Today’s military coup has reversed the democratic election of 18 months ago which brought Mohammed Morsi and the Muslim Brotherhood to power in Egypt. Morsi was President for exactly one year. I have been declaring that he was the “cruel master” and “fierce king” of Isaiah 19. It appears now that I was wrong about Morsi being that leader. However, the overall prophecy of Isaiah 19, the “Arab Spring”chapter still holds.
The first three verses are already fulfilled and we now look elsewhere for verse four, unless Morsi has an amazing recovery of power. Who will the army choose to lead Egypt? Will he be the cruel master, fierce king; or will it be someone who follows him? You can be sure that the prophecy of Scripture will be fulfilled. The chaos and divisions are not going to heal themselves. More to come.
