehovah, to provoke Him to anger. 2 Kings 21:6

The spirit of Egypt will fail in its midst; I will destroy their counsel, And they will consult the idols and the charmers, The mediums and the sorcerers. Isaiah 19:3

Additionally, Jesus explicitly defined Satan’s purpose to steal, kill and destroy. The devil is at his tasks every year. This year will see terrible events, not because of a plethora of occult false prophesies, but in the Biblical timing of the end of the age.

The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly. John 10:10

Jesus goes on to explain that we are not at the mercy of the devil at all, but that if we walk with Jesus we will be over-comers!

These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world. John 16:33

You are of God, little children, and have overcome them, because He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world. 1 John 4:4

For whatever is born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world–our faith. 1 John 5:4

Therefore, we will not live in fear, but faith! Pray for the peace of Jerusalem.

Muslims Discovered America before Columbus?

Nihad Awad (second from right) stands to President Bush’s left, when Bush said “Like the good folks standing with me, the American people were appalled and outraged at last Tuesday’s attacks [on Sept. 11, 2001].

What does President Bush have to do with the outrageous claim in the title of my commentary? This picture was taken on September 17, 2001 during the President’s visit to the Islamic Center of Washington, DC. It was during this period immediately after 9/11 that he called Islam “a religion of peace“.

My focus is not on the President, however but on the man second from right. His name is Nihad Awad and he is the subject of this post. He is the Executive Director and Founder of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR). It was in his December 27, 2012 interview with a Saudi TV network Iqra TV) that he claimed Muslims beat Columbus to America. The video interview is here.

And here are some quotes from the 12-27-12 interview on Saudi TV.

Nihad Awad: In my view, Islam and the US are twins, linked by common values.

It is extremely important to know how Islam began in the US. There are historical accounts according to which the Muslims preceded Columbus, who is said to have discovered the US. Some documents and accounts indicate that Muslim seafarers were the first to reach the US.

After 9/11, we saw great interest among the American public in becoming better acquainted with Islam by studying and reading about it. We found that very few books on Islam were available in the public libraries, which are frequented by many Americans, and that most of these books were misleading or anti-Islamic. Therefore, we decided to publish several books on Islam, written by Muslims and non-Muslims. We decided to send them free-of-charge to the American public libraries.

There are 16,200 public libraries in the US, serving 300 million Americans. We managed to provide this collection, free-of-charge, to half of these libraries. (translated by MEMRI TV).

I just thought you would like to know. If several books means at least three, then we are talking about a minimum of 25,000 books! Beware of CAIR!

How tragic the timing, as we completely strip our schools and hotels of the Bible, Islam is ready with pagan propaganda to pervert the minds of gullible Americans. May Yehovah, God of Israel have mercy on our land. Our God is a father whose Son, Yeshua ben Yehovah, is our Savior. Jesus is the Son of God, the Messiah of all who believe in Him and the Father’s Promise.

For unto us a Child is born, unto us a Son is given; and the government will be upon His shoulder. And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Of the increase of His government and peace there will be no end, upon the throne of David and over His kingdom, to order it and establish it with judgment and justice from that time forward, even forever. From Knives to Nuclear Bombs

Russian-made anti-aircraft rockets were intended for Hizbullah, could “change balance of power.”Israel National News reported late today that Israeli jets hit the convoy near the Syria/Lebanon border. Later reports are widely circulating that Israel hit a Syrian military facility, but I believe that is a lie to cover the successful raid on the SA-17 shipment, which are Russian-made anti-aircraft missiles. The report makes a strong case for the necessity of the attack: The sources said that the shipment was intended for Hizbullah and that, had they made it into the organization’s hands, the strategic balance of power in the region would have been altered.

There is a statement just hours before the strike by Maj. Gen. Amir Eshel, Commander of the IAF. The article and video interview is at this link. My title for today’s commentary came from this part of his interview:

What do we see in terms of military challenges? We need to deal with a wide range of enemies and rivals, from states to semi-states to organizations, terror etc. We are dealing with the range between sub-conventional to unconventional. From the knife to the nuclear bomb.

