Delay Israel Sovereignty: a TEST?

2 07 2020

White House Jan 28,2020The expected and hoped for announcement of extending Israeli sovereignty to some of the West Bank (Judea and Samaria), has been delayed. Prime Minister Netanyahu stated that there would be news “in the coming days.” As disappointing as it was, I believe God is allowing a test of the resolve of President Trump and the Prime Minister. Will they stick to their vows to allow the expansion or not? This will require great courage because the whole world is arrayed against them, and against the free recognition of expanded Israeli sovereignty. We need to pray through these next days and weeks for Yehovah God’s favor on our leaders and for “wisdom from above,” permeating their deliberations.

Israeli sovereignty is now officially on the clockNetanyahu is working with Trump to recognize sovereignty over approx. 30 percent of Judea and Samaria. July 1 was not a deadline.

My position is unchanged. This plan will not lead to a Palestinian state, but instead to more of the land coming into Israel’s possession. When Joshua first won the land it was city by city, not all at once.

My most serious concern is that our leaders could fail the test. For whatever reason (riots, Covid 19, or politics), they must stand together for God’s purpose to restore Israel according to God’s promises (see Ezekiel 36). This is truly in the heart of both men, but external pressures are enormous.

‘Trump would lose Evangelical support if he doesn’t support sovereignty’ – Evangelical leader Mike Evans says Evangelical community expects President Trump to recognize Jewish people’s right to the land of Israel: “Today we have a dream team. The Secretary of State is Mike Pompeo, an Evangelical, and he has changed the direction of the State Department, which has traditionally sought to weaken Israel. Vice President Mike Pence is Israel’s biggest supporter in Washington as [Israeli] Ambassador Ron Dermer has stated. And above all is President Trump, who is the biggest supporter the Evangelical community has ever had and the most pro-Israel president who has ever lived.” – Mike Evans

President Trump has made plenty of mistakes but survives primarily because of his consistent and unprecedented support for Israel. If he ever turned his back on Israel, he would be finished. Pray that he will have courage to stand firm. He is a modern King Cyrus, called to favor and restore Israel, not for his own glory but for God’s.

“And why have I called you for this work? Why did I call you by name when you did not know me? It is for the sake of Jacob my servant, Israel my chosen one. I am Yehovah; there is no other God. I have equipped you for battle, though you don’t even know me,

I will raise up Cyrus to fulfill my righteous purpose, and I will guide his actions. He will restore my city and free my captive people—without seeking a reward! I, Yehovah of Heaven’s Armies, have spoken!” Isaiah 45:4-5, 13 NLT

President Trump has recognized Jerusalem as Israel’s capital and moved our embassy there. He recognized the Golan Heights as part of Israel, and he will recognize more and more of Judea and Samaria as part of Israel. And he does this without seeking a reward, he does not accept a salary as President!

As we pray for Jerusalem, especially at this time, pray COURAGE for President Trump and Prime Minister Netanyahu.

Israel Election SUCCESS!

20 04 2020

Gantz and Netanyahu agreeWe now have a government! After three elections and a year-long stalemate, Israel finally has a unity governing agreement. Prime Minister Netanyahu will be the PM for a year and a half, followed by Gantz, also for 18 months. This is a win-win for Netanyahu and the conservative Zionist parties. Here is a countdown of the top five most important aspects of the agreement.

5. Netanyahu’s Likud Party will have the Knesset Speakership.

4. There will be a record 36 Ministers and 16 Deputy Ministers, split equally between the Center-Right and Center Left.

3. The orthodox religious parties won a victory in that the cabinet would set quotas for religious military drafts, rather than the Knesset, and thus better for orthodox males.

2. Likud won veto power in the Judicial Committee which would help turn the Supreme Court in a more conservative direction. Gantz’s former allies fume over coalition deal with Netanyahu – Lapid slams Blue and White for agreeing to allow PM ‘to appoint the judges that will adjudicate his affairs’;

And the number one victory in the agreement?

1. ANNEXATION! Netanyahu and Gantz agreed to officially begin extending Israel sovereignty into areas of Judea and Samaria (West Bank), especially the Jordan Valley. This would begin as soon as July 1, and would be in cooperation with the U.S. Deal of the Century peace plan. Unity deal allows Netanyahu to begin advancing annexation from July 1 Move must be carried out in full cooperation with US, which has all but given its blessing already; can be advanced through cabinet or Knesset, where right enjoys clear majority.

So, how does this fulfill Bible prophecy? Well, first, it finally ends the impotent Oslo Peace Plan of 1993 that has only led to bloodshed because of the Palestinian false hope. They wrongly call it “occupied territory” when the legal term is “disputed territory.”

Second, it allows Israel to legally expand to more of the Biblical Promised Land. This is as big or bigger than President Trump’s recognition of Jerusalem as Israel’s eternal capital, moving the U.S. Embassy, and Trump’s recognition of Israel’s annexation of the Golan Heights. Even though the Trump plan still talks about two states, I believe this signals the end of that false hope as well. God gave the land to Israel according to Scripture and it will be Israel’s land!

Naturally, there will be great vocal (and potentially violent) opposition, but the bottom line is that the prophetic arrow is pointing in the right direction. Yehovah God will bless Israel and the United States as this is accomplished. Those who would divide the land are on the wrong side of history as the saying goes.

