Why Multiculturalism is Bad

diversityFirst, let’s be clear. The Kingdom of Yehovah God is multiracial, but “multicultural” is completely different.

And they sang a new song, saying: “You are worthy to take the scroll, and to open its seals; for You were slain, and have redeemed us to God by Your blood out of every tribe and tongue and people and nationRevelation 5:9

If you mean that people have different minor customs, that is normal. However, if you define culture as maintaining a completely separate system, then you find yourself in conflict with the Bible. Islam under Sharia law is the best current example.

Sharia is an entire way of life for the faithful Muslim. It is not only a religious duty, but it governs every aspect of one’s life. Because it is a supremacist ideology, it is incompatible with any other government or religion. Sharia is in direct contradiction to the US Constitution, Declaration of Independence, Bill of Rights and even the Magna Carta. Most Americans have forgotten that our most important founding document is the Bible. All of our great founding documents issue directly from Biblical principles and concepts.

There is a distinct, clearly defined, Biblical culture that, much like Sharia, governs every aspect of the believer’s life. It starts with the Ten Commandments and continues through the great love chapter of 1 Corinthians 13. Following these precepts, leads to historic blessings and favor from the God of the Bible. The Western nations have been blessed because of Biblical, Judeo-Christian foundations.

Let all the earth fear Yehovah; Let all the inhabitants of the world stand in awe of Him. For He spoke, and it was done; He commanded, and it stood fast. Yehovah  brings the counsel of the nations to nothing; He makes the plans of the peoples of no effect. The counsel of Yehovah stands forever, the plans of His heart to all generations. Blessed is the nation whose God is Yehovah, the people He has chosen as His own inheritance. Psalm 33:8-12

The name of the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob is Yehovah, the Creator, our Father. Perverted modern media still lies to us, by miss-translating the Islamic war/suicide cry as “God is Great.” The true translation is “Allah is the Greatest.” Their god is not a father and has no son, therefore, a completely different god. When Yehovah warned against “other gods,” He revealed the fact that people would come up with other gods.

“When Yehovah your God cuts off from before you the nations which you go to dispossess, and you displace them and dwell in their land, take heed to yourself that you are not ensnared to follow them, after they are destroyed from before you, and that you do not inquire after their gods, saying, ‘How did these nations serve their gods? I also will do likewise.’ You shall not worship Yehovah your God in that way; for every abomination to Yehovah which He hates they have done to their gods; for they burn even their sons and daughters in the fire to their gods. Deuteronomy 12:29-31

It matters what you believe.

Political Morality: The Mother of All Oxymorons

Okay, so the standard is morality. Fine. On one side we have a man with immoral words. On the other side we have a woman whose actions have backed abortion her entire career with now nearly 60 million babies murdered in their mother’s womb, including partial birth abortion which should be called infanticide. (By the way, we have had approximately 120 million births during the same period since 1973 Roe vs. Wade decision. That means we have “legally” killed ONE-THIRD of our future.

Her decisions are responsible for four dead Americans in Bengazi, the embrace of Egypt’s Muslim Brotherhood, the general debacle of Libya, the civil war in Syria, the Russian reset, and the Iran Deal, to name a few of her decisions.

So what’s my point? Do you see any difference between immoral words and immoral policy? If you don’t, stop reading now, I can’t help you. If the Clinton campaign and the media succeed in focusing voters attention on something “shiny” in one hand, they will miss the knife in the other hand.

Political morality is indeed an oxymoron. Let the politician without sin please cast the first stone. Oh, wait! The stones have been flying already for months. Political morality and political hypocrisy are synonyms. The very definition of politics is self-interest. We started with citizen legislators representing their home folks. Now we have political icons. How does one leave the White House broke after being in politics your whole career, and then be a Senator from New York and then the Secretary of State and suddenly be worth over $200,000,000? That’s 200 MILLION DOLLARS! How?

Meanwhile a citizen businessman with a gutter mouth succeeds in business, making billions. Yet, he is “unfit” to be President because of his mouth. I’m sorry, but I am not willing to cast stones.

I have been a Christian pastor my entire life, but even I would shudder to think that some of my past would be broadcast on international news. But, you see, Christians understand the power of the Holy Spirit to change people. I am not what I should be, I am not what I could be, but praise God I am not what I used to be.

Oh, yeah, he is quoted for things he said a decade or two ago. Her actions are consistent to the present: secret server, public positions and private positions, open borders, open trade, globalism and a new world order. No thank you!

I warn all believers to not bite into the apple of self-righteousness. It is a trap laid by a very shrewd and seductive deceiver. We are in a spiritual war that is far larger than Trump or Clinton. Who is pointing America on the right track for the future? (See my posting of the party platforms.)Stop complaining about the poor choices. Your vote is still your most cherished right in this republic. Don’t squander it. The Supreme Court, religious freedoms, and the entire Bill of Rights hang in the balance.

Let me be clear. I am saying that withholding your vote or voting for a third party is not righteous; it is self-righteous. Please be as righteous as you can be through the blood of the Messiah, but don’t use it as an excuse for abdicating your God-given right to cast your vote for the immediate direction of our country.

You may think I am defending Trump, but you would be wrong. Our only hope is the Lord, but I will vote for Trump because the alternative is national suicide, which I will not assist.

Passover: Life or Death?

A Passover jpegPassover 101 Tonight, millions of Jews and Christians all around the world begin celebrating seven days of Passover, remembering a critical turning point of history. After 400 years of Egyptian slavery, God’s chosen people were freed to establish the nation of Israel in the Land chosen by Yehovah God.

The story of their deliverance and the ten plagues will be detailed in each Passover meal this week, but I want to focus on the macro view. Yehovah revealed how He planned to deal with sin. Ever since the Fall of Adam and Eve, we all were born with a sinful, selfish nature. One way to satisfy God’s justice was destroy all the wicked and start over.

Original sin: for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, Romans 3:23 The wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. Romans 6:23

The wonderful news is that He had a better way to satisfy the justice demand of a death for a death. He first gave an animal sacrifice in blood to cover our sin, one year at a time, renewable on the annual Day of Atonement, Yom Kippur. However, this only covered our sin. The permanent solution was to offer His only begotten Son, as the “Lamb” of Yehovah God. This blood sacrifice was so pure, so Holy, it washes us clean, and holy, and righteous: blameless before God! Hallelujah!

We tend to think of the death of the firstborn in Egypt as the main message of the Exodus story, but I submit to you that the main point is the LIFE that was given to the Hebrew slaves. Any Hebrew family that put the lamb’s blood on their doorpost was spared. But if any Egyptian family believed what Moses said from God, they also would be spared. But, Pharaoh hardened his heart and refused God’s offer. The salvation from death was for all who believed. The same is true today. Any single person who believes in Jesus as the Lamb of God will have his or her sins forgiven and granted eternal life in fellowship with Father God and His Son, Yeshua the Messiah!

As I said in my newest book, Blessing Israel, God did not choose Israel as a means of excluding all the nations, but as the means of saving everyone who believes in Him. So, is the main theme of Passover, death? Or, is it life? The choice is yours.

Baal Worship in NYC and London

Today is a serious subject: the rise of Baal worship around the world.

When ISIS destroyed the pagan temple of Baal in Palmyra, Syria, it was viewed as the destruction of “world heritage.” I get that, but something unexpected resulted from that event. A major demonic principality seized the opportunity to go global. In a consequence comparable to opening Pandora’s Box, something very evil is emerging. Now don’t misunderstand me, we should not fear, but find the position of faith and prayer war to resist and counter what Satan intends to do.

The seemingly innocuous story was announced in the New York Times on March 19, 2016:

NEXT month, the Temple of Baal will come to Times Square. Reproductions of the 50-foot arch that formed the temple’s entrance are to be installed in New York and in London, a tribute to the 2,000-year-old structure that the Islamic State destroyed last year in the Syrian town of Palmyra.

