Dilemma of American Jews

I have long admired Sali Kirchen, affectionately known as the LSW Long Suffering Wife, of Yaakov Kirchen. I had the honor of speaking with them briefly on one of my visits to Israel He was Israel’s most beloved cartoonist, famous for his Dry Bones cartoon commentary dating back to 1973 in the Jerusalem Post. Since he passed, his memory is a blessing, and Sali has continued by posting appropriate cartoons for today’s events. She does a great job. This cartoon I have used today is strikingly prescient. Here was Sali’s introduction to today’s cartoon:

“Good News – Bad News  The good news is that we love and trust our Christian believer friends instead of fear them. Look, for example, at Mike Huckabee, the American Ambassador to Israel.  Yaakov knew that they were our allies. But the bad news is that the situation on our university campuses has gotten even much, much worse. Here is a fun and ironic Dry Bones cartoon from 2005.” 

This Dry Bones cartoon was prescient because it really was: “Perceiving the significance of events before they occur.” There was plenty of evidence in history for Jews to fear Christians because of crusades, pogroms, national expulsions of all Jews, and of course, the Holocaust. As far as the Jews knew, Hitler was a Lutheran Christian. Today’s Zionist Christians totally repudiate Hitler and the Nazis as Satanic evil. Yet, even today there is rising antisemitism in “Christian” churches. I put it in quotes because those are non-Biblical churches. Most of the mainline churches have rejected the Bible as God’s Word, which is the very definition of apostasy. Even in Hitler’s Germany there were true Christian believers who understood the overwhelming evidence of God’s faithfulness to Israel. They hid Jews and fought against the Nazis. That minority of believers are now honored by Israel as “the righteous among the nations.”

Antisemitism is not only on our campuses today, it is in mainline churches and even threatening Bible churches through the lies and propaganda. Christian Zionists number in the millions in America and are Israel’s staunchest supporters, yet we are in the minority of “Christendom,” a term I use to delineate unbelievers who call themselves Christians but deny the Bible. This distinction may also apply to Jews. Some believe God and His promised Messiah, but many have turned away to worldly pursuits. Christians believe Jesus/Yeshua is the Messiah while believing Jews believe in the Messiah to come. I welcome the day when all true believers agree on the true Messiah.

So, the dilemma of which I speak, is a choice for Jews and Christians as well. Are we standing with God’s ancient purpose and promises revealed in the Bible? Or, are we choosing the path of self pleasure and worldly gain? Choose wisely.

“Now therefore, fear Yehovah, serve Him in sincerity and in truth, and put away the gods which your fathers served on the other side of the River and in Egypt. Serve Yehovah! And if it seems evil to you to serve Yehovah choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the River, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you dwell. But as for me and my house, we will serve Yehovah.” Joshua 24:14-15

Ruth and the Gentile Church

Stand with Israel

Now more than ever Christians need to stand with Israel for two reasons. We will be blessed according to God’s promise, and Israel will be comforted. When Ruth the Moabite chose to leave her own country and follow her mother in law Naomi to Israel, Ruth was blessed. She took her place in the genealogy of the Messiah Yeshua.

But Ruth said: “Entreat me not to leave you, or to turn back from following after you; for wherever you go, I will go; and wherever you lodge, I will lodge; Your people shall be my people, and your God, my  God. Where you die, I will die, and there will I be buried. Yehovah do so to me, and more also, if anything but death parts you and me.”  Ruth 1:16-17

This reference is engraved in our wedding rings regarding Doreen’s and my love for each other, but also our mutual covenant to stand with Israel.  – Israel’s God Yehovah is our God. – Israel’s Messiah Yeshua is our Messiah. We are part of the “one new man” as former Gentiles grafted into Israel by the Holy Spirit.

“For He Himself is our peace, who has made both one, and has broken down the middle wall of separation, having abolished in His flesh the enmity, that is, the law of commandments contained in ordinances, so as to create in Himself one new man from the two, thus making peace,”  Ephesians 2:14-15

This unified new man is the only way to world peace through the Kingdom of God and His Son, Jesus. No wonder Satan is pumping up the anti-Semitism everywhere.

Are Jews Safe in America?

It is not yet obvious to most, but the inevitable persecution of Jews in America has begun. The rise of anti-Semitism is well documented, but what does it mean? Yehovah God promised that He would gather the exiles (outcasts) of Israel from the whole world. That includes the United States. Only Israel with seven million Jews has more Jews than America. Around five million still live here, far more than any other country. Yet God is calling them home. Remember the main text of my book, Speak to the Dirt! Ezekiel prophesied their return from all countries.

