“The first rule for President Obama: It’s all about 2014. The second rule for President Obama: See Rule No. 1.” By Joseph Curl
The above quote from The Washington Times assigns a cynical motive to President Obama’s Syria calculus. Is it only about winning the House in 2014? I sure hope not. Yet, most Americans have lost faith in the President’s foreign policy. However, the real problem is the effect of his zigzag on Israel, the only true democracy in the Middle East.
There is great analysis in The Times of Israel. (That is where I got the title for this blog: ZigZag!) The viewpoint from Israel by David Horovitz reveals the dilemma facing Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
Obama unleashes horror in Jerusalem: “Israel wants to believe the US will yet intervene to stop Assad’s use of chemical weapons, undoing some of the damage caused by the president’s zigzag. For the leadership here, the alternative is too awful to contemplate.
The Israeli political and security leadership is privately horrified by President Barack Obama’s 11th-hour turnaround on striking Syria — a decision he took alone, after he had sent his Secretary of State John Kerry to speak out passionately and urgently in favor of military action. It is now fearful that, in the end, domestic politics or global diplomacy will ultimately lead the US to hold its fire altogether.
It is worried, furthermore, at the ever-deeper perception of Obama’s America in the Middle East as weak, hesitant and confused — most especially in the view of the region’s most radical forces, notably including Bashar Assad, Hezbollah, and Iran.”
Once again, the average person is at a loss to understand the political machinations. The only trustworthy report is from the Bible.
Who has believed our report? And to whom has the arm of Yehovah been revealed? Isaiah 53:1
We need revelation from Heaven to understand what is going on in Syria. Psalm 83 is the Biblical blueprint for the imminent war. To that we add Isaiah 17 which reveals the coming complete destruction of Damascus. Finally, Isaiah 19 outlines the Arab Spring especially for Egypt and Syria. Yehovah God is in control, and the end will be salvation!
In that day there will be an altar to Yehovah in the midst of the land of Egypt, and a pillar to Yehovah at its border. And it will be for a sign and for a witness to Yehovah of hosts in the land of Egypt; for they will cry to Yehovah because of the oppressors, and He will send them a Savior and a Mighty One, and He will deliver them.
In that day Israel will be one of three with Egypt and Assyria–a blessing in the midst of the land, whom Yehovah of hosts shall bless, saying, “Blessed is Egypt My people, and Assyria the work of My hands, and Israel My inheritance.” Isaiah 19:19-20, 24-25
As the song says: “Whose report will you believe? We will believe the report of the LORD!“

(As is my custom, I have taken the liberty to change the word “LORD” to Yehovah. Every single time you see LORD or GOD in all capital letters in the Old Testament, the actual Hebrew word is Yehovah. This name occurs 6,828 times in the Hebrew text, yet remains untranslated in most Bibles. His name, obscured for 2,500 years, is now being revealed. It is TIME to restore the name of Yehovah!) Great post, Honey!! Have a wonderfully blessed day and meeting tonight. Love you, Doreen

my 2 cents:
https://spreadanidea.wordpress.com/2013/09/03/the-u-s-and-syria/
but this comes from an American and anti war point of view. Contains some talk about language differences that might help our 2 sides understand each other.
