A Dry Bones New Year

Here is a sampling of my favorite Israeli cartoonist, Yaakov Kirschen. His humorous view of very serious subjects makes him a major influencer in Israel and the West. Pray for him.

A brave Iranian woman protests the sexist, anti-woman, and abusive rule of the Iranian dictatorship. It is an embarrassment that feminist and women’s groups across the West are not marching in solidarity in the streets of our cities.

The Lion and the Sun are traditional emblems of the Persian nation. They remained the official symbol of Iran until the 1979 revolution, when the “Lion and Sun” symbol was removed from public spaces and government organizations

Iran will come against Israel, but only after the Psalm 83 War (which lists each country by name, not including Iran. Only after this, and a time of peace, do we get to the Ezekiel 38 War of Gog and Magog which includes Iran/Persia by name. Therefore I see Iran diminished somehow in the present time, perhaps by an internal uprising.

Good report of rain and snow this week in Israel. Keep praying. And as we pray for the peace of Jerusalem, let’s also pray for Iranian freedom.

Israel is on the Trump Train

While you were celebrating the holidays, Israel made a momentous decision.

Israel Announces “Donald Trump Train Station” in Jerusalem Israel Railways has decided to name the final stop on its soon-to-open high-speed Tel Aviv-Jerusalem line after US President Donald Trump. Israel Today

There is an outpouring of appreciation for President Trump because of his historic decision to recognize Jerusalem as Israel’s capital, along with moving the US Embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem. The new high-speed train was supposed to end at the Central Bus Station, but will now end in the Jewish Quarter of the Old City (near the Roman Cardo, for you who have been to Israel).

“But that’s not all!” as they say in TV infomercials. The Trump name will likely appear on streets and parks as well. But before you criticize, consider that the Palestinians regularly and systematically name streets, parks and soccer stadiums in “honor” of terrorists.

“So what?” you may ask. Well, Israel’s response to Trump’s recognition reveals the reality of the deep connection between our two countries. The United States was indisputably founded on Judeo/Christian principles, in other words, the Bible. To feign neutrality is to deny reality. The Trump foreign policy is reality based. By taking leadership in the world regarding Israel, Trump assures the continued blessing of Yehovah God on our own land.

Yehovah had said to Abram, “Leave your native country, your relatives, and your father’s family, and go to the land that I will show you. I will make you into a great nation. I will bless you and make you famous, and you will be a blessing to others. I will bless those who bless you and curse those who treat you with contempt. All the families on earth will be blessed through you.” Genesis 12:1-3

This is why I believe 2018 is a time of blessing and favor for the US, as I wrote in my blog last week. Pray for the peace of Jerusalem and pray for rain.

Don’t Miss the Point of Immanuel

One of the most important names of Jesus is Immanuel, which means “God with us!”

“Behold, the virgin shall be with child, and bear a Son, and they shall call His name Immanuel,” which is translated, “God with us.” Matthew 1:23 (This is a direct quote from Isaiah 7:14)

Jesus, or Yeshua, means salvation. One of my new favorites is Yeshua ben Yehovah or Jesus Son of God. But the point of His name, Immanuel, is that Jesus, the Messiah, is Yehovah God with us manifested as the Son. It is a non-negotiable core belief of true believers. He was not just sent from God, He is God in the flesh. This is critical.

Muslims believe in a false god even though they have a “prophet” Jesus, or Isa in Arabic. But they don’t believe He is Yehovah’s Son. In fact, they consider it blasphemous. Yet, it is true whether or not they believe. When they accept Jesus as Immanuel, they are accepted into the house of faith.

Jews come at it differently. They do believe in the true God, Yehovah. But, even though the Bible speaks of His Son in Psalm 2 and Proverbs 30:4, they don’t believe Yeshua is the son of Yehovah. That is why this verse is so profound for Jewish believers.

Who has ascended into heaven, or descended?
Who has gathered the wind in His fists?
Who has bound the waters in a garment?
Who has established all the ends of the earth?
What is His name, and what is His Son’s name,
If you know? Proverbs 30:4

O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, the one who kills the prophets and stones those who are sent to her! How often I wanted to gather your children together, as a hen gathers her chicks under her wings, but you were not willing! See! Your house is left to you desolate; for I say to you, you shall see Me no more till you say, “Blessed is He who comes in the name of Yehovah!” Matthew 23:38-39

This is not a generic representation of the Name, but the exact embodiment of Yehovah Himself! You may understand why the Jews also consider this blasphemous. It is precisely why he was crucified. Some of the Jews in that day received Him as the Son of God, but others did not. Although the above quote speaks of judgment on that generation, it also speaks of compassion and the certainty of a future time when their descendants would indeed recognize that Messiah Yeshua is the actual Son of Yehovah God!

My book, Blessing Israel, speaks of the coming merger of Jew and former gentiles into the commonwealth of Israel as one new man in Yeshua Immanuel! His death served as the ultimate payment for the sins of the world as the LAMB OF GOD!

We pray for the salvation of Israel, the Muslims and for all the nations.

Therefore whoever confesses Me before men, him I will also confess before My Father who is in heaven. But whoever denies Me before men, him I will also deny before My Father who is in heaven. Matthew 10:32-33

What Silent Years?

Scholars commonly speak of 400 years of silence between the Old and New Testaments. However, try telling that to the Maccabees and Simeon. Here are two proofs of profound prophetic activity during the so-called silent years.

Maccabees – Doreen wrote a children’s series about the feasts of Yehovah, but started with the “unofficial” feast of dedication or Hanukkah, also known as the festival of lights. Her book title was: How Hanukkah Saved Christmas. Simply put, if the Maccabees had not defeated the Greeks and then restored and rededicated the Temple, Jesus could not have fulfilled the many Messianic prophesies of the Old Testament. That very prophetic event occurred about 150 years before Messiah Yeshua appeared as the Son of David. No Temple, no Messiah.
Simeon – Do you remember the story of Simeon, the older believer who was led by the Holy Spirit into the Temple just as baby (or toddler) Jesus was being dedicated? He was looking for the Messiah, because God had told him he would not die until he saw the Messiah. I like to joke that he recognized Jesus from the other children because of the little halo. That fact is that the Holy Spirit supernaturally revealed it and then gave Simeon a profound prophetic utterance over the child. It would not be a stretch to think he may have been prophesying the Messiah for as much as 50 years. So if you subtract 50 years from the 400 “silent years”, and then allow for the Maccabees’ prophetic actions and declarations; I don’t think it was all that silent.