And I will sanctify My great name, which has been profaned among the nations, which you have profaned in their midst; and the nations shall know that I am Yehovah,” says the Lord Yehovah, “when I am hallowed in you before their eyes. For I will take you from among the nations, gather you out of all countries, and bring you into your own land. Then I will sprinkle clean water on you, and you shall be clean; I will cleanse you from all your filthiness and from all your idols. I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you; I will take the heart of stone out of your flesh and give you a heart of flesh. I will put My Spirit within you and cause you to walk in My statutes, and you will keep My judgments and do them. Then you shall dwell in the land that I gave to your fathers; you shall be My people, and I will be your God. Ezekiel 36:23-28

FISHER AND HUNTERS – Notice that it clearly declares they will return from “all countries.” How does He do it? Sadly, there are three stages. First, the call goes out to return. Then God sends “fishers” to fish those out who are ready. But, finally He has to send “hunters” to provoke the stragglers to make the move to the chosen land of Israel.

“Therefore behold, the days are coming,” says Yehovah, “that it shall no more be said, ‘Yehovah lives who brought up the children of Israel from the land of Egypt,’ but, ‘Yehovah lives who brought up the children of Israel from the land of the north and from all the lands where He had driven them.’ For I will bring them back into their land which I gave to their fathers. “Behold, I will send for many fishermen,” says Yehovah, “and they shall fish them; and afterward I will send for many hunters, and they shall hunt them from every mountain and every hill, and out of the holes of the rocks.” Jeremiah 16:14-16

Pray that American Jews will heed the call and return without the necessity of “hunters.”

The Answer to: WHY Anti-Semitsm?

With the recent sharp rise in anti-Semitic attacks against Jews, a fundamental question begs an answer. Statistics are abundant, but what is behind the hatred of Jews, not just now, but throughout history? The answer is simple and may surprise you. Jews are not the true object of the hatred. They are substituted for the real hatred. Why them? The answer is in Psalm 83 and Zechariah 2. God’s enemies cannot reach Him, so they go after His chosen people. It will never stop before the Messiah comes.

Do not keep silent, O God! ​​Do not hold Your peace, and do not be still, O God! ​​For behold, Your enemies make a tumult; and those who hate You have lifted up their head. ​​They have taken crafty counsel against Your people, and consulted together against Your sheltered ones. ​​They have said, “Come, and let us cut them off from being a nation, ​​That the name of Israel may be remembered no more.” ​​For they have consulted together with one consent; they form a confederacy against You:  Psalm 83:1-5

The hatred is against Yehovah God. It issues forth from the very hatred and rebellion of Satan himself against God. The devil cannot touch God, so he goes after God’s beloved people. He orchestrates hatred and violence against Israel trying to get back at Yehovah.

For thus says Yehovah of hosts: “He sent Me after glory, to the nations which plunder you; for he who touches you touches the apple of His eye.  Zechariah 2:8

The devil has been trying to seduce man since the garden of Eden. He has been trying to prevent the Messiah’s salvation since the beginning. Even after seeing Jesus killed, he still lost when the Messiah was resurrected from the dead! Satan hates God. He instills this hatred in all who fall under his influence. The parallels between now and pre-war Nazi Germany are striking.

As long as this present world keeps talking about race or economics or politics to justify or explain anti-Semitism, they will never understand the real source of the evil hatred. It is destined to culminate in the battle of the ages between heaven and hell when the Messiah comes. But as stated, Satan has already lost; because Jesus Himself is the resurrection and the life!

Pray for the peace of Jerusalem and thank God for the rain and snow this season.

Have you noticed the common denominator with dictators, terrorists and all who hate freedom? They all hate Israel and the Jews. We have discussed the great division of “sheep and goat” nations, and it always comes down to their stance regarding Israel.

When the Son of Man comes in His glory, and all the holy angels with Him, then He will sit on the throne of His glory. All the nations will be gathered before Him, and He will separate them one from another, as a shepherd divides his sheep from the goats. And He will set the sheep on His right hand, but the goats on the left. Then the King will say to those on His right hand, ‘Come, you blessed of My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world’:   Matthew 25:32

Don’t you think it is strange that Muslims who hate democracy and freedom seem to be allied with the radical left-wing Marxists and anarchists like Antifa? The “resistance” mantra of the new left in the Democrat Party (see Women’s March) is laced with anti-Semitism.

It would appear that we have reached that point in prophetic history where demons of hell are released on the earth.