The Institute of Digital Archaeology is the organization behind this effort, and the display of these two arches is intended to be the highlight of UNESCO’s World Heritage Week late next month. Charisma News

It has also been characterised as a gesture of defiance against religious extremists’ attempts to erase evidence of the Middle East’s pre-Islamic history. The Guardian

The plot thickens when you learn the date the arch will rise in NYC and London. April 19 just happens to be the beginning of one of the most important occult/pagan holidays of the year:

The Cheeky Candidate

GWToday we have a “words are fun” segment. I was trying to think of a word to describe a certain candidate for President. I will not mention his name. See if you can guess. One word jumped out, so I looked up the meaning and found it became a thread connecting two other words that also seemed to capture the spirit of this candidate.

CHEEKY:  rude and showing a lack of respect

  1. insolently bold: impudent

IMPUDENT: failing to show proper respect and courtesy: very rude

  1. lacking modesty
  2. marked by contemptuous or cocky boldness or disregard of others: insolent

INSOLENT: rude or impolite: having or showing a lack of respect for other people

  1. insultingly contemptuous in speech or conduct: overbearing
  2. exhibiting boldness or effrontery

(This string of definitions are from Merriam-Webster).

Many Christians are being deceived by this candidate whom they celebrate for his “cheeky” words. In fact he is praised for “punching back” when he is offended. I simply ask you this. Is that the Christian, or even civil way to communicate with one another? Both the Old and New Testaments agree on a better way.

A soft answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger. Proverbs 15:1

Jesus said: You have heard that it was said, “An eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth.” But I tell you not to resist an evil person. But whoever slaps you on your right cheek, turn the other to him also. If anyone wants to sue you and take away your tunic, let him have your cloak also. Matthew 5:38-39

Voting Guide for Believers

voteI am not impressed so far with the so-called evangelical voters. They are all over the map and quite confused. What is the source of their decisions in this primary season? How about you? It is decision time in many states with early voting (as my state of North Carolina). I have prayed earnestly for wisdom from above.

An Election Self-test for Bible Believers.

  1. Do you pray before you vote? Or: Separation of church and voting booth? Invite Jesus into your voting booth. Really. Ask God for whom you should vote.
  2. Are you motivated by the flesh or the Holy Spirit? Look at the occasion of Jesus rejected by the Samaritans: And when His disciples James and John saw this, they said, “Lord, do You want us to command fire to come down from heaven and consume them, just as Elijah did?” But He turned and rebuked them, and said, You do not know what manner of spirit you are of. For the Son of Man did not come to destroy men’s lives but to save them.” Luke 9:54-56
  3. What is in your heart? The question is not like the commercial: “What is in your wallet?” But, what is in your heart?
  4. Are you voting for David or Saul? When Saul was King, man was King. When David was King, God was King. He raised up for them David as king, to whom also He gave testimony and said, “I have found David the son of Jesse, a man after My own heart, who will do all My will.” Acts 13:22
  5. What would Jesus do? WWJD Jesus is the servant king (like David). Does your candidate have a servant’s heart?
  6. Beware the leaven of the Pharisees and of Herod This is a longer teaching, so let me summarize. Pharisees had a religious spirit which was self-righteousness. Herod had a political spirit which was self-interest. Both are very bad, don’t go there with your vote.
  7. Are you for justice or mercy? Be careful how you answer. There is a great clamoring for justice today. Do you understand what our nation justly deserves: immorality, corruption, blasphemy, killing our own babies? Put it this way: Do you want God to give you exactly what you deserve? Or do you choose mercy and grace? Pray for mercy and vote accordingly. Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, ​​For they shall be filled. ​​Blessed are the merciful, ​​For they shall obtain mercy. Matthew 5:6-7

When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice; But when a wicked man rules, the people groan. Proverbs 29:2

When someone tells me they saw a good movie, I ask them: “Do you mean good, in the sense of Godly?” So if you tell me you have a good candidate, I simply ask: “Do you mean good, in the sense of Godly? Pray for wisdom from above!

To Scarf or not to Scarf?

Last week I wrote on World Scarf Day. This week we need to dig a little deeper. Really, why are naïve Westerners joining the Islamic propaganda machine by calling for women to wear the Islamic head scarf, the hijab?

This Dry Bones cartoon highlights the confusion. While their own citizens are murdered for refusing to wear it, the capital city of Ottawa, Canada calls for Canadians to wear the scarf. This ignorant duplicity must be exposed. Here is a great excerpt from an article published by The Gatestone Institute.

This Thursday, February 25, 2016, the city of Ottawa will be holding a public event celebrating the hijab, Islam’s physical repression of women.

  • The outrage is that Hijab Solidarity Day will be taking place under the auspices of the City of Ottawa, the capital of Canada. It is not the role of a democratic government to celebrate religious symbols or to help religions proselytize.
  • The government’s acceptance of an Ottawa Hijab Solidarity Day amounts to accepting a radical legal system that is completely contrary to Canada’s democratic values, and crosses the line that separates Church and State. Endorsing the hijab is endorsing the first step of an extremist ideology that leads to and condones honor killings, female genital mutilation (FGM) and the oppression of women.
  • In 2007, Aqsa Parvez, a 16-year-old Pakistani Muslim living in Toronto, was strangled to death by her father. Her crime was that, as a free woman in Canada, she chose not to wear a hijab. In another case in Canada, in 2012, four Muslim women were murdered by their own family for refusing to wear a hijab and preferring Western clothing. What Is Canada Doing Celebrating Hijab Day?

Last week I emphasized the Biblical name of God, Yehovah. Here is an excerpt from my book, Simple Islam, which takes it a step further. Judeo/Christian nations need to heed the four Bible prohibitions listed here.

Chapter 11 – Stop Saying the Names of other gods

Most God-fearing Christians and Jews completely understand and respect the first commandment to have “no other gods” before Yehovah. Yet, in the Western nations, including America, many have opened up their thinking to other gods in the name of tolerance. This makes me want to ask them: “What part of ‘no other gods’ don’t you understand?”

It is only recently that I have found a more specific prohibition on the subject. You may have noticed by now that I am reluctant to say or write the name of the god of Islam. It is because the Bible prohibits it! What if we in America or at least believers were to practice the following four scriptures? Notice how the Holy Spirit progressively adds another component to the prohibition with each verse.

Here is the prohibition

And in all that I have said to you, be circumspect and make no mention of the name of other gods, nor let it be heard from your mouth.   (Exodus 23:13).

Then Joshua adds three more conditions.

You shall not make mention of the name of their gods, nor cause anyone to swear by them; you shall not serve them nor bow down to them, but you shall hold fast to Yehovah your God, as you have done to this day.  (Joshua 23:7).

The way a person converts to Islam is by standing in a public place and swearing allegiance three times to the god of Islam and his messenger, Muhammad. The next step is to serve that god and bow down to it. You have seen many examples of Muslims doing that even in public five times a day. I am ashamed to say that in a widely publicized picture, President Obama, who professes Christianity, bowed down 90 degrees from the waist to the King of Saudi Arabia, who is the religious custodian/keeper of Mecca.

The third scripture introduces another aspect, blood, which especially applies to Islam. This blood thirsty death cult delights in the shedding of blood in the name of their god. Hence, we hear the perverse oath proclaimed by every suicide bomber before detonation, that his god is the greatest.

Their sorrows shall be multiplied who hasten after another god; Their drink offerings of blood I will not offer, nor take up their names on my lips.   (Psalm 16:4).

Fourth, Hosea adds a final point. Not only will we not speak their names, but eventually their names will not even be remembered.