The Times of Israel reported: A US official said the strike hit a convoy of trucks. They also made a good case against one theory that Israel had attacked a chemical shipment. When you put today’s strike in the context of several cross-border incidents in the Golan from Syria and the deployment of Israel’s Iron Dome defensive missile shield also in the Golan, it adds up to serious war preparations. Residents of northern Israel are beginning to call for more gas masks in a story in Israel Today.

Then Yehovah spoke to me again and asked, “What do you see now?” And I replied, “I see a pot of boiling water, spilling from the north.” Jeremiah 1:13 NLT

200 Tanks, 16 F-16s

The Obama Administration is sending 200 Abrams tanks and 16 state of the art F-16 fighter jets to Egypt’s Mohammed Morsi. What could possibly go wrong? Has anyone noticed that Egypt is not being attacked or threatened by any nation? Does it matter that the 2010 deal was given to Murbarak before the Arab Spring revolution put the Muslim Brotherhood in power?

“It is appalling that the Obama administration would send F-16s and 200 military tanks to Egypt in the wake of the instability, [and the] anti-American and anti-Israel atmosphere,” Rep. Louie Gohmert, (R-Texas), told FoxNews.com.

Morsi’s Anti-Semitic ‘Apes and Pigs’ Comment Wasn’t Taken Out of Context, It Was Taken Out of the Quran (The Blaze.com) It is, by now, a well-established fact that Egyptian President Mohammed Morsi has, on repeated occasion and for over a decade in public life, referred to the Jewish people as “descendants of apes and pigs.” Despite asserting that his current bad press is merely the byproduct of a smear campaign led by the “Jewish-controlled media” (thereby doubling down on the hackneyed anti-Semitic slurs), the Muslim Brotherhood leader actually has an excuse for his consistently inflammatory rhetoric. The scripture which keeps coming to mind is the one in 2 Thessalonians that says that God Himself will send a strong delusion to those who do not love the truth. We must love and cherish truth even above our own opinions and traditions.

The coming of the lawless one is according to the working of Satan, with all power, signs, and lying wonders, and with all unrighteous deception among those who perish, because they did not receive the love of the truth, that they might be saved. A New Season

Here is a personal view of the Presidential Inaugural Prayer Breakfast I attended yesterday in Washington, DC. In a whirlwind trip, I drove up to DC, attended seven hours of meetings and returned to Raleigh in only 18 hours.

My first highlight was the worship I had in my car driving through Sunday night. Then, the harp and bowl worship at the event was sweet with connections in the Spirit to new and old friends. The native American presence throughout the morning had great authority in Jesus. One Chief prayed with great power for our nation. Sid Roth’s prayer was also with deep passion and effectiveness.

The top moment was the keynote message by Messianic Rabbi Jonathan Cahn. He spoke as a prophet of old with a clarion call for our nation to turn back to God. His message fit into what I have heard about this new season. I believe we have turned a corner because of refusing to heed God’s warnings. Jonathan Cahn’s famous book, The Harbinger, details his message. There is also an online Harbinger video at this link.

55 Million US Abortions

Forty years is a very Biblical number. Next Tuesday is the 40th anniversary of the fateful abortion decision. What prophetic implications could that occasion hold? Monday is the US Presidential Inauguration. Tuesday is also the national election in Israel. We are about to encounter a very “pregnant time” prophetically. In addition Monday, I am privileged to join many other believers at the Presidential Inaugural Prayer Breakfast in Washington, DC. I plan to participate in a “harp and bowl” worship time from 4-6 am, followed by a profound declaration over the land by native American leaders, concluding with the prayer breakfast from 7-11. Jonathan Cahn is the keynote speaker. Please be in prayer support for the transactions taking place in the heavenlies during this critical time.

Thus says Yehovah: “Execute judgment and righteousness, and deliver the plundered out of the hand of the oppressor. Do no wrong and do no violence to the stranger, the fatherless, or the widow, nor shed innocent blood in this place. Jeremiah 22:3

These six things Yehovah hates, yes, seven are an abomination to Him:

Syria Targets Israel

The headline in Israel Today.com says: Reports: Syria ordered to attack Israel if Assad falls.

Embattled Syrian dictator Bashar Assad has ordered his military chiefs to launch ballistic missiles at Israel if he is killed by rebel forces, according to sources in Damascus cited by Israeli media this week.

The online newspaper Inyan Merkazi reported that Assad met with his top generals recently to express concerns that he could be taken out by advanced American missiles recently provided to rebel forces, or by a violent mob similar to the one that violently murdered former Libyan dictator Muamar Gaddafi.

