Elisha Vision – Commentary

Who has ascended into heaven, or descended? Who has gathered the wind in His fists? Who has bound the waters in a garment? Who has established all the ends of the earth? What is His name, and what is His Son’s name, If you know? Proverbs 30:4

For several years I have emphasized the personal name of the God of the Bible, which is Yehovah. (See note below my signature). This verse from Proverbs confronts us with the undeniable fact that He has a name. Jewish scholars know the name but refuse to pronounce it, instead substituting “Adonai/Lord” or “haShem/theName”. Christian translators also obscure the actual name of Yehovah, although they know the Son’s name, Jesus or Yeshua.

As with all sound theology, this study begins with a literal belief in the Scriptures. There are two apparently unconnected headlines in the news this week. However, I see them joined by the same error: refusal to take God at His word. Here are the linked headlines with my comments.

Muslims Demand Vatican Envoy Leave Malaysia

This story is about the Catholic Church insisting on using the name of the god of Islam, A-la, instead of Yehovah. This is especially critical in our generation because of the rise of Islam. Their god intends to replace Yehovah as the True God. Christian translators naïvely think we all worship the same god. For more detail on this error please order my newest book, SIMPLE ISLAM. The name of the god of Islam – You will notice that I have consistently miss-spelled the name of the god of Islam. This is intentional. My preference is to use this spelling “A-la” in place of the actual spelling of the name “Allah”, except in direct quotes from other sources. I generally try to abide by the Biblical prohibition, given in at least four Scripture references where we are instructed to not say the names of other gods. These verses are explained in the conclusion of this book in Part IV – Action Items.

Fuller Seminary Allows First LGBT Campus Group

Secondly, the problem of not taking the Bible literally continues to lead to apostasy in the Church. Fuller Seminary was formerly known as a defender of Biblical faith. They now follow the lead of liberal schools before them who think they have a better standard than the Bible.

For false messiahs and false prophets will rise up and perform great signs and wonders so as to deceive, if possible, even God’s chosen ones. Matthew 24:24 NLT

Both of these headlines are the result of rejecting a literal reading of God’s Word. Am I saying that Muslims or homosexuals cannot be saved? No, Jesus died for them! I am saying that we all come to Jesus bound by our sins, and He sets us free. We are free to “sin no more.”

Not one human being is left out of this list of sinners….BUT….You were washed!

Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor homosexuals, nor sodomites, nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners will inherit the kingdom of God.