For I will take from her mouth the names of the Baals, and they shall be remembered by their name no more.   (Hosea 2:17).

Words matter. It is time to re-think our terminology and our naïve embracing of other religions.

World Scarf Day

American-Muslim-Women-IP_1Actually, it is called World Hijab Day. It is one of the most dangerous tools of Islam to deceive the West. Their narrative is that it is a wonderful way to choose modesty. In point of fact, however, it is used in radical Muslim theocracies to imprison women and to mark those who refuse as apostates. Don’t believe the lying propaganda.

The history of modern Turkey illustrates my point. As a consequence of losing World War I, the Ottoman Empire was required to abolish the Caliphate headquartered in Turkey. Turkey was legally secularized and the hijab faced a widespread ban in most circles. After 80 years, a new leader arose in Turkey (Erdogan) who legalized the hijab once again. This has directly contributed to the new radicalization of modern Turkey. His plea was for “democratic freedom” to wear it. However, once it became legal, husbands and male authorities were able to persecute any who refused it. Thus we see it increasing every year as women are once again enslaved by this totally sexist religion.

World Hijab Day is now invading American schools as a way of experiencing and learning about Islam. Here is a quote from a school principal who endorsed it for her school in Rochester, New York, followed by comments from the Clarion Project:

“We are an experiential school; we engage kids in all kinds of activities and projects all of the time, so the perspective of being able to learn what a hijab is, why some women choose to wear it and why some women don’t choose to wear it, and we provide the opportunity to experience it; it is well within protocol of experiential learning.”

Unfortunately, learning about “why some women don’t choose to wear it” – or more pointedly, what happens to women in certain Muslim countries and societies who have no choice whether or not to wear it — was not part of the program.

As prominent Muslim human rights activist Asra Nomani writes in the Washington Post, events such as these are a “painful reminder of the well-financed effort by conservative Muslims to dominate modern Muslim societies”.

I highly recommend The Clarion Project as an excellent source. Of course, I also invite you to read my book, Simple Islam. I explain how Islam and the Bible are irreconcilable. We need to know the personal name of God. Yehovah is the God Israel and the Bible. Islam’s god has a different name and a very different character.

And God spoke all these words, saying: “I am Yehovah your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage. “You shall have no other gods before Me. “You shall not make for yourself a carved image—any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth; you shall not bow down to them nor serve them. For I, Yehovah your God, am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children to the third and fourth generations of those who hate Me, but showing mercy to thousands, to those who love Me and keep My commandments. Exodus 20:1-6

We are living in perilous times. Make sure you know your Bible and know how to hear from the Holy Spirit. That is especially necessary for this Presidential Election. (But that is a blog for another day.)

Great News for Israeli Christians

Aramaic ChristiansMost Christians in Israel are not Arabs. This is a little known fact. The Palestinian Arab population came with the Muslim conquest hundreds of years after Jesus walked the Land. But there was another people group during that period called Arameans. Jesus Himself spoke Aramaic as well as Hebrew.

Today, most of the so-called Arab Christians are actually Arameans. The great news is that Israel has now recognized them as a separate ethnic identity among Israeli citizens. I have written of this previously, (Israeli Christian Citizens in the IDF?) but this is a further update. Here is the new article:

Israeli Christians Officially Recognized as Arameans, Not Arabs Earlier this year, Israel took the first step in recognizing the nation’s Christians as an independent minority. Now, local Israeli Christians can register as a distinct ethnicity, as well. Lumped together with the Arab population for centuries, Israel’s Population, Immigration and Border Authority (PIBA) has been instructed to now recognize the bulk of the country’s Christians as Aramaeans, the actual ethnicity of most of the region’s Christians prior to the Arab Muslim conquest. “The existence of the Aramean nationality is clear and obvious,” wrote Interior Minister Gideon Saar in his official directive to the PIBA. Saar noted that local Aramean Christians have a distinct “historical heritage, religion, culture, descent and language” – all the conditions necessary to be recognized as a national or ethnic group. The change in the national registry will be by request for those Christians born into Christian families or clans and who can speak Aramaic. Financial Spots

This decision will liberate the Aramaic Christians from being under the thumb of the Muslims. Already, these Christians are loyal citizens of Israel, serving in the Israel Defense Forces with distinction. They are clearly pro-Israel. I praise God for this wonderful news. Israel is the only nation in the Middle East where Christians are valued equally. Most Muslim countries officially discriminate against Christians at the least, and commit genocide at the worst. We need to pray for persecuted Christians and rejoice at the recognition they now have in Israel.

For he is our peace, who has made us both one, and has broken down the dividing wall of hostility, by abolishing in His flesh the enmity, which is the Law of commandments contained in ordinances, so that in Himself He might make the two into one new man, thus establishing peace. The god who is Not a Father

Wheaton professorA tenured professorship at a Bible college, and a Doctorate, do not guarantee protection from ignorance. The sad story of the Wheaton College professor confirms my point. She declared on Facebook that Christians and Muslims all worship the same god. She even quoted the Pope as her authority. I am glad for this controversy because it raise the discussion to the top priority: Who is God and what is His nature?

It started when Dr. Larycia Hawkins, a political science professor at Wheaton College, chose to wear a hijab (headscarf) in solidarity with Muslims whom she perceived to be misunderstood. It not about the hijab, it is a free country. Anyone can wear it. However, it one thing to wear it by choice as she and many Muslim women do. But in many other parts of Islam, it is not a choice but a command. Women and girls are killed for failing to wear it. This has even happened in Texas.

The answer to the ignorance is so simple, it mystifies me, that people cannot see it. The Bible, both Old and New Testaments emphatically teach that Yehovah God is a Father. Look at Psalm 2, “kiss the Son,” and Proverbs 30:4, “What is His name and His Son’s name if you know?” Of course the Gospels are based on God loving the whole world so much that He sent His Son to die for us. John 3:16

The Quran, however, adamantly defines Islam’s god as not a father. It is a blasphemous concept in the Quran. I have detailed this point in my book, Simple Islam, including quotes from the Quran.

4. And the people of the Scripture (Jews and Christians) differed not until after there came to them clear evidence. (i.e. Prophet Muhammad and whatever was revealed to him). 5. And they were commanded not, but that they should worship Al-h, and worship none but Him Alone (abstaining from ascribing partners to Him), and perform As-Salat (Iqamat-as-Salat) and give Zakat: and that is the right religion. 6. Verily, those who disbelieve (in the religion of Islam, the Qur’an and Prophet Muhammad from among the people of the Scripture (Jews and Christians) and Al-Mushrikun will abide in the Fire of Hell. Folks always like to get into the weeds and confuse the issue with complex religious arguments. But it is not complicated. If the God of the Bible is a Father, He is not the god described in the Quran. If you define your faith by anything other than the Bible, then you pick and choose anything you want to believe. The Quran and the Bible are irreconcilable. They are as different as night and day or, more precisely as different as the Moon god and the Creator God Yehovah.

To be clear, God loves Muslims and all people. He has called all to receive the promised Messiah, Yeshua. There is only one way to the Father:

Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me. If you had known Me, you would have known My Father also; and from now on you know Him and have seen Him.” Philip said to Him, “Lord, show us the Father, and it is sufficient for us.” Jesus said to him, “Have I been with you so long, and yet you have not known Me, Philip? He who has seen Me has seen the Father; so how can you say, ‘Show us the Father’? 10 Do you not believe that I am in the Father, and the Father in Me? The words that I speak to you I do not speak on My own authority;but the Father who dwells in Me does the works. Believe Me that I am in the Father and the Father in Me, or else believe Me for the sake of the works themselves.” John 14:6-11

You may not see this on TV, but one of the dead in the San Bernardino terrorist attack was a Messianic believer named Nicholas Thalasinos, age 52. His wife said he discussed with Farook two weeks ago about whether Islam was a peaceful religion.

