Embassy Move?

26 04 2017

Holocaust day 2017

PLANS ARE UNDERWAY for President Trump’s first visit to Israel later this month. Timed to be near the Jerusalem reunification celebrations, odds are strong that he may bring a great gift to Israel. He could use the occasion to announce moving the US Embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem. It has been 50 years since re-gaining Jerusalem in the 1967 Six Day War.

Israel is the only nation where our embassy is not in the capital city. It is way past time to act on the law passed by Congress in 1995. A loophole in the law allowed the President to sign a six-month waiver for “national security” reasons. Each President since then has signed a waiver twice a year. The last one was by President Obama on December 1, 2016. The next deadline in June 1.

During his election campaign Trump vowed that if victorious he would relocate the US Embassy to Jerusalem, a highly symbolic move valued by Israel as confirmation of the city as its capital, but strongly opposed by Palestinians and the Arab world which want East Jerusalem as the capital of a future Palestinian state. Times of Israel

Yesterday President Trump spoke warmly about the Jewish people and the State of Israel at the US Holocaust Memorial Museum’s annual Days of Remembrance event. Trump said at the event that he “will always stand with our great friend and partner, the State of Israel “

“And we’ll never be silent — we just won’t — we will never, ever be silent in the face of evil again.,” the American president stressed, saying that the scale of the loss was incomprehensible. “The Nazis massacred six million Jews. Two out of every three Jews in Europe were murdered in the genocide. Millions more innocent people were imprisoned and executed by the Nazis without mercy, without even a sign of mercy.” Arutz Sheva

If I forget you, O Jerusalem,
Let my right hand forget its skill!
If I do not remember you,
Let my tongue cling to the roof of my mouth—
If I do not exalt Jerusalem
Above my chief joy. Psalm 137:5-6

Yes to ’67 Borders

9 06 2011

President Obama’s speech crossed a red line when he endorsed the Palestinian demand last month for negotiations based on the 1967 borders. However, I have decided to agree; with one slight adjustment. Let’s use the June 11, 1967 borders. Those ceasefire lines were the result of Israel winning the war started by the surrounding  Arab  nations. (I am partial to that date because Doreen and I were married on that very day 44 years ago).

Israel is under pressure from the entire world to give up its God-given land. The media ignore the Arabs’ intent to wipe Israel off the map and God’s miraculous victory. The lines of June 5 when the Six Day War started were actually the 1949 Armistice lines. This is where the President (and the Palestinian Authority) demand to start the talks. How ridiculous! It is like children wanting a “do over”. It doesn’t work like that in the real world.

So, I am for starting with the June 11 borders, not the June 5 borders. What a difference in that one mighty week! These adjacent maps make the case much more powerfully than words. You can see why Israel can never return to those pre-war indefensible lines. Still, the nations will rage and imagine vain things, but God’s response is wrath and the call to accept His Son, Jesus.

If a wise man contends with a foolish man, Whether the fool rages or laughs, there is no peace. Proverbs 29:9

Why do the nations rage, and the people plot a vain thing? The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against Yehovah and against His Anointed, saying, “Let us break their bonds in pieces and cast away their cords from us.” He who sits in the heavens shall laugh; Yehovah shall hold them in derision. Then He shall speak to them in His wrath, and distress them in His deep displeasure: “Yet I have set My King on My holy hill of Zion.” Psalm 2:1-6

This map reveals how narrow Israel would be with the “do over”.

Wars and Rumors of Wars

15 08 2010

ISRAEL E-CARD Volume 4 Issue 16 August 15, 2010

Topic # 1   Is The Sky Falling?

And you will hear of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not troubled; for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. Matthew 24:6

There is a tendency for prophecy buffs to want to put all of the last days prophecies into the same short time frame. However, this warning of Jesus informs us that even with wars multiplying the end is not quite at hand. There are multiple events between now and then.

