This week’s flooding rain and hail in Israel was a mixed blessing. It was an answer to prayer for God’s favor (which is often characterized as rain). Yet this time there were 15 deaths from the flooding. The worst incident was ten teenagers on a desert hike on Thursday, with a pre-military program. They were all 18 years old. Two leaders of the trip have been arrested. Nine were girls and one boy died. Israel is in mourning. The other deaths were a Bedouin teen and a Palestinian woman on Wednesday and two young Palestinian children in Hebron, aged 9 & 10 on Friday. We need to pray for all the families. Pray.
However, for so much rain to fall at the end of April is a sign that maybe the five year drought may be ending. We will continue to pray for rain and perhaps include a prayer for safety as well. Here are some of the reports for your interest.

Even in this time of glorious celebration of Israel’s 70th year as a modern nation, they are faced with a tragic time of mourning. Our hearts break for them. I pray that they will experience the comfort of the Holy Spirit and place their trust in the Messiah of Israel. Many hearts are open in Israel as you could see in my previous blog video (below). Yehovah God is still with us even in times of terrible loss. Most of the world this week is abuzz with North Korea and Iran and other news. But Israel has taken a body blow this week.
More than ever today, I ask that you join me to pray for the peace of Jerusalem and for rain, but including protection from all kinds of the floods of life.
“Comfort, yes, comfort My people!” says your God. “Speak comfort to Jerusalem, and cry out to her, that her warfare is ended, that her iniquity is pardoned; for she has received from Yehovah’s hand double for all her sins.” The voice of one crying in the wilderness: “Prepare the way of Yehovah; Make straight in the desert a highway for our God. Every valley shall be exalted and every mountain and hill brought low; The crooked places shall be made straight and the rough places smooth; The glory of Yehovah shall be revealed, and all flesh shall see it together; for the mouth of Yehovah has spoken.” Isaiah 40:1-5

Last weekend this flag was flying on the Gaza border. Hamas does not hide its goal, which is not for its own state, but for the death of all Jews and indeed the complete destruction of the nation of Israel. Notice the Nazi swastika flying between the two Palestinian flags.

Turquoise water — tan sand — and a tangerine sun! It was without question one of the most beautiful and indescribable sights of my life. Words fail to adequately portray the splendor on that exquisite shore of the timeless Red Sea. My friend, Duane Trochessett, and I had just come from Jerusalem in January 1990. We had participated in the most powerful prayer conference we had ever attended. After speaking to a congregation in Tiberias on Shabbat, Israel’s Sabbath, we traversed Israel from Galilee in the North, to the southernmost Israeli seaport of Elat. This modern city is located at the northern tip of the Red Sea. From there, we endured a rickety Egyptian public bus ride five hours further south through the Sinai Peninsula to a spot near its southernmost point. We lugged a two-man tent with us, which we pitched on a deserted stretch of Red Sea beach, a few miles north of Sharm el Sheikh, Egypt.

And it shall happen in that day that I will make Jerusalem a very heavy stone for all peoples; all who would heave it away will surely be cut in pieces, though all nations of the earth are gathered against it.

Miracle Sign of the Messiah
2 05 2018For believing Jews, it the first coming of the Messiah. For Messianic Jews and Christians, it is His second coming. That distinction is the major issue. There is a greater distinction between believing Jews and non-believing Jews. The same is true for Christians. Many Jews and Christians are not actually believing in the Messiah. They are just nominally following a religion. But there are millions of Jews who know the God of Israel, worship Him from the heart, and are waiting expectantly for the Messiah.
The same is true in “Christendom”. Many are Christian in name only and don’t know Jesus. They do not believe He is coming soon. Yet, millions of Christians know the God of Israel and the Bible. They eagerly look for the Messiah Jesus to return. I submit that the believing Jews and Christians have more in common than their un-believing brothers and sisters.
The miracle resurrection of Israel is a great sign that the end of the age in near. Add to that the restoration of the people to the land, the resurrection of the Hebrew language, the liberation of Jerusalem, and even the restoration of the personal name of the covenant God of Israel: Yehovah! What a day to be alive. What a day to be His child!
If God raised a nation from the dead, don’t you think He can handle your problems? If you have not believed, isn’t it about time? Put all your eggs in one basket. Trust in God and His promised Messiah. This is the season of His appearing.
Pray for the coming of the Messiah and pray for the peace of Jerusalem!
