Self-evident Truths

We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.

Declaration of Independence

Have you ever considered the first phrase of the Declaration? There are three distinct thoughts: We hold – these truths – self-evident. We hold on, closely, without compromise, to these certain truths. We consider them to be obvious, self-evident. The evidence of their truth is clearly embodied in the very speaking of them.

Self-evident truth is a little like the humorous phrase: “Common sense is not as common as it used to be.” Actually, that quote originated with Voltaire: “Common sense is not so common.” However, we are talking about transcendent truth that is higher and more profound than common sense. It carries a prerequisite for the hearer, that you love the truth. Otherwise you can miss it entirely.

“This man (of lawlessness) will come to do the work of Satan with counterfeit power and signs and miracles. He will use every kind of evil deception to fool those on their way to destruction, because they refuse to love and accept the truth that would save them. So God will cause them to be greatly deceived, and they will believe these lies. Then they will be condemned for enjoying evil rather than believing the truth.” 2 Thessalonians 2:9-12 NLT

So, do you know the five self-evident truths in the Declaration?

All men are created equal.
The Creator grants rights to all people.
These rights include life.
These rights include liberty.
These rights include the pursuit of happiness.

Bible believers know that truth is not only a concept, it is the person of Jesus, the Messiah.

Jesus told him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me.” John 14:6 NLT

“But God shows his anger from heaven against all sinful, wicked people who suppress the truth by their wickedness. They know the truth about God because he has made it obvious to them. For ever since the world was created, people have seen the earth and sky. Through everything God made, they can clearly see his invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature. So they have no excuse for not knowing God.” Romans 1:18-20 NLT

Wow! That is a pretty clear statement that the truth about God is obvious. As we pray for our nation in this time of crises, pray that people will gain a love of the truth. God desires to show mercy if we only repent of our self love and cry out to Him. Cry out for Jesus, the Truth, the Life-giver.

Also, continue to pray for the peace of Jerusalem and rain in season.

Faith Deposits and Withdrawals

Last night Doreen and I were blessed to gather with eager believers in a nearby home. We were reminded of a word from the Lord received back in the 1970’s. We lived in Florida then at a time of alarming prophesies of God’s judgement on Florida. One was of a tidal wave or tsunami causing great devastation. So, some of my friends felt they should store up freeze-dried food for the coming calamity.

I asked the Lord if we should do that, and He answered clearly: “Store up faith.” That was the beginning of a new concept for us. We acted on that word by learning more about living by faith, studying faith, growing in faith, and just generally learning to lean on God more than our own abilities. We later realized that by making “deposits” in our faith walk we were building up a “faith account” in the Holy Spirit. Each time we exercised faith we were encouraged to trust Him more.

In the good times as we saw answers to prayer we deposited more faith in our “account.” Eventually, as we faced hard times with our health or finances or other issues we discovered a wonderful truth. We could go to God and ask Him for a withdrawal from our faith account. It may sound simplistic to you, but for us it was, and still is real.

By building up our faith we discovered a storehouse in the Holy Spirit that was available in our times of need. Consider what I am saying. Ask the Lord about it for your life. He delights in helping His children just at the exact time of need. If the Holy Spirit is speaking to you in this testimony, why not start now storing up faith? Open a “faith account” with Jesus. Keep making deposits of faith and you will also discover a great resource in your times of need.

“But you, beloved, building yourselves up on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Spirit,keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life.” Jude 1:20-21

Delay Israel Sovereignty: a TEST?

The expected and hoped for announcement of extending Israeli sovereignty to some of the West Bank (Judea and Samaria), has been delayed. Prime Minister Netanyahu stated that there would be news “in the coming days.” As disappointing as it was, I believe God is allowing a test of the resolve of President Trump and the Prime Minister. Will they stick to their vows to allow the expansion or not? This will require great courage because the whole world is arrayed against them, and against the free recognition of expanded Israeli sovereignty. We need to pray through these next days and weeks for Yehovah God’s favor on our leaders and for “wisdom from above,” permeating their deliberations.

Israeli sovereignty is now officially on the clock – Netanyahu is working with Trump to recognize sovereignty over approx. 30 percent of Judea and Samaria. July 1 was not a deadline.

My position is unchanged. This plan will not lead to a Palestinian state, but instead to more of the land coming into Israel’s possession. When Joshua first won the land it was city by city, not all at once.

My most serious concern is that our leaders could fail the test. For whatever reason (riots, Covid 19, or politics), they must stand together for God’s purpose to restore Israel according to God’s promises (see Ezekiel 36). This is truly in the heart of both men, but external pressures are enormous.

‘Trump would lose Evangelical support if he doesn’t support sovereignty’ – Evangelical leader Mike Evans says Evangelical community expects President Trump to recognize Jewish people’s right to the land of Israel: “Today we have a dream team. The Secretary of State is Mike Pompeo, an Evangelical, and he has changed the direction of the State Department, which has traditionally sought to weaken Israel. Vice President Mike Pence is Israel’s biggest supporter in Washington as [Israeli] Ambassador Ron Dermer has stated. And above all is President Trump, who is the biggest supporter the Evangelical community has ever had and the most pro-Israel president who has ever lived.” – Mike Evans

President Trump has made plenty of mistakes but survives primarily because of his consistent and unprecedented support for Israel. If he ever turned his back on Israel, he would be finished. Pray that he will have courage to stand firm. He is a modern King Cyrus, called to favor and restore Israel, not for his own glory but for God’s.