For several months the UN count of Syrians killed was stuck at 40,000. But then suddenly the updated numbers released January 2, set the number at 60,000 dead. Beyond that, the estimates on the ground are even higher, surpassing 70,000. CNN quoted the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, Navi Pillay: The 60,000, she said, “is likely to be an underestimate of the actual number of deaths.” Citing the discovery of mass graves in newly liberated government bases, Alhamadee, the activist, said: “The number I think is far greater than this, and lots of people are missing.”

To put it in perspective: 60,000 people is roughly the population of Terre Haute, Indiana; or Cheyenne, Wyoming. It’s how many people would fit in Dodger Stadium, and it’s more than the 50,000-plus U.S. combat deaths in Vietnam. CNN

I wrote about it at the beginning of the Syrian civil war in April, 2011: Damascus Destroyed – This may be the most important news story of the month. While most eyes are on Libya, the growing crisis in Syria has more direct significance to prophecy. We have seen the Psalm 83 prophecy building for several years now. It makes sense that the Isaiah 17 prophecy would be part of that war.

The burden against Damascus. “Behold, Damascus will cease from being a city, and it will be a ruinous heap”. Isaiah 17:1.

Be assured that if Assad does target Israel, Yehovah, God of Israel will have something to say about that.

“Behold, the days are coming,” says Yehovah, “that I will perform that good thing which I have promised to the house of Israel and to the house of Judah: In those days and at that time I will cause to grow up to David a Branch of righteousness; He shall execute judgment and righteousness in the earth. In those days Judah will be saved, and Jerusalem will dwell safely. And this is the name by which she will be called: YEHOVAH OUR RIGHTEOUSNESS.” Jeremiah 33:14:16

Free from God

Yesterday we had an amazing Bible class at Covenant International Church. We have been studying Jeremiah and the Holy Spirit came upon us in power over one profound verse. Even though I was the teacher, I was speechless for over a minute, with tears, in the presence of our holy God, Yehovah. The class likewise experienced the weight of His glory.

We were looking at the reaction of Judah’s King Zedekiah, to Jeremiah’s prophecy of Jerusalem’s destruction and exile to Babylon. The King proclaimed liberty for all the slaves and they even came together in the temple making a covenant. All the people agreed and released their slaves. However, they soon reversed course and took their slaves back.

Therefore Yehovah released them from Himself!

Therefore thus says Yehovah: “You have not obeyed Me in proclaiming liberty, every one to his brother and every one to his neighbor. Behold, I proclaim liberty to you,” says Yehovah–“to the sword, to pestilence, and to famine! And I will deliver you to trouble among all the kingdoms of the earth.” Jeremiah 34:17

The magnitude of this settled on the class in such a sober, holy revelation that it took our breath away. God gave them liberty from Himself! Since they found it objectionable to follow His ways, He released them from His mercy, His protection, His provision and His peace. He set them free to experience the sword, pestilence, famine and trouble! This is not the kind of liberty we usually think of with our Heavenly Father. Do you want to be free from God? Do you choose the “liberty” to do as you please in sin and disobedience? Or, do you choose the constraints of the narrow path of His righteousness through Christ Jesus, Messiah Yeshua?

For many years I have posed a question about justice and mercy. Given that the Bible is clear that we have all sinned and have fallen short of the glory of God, and that we deserve death, here is my question to you. Do you demand that God gives you justice, that is, that God gives you exactly what you deserve? Or do you cry out from your heart for grace and mercy? I see this similar question, of liberty from walking with God, as a fool’s bargain. I don’t want it, I choose to be His servant: willingly, lovingly, eternally bound to Him.

For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, is working for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory. 2 Corinthians 4:17

This last season of history is presenting these same choices to men and nations. I grieve when it seems that our beloved USA chooses liberty from God over His honor and glory. The choice offered by God is also for Israel and for every nation. God help us. Still, as for me and my house….