“And behold, there was a man in Jerusalem whose name was Simeon, and this man was just and devout, waiting for the Consolation of Israel, and the Holy Spirit was upon him. And it had been revealed to him by the Holy Spirit that he would not see death before he had seen the Lord’s Christ. So he came by the Spirit into the temple. And when the parents brought in the Child Jesus, to do for Him according to the custom of the law, he took Him up in his arms and blessed God and said:

“Lord, now You are letting Your servant depart in peace, according to Your word; for my eyes have seen Your salvation which You have prepared before the face of all peoples, a light to bring revelation to the Gentiles, and the glory of Your people Israel.”

“And Joseph and His mother marveled at those things which were spoken of Him. Then Simeon blessed them, and said to Mary His mother, “Behold, this Child is destined for the fall and rising of many in Israel, and for a sign which will be spoken against.”

Luke 2:25-34

Notice the three underlined phrases. He held in his arms, Yeshua as Yehovah’s salvation in human form. He saw prophetically, the salvation of the Gentiles, which was unthinkable at that point in history. And finally, he saw Israel’s history as a fall and then rise. This was the opposite of all human history. Every nation rises and then falls, but he saw Israel falling which was completed by the Romans in 70 AD, and then the miraculous resurrection of Israel that we have witnessed in my lifetime! Praise God that He has always had a people and never keeps silent. We serve a living, active, Creator God who keeps His promises to a thousand generations. Hallelujah!

US Embassy: Recognition of Reality – X4

Praise God for President Trump keeping his promise to move the US Embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem, the eternal capital of the Jewish people. Here are my four prophetic observations that you won’t see in the secular news.

It’s not about Israel, it’s about the United States. Although Israel is rejoicing with today’s Presidential declaration, the real effect is God blessing the US because we are blessing Israel according to Genesis 12:3. We are recognizing the reality on the ground that Jerusalem has been Israel’s modern capital for 70 years , and in the Bible for over 3,000 years, since King David’s original declaration.
It’s not about Trump, it’s about God. I honor our President for keeping his word from the campaign. Our three previous presidents broke their promise to move the Embassy. But the real credit belongs to God who moved on President Trumps heart, who is simply obeying and carrying out the will of the God of Israel. Derek Prince, one of my mentors, used to say: “When you and the Holy Spirit arrive at the same place, at the same time; it makes you look good.” The same applies to Trump’s promise to “drain the swamp”. I believe God is draining the corrupt and immoral swamp of modern American culture way beyond politics in DC. It is God’s doing and the fact that Trump gives voice to God’s purpose actually does make Trump look good, but it is happening because it is God’s timing for restoration.
It does not kill the “peace process” which was already dead. The Arabs and Muslims have been opposing peace for 100 years, blocking every attempt. The most recent major push was the 1993 Oslo accords which have been a joke. How is that working out for you? It only brought suicide bombings and riots with Israel losing land in every “land for peace,” deal, that never brought peace. After 24 years it is time to pronounce that process dead. It is futile to impose the two-state concept for many practical reasons, but the final word is God’s. He has given the land to Israel; and all the nations of the world and all the demons of hell will not cancel out Yehovah’s eternal plan.
Yehovah is raining on the “Days of Rage”. All the usual suspects are lining up to oppose the move with threats and a call for three days of rage. I had to laugh when a Fox News report a few minutes ago suggested that it is going to be cold and rainy the next three days in Israel, which may reduce the demonstrations. Ha! Pray for rain!

O Yehovah, my strength and my fortress, my refuge in the day of affliction, The Gentiles shall come to You from the ends of the earth and say, “Surely our fathers have inherited lies, worthlessness and unprofitable things.” Will a man make gods for himself, which are not gods? “Therefore behold, I will this once cause them to know, I will cause them to know My hand and My might; And they shall know that My name is Yehovah. Jeremiah 16:19-21

Embassy Move Monday?

And it shall happen in that day that I will make Jerusalem a very heavy stone for all peoples; all who would heave it away will surely be cut in pieces, though all nations of the earth are gathered against it. Zechariah 12:3

Waiver was not signed yesterday. Friday, December 1, was the deadline to file the waiver to postpone moving the US Embassy for another six months. However, a technicality allows the signing as late as Monday. Reports from at least two inside White House sources suggest three possible choices.

President Trump could sign the waiver and pass the buck for six months. However, the report says he will either not sign it at all, which would require moving the Embassy, or sign it and then make a big announcement Wednesday.

The President may announce that the United States officially recognizes Jerusalem as Israel’s capital. While that would be a monumental milestone, it would leave our Embassy in Tel Aviv. Yet, it would be a step in the right direction. The Arabs will react either way. Why not just do it all at once? Here are links to a few of the relevant articles.

THANKS-giving

We pause to grateful and humble THANKS to our wonderful heavenly Father, Yehovah God. Once again we remember to thank Him for His grace and mercy. Here is a flashback to my 2011 Thanksgiving blog where I explained why the emphasis should be on the first syllable.

BE THANKFUL. Yesterday, Doreen and I stopped by to see our “spiritual daughter”, Laura, at her store downtown. We always honor her as the one who taught us how to pronounce this holiday. (She actually teaches a class in how to speak Southern.) I used to say Happy ThanksGIVING, but she emphasized the first syllable: Happy THANKSgiving. And she is right, of course. This day is about being thankful. 11-23-11

A Psalm of Thanksgiving

1 Make a joyful shout to Yehovah, all you lands!

2 Serve Yehovah with gladness;

Come before His presence with singing.

3 Know that Yehovah, He is God;

It is He who has made us, and not we ourselves;[fn]

We are His people and the sheep of His pasture.

4 Enter into His gates with thanksgiving,

And into His courts with praise.

Be thankful to Him, and bless His name.

5 For Yehovah is good;

His mercy is everlasting,

Saudi Checkmate

Saudi Arabia transformation will be complete with the ascension to the throne of Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Salman, aka MBS. Reports are swirling in the media that King Salman, who is 81, will leave the throne next week. His 32-year-old son represents a spectacular departure from many years of elderly kings.

