A surprising new movement in Israel is shaking the myth of “Israeli Apartheid,” which I have referenced before. But today I need to inform you of a serious move among Israeli Christians from Nazareth and other Arab towns. There are two blockbuster departures from the ad nauseam narrative of Palestinian propaganda.
First, the Christians, led by Father Gabriel Nadaf (Greek Orthodox), are denying that they are Arabs at all. They claim descent from the early Christian communities of the First Century, whereas most Arabs trace their roots to Egypt and other Arab countries. (Many in the West are ignorant of Israeli demographics. Only 75% of Israelis are Jews. The non-Jew Israeli citizens are Arabs 20%, and then Druze, Christians, Bedouin and non-Arab Muslims who are full and equal citizens in Israel.
Second, these Christian Israelis earnestly want to serve in the Israel Defense Forces (IDF), and are loyal to Israel, believing that God gave the Land to Israel. Keep in mind that these Christians are a distinct and separate group from the Messianic Jews who believe Jesus (Yeshua) is the longed for Messiah of Israel. They also gladly serve in the IDF. Recently, an Arabic speaking Christian woman became an officer.
Meet the IDF’s First Female Christian Officer Yasmin Chayach (pictured) is part of a growing movement of young Arabic-speaking Israeli Christians who are choosing to do national service. Many of these young people have come to understand, contrary to mainstream teachings in the Arab world, that Israel is not their enemy, but rather their safe haven. As such, they are increasingly eager to integrate with Israeli Jewish society and become strong, loyal and productive citizens of the state. Israel Today
For he is our peace, who has made us both one, and has broken down the dividing wall of hostility, by abolishing in His flesh the enmity, which is the Law of commandments contained in ordinances, so that in Himself He might make the two into one new man, thus establishing peace. Ephesians 2:14-15 NASB
Pray for the true peace of Jerusalem!
