Queen of BDS

18 02 2019

LOL: Palestinian ‘Queen of BDS’ Has a ‘Made in Israel’ Website – The Israel Advocacy Movement has uncovered a juicy and hilarious bit of information that once again exposes both the foolishness and failure of the Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) movement against Israel.

Rashida Tlaib was among a handful of radical Democratic candidates to suddenly find herself in the spotlight after winning a seat in the US House of Representatives. Tlaib is most known not for what she plans to do for her constituents in Michigan, but rather for her overtly hostile positions vis-a-vis Israel.

You see, Tlaib is an America of “Palestinian” Arab descent, and she absolutely hates the Jewish state. She’s on record as saying the US should cut military aid to Israel. She’s also a big supporter of BDS, a campaign that tries, wildly unsuccessfully, to economically choke Israel out of existence.

So, we couldn’t help but burst into laughter after finding out that Tlaib’s campaign website was built on the Wix platform! As many people will know, Wix is not only one of the Internet’s top platforms for ready-made websites, it’s also one of Israel’s most successful Internet start-ups, headquartered in Tel Aviv.

No doubt Tlaib will immediately move her website to a different platform provider after realizing her grave mistake. But, until then, enjoy a little humor in your day, courtesy of Israel’s most venomous of detractors. Israel Today (If you have not yet subscribed to this delightful Israeli magazine , check it out. It is a trusted source of Messianic news from Israel.)

All the days of the afflicted are evil,
But he who is of a merry heart has a continual feast. Proverbs 15:15

Thought you might appreciate a laugh break, with all the serious world news grabbing the headlines. Enjoy!

Pray for the peace of Jerusalem and pray for rain.

3D Printed Food?

30 10 2017
Star Trek replicato

Food Replicator from Start Trek TV Series

Today I offer a fun diversion from politics and disasters, for your dining pleasure.

Printer, can you please make me a low-fat burger with fries? The Times of Israel

The technology relies on two basic elements: cartridges containing the meal’s ingredients — in powder or solution form —  and hardware that applies heat and shapes the matter. The cartridges contain crystalline nano-cellulose as a core element, along with proteins, carbohydrates, fat, antioxidants and vitamins. Following individualized specs provided by the consumer on a 3D printer, the technology applies localized heat and shapes the raw material through infrared lasers.

Created through extraction from cellulose, the most abundant biomaterial on earth, nano-cellulose has a variety of technological and biomedical applications and is an expanding global market. Unlike starch — which is commonly used in food to “bind” meals together – nano-cellulose has no calories and is easily degradable by the body’s enzymes.

The above quote is from a fascinating article from The Times of Israel announcing the combination of 3D printing technology with actual nutritional food ingredients. It will print out real food. The concept was first popularized in the public’s imagination in the Star Trek TV series, The Next Generation,  around 1987.

In Star Trek replicator is a machine capable of creating (and recycling) objects. Replicators were originally seen used to synthesize meals on demand, but in later series they took on many other uses.Wikipedia

So, what has this to do in a blog about Israel and Christian Zionism? Well, I am a CZ and I love Israel, and I love food. Mainly, it is just a fun story. Even Jesus (Yeshua) enjoyed lighter moments, even more than His disciples, as revealed in this verse:

But to the Son He says: “Your throne, O God, is forever and ever; A scepter of  righteousness is the scepter of Your kingdom. You have loved righteousness and hated lawlessness; Therefore God, Your God, has anointed You with the oil of gladness more than Your companions. Hebrews 1:8-9  (quoted from Psalm 45:7. The Hebrew word is translated: cheerfulness, gladness, joy, mirth, and rejoicing.)

Pray for peace and rain for Jerusalem!

Happy Purim

11 03 2017

Dry Bones Purim 2017

Today and tomorrow Jews around the world celebrate Purim, the festival honoring Esther’s great courage saving the Jews in ancient Persia/Iran. Today Iran again threaten Israel, yet the Jews take time to remember the victory story of Esther (Hebrew name: Hadassah), Mordecai and the evil Haman. Read about it in the Bible’s short Book of Esther.

And Mordecai told them to answer Esther: “Do not think in your heart that you will escape in the king’s palace any more than all the other Jews. For if you remain completely silent at this time, relief and deliverance will arise for the Jews from another place, but you and your father’s house will perish. Yet who knows whether you have come to the kingdom for such a time as this?” Then Esther told them to reply to Mordecai: “Go, gather all the Jews who are present in Shushan, and fast for me; neither eat nor drink for three days, night or day. My maids and I will fast likewise. And so I will go to the king, which is against the law; and if I perish, I perish!” Esther 4:13-16

A 21st Century Psalm

16 06 2012

Next week we will know the results of the Egyptian presidential elections taking place this weekend, expected to be won by the Muslim Brotherhood candidate. My commentary will follow the returns. In the meantime, here is a witty contemporary Psalm for your weekend enjoyment. My friend Steve is a North Carolina pastor/author married to my cousin, Robin. Thanks, Steve for permission to share your creativity with us.

A 21st Century Psalmby Steve Ruberg

Of the mercies of the Lord I will tweet;

I will text of your faithfulness so sweet.

Your homepage proclaims Your status each day;

You’re available to message when I pray.

When I invited you to be my friend;

You confirmed your acceptance without amend.

I can link to you any time or place;

One click leads me to your space.

I can browse Your Word where’re I roam;

For whatever I search, you will supply.

My errors are deleted when my request is sent;

Your memory won’t restore once I repent.

I like my blessings, each one sublime;

You are online all of the time.

You Excel in all that You do;

Your Word is what I seek from You.

Thank you for access to your Domain.