Fox News Special Report with Bret Baier reported the story Friday night, but it does not appear on their website today. While the timing may change, it is nevertheless inevitable for the young Prince to become King. Stay tuned.

Saudi Prince Muhammad is on eve of accession, plans war on Iran, with Israeli attack on Hizballah DEBKAfile

This has huge implications for Israel and for the Psalm 83 War we have discussed for several years now. Pray for wisdom for Prime Minister Netanyahu. Pray that he will listen to Yehovah God’s guidance from the Holy Spirit. Many world events are falling into place with Biblical prophecy.

There seems to be a rapid rise of millennials as heads-of-state, such as Macron in France and Kim Jung-Un in North Korea. You also see this in the immediate future of the Democrat Party. Sociologists chart the present living generations as: the Greatest Gen, baby boomers, Gen X, millennials and Gen Z. I think it is interesting that they are named using the last letter of the alphabet, since I believe we are living in the last generation before the Messiah comes. I explained this in my book, Generation LAST.

Gen Z kids were the first-born with the Internet and are suspected to be the most individualistic and technology-dependent generation. Sometimes referred to as the iGeneration. NPR

With all the changes on the world stage, you can be sure of one thing. God is right on schedule. He is in control and the Messiah Yeshua is coming soon. Keep looking up!

Rumors of War

See that you are not troubled; for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. Matthew 24:6-7

This week’s resignation of Lebanon’s Prime Minister (via video from Saudi Arabia) has signaled a dangerous escalation in the tensions between Iran and Saudi Arabia. Until now, they have fought a proxy war in Yemen, but it now threatens expansion to direct war. They represent the two largest sects of Islam. The Saudi Monarchy controls Mecca and leads the Sunni branch of Islam which is about 85% of all Muslims. Even though Iran and the Shia are a much smaller percentage, Iran has a powerful and fanatical military, plus terrorist militias spread through the Middle East.

This poses a real danger to Israel and could even involve the US. We should be watchful and pray for Yehovah God’s purpose and peace.

People better start waking up and paying attention to what is happening in the Middle East, because the situation is becoming quite serious. If things go badly, we could be facing a major regional war which would involve not only Saudi Arabia and Iran, but also potentially the United States and Israel. Prophecy News Watch

Psalm 83 outlines the present threats to Israel and also gives us the answer in the form of a prayer in verse 9: Deal with them as with Midian. This short prayer is pregnant with revelation. It refers back to the time of Gideon’s victory with his 300 men over the Midianites.

When the three hundred blew the trumpets, Yehovah set every man’s sword against his companion throughout the whole camp; Judges 7:22

This is exactly the pattern now sweeping the Middle East. Israel’s enemies are fighting each other since the Arab Spring. You can see it in internal civil wars like Syria, but also between nations. Most Bible students have not noticed that two different Greek words are used in Matthew 24 (quoted above). It is not repeating itself. First it refers to ethnic divisions and then to national divisions. We also see this pattern in conflicts in the whole world.

Yet, the counsel of Yeshua is clear. “The end is not yet.”

The Psalm 83 War must be settled first, followed by a time of peace before the Ezekiel Gog & Magog War. So, fasten your seat-belt, but know that God is in control and we are right on His schedule.

A Quick History Lesson

President Abraham Lincoln and Martin Luther King were both Republicans.

The Ku Klux Klan (KKK) was the “enforcement” arm of the Democrat Party well into the 20th century. (See PBS article)

The Democratic Divorce from Israel is nearly complete.

You can see from the above simple facts that the political move to the left is a serious threat to Israel. This is not actually about politics, but about truth and lies.

Carefully determine what pleases the Lord. Take no part in the worthless deeds of evil and darkness; instead, expose them. It is shameful even to talk about the things that ungodly people do in secret. But their evil intentions will be exposed when the light shines on them, for the light makes everything visible. Ephesians 5:10-14

Pray for truth. Pray for rain in Israel. Pray for the peace of Jerusalem.

Why Multiculturalism is Bad

First, let’s be clear. The Kingdom of Yehovah God is multiracial, but “multicultural” is completely different.

And they sang a new song, saying: “You are worthy to take the scroll, and to open its seals; for You were slain, and have redeemed us to God by Your blood out of every tribe and tongue and people and nation, Revelation 5:9

If you mean that people have different minor customs, that is normal. However, if you define culture as maintaining a completely separate system, then you find yourself in conflict with the Bible. Islam under Sharia law is the best current example.

Sharia is an entire way of life for the faithful Muslim. It is not only a religious duty, but it governs every aspect of one’s life. Because it is a supremacist ideology, it is incompatible with any other government or religion. Sharia is in direct contradiction to the US Constitution, Declaration of Independence, Bill of Rights and even the Magna Carta. Most Americans have forgotten that our most important founding document is the Bible. All of our great founding documents issue directly from Biblical principles and concepts.

There is a distinct, clearly defined, Biblical culture that, much like Sharia, governs every aspect of the believer’s life. It starts with the Ten Commandments and continues through the great love chapter of 1 Corinthians 13. Following these precepts, leads to historic blessings and favor from the God of the Bible. The Western nations have been blessed because of Biblical, Judeo-Christian foundations.

Let all the earth fear Yehovah; Let all the inhabitants of the world stand in awe of Him. For He spoke, and it was done; He commanded, and it stood fast. Yehovah brings the counsel of the nations to nothing; He makes the plans of the peoples of no effect. The counsel of Yehovah stands forever, the plans of His heart to all generations. Blessed is the nation whose God is Yehovah, the people He has chosen as His own inheritance. Psalm 33:8-12

The name of the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob is Yehovah, the Creator, our Father. Perverted modern media still lies to us, by miss-translating the Islamic war/suicide cry as “God is Great.” The true translation is “Allah is the Greatest.” Their god is not a father and has no son, therefore, a completely different god. When Yehovah warned against “other gods,” He revealed the fact that people would come up with other gods.

Today I offer a fun diversion from politics and disasters, for your dining pleasure.