And he opened the bottomless pit, and smoke arose out of the pit like the smoke of a great furnace. So the sun and the air were darkened because of the smoke of the pit. Then out of the smoke locusts came upon the earth. And to them was given power, as the scorpions of the earth have power. Revelation 9:2-3

When Yehovah God first spoke His promise to Abram, it was regarding the one nation of Israel that would, in turn, bless all the families of the earth. “I will bless those who bless you, and I will curse him who curses you.” Genesis 12:3 Think of it in a more practical way. If you need finances, pray for Israel’s finances. If you need healing, pray for Israel’s healing. If you need protection, pray for Israel’s protection. If you need peace, pray for the peace of Jerusalem. Do you see my point?

Pittsburgh Anti-Semitic Killer Treated by Jewish Staff

Our God is the God of mercy. How ironic that the head doctor at the hospital that cared for the anti-Semitic terrorist murderer in the synagogue is Jewish and the first three nurses and staff members healing him were also Jewish. Even in the darkest night the light will shine. One of the nurses is the daughter of a Rabbi. Praise the Lord for His love and mercy.

PITTSBURGH — Jewish doctors and nurses at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh put their personal feelings aside to help save the life of the man who allegedly claimed he wanted to “kill all the Jews” as he opened fire at a synagogue and murdered 11 worshipers. 

“He was taken to my hospital and he’s shouting, ‘I want to kill all the Jews’,” Dr. Jeffrey Cohen, president of Allegheny General Hospital and a member of the Tree of Life Synagogue, told ABC. “The first three people who took care of him were Jewish.”

Another nurse, whose father is a rabbi, “came in from a mass casualty drill and took care of this gentleman.”  Fox News

Yehovah God is able to make something good out of the most evil events. This was the most anti-Semitic attack in US history. According to the Jerusalem Post, anti-Semitic incidents increase by 60% in America in 2017. The 2016 breakdown of hate crimes showed that approximately 54% were anti-Jewish, 24% were anti-Islamic.

The Bible reveals evil, and clearly does not say all things are good. But it does say God can make evil things work out for His good purposes.

And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose. Romans 8:28

Pray for the families and survivors that they will find comfort in the God of Israel. Also, please continue to pray for rain in Israel and peace for Jerusalem.

Jews Blamed: Puerto Rico Relief Failures

A column published by Puerto Rico’s most circulated newspaper said disaster relief decisions on the island are controlled “behind closed doors” by “the Jews.” Wilda Rodriguez, a columnist for San Juan’s El Nuevo Dia, writes in the piece “What does ‘the Jew’ want with the colony?” that “the Jews” are the “secret structure that rules the United States … behind closed doors.” Dry Bones

Top Puerto Rican Newspaper Blames ‘the Jew’ for Disaster Relief Failures –  “Only behind closed doors do the most elite politicians speak of the power of the American people as a parallel government organized by the forces of wealth and violence (the war machine) from Wall Street,” Rodriguez wrote. “It is not Congress. The Congress will in the end do what ‘the Jew’ wants.” The Washington Free Beacon

Puerto Rico’s largest newspaper removes anti-Semitic column from website – The El Nuevo Dia newspaper apologized late last week for publishing the January 8 column by Wilda Rodríguez titled “What does ‘the Jew’ want with the colony?” but never removed it from the website. Rodriguez also apologized in a statement on the website. “I deeply regret that my writing is interpreted as anti-Semitic … I apologize to those who in good faith have felt hurt by my political allusion,” she wrote, adding that she “can understand the psychic reaction of some to the mere use of the Jewish word. But the intention is not to provoke offense, but to contribute to public discussion.” Times of Israel

Did you notice that her “apology” was one of those that blames those who “interpreted” her remarks as anti-semitic? Remarks like those in her column are rampant in the Muslim world, but are rather shocking in a United States territory. Thankfully, the paper did eventually remove the column from its website. But, don’t be fooled. Anti-Semitism is alive and well in the hearts of many. Pray for a love of the truth.

The coming of the lawless one is according to the working of Satan, with all power, signs, and lying wonders, and with all unrighteous deception among those who perish, because they did not receive the love of the truth, that they might be saved. And for this reason God will send them strong delusion, that they should believe the lie.  2 Thessalonians 2:9-11

The day before, they killed a Christian man and burned his son alive, killing three other Christians in drive-by shootings. Egypt’s Christians flee Sinai amid Islamic State killing spree Christian families and students fled Egypt’s North Sinai province in droves on Friday after Islamic State killed the seventh member of their community in just three weeks. Reuters

And it will be for a sign and for a witness to Yehovah of hosts in the land of Egypt; for they will cry to Yehovah because of the oppressors, and He will send them a Savior and a Mighty One, and He will deliver them. Then Yehovah will be known to Egypt, and the Egyptians will know Yehovah in that day, and will make sacrifice and offering; yes, they will make a vow to Yehovah and perform it. And Yehovah will strike Egypt, He will strike and heal it; they will return to Yehovah, and He will be entreated by them and heal them.Isaiah 19:20-22

We must pray for the Christians now being targeted all over the world. More Christians have died as martyrs in the 20th century until 2017, than the last two thousand years combined. We are also seeing a dangerous escalation of anti-Semitic attacks in recent years. Pray for Christians and pray for the peace of Jerusalem.