And if it seems evil to you to serve Yehovah, choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the River, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you dwell. But as for me and my house, we will serve Yehovah. Joshua 24:15

Let the priests, who minister to Yehovah, weep between the porch and the altar; Let them say, “Spare Your people, O Yehovah, and do not give Your heritage to reproach, that the nations should rule over them. Why should they say among the peoples, “Where is their God?” Joel 2:17

The “New Pharaoh” Principle

Now there arose a new king over Egypt, who did not know Joseph. Exodus 1:8

During Israel’s 400 years in Egypt they transitioned from great favor under Joseph as Pharaoh’s second in command. Eventually their expanding population threatened a new Pharaoh and he made them slaves. This is a prophetic picture of modern Israel’s circumstances. I call it the “New Pharaoh” principle.

Prime Minister Netanyahu quoted this text on New Year’s Day during his weekly Bible study. It came up in the regular Torah portion Bible reading for Jews everywhere. I was impressed with his insight into the prophetic application. He saw the threat from Egypt’s Morsi who replaced Mubarak; and he applied it also to the Hamas threat over the West Bank.

In this week’s Torah portion it is written, “Now there arose a new king over Egypt who knew not Joseph.” That’s also happening today,” he said from his Jerusalem residence, referring to the Islamist president, Mohammed Morsi, who replaced Hosni Mubarak as Egypt’s leader last year. Everyone knows that Hamas could take over the Palestinian Authority. Benjamin Netanyahu 1-1-13

It is so wonderful to hear a head of state not merely use Scripture for image, but as the support for his political position. Hamas really is a threat to take over the Palestinian “state” in the West Bank. The Prime Minister continued:

As opposed to the voices that I have heard recently urging me to run forward, make concessions, withdraw [from the West Bank], I think that the diplomatic process must be managed responsibly and sagaciously and not in undue haste. Otherwise a third base for Iranian terrorism will arise here, in the heart of the country. Peace can be achieved only when security is assured. (ibid)

This principle has applied several times already in the so-called peace process. When Israel withdrew from Lebanon, Hezbollah took over control. When Israel withdrew from Gaza, the Palestinian Authority was soon overthrown by Hamas. The same scenario has now played out in Egypt. and is certain to result in Syria and even Jordan before we are through.

Therefore, Netanyahu is wise to consider possible future changes when “negotiating” with Abbas. The corrupt PA will be replaced by Hamas in a short time. There is a growing move in Israel to simply annex Judea and Samaria (the West Bank). A Jerusalem conference is considering this concept this week.

Please keep the “New Pharaoh” principle in mind as you pray for Israel and real peace for Jerusalem.

Will Israel Stand Alone?

Monday, I explained that the enemies of Israel in reality hate God. They can’t reach Heaven so they attack His Chosen Ones. There is a primary evil spirit loose on the earth of satan himself, who would overthrow the God of Heaven. This anti-Christ anti-Messiah spirit takes form as anti-Jew, anti-Israel, anti-Semitic and anti-life. It is the same violent principality that was judged by Yehovah in the great flood of Noah’s day. The Hebrew word for violence in the flood account is “hamas“. Used many times in the Bible, it is no coincidence that the rulers of Gaza chose that name. Yet, the spirit of hamas indwells all of Israel’s enemies.

The earth also was corrupt before God, and the earth was filled with violence. So God looked upon the earth, and indeed it was corrupt; for all flesh had corrupted their way on the earth. And God said to Noah, “The end of all flesh has come before Me, for the earth is filled with violence through them; and behold, I will destroy them with the earth. Genesis 6:11-13

Jesus and Mary as Weapons

‘Jesus and Mary have become weapons in hands of Israel-haters’

This is the headline in the Israel Today Magazine (12-23-12). Reading this quote (below) from the writer, Yossi Aloni, highlights a subject I have been planning to write about. It is known by several names: anti-Semitism, anti-Jew, and anti-Israel. By any name it has been around for thousands of years, but is now resurgent in Europe, the Middle East and even in America. This age old hatred is now nearing the levels of the rise of Hitler in Nazi Germany. Before I comment, here is the quote:

Anti-Israel activists in Ireland have printed and distributed Christmas greeting cards that claim if Mary, the mother of Jesus, was alive today, she would be unable to give birth to Jesus as documented in the New Testament because Israeli soldier would hold her up at the Bethlehem checkpoint as they do all Palestinian women. These new greeting cards were announced the same weekend that the Israeli embassy in Ireland caused a storm by posting to its official Facebook page that if Mary and her baby, Jesus, were in Bethlehem today, they would likely be lynched as Jews. Shortly after, the embassy deleted the post and issued an apology.