The technology relies on two basic elements: cartridges containing the meal’s ingredients — in powder or solution form — and hardware that applies heat and shapes the matter. The cartridges contain crystalline nano-cellulose as a core element, along with proteins, carbohydrates, fat, antioxidants and vitamins. Following individualized specs provided by the consumer on a 3D printer, the technology applies localized heat and shapes the raw material through infrared lasers.

Created through extraction from cellulose, the most abundant biomaterial on earth, nano-cellulose has a variety of technological and biomedical applications and is an expanding global market. Unlike starch — which is commonly used in food to “bind” meals together – nano-cellulose has no calories and is easily degradable by the body’s enzymes.

The above quote is from a fascinating article from The Times of Israel announcing the combination of 3D printing technology with actual nutritional food ingredients. It will print out real food. The concept was first popularized in the public’s imagination in the Star Trek TV series, The Next Generation, around 1987.

In Star Trek a replicator is a machine capable of creating (and recycling) objects. Replicators were originally seen used to synthesize meals on demand, but in later series they took on many other uses.Wikipedia

So, what has this to do in a blog about Israel and Christian Zionism? Well, I am a CZ and I love Israel, and I love food. Mainly, it is just a fun story. Even Jesus (Yeshua) enjoyed lighter moments, even more than His disciples, as revealed in this verse:

Trump 8 / Media 0

If you are keeping score, this week it was President Trump with eight wins and the media with zero. Hollywood was caught knee deep in scandals and infighting to further frustrate the left. But, let’s look at the wins for the Administration.

Trump ended coal power plant restrictions (CPP)
Stopped illegal subsidies in Obama Care
Enacted market-based health insurance reforms
Declined to certify Iran deal
Exited UNESCO over anti-Semitism
Welcomed Pakistan freed hostages
Goodell backed down on the National Football League anthem fight.
Confirmed that the Department of Defense (DOD) severed all ties with the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC), scrubbing SPLC training from DOD manuals.

Not a bad week for the good guys. God really answered the intercessors in DC last week at Rise Up/The Call at the Mall. We must keep praying for our government with the same passion with which we pray for Israel. Here is a great intercessors site: Capital Hill Prayer Partners

In addition, President Trump told the Value Voters Summit that “We must worship God, not government.”

Remember to keep praying for abundant rains to break the drought in northern Israel and fill up the Sea of Galilee.

Let Israel Rains Begin

Thirsty Sea of Galilee sinking toward lowest level ever recorded – Days before tens of thousands of Israelis descend on the Sea of Galilee for the Sukkot holiday, the Water Authority warned that the freshwater lake is at dangerously low levels and expected to reach “the lowest level ever recorded.”

The Lord woke me early Monday morning and led me to pray for rain for Israel. Later Monday, my friend Rob Brown, shared the news from Israel of a surprising early rainstorm. It was an answer to my prayers (and prayers of many others, I am sure). I was elated to be used so directly in intercession. It encouraged me to pray for abundant rains to come and refill the Sea of Galilee. Please let it be a word for you as well to pick up the burden to break the drought in Israel.

Ask Yehovah for rain in the time of the latter rain.
Yehovah will make flashing clouds;
He will give them showers of rain,
Grass in the field for everyone. Zechariah 10:1

You Have An Appointment with God

We have now entered the final Fall feast, the Feast of Tabernacles. This is the seventh feast and is calling all Jews and also Christians (which I like to call former Gentiles). Most people don’t know that the word “feast” is a wrong translation. The Hebrew word used means “appointment”. It makes a big difference to change from a big party, to an actual appointment with Yehovah.

These seven appointments are listed in Leviticus 23. There are really eight, if you include the Sabbath Day, designed to give God’s creation a day to rest and hang out with Him. Here is a quick outline of the seven appointments. (Here is a link to my radio interview where I spend 10 minutes on each appointment: Radio link ). The first four have already been fulfilled in the ministry of Messiah Yeshua (Jesus).

Passover/Pesach – blood of lamb on doorpost/Jesus Lamb of God.
Unleavened Bread- no leaven symbolizing sin/Jesus was sinless.
Firstfruits – celebrates the early harvest of wheat/Jesus raised from the dead.
Pentecost/Shavuot – celebrates summer harvest with leavened bread/Jesus body of redeemed sinners.
Trumpets/Yom Teruah – celebrates the end of harvest/Jesus Second Coming!
Atonement/Yom Kippur – Day of repentance/Jesus pronounces us clean.
Tabernacles/Sukkot – Looking back to tabernacle in the wilderness/Looking forward to our eternal dwelling place with our Father Yehovah and Son, Yeshua ben Yehovah.

Terror Murder in Israel

Today, a West Bank Palestinian, with a work permit for Israel, murdered three Israelis (one was an Arab Israeli citizen). He killed the three guards at an Israeli checkpoint. He had been cleaning house for one Israeli customer for two and a half years. His own house was upper middle class. He also announced on Facebook (above photo) that he wanted his terrorist pension to be given to his wife. What does this tell us?

This was pre-meditated murder/terror.
It was not done because he lived in poverty.
It was planned well in advance.
He boasted of it on Facebook.
Facebook was his last will and testament.
He banked on the policy of the Palestinian Authority to pay a lifetime salary to his wife for his “martyrdom.”

So, when did murder get defined as martyrdom? The answer is: 1,500 years ago with the birth of Islam. Have you noticed the difference between Christian and Muslim martyrdom? For Christians and Jews, it is simply because they exist. They are hunted down by obedient, observant Muslims and killed. As for Muslims, they initiate the violence as the perpetrators. Yet, in the perverse anti-Christ religion of the Koran, they get glory and eternal rewards for killing infidels. The Palestinians have added a new wrinkle by including millions of dollars in their budget to pay terrorists in prison and their families in the most perverse form of “welfare.” This has become a murder mill for hire. And Israel is supposed to negotiate with these monsters?

This evil criminal was not a “freedom fighter” as they are called by the PA and Hamas. This perversion of terms must be exposed. Yet, he will probably have a street or a soccer field named after him. Seriously, that is what they will do. It is a culture of death.

Waiting for the Last Trumpet!

YOM TERUAH! We are at the beginning of the Feast of Tabernacles. Today we are hearing the Sounding of the Trumpets, which is Yom Teruah, the first Fall Feast. In light of all the signs in the heavens, the wars and rumors of wars, and the terrible natural disasters, it is good to lift up our eyes to the Heavens. Our redemption is closer than ever.