“One of the victims of the San Bernardino shooting was identified on Thursday as a Messianic Jew who had a heated discussion with the shooter about Islam weeks b

efore the attack. … Nicholas Thalasinos passionately defended Israel, and actively debated religion in online forums and in person, his friends said. Only two weeks ago, Thalasinos was having a heated on-the-job discussion about the nature of Islam with Syed Rizwan Farook, his fellow restaurant inspector and the man police identified as the shooter.” Times of Israel

We continue to pray for all the 14 families who suffered a death yesterday as well as all the families and friends of the 21 who were wounded. In one moment the festive celebration of the holidays turned to mourning. We pray for the peace and comfort of the Holy Spirit for all at this time.

Nationally, a sober realization is sinking into most Americans. It is a time for mercy. All who call on the name of Yehovah and His Son, Jesus will be saved. Not necessarily saved from physical death, but saved for eternity. Another victim was  a father of six and an honored member of a local church in the city. I honestly don’t know how people can possibly cope with such tragedy without the Lord Jesus. I believe we will see one last great revival or awakening in the United States, but it will be from a cry for mercy rising up out of hearts calling on God. Others have also heard that it is a mercy revival.

And you He made alive, who were dead in trespasses and sins, in which you once walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit who now works in the sons of disobedience, among whom also we all once conducted ourselves in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, just as the others.
But God, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved), and raised us up together, and made us sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, that in the ages to come He might show the exceeding riches of His grace in His kindness toward us in Christ Jesus. For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast. For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them. Ephesians 2:1-10

My second newest is Simple Islam: Irreconcilable Differences Between the Bible and Islam. Contrary to majority opinion, we do not all worship the same God. Christians and Jews worship Yehovah, the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. Clearly identified as a Father in the Bible, He also has a Son. Who has ascended into heaven, or descended? Who has gathered the wind in His fists? Who has bound the waters in a garment? Who has established all the ends of the earth? What is His name, and what is His Son’s name, if you know? Proverbs 30:4 Islam, by contrast, adamantly denies their god is a father or has a son. The Jesus of the Quran is not the Son of God, and did not die. The aim of Simple Islam is to clear the chatter that confuses the issue.

Doreen’s brand new book, A Change of Plans, just arrived today. It is Book 4 in her Jewish Roots for Children Series. It completes the story of Matt, a young Christian, and Rachel, his Jewish best friend. Together they have learned about the Bible Feasts of the LORD (Yehovah). Off to Idaho

RoshHanikraSandpoint, Idaho is one of my favorite ministry destinations  and for family and friends. For a decade or more I have ministered in the area including Spokane, Washington and Libby, Montana. It is a joy and an honor to have such a privilege. My base there is my brother Ken’s church, River of Life. I appreciate my relationships with some powerful marketplace ministers in Sandpoint, led by Ross Hall. One of my favorite stops is always the Cocolalla Cowboy Church with Pastor Steve Bradshaw.

For those of you who are led to pray for me, my request is always the Apostle Paul’s plea from Ephesians.

…that utterance may be given to me, that I may open my mouth boldly to make known the mystery of the gospel, for which I am an ambassador in chains; that in it I may speak boldly, as I ought to speak.” Ephesians 6:19-20 NKJV

The key need here is for “utterance” to be given. His (and my) prayer request is not just for boldness. Anyone can whip up some soul-ish boldness, from human personality. What we desperately need is that God-given utterance from above, the anointing of the Holy Spirit. I don’t want to just spout off my opinions, I covet to speak God’s words, His revelation. So please pray for me to that end if the Lord brings me to mind in the next two weeks of Idaho ministry. Thank you so much.

And pray for me, too. Ask God to give me the right words so I can boldly explain God’s mysterious plan that the Good News is for Jews and Gentiles alike. I am in chains now, still preaching this message as God’s ambassador. We have now entered the countdown to the clash of civilizations over the Temple Mount in Jerusalem. With US elections over, much attention will now turn to Jerusalem. But even more specifically, the focus is that 32 disputed acres of flat mountain top where the glorious temple of Solomon stood over 3,000 years ago. Today it is claimed by Islam and administered by the Wakf Muslim religious authority (under Israeli sovereignty). Christians and Jews are not allowed to pray there! This is enforced by Israeli police even though freedom of religion is guaranteed by the Israeli constitution.

The Israel news is narrowing its focus more and more on this tiny hot-spot. Jordan is threatening to end its peace treaty with Israel. Even Egypt is calling for regional deterioration. Of course the Palestinians are calling for an uprising (intifada) to defend the al-Aqsa mosque which occupies the south end of the mount. 

The Lord Jesus gave me a simple illustration of the prophetic timing we have now entered. Israel became a nation in 1948. Viewing this wonderful prophetic restoration through a camera would require a wide-angle lens. The scope was the return of land itself, a modern miracle.

Then, in 1967, Israel won the Six-Day War supernaturally and regained the Old City area of Jerusalem. That camera view would use a normal lens. It was the direct fulfillment of Jesus’ own prophetic words: From 70 AD till June, 1967, Jerusalem was ruled my Gentiles. From that date till now it is under Israeli sovereignty.

And they will fall by the edge of the sword, and be led away captive into all nations. And Jerusalem will be trampled by Gentiles until the times of the Gentiles are fulfilled. Luke 21:24

We have now entered the third and last change of our camera lens. We now need a zoom lens because God’s focus is directly on the temple mount. Recent events are piling up with escalating frequency. One of the more serious was the attempted assassination of a vocal Israeli activist, Yehuda Glick, who was known for praying on the mount defying the ban.

This is even more evidence that we are in the end times. We should react with prayer and enlist as watchmen on the wall for Jerusalem. One thing is certain. God is in control and His purpose will be accomplished. Not one promise He has spoken will fail to come to pass:

Behold, this day I am going the way of all the earth. And you know in all your hearts and in all your souls that not one thing has failed of all the good things which Yehovah your God spoke concerning you. All have come to pass for you; not one word of them has failed. Joshua 23:14

Never underestimate the power of your voice

I stood in line at my local polling place this morning. In North Carolina, there is a strict no cell phones rule when inside the voting area, even if you are just standing in line. As such, I had the rare opportunity to look around and even communicated with some of the other voters in line. The volunteers were clearly anxious that there were such long lines, but to me it was thrilling.

Look at all these people here to vote! I just wanted to thank them all for showing up. And even though I don’t know every single detail of every single candidate on my ballot, I was overwhelmed with pride and gratitude that I showed up and would have my vote counted.

After a few minutes, a soldier in full uniform stood in the A-K line. I was in L-Z so we inched up at about the same pace. For a few minutes I let my mind wander throughout history, remembering those who fought for my freedom to use my voice, for those who continue to fight and for those who support them. I looked at his boots. They looked new. Had he been deployed yet? Would he be off somewhere soon? Is the woman with him his wife? Or his mother? I felt my cheeks start to warm and my eyes began to water. What a privilege. What a glorious freedom this man is giving to me. Me! That I get to have a job where I can work from home and care for my family. That I can own a home and learn about many other cultures just from my neighbors alone. That I get to have an impact on the leadership of this amazing country is just stunning when I sit back and consider the depth of what that means.

As a writer, I often use my words to express my feelings, my excitement and my random thoughts. For me, words tend to come naturally. Sometimes they touch others and sometimes they provide a needed release for me. Sometimes I stay quiet because I begin to wonder if my words are just noise. Sometimes I wonder if my voice matters.

Standing in that place today, I was reminded of true freedom. Freedom to think, freedom to act and freedom to disagree. It is an honor to cast my vote. It is my joy to use this voice.