At the time of those events,” says Yehovah, “when I restore the prosperity of Judah and Jerusalem, I will gather the armies of the world into the valley of Jehoshaphat. There I will judge them for harming my people, my special possession, for scattering my people among the nations, and for dividing up my land. Jewish “Deal of the Century”

28 03 2019

SovereigntySince President Trump recognized the Golan Heights as part of Israel (including redrawing the map), many Israeli’s are moving on to recognizing the West Bank as Israel. The Bible refers to that area as Judea and Samaria. From a trickle just a few years ago, it is now a flood of calls to annex or at least extend sovereignty over the West Bank.

A survey conducted by the Sovereignty Journal suggests that a large majority of Israeli Jews now oppose the two-state solution, with growing support for the application of Israeli sovereignty in Judea and Samaria. Also in the journal: There has been significant progress in the first and only Outline Plan (TAMA) to include Judea and Samaria as part of the State of Israel. ‘The Jewish Deal of the Century’ – INN

So what is the Bible context of such a goal? God’s original promise to Abraham clearly defined the final borders of Israel. The question is only: When will this happen?

So Yehovah made a covenant with Abram that day and said, “I have given this land to your descendants, all the way from the border of Egypt to the great Euphrates River… Genesis 15:18 NLT

US Recognition of the Golan Paves Way for Other Biblical Lands – An Israeli official pointed to US President Donald Trump’s recognition of Israeli sovereignty on the Golan Heights as an opportunity to officially reclaim other biblical lands captured during the Six Day War. (Israel Today)

Mr. President, let’s repeat Golan Heights in Judea and Samaria – Trump could well turn his attention now to recognising the legal right of Jews to live in Judea and Samaria. (INN)

US redrawing official maps to include Golan as part of Israel – State Department official says maps will be updated to reflect change in policy and Israel’s need for ‘secure and defensible borders’ (Times of Israel)

At the time of those events,” says Yehovah, “when I restore the prosperity of Judah and Jerusalem, I will gather the armies of the world into the valley of Jehoshaphat. There I will judge them for harming my people, my special possession, for scattering my people among the nations, and for dividing up my land. Annex the West Bank

24 06 2013

Israeli flag flutters over view of Jewish settlement of OfraThere is a time for everything under the sun, according to King Solomon:

To everything there is a season, A time for every purpose under heaven. Ecclesiastes 3:1

It is time to annex Judea and Samaria which the world calls the West Bank. The Oslo accords have failed. The two-state plan has failed. The Middle East is on fire with the Muslim Brotherhood taking over another state every few months. Arab citizens of Israel are the only Arabs enjoying freedom, peace and liberty. Most Palestinians would be far better off as citizens of Israel. The fumbling obstinate dictatorship of Abbas is no solution. And if he achieved Palestinian statehood, he would be immediately overthrown by Hamas. It is time for Israel to act proactively. Many Israeli’s are ready for a bold solution. Even leaders in the government and the Knesset are speaking openly about annexation.

HotovelyDeputy Transportation Minister MK Tzipi Hotovely (Likud) said on Sunday that it was time that the Israeli government take steps to annex Judea and Samaria, even if it comes with the price of giving citizenship to Arabs residing in these areas. Speaking to Arutz Sheva, Hotovely said that offering citizenship to Palestinian Authority Arabs would be a small price pay for ending the status quo which brings international criticism of Israel, viewed as an “occupier” in Judea and Samaria. (INN 6/24/2013)

Bayit Yehudi head, Economics Minister Naftali Bennett, said Monday that the idea of establishing a Palestinian state has reached a dead end and should be forsaken. “Never in the history of Israel has so much energy been invested in something so pointless,” Bennett said at a conference on the Jewish settlers in Judea and Samaria and their depiction in the media. (INN 6/17/2013,)

Op-Ed: Annexation: Should Israel Make Her Move Now? by Ron Jager in Israel National News. In recent weeks and months, public leaders and leading journalists affiliated with the settlement movement have called for annexing and incorporating all of Judea and Samaria into Israel. In response to the chaos and weakness of the Arab nations surrounding Israel and the preoccupation of the Western world with the ongoing genocide in Syria, they claim that now is the time to be proactive and go on the offensive and do what will be inevitably done anyway probably under less favorable conditions for Israel. (INN 6/20/2013)

At the same time as these discussions President Bill Clinton visited Israel this week in what I can only call a flashback to 1993. He is lost in the past of his dream of the Oslo accords. Under the headline: Clinton: Israel Must Make Peace or Disappear, Breitbart.com reported: In a speech that will no doubt incentivize Palestinians to continue their campaign of terror and warfare against Israel, former President Bill Clinton told Israel that it would have to make peace with the Palestinians if it wanted to remain Jewish and democratic. (See Palestinian reaction here.)

Even as far back as April 2011, the idea of annexation was gaining momentum as seen in this story about two members of Knesset and a bill proposing annexation.

MK Danon preparing bills to annex West Bank, repeal Oslo Accords; move intended to convince EU to stop UN vote on Palestinian statehood. Ideas about annexing parts of the West Bank that until recently were considered extreme have been gaining traction in the Knesset in recent weeks as the Palestinian Authority continues threatening to declare a state unilaterally in September. National Infrastructures Minister Uzi Landau raised the idea at Israel Beiteinu’s convention in Jerusalem two weeks ago. (Jerusalem Post 4/26/2011)

It is time for Israel to annex Judea and Samaria politically, demographically and most important prophetically.

And I will make them one nation in the land, on the mountains of Israel; and one king shall be king over them all; they shall no longer be two nations, nor shall they ever be divided into two kingdoms again. Ezekiel 37:22