And you will hear of wars and threats of wars, but don’t panic. Yes, these things must take place, but the end won’t follow immediately. Nation will go to war against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be famines and earthquakes in many parts of the world. But all this is only the first of the birth pains, with more to come. Matthew 24:6-8 NLT

“Now when these things begin to happen, look up and lift up your heads, because your redemption draws near.” Luke 21:28 NKJV

It will happen in a moment, in the blink of an eye, when the last trumpet is blown. For when the trumpet sounds, those who have died will be raised to live forever. And we who are living will also be transformed. 1 Corinthians 15:52 NLT

There are many believers who sincerely believe Jesus may come this weekend. Personally, I think there are a few more prophesies to be fulfilled, like Isaiah 17. However, I could be wrong, so my lamp is trimmed and ready!

One time I was musing out loud, in a message I was preaching, that the times of great tribulation would be a wonderful time to share the Messiah. After I was finished, Doreen made me promise to go on the first load. So, I always “stay ready.” Maybe it will be decades before the great appearing of our Lord and Savior, but we stay alert and watching.

Dear brothers and sisters, be patient as you wait for the Lord’s return. Consider the farmers who patiently wait for the rains in the fall and in the spring. They eagerly look for the valuable harvest to ripen. You, too, must be patient. Take courage, for the coming of the Lord is near. James 5:7-8 NLT

The servants who are ready and waiting for his return will be rewarded. I tell you the truth, he himself will seat them, put on an apron, and serve them as they sit and eat! Luke 12:37 NLT

Sheep or Lemmings?

Are you a sheep or a lemming? Do you follow the crowd, the mob, mass hysteria? Or are you a sheep who knows the voice of the shepherd and follows it to safety? Propaganda depends on the mob mentality. Today’s cultural chaos requires true believer to know the voice of Jesus. We need to listen to the Holy Spirit, Who was given as our Teacher of all the truths that Jesus taught in His earthly ministry. This post is shared in the context of Hurricane Harvey.

First, let me admit that lemmings committing mass suicide is a myth. However, the metaphor for human behavior does exist:

Someone who blindly follows a crowd—maybe even toward catastrophe—is called a lemming. Over the past century, the myth has been invoked to express modern anxieties about how individuality could be submerged and destroyed by mass phenomena, such as political movements or consumer culture. Encyclopædia Britannica

So, we need to test the spirits to see if they are from God. Do not blindly accept everything you hear. Test it. “Watch the witness!” as brother Arthur Burt always said. Does the report agree with what the Holy Spirit is saying in your heart? Does it agree with the Bible?

Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world. 1 John 4:1

The coming of the lawless one is according to the working of Satan, with all power, signs, and lying wonders, and with all unrighteous deception among those who perish, because they did not receive the love of the truth, that they might be saved. And for this reason God will send them strong delusion, that they should believe the lie, that they all may be condemned who did not believe the truth but had pleasure in unrighteousness. 2 Thessalonians 2:9-12

This is serious business. As we watch the rise of chaos and anarchy in our nation, we must be more vigilant. Keep our lamps filled with the oil of the Holy Spirit.

On the brighter side, even in the midst of the terrible devastation of Hurricane Harvey this week, hearts have turned to God for His mercy. Even the media cannot ignore the colorblind love of neighbor helping neighbor. The lie of racial division is exposed by the love poured out without respect to skin color from both victim and rescuer. Media types have been heard more than ever sending not only their “thoughts,” but openly sending their “prayers.” I pray that our nation will turn our hearts to Heaven and the fountain of mercy from the living God Yehovah.

King Abdullah Demands ’67 Borders

Yesterday King Abdullah of Jordan upped the ante as a result of the recent Temple Mount riots. He met Monday with Palestinian Authority President Abbas in Ramallah (only 11 miles north of Jerusalem). They agreed on new demands of the US regarding the failed “two state” idea that gives the Palestinians a new state in Biblical Judea and Samaria which the world calls the “West Bank.”

They are demanding this state on the pre-1967 Six Day War borders. They also demand a complete freeze in Jews building homes including eastern Jerusalem. Every Palestinian offer always includes pre-conditions which are always a non-starter. Israel cannot cede negotiable points before even convening; because then Abbas simply demands more concessions.

My opinion is that Israel should only agree to the post-1967 borders. I wrote about it in two previous blogs with maps. Click on each title.

Pence: Embassy Move Not If, but When

“I promise you that the day will come when President Donald Trump moves the American Embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem,” Pence said. “It is not a question of if; it is only when.” Vice President Mike Pence 7-17-17

Five to seven thousand Christians met in Washington this week at the Christians United for Israel Summit, led by Pastor John Hagee of San Antonio, Texas. Our Vice President was the keynote speaker. Doreen and I have been members for several years and have attended three previous summits. This year we missed it because of our trip to Israel. But the impact of a Christian Zionist group of over three million members is considerable.

Lines are being drawn all over the political and religious landscape. Even Senator Chuck Schumer, the Senate opposition leader has declared that anti-Zionism is the new anti-Semitism.

As the Senator said in the above short video, this is not a Republican or Democrat issue. Here is the Israel Pledge as offered by CUFI:

Did God’s people stumble and fall beyond recovery? Of course not! They were disobedient, so God made salvation available to the Gentiles. There are those who warn about a romanticized view of Jerusalem, yet, it is possible to face the real threats of our day and still have a palpable love for this eternal capital.

Doreen and I have been here for almost three weeks celebrating our 50th anniversary, along with Jerusalem’s 50th. We love this city of God. We were wed one day after the Six Day War in 1967. We have been exceptionally blessed and are the first to admit it is far more than we deserve. Yet, we have tried to live with a measure of humility while setting an example of relational love. This is most obvious in a loving marriage, but it also available in all of our relationships.

The Kingdom of God is relational. This world keeps trying to make it religious and political. But Jesus warned quite sternly:

Then He charged them, saying, “Take heed, beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and the leaven of Herod.” Mark 8:15 NKJV

As they were crossing the lake, Jesus warned them, “Watch out! Beware of the yeast of the Pharisees and of Herod.” Mark 8:15 NLT

The religious spirit is SELF-righteousness. The political spirit is SELF-interest. We certainly must beware of both.