Why Does the World Hate the Jews?

Here is a great short essay on anti-Semitism that I found  on Got Questions.org while researching for my talk next Tuesday at the ICON Lecture Series in Chapel Hill, NC. I will not have time to go into this part, so decided to share it here. Why do you think the world hates Jews?

Why is anti-Semitism so rampant in so many different nations? What is so bad about the Jews? History has shown that at various times over the last 1,700 years the Jews have been expelled from over 80 different countries. Historians and experts have concluded there are at least six possible reasons:

• Racial Theory – the Jews are hated because they are an inferior race.
• Economic Theory – the Jews are hated because they possess too much wealth and power.
• Outsiders Theory – the Jews are hated because they are different from everyone else.
• Scapegoat Theory – the Jews are hated because they are the cause for all the world’s problems.
• Deicide Theory – the Jews are hated because they killed Jesus Christ.
• Chosen People Theory – the Jews are hated because they arrogantly declare they are the “chosen ones of God.”

Is there any substance to these theories?

• With respect to the racial theory, the truth is that the Jews are not a race. Anyone in the world of any color, creed or race can become a Jew.

• The economic theory citing that the Jews are wealthy doesn’t hold much weight. History has shown that during the 17th through the 20th centuries, especially in Poland and Russia, the Jews were desperately poor and had very little, if any, influence in business or political systems.

• As for the outsiders’ theory, during the 18th century, the Jews desperately tried to assimilate with the rest of Europe. They had hoped that assimilation would cause anti-Semitism to disappear. However, they were hated even more by those who claimed the Jews would infect their race with inferior genes. This was especially true in Germany prior to World War II.

• As for the scapegoat theory, the fact is that the Jews have always been hated, which makes them a very convenient target.

• As for the idea of deicide, the Bible makes it clear that the Romans were the ones who actually killed Jesus, though the Jews acted as accomplices. It wasn’t until a few hundred years later that the Jews were cited as the murderers of Jesus. One wonders why the Romans are not the ones hated. Jesus Himself forgave the Jews (Luke 23:34). Even the Vatican absolved the Jews of Jesus’ death in 1963. Nevertheless, neither statement has diminished anti-Semitism.

• As for their claim to being the “chosen people of God,” the Jews in Germany rejected their “chosen-ness” status during the later part of the 19th century to better assimilate into German culture. Nevertheless, they suffered the Holocaust. Today, some Christians and Muslims claim to be the “chosen people” of God, yet for the most part, the world tolerates them and still hates the Jews.

This brings us to the real reason by the world hates the Jews. The apostle Paul tells us, “For I could wish that I myself were cursed and cut off from Christ for the sake of my brothers, those of my own race, the people of Israel. Theirs is the adoption as sons; theirs the divine glory, the covenants, the receiving of the law, the temple worship and the promises. Theirs are the patriarchs, and from them is traced the human ancestry of Christ, who is God over all, forever praised!” (Romans 9:3-5). The truth is that the world hates the Jews because the world hates God. The Jews were God’s firstborn, His chosen people (Deuteronomy 14:2). Through the Jewish patriarchs, the prophets, and the temple, God used the Jews to bring forth His Word, the Law, and morality to a world of sin. He sent forth His son, Jesus the Christ, in a Jewish body to redeem the world of sin. Satan, the prince of the earth (John 14:30; Ephesians 2:2), has poisoned the minds of men with his hated of the Jews. See Revelation 12 for an allegorical depiction of Satan’s (the dragon’s) hatred of the Jewish nation (the woman).

Satan has tried to wipe out the Jews through the Babylonians, the Persians, the Assyrians, the Egyptians, the Hittites, and the Nazis. But he’s failed every time. God is not finished with Israel. Romans 11:26 tells us that some day all Israel will be saved, and this cannot come to pass if Israel no longer exists. Therefore, God will preserve the Jews for the future, just as He has preserved their remnant throughout history, until His final plan comes to pass. Nothing can thwart God’s plan for Israel and the Jewish people. (Entire quote here)

Anti-Semitism Defined

If these two examples are not considered anti-semitism, what is? Today let me offer two articles this week. Here is a quote from each article followed by a link to each article. What do you think?