As I left, the frazzled volunteer apologized again for the long wait. I simply said, “not a problem at all. It was worth it.” She replied, “I’m glad you feel that way. See you next time.”

And she will.

Everyone has heard about the Houston Mayor Parker who subpoenaed pastors sermons and emails for a lawsuit in which they have no part. It certainly crosses a red line of the First Amendment. So a friend on Facebook (thanks, Jane) asks if the policy will be expanded. Should Imams be forced to submit their sermons in the mosque? How about university professors? Maybe their lectures should be reviewed as well.

Anne Graham Lotz wrote a great note to the Houston Mayor. Here is a portion:

“So…I have written a note to Mayor Annise Parker, City Hall, 901 Bagby Street, Houston, Texas 77002, telling her that God loves her, that I am praying for her, and urging her to read the Bible I included with my note.  Although I am not a pastor, I also sent her a copy of the “speech” I delivered at the Official Observance of the National Day of Prayer in Washington, DC. , calling on people to repent of their sin, cry out to the Lord…for the Day of the Lord is near; it will come like destruction from the Almighty.  Joel 1:14-15

I agree with Eric Metaxas. The red line has been crossed. Persecution of God’s people has begun. In response to the question the Lord voices in Psalm 94:16, I want to answer clearly, I will!       Will you? ” Charisma News

My heading today uses the word “chilled”, perhaps it should say “killed”. We are at crossroads in our nations history. Christians must wake up, stand up and speak up. There is no time to lose. Start by voting in this critical mid-term election. Pray and compare candidates and indeed parties on how they stack up to Biblical values. This is no game, folks. If you do not vote, you can’t complain about the direction our country is headed. VOTE!

Daniel Tragerman – 4 years old

This precious little boy, Daniel Tragerman, was murdered intentionally by Hamas Friday afternoon while at home with his Israeli parents. He was playing in a tent inside his living room when a mortar exploded outside. It was shrapnel from the blast that took his life. I don’t have many words right now.

But it must be understood that Hamas fires their rockets at kindergartens and homes with the goal of killing Jewish children. That is never true of Israel’s Defense Forces. Many precious Palestinian children have also died, as human shields for Hamas, because it needs high death numbers to influence world opinion. Shame on them. Yehovah God will judge!

As we tuck in our little ones tonight, say a prayer for all the little ones on both sides of the clash of civilizations. Yes, it is also a clash of religions, one views life as sanctified by a loving God, and the other worships death as the “highest good”.

Hamas has now admitted that it was their group that kidnapped and murdered the three Israeli teens in June that caused the present escalation of thousands of Hamas rockets fired at Israel’s civilians.

“Now therefore, listen to me, my children,
For blessed are those who keep my ways.
Hear instruction and be wise,
And do not disdain it.
Blessed is the man who listens to me,
Watching daily at my gates,
Waiting at the posts of my doors.
For whoever finds me finds life,
And obtains favor from Yehovah;
But he who sins against me wrongs his own soul;

Immigration or Migration?

Here is more on my concern for America…

Today I am sharing an outstanding six-minute video exposing a myth about immigration. Do you remember the term “bleeding heart liberal”? It carried the inference that some folks used human suffering as a ploy for their political agenda. I need for you to watch this video that proves immigration of poor people to America actually worsens world poverty. It sounds so good that we are helping destitute ones, but wait till you see the effect.

Immigration or Migration? For several years now, I have explained the difference. Immigration involves someone coming to America for the American dream. They are eager to learn English, our culture, our traditions and to generally fit into society. But migration is the opposite. They insist on living here in a sort of parallel universe. This threatens the American way, especially if they happen to be drug cartels or radical Islamists or others intent on the destruction of America.

Should we harden our hearts to a needy world? Of course not, but we should find the best way to help them for the long term. Please watch the video. Patriot or Politic

July-4As we celebrate the 4th of July holiday, we celebrate freedom from tyranny. It’s a good time to review the difference between patriotism and politics. Here is a simple difference. A patriot loves his country and as JFK put it, asks not what the country can do for him, but what he can do for his country. A politician is motivated by self-interest. What can I get? What can the country do for me? I wrote about the warning Jesus gave to beware the leaven of the pharisees and of Herod. The leaven of Herod referred to political self-interest. You scratch my back, I’ll scratch yours. What can you do for me? It is known for political “horse trading”. It is all about deal making.

But a patriot is motivated by the common good. His standards are freedom, liberty, and justice for all. The tragedy of today’s divided political factions is a descent into anarchy. It is every man for himself. This is not only a breakdown of our democratic republic, but is the consequence of rejecting our Judeo-Christian heritage. Not only our heritage, but we are losing our moral, religious, and Biblical values. Without that, there is no standard to hold up before our youth as their goal and behavioral expectations. Love God and love your neighbor is Bible 101, but without it you have runaway selfishness.

One further point about the 4th of July: Our revolution did not come from a spirit of rebellion, but a reluctant separation from the tyranny of King George. (See my earlier blog: Mobs, Riots and Revolutions) Our forefathers came to this continent to live in freedom. King George enforce his rule beyond his reach and was rejected from being King. One of the most profound moments of our baby country happened when George Washington was our first President. Some wanted him to be King or a least continue as President. But he refused the personal gain and glory for the principle of changing our leadership regularly to expressly avoid the opportunity for one man control.

As we reflect on the blessings of Almighty God on this great nation this weekend, we must pray for a revival of faith and faithfulness to Yehovah God, Who is our Source. This was proclaimed clearly in our Declaration of Independence:

We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.

The Immutable God

Remote ControlI would like to define the word “immutable” for you in such a way that you will never forget. In fact, you will remember it from now on, every time you pick up your television remote control. The word “immutable” used to be a difficult concept for me to understand. The light came on for me when I thought of it in modern usage. Let’s face it. Nobody uses the word “immutable” in daily conversation. Then I remembered my TV remote control. What is your favorite button on your remote control? When I preach this message, I ask the congregation to respond. Some simply like the “ON-OFF” button. Others like the channel changers; but most people agree with me. My favorite remote control button is the “MUTE” button. It is so convenient. It seems to give me a sort of power; yes, control over the television! If I don’t like listening to a commercial, I just push the “MUTE” button and I don’t have to listen. Don’t you agree? Even if you prefer the on/off button or the channel changer button, you can see my point. There is a definite sense of control over what you see and hear. Our problem is that we live our lives as though God were a great cosmic broadcast that we could tune in/tune out: turn on/turn off; change or mute at our own whim with our trusty little remote control device. Many people don’t like what God says or does. We don’t want to listen to His voice, so we try everything to mute Him; but sooner or later we learn. YOU CAN’T MUTE GOD He is immutable! We try to make Him fit into a box. We try to change the message to something more to our liking, but it is impossible. He is unchangeable. He is in control. James 1:17 says: “with whom there is no variation or shadow of turning.” Malachi 3:6 quotes the Lord “For I am the Lord, I do not change;” and that great verse in Hebrews 13.8: “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.” GOD IS IMMUTABLE!

The apostle Paul spoke this principle in another context. “Therefore, when I was planning this, did I do it lightly? Or the things I plan, do I plan according to the flesh, that with me there should be Yes, Yes, and No, No? But as God is faithful, our word to you was not Yes and No. For the Son of God, Jesus Christ, who was preached among you by us – by me, Silvanus, and Timothy – was not Yes and No, but in Him was Yes. For all the promises of God in Him are Yes, and in Him Amen, to the glory of God through us” (I Cor.1:17-20). Not only does Paul confirm the principle of God’s truthfulness and faithfulness, but he also declares that ALL of God’s promises are still YES in Jesus!