Doreen and I have been living a dream of a marriage. Sometimes we are tempted to feel guilty for this blessing. Yet, we have learned one thing that may be an encouragement to those who have not been blessed with 50 years. We live each day and each year as if it was our last. We have always had a sense of the imminence of the Second Coming of Messiah Yeshua. But also, we have always been thankful for every single blessing in the present tense. From that we have reaped wonderful memories.

For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, so that they are without excuse, because, although they knew God, they did not glorify Him as God, nor were thankful, but became futile in their thoughts, and their foolish hearts were darkened. Romans 1:20:21

Treasure your memories. This is our exhortation to those who feel you were slighted when God was blessing others. You have great memories of your own. Treasure them. Your memories may not be 50 years, but whatever the length, they are real. Remember them. Be thankful for them. If you have had a wonderful spouse, even for a short time, be thankful.

For we dare not class ourselves or compare ourselves with those who commend themselves. But they, measuring themselves by themselves, and comparing themselves among themselves, are not wise. We, however, will not boast beyond measure, but within the limits of the sphere which God appointed us—a sphere which especially includes you. 1 Corinthians 10:12-13

Embassy Move?

PLANS ARE UNDERWAY for President Trump’s first visit to Israel later this month. Timed to be near the Jerusalem reunification celebrations, odds are strong that he may bring a great gift to Israel. He could use the occasion to announce moving the US Embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem. It has been 50 years since re-gaining Jerusalem in the 1967 Six Day War.

Israel is the only nation where our embassy is not in the capital city. It is way past time to act on the law passed by Congress in 1995. A loophole in the law allowed the President to sign a six-month waiver for “national security” reasons. Each President since then has signed a waiver twice a year. The last one was by President Obama on December 1, 2016. The next deadline in June 1.

During his election campaign Trump vowed that if victorious he would relocate the US Embassy to Jerusalem, a highly symbolic move valued by Israel as confirmation of the city as its capital, but strongly opposed by Palestinians and the Arab world which want East Jerusalem as the capital of a future Palestinian state. Yesterday President Trump spoke warmly about the Jewish people and the State of Israel at the US Holocaust Memorial Museum’s annual Days of Remembrance event. Trump said at the event that he “will always stand with our great friend and partner, the State of Israel “

“And we’ll never be silent — we just won’t — we will never, ever be silent in the face of evil again.,” the American president stressed, saying that the scale of the loss was incomprehensible. “The Nazis massacred six million Jews. Two out of every three Jews in Europe were murdered in the genocide. Millions more innocent people were imprisoned and executed by the Nazis without mercy, without even a sign of mercy.” Arutz Sheva

Turkey, the Real Caliphate

The Turkey referendum last Sunday bestowed near dictatorial power to President Erdogan. I have maintained that ISIS is a premature and false Caliphate. I know this is way out on the end of a very long limb, but he is my best guess at the moment for the Antichrist.

After the “military coup” last summer he imprisoned just about anyone who opposed him in a purge. Estimates were at least 40,000 to more than 200,000. He is steadily moving Turkey toward a radical Islamic Republic (think Iran).

The discussion for a decade was when Turkey would be admitted to the European Union. The better question is when will the EU, which is fast becoming Islamicized, be admiitted to the Caliphate based in Istanbul?

Perhaps the most stunning clue was seen just a few days after the coup. Sheikh Yusuf Qaradawi, president of the World Federation of Muslim Scholars and the most influential global Muslim cleric, endorsed Erdogan as the “Supreme Leader” of the entire Muslim world. He was joined by a host of other prominent Muslim scholars from around the globe. (Qaradawi has a TV viewership of 60 million each week. He also led prayers in Cairo in a gathering of 2 million Egyptians on one occasion.) The proclamation of Erdogan was widely publicized throughout Islamic media, but not a whisper in the West. Thanks to ex-terrorist believer Walid Shoebat for translating the proclamation into English:

It consists of what many viewed as a direct command from heaven itself to Erdogan declaring that “Allah” including “the angelic host” and “the saints” appointed Erdogan to be given allegiance by all Muslims including all Muslim scholars from all four corners of the globe:

“Allah is with you and all Arab and Muslim nations are with you including all freedom loving people are with you. We, all the Muslim scholars, in the four corners of the globe, are with you. The Angel Gabriel and the righteous one [in heaven] are with you. And after that the angels will be revealed.

We are all with you. It is because you have stood with righteousness against evil. You are with justice against injustice…

Dear President, lead Turkey as you wish and as we wish … we will be with you giving you strength and will support your party and your loyalists as Allah instructed “O ye who believe fear Allah and stand with the righteous …”

Is Erdogan the Antichrist? Of course I don’t know, but he certainly is a leading candidate.

Dear children, the last hour is here. You have heard that the Antichrist is coming, and already many such antichrists have appeared. From this we know that the last hour has come. 1 John 2:18

Passover Merger

Passover Lamb As Jewish families observe Passover this week, a growing phenomena is happening. More Christians than ever are also sharing a Passover supper. Tonight, Doreen and I will be with 110 of our closest friends to celebrate the deliverance of the human race from the slavery of sin and condemnation.

The passing over of the death angel in Egypt was the first indication of Yehovah’s plan of salvation through the blood of a lamb. Who knew back then that the Messiah would ultimately become that Lamb Himself? (Read Isaiah 53)Jews and Christians who really value Passover are closer than ever to that wonderful merger of Ephesians as I wrote about in my book, Blessing Israel.

Therefore remember that you, once Gentiles in the flesh—who are called Uncircumcision by what is called the Circumcision made in the flesh by hands— that at that time you were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope and without God in the world. But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far off have been brought near by the blood of Christ.

For He Himself is our peace, who has made both one, and has broken down the middle wall of separation, having abolished in His flesh the enmity, that is, the law of commandments contained in ordinances, so as to create in Himself one new man from the two, thus making peace, and that He might reconcile them both to God in one body through the cross, thereby putting to death the enmity. And He came and preached peace to you who were afar off and to those who were near. For through Him we both have access by one Spirit to the Father. Ephesians 2:11-18

“One new man from the two” refers to Jews and former Gentiles, merging with one another by the Holy Spirit in their shared access to God. Hallelujah! This is the miracle of sacrifice of the eternal Lamb of God, our Messiah Yeshua.