We have predicted the Psalm 83 War to occur this summer, which still seems very possible. Yet, Israel’s closest neighbors are listed in that Psalm, while a completely different group is listed in Ezekiel 38-39. We conclude that these are two separate and distinct wars yet to come. It is sort of like an inner and outer beltline of a city. It looks to me like the first group has ceased to exist and the outer group steps up in Ezekiel. There is another very interesting observation. The inner country group is Arab Muslims, but the outer group is non-Arab Muslims.

Either way, Jesus says don’t be troubled, because the  wars must happen before the end. So, fasten your seat belt as we approach these prophetic crossroads.

Topic #2  Deadline This Week for Israel’s Iran Attack

Former UN Ambassador John Bolton predicted on Fox News Friday that Israel would have to attack Iran by August 21  because Russia’s is about to fire up Iran’s first nuclear reactor. Once the fuel rods are loaded, “it makes it essentially immune from attack by Israel. Because once the rods are in the reactor an attack on the reactor risks spreading radiation in the air, and perhaps into the water of the Persian Gulf.” (Newsmax)

Also looming is the deadline for the peace talks which are doomed to fail on Palestinian preconditions threatening  Israel’s very existence and must therefore always be rejected.

Now as He sat on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to Him privately, saying, “Tell us, when will these things be? And what will be the sign of Your coming, and of the end of the age?” And Jesus answered and said to them: “Take heed that no one deceives you. “For many will come in My name, saying, ‘I am the Christ,’ and will deceive many. “And you will hear of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not troubled; for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. Matthew 24:3-6

A Gathering Storm From Iran

17 02 2010

Israel seems destined to face a regional war this summer. Iran accuses Israel of preparing for a summer war, yet all signs point to Iran furiously building up its supply of arms to Hamas, Hezbollah and Syria. With Syria transferring military arms to Lebanon, the plot thickens. Charges and counter charges as well as denials by all parties fill the airwaves. The story is even gaining traction in the American press that has been preoccupied with the Vancouver Winter Olympics. Russia is in the picture with its sale of S-300 missiles to Iran.

Some prophecy buffs are talking of Armageddon, but this is not it. Psalm 83 describes a smaller regional war with Israel that precedes the epic final battles of the Apocalypse. My new book, Generation LAST, details the basis for this claim. The Second Lebanon War of 2006 was just the first salvo of this summer’s war.

The list of ancient nations in Psalm 83 is notable for the absence of Egypt. Both Jordan and Egypt have peace treaties with Israel. However, Jordan is in the list of those attacking and therefore the monarchy will probably fall to radical Palestinians who make up some 70% of Jordan’s population. A war of precisely these countries has not happened in history which points to future fulfillment.

Their goal is nothing less than the annihilation of Israel to the extent that the name of Israel is blotted out of human history. As ridiculous as this may sound, it is exactly prophesied in this text: “Come,” they say, “let us wipe out Israel as a nation. We will destroy the very memory of its existence.” Psalm 83:4 NLT.

Three non-negotiables that threaten Israel are:

1. Israel’s very existence.

2. The existence of Jerusalem as Israel’s undivided capital.

3. Israel’s sovereignty over the Temple Mount.

Prime Minister Netanyahu will not compromise on any of the three. Therefore since Israel’s neighbors will not compromise either, war is inevitable. I am speaking of the most likely scenario, but the picture could change drastically if Israel chooses to go at the head of the terrorist snake and attack Iran’s nuclear reactors.

The nations of the world are lining up in opposition to Israel at an alarming rate. The seismic plates are shifting in the Middle East and no peace plan can touch the spiritual dimensions of the coming earthquake. God has the final word and He gave it to us in Psalm 83.

Generation LAST

21 01 2010

My newest book is now available at www.ElishaVision.com Here is an introduction:

Generation LAST directly confronts the comfortable position of many Christians who have set aside the concept of the imminent Second Coming of Jesus, the Messiah. Compelling evidence from Scripture declares that we are already now in the last generation of this age.

Consideration is given to the restoration of the personal name of the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob: YAHWEH. Also offered, are three Bible prophesies on the threshold of fulfillment.

The conclusion reveals a profound, yet almost unknown revelation of how God will share His glory with His people in the Generation LAST.