Therefore, we see that God has in fact promised to restore the land of Israel, and that this is not a conditional or temporary promise, but He will continue to bring it to pass even to a thousand generations and will fulfill it through Jesus to the end times. The trustworthiness of its fulfillment does not depend on any people, past, present or future, but on the nature of the immutable God with whom it is impossible to lie. So if this God of truth raises His hand to signify the earnestness of His heart-given promise, we had better believe He means it and will do exactly as He says. We cannot mute God!       GOD IS FAITHFUL!

Israeli Christian Citizens in the IDF?

But today I need to inform you of a serious move among Israeli Christians from Nazareth and other Arab towns. There are two blockbuster departures from the ad nauseam narrative of Palestinian propaganda.

First, the Christians, led by Father Gabriel Nadaf (Greek Orthodox), are denying that they are Arabs at all. They claim descent from the early Christian communities of the First Century, whereas most Arabs trace their roots to Egypt and other Arab countries. (Many in the West are ignorant of Israeli demographics. Only 75% of Israelis are Jews. The non-Jew Israeli citizens are Arabs 20%, and then Druze, Christians, Bedouin and non-Arab Muslims who are full and equal citizens in Israel.

Second, these Christian Israelis earnestly want to serve in the Israel Defense Forces (IDF), and are loyal to Israel, believing that God gave the Land to Israel. Keep in mind that these Christians are a distinct and separate group from the Messianic Jews who believe Jesus (Yeshua) is the longed for Messiah of Israel. They also gladly serve in the IDF. Recently, an Arabic speaking Christian woman became an officer.

New Hope for Israeli Christians

Christian IsraeliA new report in Israel Today Magazine 4-23-14 gives hope for Christian Israeli citizens: The Israeli defense establishment this week decided to begin actively recruiting local Christians into the Israeli army. The move comes after years of encouragement by the Nazareth-based Israeli Christian Recruitment Forum for young Arabic-speaking Christians to voluntarily join the IDF so as to better integrate into Israeli society.

I have reported for several months about the changing attitude toward their Christian citizens. Where they were lumped in with Palestinian Muslims, there is a major change. The Christians themselves are asking to join the IDF and serve in other areas. They trace their roots back to early Christians hundreds of years before Islam.

The Israeli government is taking notice and taking action.

Knesset: Christians Are No Longer ‘Arabs’ Israel’s Knesset on Monday signed into law a bill that legally distinguishes between local Christians and the bulk of the Arabic-speaking population, which is primarily Muslim. The stated goal of the law is to boost Christian employment rights by recognizing them as an independent minority, and thereby granting them separate representation on local councils and employment committees. As a Christian Zionist, I am especially blessed to see this development. I see this as a first step that will lead to a great prophetic fulfillment. The time is coming when the middle wall that separates Jews and Christians, “the People of the Book,” will disappear. Jews and Christians will agree on the true Messiah and will rejoice together.

Therefore remember that you, once Gentiles in the flesh—who are called Uncircumcision by what is called the Circumcision made in the flesh by hands— that at that time you were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope and without God in the world. But now in Messiah Yeshua you who once were far off have been brought near by the blood of Messiah.

Notice the past tense: “you, once Gentiles”. I consider myself a former Gentile, I grafted into the people of Yehovah. If a Hindu accepts Jesus as the Messiah, he is a former Hindu. If a Muslim believes in Jesus as the Messiah and Son of God (Yehovah), he is a former Muslim. I used to be a Gentile, alienated from God and living in my own selfish rebellion, but now I am adopted into the family of the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. I am a former Gentile. Hallelujah!

“We demand that the State of Israel pay compensation for the ten plagues that our forefathers in Egypt suffered thousands of years ago as a result of the curses of the Jewish forefathers.” So wrote prominent Egyptian columnist Ahmad Al-Gamal shortly before the Jewish Passover, causing a great stir.”

The columnist suggested that the government in Cairo press charges against Israel: “The Jews caused the land to be stricken with locusts and all agriculture destroyed, turned the Nile red with blood so that one could drink its waters, sent darkness, frogs and killed the firstborn.”

Al-Gamal continued: “During 40 years of wandering in the desert, the Children of Israel enjoyed our goods, which they stole before abandoning us. Some Israeli columnists retorted that Egypt need first compensate Israel for keeping the Jewish forefathers as slaves and for killing all male Jewish babies in the generation prior to the Exodus.  Israel Today Magazine

So they resolved to make a proclamation throughout all Israel, from Beersheba to Dan, that they should come to keep the Passover to Yehovah God of Israel at Jerusalem, since they had not done it for a longtime in the prescribed manner. 2 Chronicles 30:5

Who is the Islamophobe?

The issue I share today is the first time I choose to use this expression. It makes my blood boil, when I hear what Brandeis University has done to one of the truly great heroes of the century. Could there be a more socially evil way of dishonoring someone than to offer an unsolicited HONORARY DEGREE (along with an invitation to speak at Commencement), and then take it back? I thought an honorary degree had something to do with honor. Hello? That is exactly what has just happened at Brandeis University. Who is the Islamophobe? It is not this indomitable lady, it is the University. They fear Islam. Shame on Brandeis University.

Here is the background. Ayaan Hirsi Ali, the outspoken activist, author, filmmaker and lecturer was supposed to be awarded an honorary degree at Brandeis University, but the school changed its mind to protect the sensibilities of its Muslim students. The protest against her began with a single petition from a Muslim student and quickly spread throughout the campus. Ali is a former Muslim who now champions Islam unchained. Now a Fellow at Harvard, she has been on the run most of her life. In the Netherlands, she wrote the script and provided the voice for “Submission” a film severely critical of Islam’s treatment of women. Her producer, Theo Van Gogh, was murdered and no place was safe for Ali. She became a fugitive until moving to the USA. 

(This summary leaves out that she escaped from Somalia after female genital mutilation, rape, beatings and terror to find a life and education and then rise as a member of Parliament in the Netherlands for several years. When her producer was murdered a note on him warned that she was next! She lives under Muslim fatwas calling for her murder.) Yet she continues to speak out and is one of nine women featured in the documentary Honor Diaries:

Honor Diaries explores violence against women in honor-based societies, with particular focus on female genital mutilation (FGM), honor violence and honor killings, early and forced marriage, and lack of access to education. The film profiles nine women’s rights activists with origins in the Muslim (and non-Muslim) world, and follows their efforts to affect change, both within their communities and beyond. Honor Diaries premiered at the Chicago International Film Festival in October 2013 and won the Interfaith Award for Best Documentary at the St. Louis International Film Festival in November 2013.

Christians persecuted by Islamists, says Prince Charles

“For 20 years I have tried to build bridges between Islam and Christianity to dispel ignorance and misunderstanding,” he told the audience. The point though, surely, is that we have now reached a crisis where bridges are rapidly being deliberately destroyed by those with a vested interest in doing so. This is achieved through intimidation, false accusation and organised persecution including to the Christian communities in the Middle East at the present time.”

Prince Charles was very tolerant and embracing of Islam in the past, but I appreciate his new statement. Perhaps he is waking up to the threat. I pray that he will be blessed with “eyes to see and ears to hear.”

It is time for the Western world to recognize the terrible persecution of Christians. It is not that we are surprised. Jesus predicted it. Yet we must pray and sound the alarm. We need to resist the propaganda that says Islam is a peaceful religion. Christians are not second class citizens in one Muslim country, but virtually every Muslim country. It is in the DNA of the religion. It is in the sacred texts of Islam.

Of course, it is not only Islam, but Hollywood and many media outlets also denigrate Christians. This is a sign of the times. We must be willing to embrace persecution. We don’t need to provoke it unnecessarily, but accept it when it comes. That does not mean we hide or hold back our confession of faith, but just don’t be surprised when persecution comes.

Jesus said: Blessed are you when they revile and persecute you, and say all kinds of evil against you falsely for My sake. Rejoice and be exceedingly glad, for great is your reward in heaven, for so they persecuted the prophets who were before you.