Let it be done O Lord, according to your word. Pray for the peace of Jerusalem!

Israel Hi-Tech

Israeli hi-tech innovation leads the world. In the midst of the gloom and doom of surrounding wars and terrorism, Israel is booming with prosperity and blessing. Mobileye, an Israeli start-up, is just the latest example. Its autonomous driving technology innovation attracted the interest of Intel, one of the world’s largest companies. Intel paid $15.3 billion, the most ever for an Israeli start-up.

Hi-tech behemoth Intel is really excited about its acquisition of Israel’s autonomous driving company Mobileye, and its new base of operations in the Jewish state.

At a press conference announcing the acquisition, Intel CEO Brian Krzanich said: “We think of ourselves as an Israeli company as much as a US company.”

The chip-maker believes so much in Israeli innovation, that it’s going to make Mobileye’s Jerusalem headquarters the new central base of operations for all of Intel’s autonomous vehicle efforts. Israel Today

This is another sign of the favor of God on Israel. After nearly two millennia under God’s judgments, (see Romans 11), the page has turned. We are now in the period of Israel’s favor and restoration.

You will arise and have mercy on Zion; For the time to favor her, Yes, the set time, has come. Psalm 102:13

The worst time ever for the Jews was the Holocaust, followed almost immediately by the “page turning” miracle of Israel national rebirth. The Hebrew language was restored. They got their land back, the people back and even their capital city back, with the liberation of Jerusalem in 1967.

What a day to be alive to witness all this with our own eyes. We rejoice for Israel under the favor of God. Israel is meant to be a blessing to all the other nations. This safety technology is another example.

Praying for the POTUS

I DECLARE that the anointing for the Presidency of the United States has been completely transferred from President Obama to President Trump. This means that the authority President Obama had is now gone. He may be surprised himself over his relative political impotence. I am not making this up, it is the truth of Scripture…

Let every soul be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and the authorities that exist are appointed by God. Therefore whoever resists the authority resists the ordinance of God, and those who resist will bring judgment on themselves.Romans 13:1-2

As you pointed out, the mantle (authority) of the office of President of the USA has been taken off the shoulders of the prior President and placed on the shoulders of President Trump.

As Samuel anointed David, and Saul realized that he had lost the mantle (authority) of kingship, his heart filled with jealousy and he devised schemes to eliminate David and prevent his rule over the kingdom. We see a parallel today in what is happening in the attempts to destabilize and remove the President from leadership:

Here are some of David’s words, as he cried to Yehovah during his time of being hunted and maligned. Please join me in using these words in intercession for President Trump. (It is also noted that David refused to kill or harm his oppressor.)

Psalm 35:26 – Let them be ashamed and brought to confusion together that rejoice at mine hurt; let them be clothed with shame and dishonor that magnify themselves against me (Donald Trump).

Psalm 38:4 – Let them be confounded and put to shame that seek after my (Donald Trump) soul; let them be turned back and brought to confusion that devise my (Donald Trump) hurt.

Psalm 40:14 – Let them be confounded and ashamed together that seek after my soul to destroy it. Let them be driven backward and put to shame that wish me (Donald Trump) evil.

If, indeed, the prophecy that Donald Trump is a modern-day Cyrus appointed by God (to restore the Temple, and help Israel), then we pray that the blessings and promises of Genesis 12:3 will fall upon our nation and that our nation will turn back to Yehovah and His Kingdom principles. Amen.

Genesis 12:3 – I will bless those who bless you, and I will curse him who curses you; and in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed.

White Privilege Narrative Danger

Anarchists are exploiting the white privilege narrative. A fake meme has emerged which claims that there is no hope for minorities because of white privilege. The charge itself can be debated, but the deadly ricochet from the accusation is worse. It is like telling your son: “You lazy good for nothing. You’ll never amount to anything!” Words matter.

FAITH – Christians recognize those words as a curse that can ruin the child’s future. The same is now happening on a massive scale against minorities in the US. It is the opposite of faith and hope. Telling folks they can never advance because of white privilege, is a damnable lie. It is using the words of the devil himself. Jesus declared that all things are possible with God. Faith does not accept limitation. Our nation was built on Biblical faith for everyday challenges. Blessings come from God through walking in His ways of obedience and faith. It actually works. It matters what you believe. If you believe anything is possible with God, you are more likely to succeed. If you believe you can’t win because life isn’t fair or you are a victim of your race or economic status, you will probably fail.

HOPE – What is the American dream? Is it a big house and a fancy car with lots of money? Or, is it believing that in the freedom, liberty and opportunity afforded by this great country, anyone can achieve just about anything they work hard to reach? That is the American dream.

President Obama’s election not only validated that dream, his proclamation of hope and change inspired millions with new faith in the American dream.He used the powerful slogan: “Yes we can!” Ironically, eight years later, we see this ominous cloud of dis-belief. “Yes We Can” was a message of hope, but the fruit was hopelessness

The white privilege narrative is manipulated to convince minorities that there is no hope for them! “No, you can’t!” How utterly contradictory this is to the historical evidence of the Obama win. It is a lie. If blacks cannot make it, how did President Obama, Justice Clarence Thomas, Senator Tim Scott, Ben Carson, actors, lawyers, musicians and athletes by the thousands succeed?

America is not perfect, but it is still the one place where the lowliest person can have a real hope to advance with hard work and faith in God.

Fake Peace

Fake news gets lots of headlines, but fake peace is more deadly. I’m talking about this Sunday’s Paris “Peace” Conference. Some 72 nations are meeting to find the solution to the “Israel Problem,” an echo of Hitler’s “solution to the Jewish problem.” Oh, and guess who is not invited? ISRAEL!

“Because, indeed, because they have seduced My people, saying, ‘Peace!’ when there is no peace—and one builds a wall, and they plaster it with untempered mortar— say to those who plaster it with untempered mortar, that it will fall. There will be flooding rain, and you, O great hailstones, shall fall; and a stormy wind shall tear it down. Surely, when the wall has fallen, will it not be said to you, ‘Where is the mortar with which you plastered it?’ ”Ezekiel 13:10-12

Untempered mortar is mortar with not enough water. The spiritual meaning is a false peace conceived without the Holy Spirit.