This subject is on my heart today on Christmas Eve because it is prophetic fulfillment. The hatred expressed against Israel and all Jews everywhere has it source in the worst hatred of all: anti-God or more specifically, anti-Yehovah, God of Israel. The dots are connected beyond question in Psalm 83.

Do not keep silent, O God! Do not hold Your peace, and do not be still, O God! For behold, Your enemies make a tumult; and those who hate You have lifted up their head. They have taken crafty counsel against Your people, and consulted together against Your sheltered ones. They have said, “Come, and let us cut them off from being a nation, that the name of Israel may be remembered no more.” Psalm 83:1-4

The enemies of Yehovah and His Son, Yeshua ben Yehovah (Jesus), hate God with an unquenchable fire of loathing. Yet, they cannot reach into Heaven and attack Him there, so they take it out on His chosen people, Israel and the Jews .

The fact of baby Jesus and Mary being used for propaganda is revealing. The lines are being drawn. Which side are you choosing? As for me and my house, we serve Yehovah, the Everlasting Faithful God of Israel. This is part one of my comments. Next time I will list and document examples of the growing anti-Israel actions around the world. Please continue to pray for the peace of Jerusalem in this Christmas season. It is a person, Jesus Prince of Peace!

One quick good news report. The rains are returning to Israel. The seven year drought is broken. The Sea of Galilee is predicted to rise to its highest level in ten years by the end of the rainy season. Hallelujah!

The Unknown Christmas Tragedy

We are all weary of the endless media coverage of the horrible massacre of children last Friday. But is it even possible to overstate the evil? Media talk about it because people are insatiable for every detail, not out of morbid curiosity so much, but because of the very unthinkable magnitude of evil that befell that idyllic New England community.

We live in a fallen world. There really is evil personified. The Bible is clear that the devil came for death and destruction. Jesus, Himself, said this about Satan:

The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly. John 10:10

Today I attended the first Christmas program of my three-year old grandson, complete with Mary, Joseph, shepherds and animals. It was priceless, yet sobering in light of the suffering families in Connecticut. But there is a part of the Christmas story that is never portrayed with cute little ones dressed in animal costumes. It is the part about King Herod’s rage and jealousy upon hearing of a baby born “King of the Jews”. Determined to kill that baby, but unsure of his age, Herod ordered the murder of every single baby boy up to the age of two.

Then Herod, when he saw that he was deceived by the wise men, was exceedingly angry; and he sent forth and put to death all the male children who were in Bethlehem and in all its districts, from two years old and under, according to the time which he had determined from the wise men. Matthew 2:16

This Christmas season is different for many because of the events in New Town. Yet, although some have decided not to celebrate the birth of Jesus, I disagree. Certainly the false images of tinsel and glitter and excessive commercialization are inappropriate, but more than ever we need to rejoice in that certain event 2,000 years ago when God became man. It is our only hope. He is our only hope.

The miracle of Yehovah God sending His Son, Yeshuah ben Yehovah, to be born as a baby into this evil sinful world was absolutely necessary. It was the only way to redeem fallen man. Through blood he was born from Mary’s womb. Blood was shed as the enemy tried to kill Him as an infant. Blood has been shed throughout the millenniums as Satan has tried to kill Yeshua’s family before and after His birth. It was necessary that Jesus come as the Promised Messiah, but more importantly, that He die. His blood was the only perfect, holy, righteous blood that could satisfy the justice of a holy God. He became the human Passover Lamb. It was completed with His resurrection from the dead, thereby defeating death itself.

Our hope is not that this world will get better and better, but that no matter what happens, we have the blessed hope of resurrection life and eternity with Jesus where there will be no more tears or death or dying!

I was amazed to hear comments on Fox News from a Catholic Priest, Jonathan Morris, and an evangelical, Max Lucado. They both emphasized free will in the evil choice of the killer last week. He chose to kill. The contrast with Jesus could not be more stark. He chose to die to give life to all who would believe in Him. It was not imposed on Him by the Heavenly Father. He chose it, out of His love for each one of us.

saying, “Father, if it is Your will, take this cup away from Me; nevertheless not My will, but Yours, be done.” Luke 22:42

So, the million dollar question is: What will you do with your free will?