You have heard that it was said, ‘You shall love your neighbor and hate your enemy.’ But I say to you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you. Matthew 5:11-12, 43-44

Remember the word that I said to you, ‘A servant is not greater than his master.’ If they persecuted Me, they will also persecute you. If they kept My word, they will keep yours also. John 15:20

During this season of the Messiah’s birth, let us remember and pray for Christians suffering real tribulation even as we celebrate the great joy of our salvation: Immanuel, God with us!

Happy Thanksgivukkah!

HanukkahSo, Hanukkah 2013 begins at sundown this Wednesday and will still be the first day of Hanukkah when our family and friends sit down to our sumptuous Thanksgiving turkey Turkey 02_small about 1 pm Thursday. This coincidence last happened in 1888 and will not occur again for over 70,000 years. Thus my greeting: Happy Thanksgivukkah! We plan to give thanks around the table on Thursday for our blessings and also discuss the glorious hope of the Messiah, the Light of the World!

… TO … all my Jewish friends and to all my Christian friends. So, why should Christians celebrate this Jewish holiday? Is it given to us like all the Biblical feasts of Yehovah in Leviticus 23? No, actually it is not. Why then, should we celebrate?

I know two good reasons. First, it has genuine historic significance that changed the course of nations and fulfilled prophecy. My wife, Doreen, wrote a children’s story book called How Hanukkah saved Christmas. Had the Greeks under Antiochus succeeded in killing all the Jews and destroying the temple, Jesus could not have come. You see, He must be born a Jew, a descendant of King David. No Jews left; no Messiah. He also had to come into the temple. No temple; no fulfilled prophecy.

The second reason to celebrate has to do with the traditional miracle oil that was enough to light the temple menorah for one day, but lasted eight days, allowing time to sanctify (or dedicate) new oil. Thus the references to Hanukkah as the Festival of Lights, and Feast of Dedication.

Now it was the Feast of Dedication, and it was winter   (John 10:22).

At Jesus’ last visit to Jerusalem before His death He announced several times, leading up to the Festival of Lights, that He was the Light of the World. That generation and that Jewish culture could make no mistake about what He claimed. That is one reason He was charged with blasphemy. They knew exactly what He meant. He claimed to be the Son of God, Yeshua ben Yehovah!

Then Jesus spoke to them again, saying, “I am the light of the world. He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life.” John 8:12

Finally, today’s Israelis celebrate Hanukkah with nine candles instead of  a regular seven candle menorah. Why nine? Eight makes sense because of the eight-day miracle. But why nine? The ninth one is usually offset a bit and is called the shamash, or, servant/attendant candle. Its purpose is to light the other candles. What a great object lesson for the purpose of Jesus as the Light of the World. He brings the Light of His Father, Yehovah to all who receive Him.

Synonyms:  fraudulence, underhandedness, chicanery;

Informal:  shenanigans, funny business, monkey business, monkeyshines

Here is a partial list of Administration items that might qualify for skullduggery. Did I leave anything out? Do any of these not qualify as skullduggery?

The disastrous failure to support Iran’s dissidents, mishandling Egypt, promoting of the Arab Spring and Morsi, promoting the Muslim Brotherhood in Syria and other countries including the US, lying about radical Islam’s connections to Ft. Hood and multiple other terrorist attacks, the ban on Islam references in government documents, Benghazi lies, the Syrian zig-zag,  botched drone attacks, snooping and spying on Allies, politicizing the IRS tax authority, the NSA affair, the multiple betrayals of Israel and the ongoing persecution of her imprisoned agent, Jonathan Pollard, lying about the secret year-long Iran negotiations, lying about Palestinian “peace” talks, threatening Israel with a new intifada, regularly dis-respecting Israel’s Prime Minister, using executive orders to bypass Congress, lying about Obama-care promises to keep your doctor and your plan, the healthcare website screw-up, and finally: DENYING RESPONSIBILITY for ANY of the above. Skullduggery.

Remember the infamous comment by Hillary Clinton when asked about Bengazi? “What difference does it make?” That callous disinterest in finding the truth exposes a poisoned political culture that believes the end justifies the means. I conclude that the above list of skullduggery is not naïve or mistakes or ignorance or misguided. It is intentional. There is an agenda that is driving the decisions and wordplay. It is not accidental. We must wake up and stand for truth. We must speak up before it is too late. We must hold all of our elected leaders accountable to the foundational constitution of this blessed country.

It is not too late. I believe we will see the greatest revival of history here in the coming years. But, just as with the anti-agenda, we must be intentional. We will not keep silent. We must not be distracted by the cares of life. It is now time for every good man to come to the aid of his country. I am calling for believers to rise to the day. It is time to shine with the glory of Yehovah God. I’m not talking about guns, but the glory of Jesus. I am not preaching politics, but the Kingdom of God.

For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strongholds. 2 Corinthians 10:4

Arise, shine; for your light has come! And the glory of Yehovah is risen upon you. For behold, at a time when darkness covers the earth, My glory cloud will cover My people. Seeking Peace

IMG_20131001_140659_924This week while Washington, DC is rocking with political chaos, I have had the honor to be just about as far away from the tumult as one could imagine. My brother Ken (Idaho pastor) joined me at the Transform Our World Conference in Hawaii. It is glorious worshiping with 800 believers from six continents in this incredible island paradise.

Yet, we are on Kingdom business. Ed Silvoso continues to proclaim God’s message to disciple nations. The testimonies of cities transformed is inspiring and challenging. I have been praying for my city for about eight years. His emphasis of Luke 10 has been my pattern: Speak peace, fellowship, pray for needs and proclaim the Kingdom.

Ed and his Transformation Team quote this verse from Jeremiah that was God’s instruction for Israel regarding their looming defeat and captivity in Babylon. It applies to all of us and the city where we dwell. Notice the two phrases I have underlined.

And seek the peace of the city where I have caused you to be carried away captive, and pray to Yehovah for it; for in its peace you will have peace. Jeremiah 29:7

We are not to bad-mouth or curse our city, but seek peace. We need to proclaim the Kingdom of God over our cities, speak peace, and invite Jesus to rule and reign over our city. We will live in peace when our city is at peace. If believers are silent or negative, then the city will be turned over to the wicked, whose mouths are full of evil curses. Check out this profound verse:

By the blessing of the upright the city is exalted, But it is overthrown by the mouth of the wicked. Proverbs 11:11

Bless your city! A great way to remember to pray for your city is the 11:11 reminder. Why is that number important? Twice a day, our digital clocks have that number. Every time you notice 11:11, pray for your city and speak blessing over it.

YA’ALON: ROUHANI WILL CHEAT AND LIE TO THE UN: Defense Minister Moshe Ya’alon said this week that “The Iranian regime is the main cause of instability in the Middle East. It’s involved in every conflict through funding, training and arming the participants.” Addressing a conference of international parliamentarians, Ya’alon added that Iran is dangerous to the Middle East. “Iranian President Hassan Rouhani will cheat and lie at the UN General Assembly, and therefore we say that there must be a credible military option to stop its nuclear program,” warned Ya’alon. Iran’s new government took its diplomatic charm offensive to the UN on Monday. (Arutz-7)

NETANYAHU TO COMPARE IRAN AND NORTH KOREAN NUCLEAR ‘PLOYS’ IN UN SPEECH: PM Netanyahu will use his speech at the September UN General Assembly to compare Iran’s current diplomatic efforts on its nuclear program to North Korea’s diplomatic maneuvering prior to its testing of an atomic bomb. The sentiment of the speech echoes suspicion towards Iran’s intentions, expressed by Netanyahu last week.  He warned, then, that Iranian President Rouhani’s pledge that Iran would never develop a nuclear weapon amounted to “fraudulent words” that should fool no one. Netanyahu plans to review the history of North Korea’s negotiations, emphasizing a period of diplomacy when the North Koreans agreed to cease their nuclear weapons program in exchange for economic and other incentives – an agreement that was shortly followed by North Korea’s testing of a nuclear weapon. Last week, Netanyahu said any deal with Iran “requires” an end to enrichment and the removal of all enriched uranium. (JTA) Pray Israel will be well represented at the UN meetings – and that PM Netanyahu’s warnings regarding Rouhani and Iran will be heeded.