The agreement they will reach has already been “leaked.” (We inhabit a devious world.) The concern in Israel is that it will be used in a UN resolution declaring a Palestinian state, with Obama’s last betrayal by abstention, before Trump can be sworn into office.

In rewriting history and making a mockery of justice and fairness, the United Nations has become a sick joke as it brazenly continues to back the Palestinian narrative that would drive Israel into the sea. Their spokesmen have been quoted over and again saying that they only want such a state as a launch pad for ridding the region of Jews altogether. Israel Today

You Must Accept Christendom?

Let me draw a fine point. Must a Jew accept Christendom, or is it enough to accept Jesus/Yeshua as the Messiah of Israel? Growing numbers of Israelis are recognizing Yeshua as the Messiah and Son of God. Do they also have to accept all the traditions of ecclesiastical church history? I think not. Here is an excerpt from my latest book that explains my simple point. (The Hebrew God Who Has No Name – Chapter 8)

Restoration Timing?

Even the Second Coming, the climactic event of history, requires this timing. The Messiah clearly remains in Heaven until a certain time … and then He comes! He comes at the time of restoration of everything the holy prophets have said. Jesus cannot return until Yehovah’s Name is restored according to Peter’s sermon in Acts 3.

that He may send Jesus Christ, who was preached to you before, whom heaven must receive until the times of restoration of all things, which God has spoken by the mouth of all His holy prophets since the world began. Acts 3:20-21

“O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, the one who kills the prophets and stones those who are sent to her! How often I wanted to gather your children together, as a hen gathers her chicks under her wings, but you were not willing! See! Your house is left to you desolate; for I say to you, you shall see Me no more till you say, ‘Blessed is He who comes in the name of Yehovah!’” Matthew 23:37-39

Second Coming?

There is no question that the Second Coming is the crowning event of human history. We are close to the Messiah’s entrance. There is a classic joke about the Messiah finally appearing in Jerusalem and the Mayor goes out to meet Him. The Mayor says: “Welcome to Jerusalem. We have waited for you for so long, but I just have one question. Is this your first or second visit?”

The viewpoint of Jews continues to be a very serious issue. What do they think about the Messiah? How do they consider the Christian hope? Truly, a rapidly growing anticipation of the Messiah exists in Israel. Leading rabbis speak out that His coming is close. As the hope for a peace deal dies, more Israeli’s are considering their faith seriously, even if they are not religious. On a 2007 visit to Israel, I heard two prominent Israeli speakers touch the subject. One was in Jerusalem and one was in the Golan. Both made similar statements that shocked me by their public candor and position taken. Neither man had acknowledged Jesus as the Messiah, but both believed in the Messiah, the Son of David. They both said that “when He comes, we will look at His hands and feet; and then we will all rejoice together”. The Golan speaker spoke those exact words to our Christian tour group. He flatly stated that the Holy Spirit (Ruach ha Kodesh) speaks to him in his heart. He said that he didn’t know “about those scholars down in Jerusalem with their stacks of books, but the Messiah is coming and I will look at His hands and feet, and then we will all dance together.”

When Will Jews See Jesus?

One of the most severe judgments of history was the removal of Israel from their land after rejecting the Messiah. Paul describes it as “the severity of God” in Romans 11:22. That event opened the way for the nations to be saved; but what about Israel? When will they see the Messiah?

What if I told you that it hinges on Jews changing one of their most common Scripture prayers? It is located in their Passover hymn (known to Jews as the Hallel – Psalms 113-118).

Blessed is he who comes in the name of Yehovah! We have blessed you from the house of Yehovah. Psalm 118:26

The problem is that the Jews do not pronounce the Name. They replace the word Yehovah with the word Lord, or in Hebrew; Adonai. Therefore, I submit that part of the scales falling off the eyes of the Jewish people definitely involves the revelation of the restoration and use of Yehovah’s Name! Jesus even declared this directly in the Gospels. Although it is mistranslated LORD in our English Bibles, the Name of Yehovah was quoted by Yeshua Himself directly from Psalm 118:26.

Jesus said: for I say to you, you shall see Me no more till you say, “Blessed is He who comes in the name of Yehovah!” Matthew 23:39

We know He said Yehovah, because this was a direct quote. Psalm 118 has the Name, Yehovah, no less than 28 times in the Hebrew text! So, does that really mean the Jews will begin using His Name again? Yes!

Note, that Jews will say: “Blessed is He” who comes in Yehovah’s Name. Jesus did that; and the Jews of His day did not say blessed is He, but killed Him for “blasphemy” for claiming the Name of Yehovah. We also may be rejected for speaking the Name, but proclaim it we must, as we stand with Israel and the Jewish people as they begin to profess: “Blessed is He who comes in the Name of Yehovah!”

Chief Rabbi: We have God

chief-rabbi-sephardic Last week saw a United States double betrayal of Israel, with the UN abstention and the Kerry speech. Here is the response from the Israel’s Chief Rabbi Yitzhak Yosef:

Israel Chief Rabbi: We Don’t Need America, We Have God Israel’s Sephardic chief rabbi, Yitzhak Yosef, gave a divine response to the Obama Administration’s gross betrayal of the Jewish state last week. “Sometimes, we need to be reminded from above that we can count on no one but our Father who art in heaven,” Yosef told a gathering at the Western Wall. “Even America… forsook us last week at the UN.”

There is a definite move toward God in Israel. Atheism is on the wane, many secular Israelis are turning back to the God of Israel, and some even to Yeshua as Messiah. Even the Orthodox leaders (as the Chief Rabbi above) are declaring God “our Father in heaven” is their foundation and refuge.

We rejoice together for our hope in God. Even here in America, despite the strongest efforts of the outgoing Administration, this nation is poised on the threshold of an historic third great awakening. As we move forward in prayer for 2017, we all should echo the call of the Rabbi to count on no man, but “our Father who art in heaven.”

Some trust in chariots, and some in horses; but we will remember the name of Yehovah our God. Psalm 20:7

Woe to those who go down to Egypt for help, and rely on horses, who trust in chariots because they are many, and in horsemen because they are very strong, but who do not look to the Holy One of Israel, nor seek Yehovah! Isaiah 31:1