Pray for the peace of Jerusalem and for an abundant rainy season.

Stunning Egyptian Coup Ousts Morsi

egypt-0703-horizontal-galleryToday’s military coup has reversed the democratic election of 18 months ago which brought Mohammed Morsi and the Muslim Brotherhood to power in Egypt. Morsi was President for exactly one year. I have been declaring that he was the “cruel master” and “fierce king” of Isaiah 19. It appears now that I was wrong about Morsi being that leader. However, the overall prophecy of Isaiah 19, the “Arab Spring”chapter still holds.

The first three verses are already fulfilled and we now look elsewhere for verse four, unless Morsi has an amazing recovery of power. Who will the army choose to lead Egypt? Will he be the cruel master, fierce king; or will it be someone who follows him? You can be sure that the prophecy of Scripture will be fulfilled. The chaos and divisions are not going to heal themselves. More to come.

Annex the West Bank

It is time to annex Judea and Samaria which the world calls the West Bank. The Oslo accords have failed. The two-state plan has failed. The Middle East is on fire with the Muslim Brotherhood taking over another state every few months. Arab citizens of Israel are the only Arabs enjoying freedom, peace and liberty. Most Palestinians would be far better off as citizens of Israel. The fumbling obstinate dictatorship of Abbas is no solution. And if he achieved Palestinian statehood, he would be immediately overthrown by Hamas. It is time for Israel to act proactively. Many Israeli’s are ready for a bold solution. Even leaders in the government and the Knesset are speaking openly about annexation.

Bayit Yehudi head, Economics Minister Naftali Bennett, said Monday that the idea of establishing a Palestinian state has reached a dead end and should be forsaken. “Never in the history of Israel has so much energy been invested in something so pointless,” Bennett said at a conference on the Jewish settlers in Judea and Samaria and their depiction in the media. In recent weeks and months, public leaders and leading journalists affiliated with the settlement movement have called for annexing and incorporating all of Judea and Samaria into Israel. In response to the chaos and weakness of the Arab nations surrounding Israel and the preoccupation of the Western world with the ongoing genocide in Syria, they claim that now is the time to be proactive and go on the offensive and do what will be inevitably done anyway probably under less favorable conditions for Israel. At the same time as these discussions President Bill Clinton visited Israel this week in what I can only call a flashback to 1993. He is lost in the past of his dream of the Oslo accords. Under the headline: Clinton: Israel Must Make Peace or Disappear, Breitbart.com reported: In a speech that will no doubt incentivize Palestinians to continue their campaign of terror and warfare against Israel, former President Bill Clinton told Israel that it would have to make peace with the Palestinians if it wanted to remain Jewish and democratic. Even as far back as April 2011, the idea of annexation was gaining momentum as seen in this story about two members of Knesset and a bill proposing annexation.

MK Danon preparing bills to annex West Bank, repeal Oslo Accords; move intended to convince EU to stop UN vote on Palestinian statehood. Ideas about annexing parts of the West Bank that until recently were considered extreme have been gaining traction in the Knesset in recent weeks as the Palestinian Authority continues threatening to declare a state unilaterally in September. National Infrastructures Minister Uzi Landau raised the idea at Israel Beiteinu’s convention in Jerusalem two weeks ago. (Jerusalem Post 4/26/2011)

Syria: the Shia/Sunni War

Hezbollah1-266x200The “uncivil” civil war in Syria is clearly breaking down along Shia and Sunni lines. This is the latest in battles among fellow Muslims that go back nearly 1,500 years to the very beginnings of Islam. After Mohammed died, Islam’s first division was a fight for control between Shiite Muslims and Sunni Muslims. Today’s fighting has left 120,000 Syrians dead with 1.5 million refugees. Yet it is the same division of Muslims. Some believe another 100,000 could die in the next year alone. Hezbollah has openly joined with the Shia government of Bashar Assad. Consider this update from Israel National News (6-7-2-13).

The split between Shiites and Sunnis is deepening and the war in Syria is threatening the rest of the Muslim world. The rebels belong to Sunni Islam while the regime is Alawite, a branch of Shiism supported by Iran and assisted by fighters from the Iranian Revolutionary Guards, units from the Shiite group Hizbullah and Shiite volunteers from Iraq.

Rebels in Deir ez-Zor proclaimed war against the Shiites following their defeat in the battle in Al-Qusayr. In a video posted to YouTube they announce the launch of a sectarian war, while chanting “Death to the Shia” and recalling the 637 The Battle of al-Qadisiyyah, when Muslim Arab forces defeated the Persians.

It is a fact that Muslims have killed more Muslims since 9/11 than infidels. Yet, the God of Israel loves Muslims and desires that they be saved. Here is an excerpt from my new book, SIMPLE ISLAM:

Islamism Spreading Polio

Rarely do I quote so liberally from another blog, but this information from Daniel Pipes at Middle East Forum is so shocking you need to read it for yourself.

PolioThe polio disease was on the verge of eradication when Ibrahim Datti Ahmed, president of the Supreme Council for Sharia in Nigeria and a physician, suggested at about this time in 2003 that the vaccination program in his country was part of a Western conspiracy to render Muslim children infertile. His call for an end to the polio immunization campaign touched a nerve and spread to other Muslim religious leaders in Nigeria, causing the vaccination process to slow down and incidences of the disease to pick up.

By now, Ahmed’s paranoia has sent the new wave of polio from Nigeria to Muslim populations in at least 17 other African countries and 6 Asian countries:

Africa: Angola, Benin, Botswana, Burkina Faso, Cameroon, Chad, Central African Republic, Egypt, Ghana, Guinea, Ivory Coast, Kenya, Mali, Niger, Somalia, Sudan, and Togo.

Asia: Afghanistan, India, Indonesia, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, and Yemen.

Hang in There

Hang in there catDo you remember this poster? I always liked it as an encouragement to press on and never give up. This week my mind keeps singing a little song we sang many times in our Clearwater, Florida church over the 24 years we were there.

“He who began a good work in you, He who began a good work in you, will be faithful to complete it. He’ll be faithful to complete it. He who started the work will be faithful to complete it in you!”

It comes directly from Philippians 1:6.

Being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ.

It reminds me that God chose me; He found me. He started it. I fought Him and He won! I have walked with Him now for 50 years and I say to you: “He is faithful, even when I am not.”

I am still incomplete. He has not finished with me yet; but He will. Yehovah God, my Father started something in me all those years ago and He will complete me. As Paul testified in the above verse, so do I. “I am confident of this very thing.”

Everyone knows that Jesus was a carpenter for at least 15 years or so, but did you know He was a finish carpenter? That is why I am confident. My Father has the best finish carpenter in the universe assigned to finish what Father started. No worries.

I don’t mean to say that I have already achieved these things or that I have already reached perfection. But I press on to possess that perfection for which Christ Jesus first possessed me. No, dear brothers and sisters, I have not achieved it, but I focus on this one thing: Forgetting the past and looking forward to what lies ahead, I press on to reach the end of the race and receive the heavenly prize for which God, through Christ Jesus, is calling us. Philippians 3:12-14 NLT

The Lord gave me this word today as an exhortation to you. No matter what happens in this earthly geo-political world, God is faithful. He loves us and will finish what He started.