“And why have I called you for this work? Why did I call you by name when you did not know me? It is for the sake of Jacob my servant, Israel my chosen one. I am Yehovah; there is no other God. I have equipped you for battle, though you don’t even know me,

I will raise up Cyrus to fulfill my righteous purpose, and I will guide his actions. He will restore my city and free my captive people—without seeking a reward! I, Yehovah of Heaven’s Armies, have spoken!” Isaiah 45:4-5, 13 NLT

President Trump has recognized Jerusalem as Israel’s capital and moved our embassy there. He recognized the Golan Heights as part of Israel, and he will recognize more and more of Judea and Samaria as part of Israel. And he does this without seeking a reward, he does not accept a salary as President!

As we pray for Jerusalem, especially at this time, pray COURAGE for President Trump and Prime Minister Netanyahu.

From River to Sea, Israel Will Be Free

“From the river to the sea, Palestine will be free.” What if I told your their slogan is the Satanic counterfeit of Yehovah’s promise to Israel? What if Yehovah’s river border is not the Jordan River, but the Euphrates? Moses and Joshua clearly defined it.

“Every place on which the sole of your foot treads shall be yours: from the wilderness and Lebanon, from the river, the River Euphrates, even to the Western Sea, shall be your territory.” Deuteronomy 11:24

“No man shall be able to stand against you; Yehovah your God will put the dread of you and the fear of you upon all the land where you tread, just as He has said to you.” Deuteronomy 11:25

“From the wilderness and this Lebanon as far as the great river, the River Euphrates, all the land of the Hittites, and to the Great Sea toward the going down of the sun, shall be your territory.” Joshua 1:4

The original promise to Abraham was even more precise, defining the western land border as the Nile River. Later, Isaiah confirmed the same geographical area of Israel’s dominion.

“On the same day Yehovah made a covenant with Abram, saying: “To your descendants I have given this land, from the river of Egypt to the great river, the River Euphrates.”Genesis 15:18

In that day Israel will be one of three with Egypt and Assyria—a blessing in the midst of the land, whom Yehovah of hosts shall bless, saying, “Blessed is Egypt My people, and Assyria the work of My hands, and Israel My inheritance.” Isaiah 19:24-25

Finally, Solomon prophesies the Messianic Kingdom of God reaching the whole world!

“He shall have dominion also from sea to sea, and from the River to the ends of the earth.” Psalm 72:8

Pray for the peace of Jerusalem and pray for seasonal rains for the land.

God’s Land…Period.

This week, eclipsed by the violence, virus, and virtue signalling in media coverage, Israel is at a momentous crossroads of history. Several days of meetings in Washington will determine future borders of Israel.

Trump, top aides to decide this week whether to back Netanyahu’s annexation – ‘Decisive’ White House meeting, to be attended by Pompeo, Kushner, Friedman, said set to determine whether US okays PM’s July 1 plan for sovereignty over settlements, Jordan Valley

Pompeo: Sovereignty is Israel’s decision to make – US Sec. of State says decisions of sovereignty are for Israel to make, moments after UN, Arab League call on Israel to abandon its plans.

The decision by the U.S. will directly affect blessing or judgement on our nation according Genesis 12:3 “I will bless those who bless you, and I will curse him who curses you; and in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed.”

Judea and Samaria are called the “West Bank” by world governments. Yet the Bible clearly includes them in the land Yehovah God granted to Israel. For years I have been saying the issue is not the West Bank, but the East Bank. First, how many rivers are know only by their western banks? Man, in his perpetual rebellion against God, rejects the very solution for Middle East wars proclaimed by God. The peace plan proposed by President Trump is rejected by the usual cast of characters, but particularly by King Abdullah of Jordan. The danger is all his, because he finds himself resisting Almighty God Yehovah. So Jordan backs the PLO in rejecting Trump ‘Deal of the Century’ – Jordan’s rejection of the Trump Plan could see Trump dealing with Jordan the way he dealt with the PLO’s rejection. (Read this op-ed from David Singer for an accurate explanation.)

This is not political, but spiritual. The tide of history has turned from God’s severe judgment of Israel, to His prophesied restoration, blessing, and favor. From 70 AD to 1948 Israel never won a war, but from 1948 to the present Israel has not lost a war. What changed? God Himself turned the page. I have written extensively about the spectacular prophecy of Psalm 102 which describes the Holocaust in graphic detail followed by this critical declaration we now see fulfilled in our rear-view mirror:

You will arise and have mercy on Zion; for the time to favor her, yes, the set time, has come. Psalm 102:13

This will be written for the generation to come, that a people yet to be created may praise Yehovah. Psalm 102:18

The original Hebrew text for verse 18 is amazing. The phrase “generation to come” is mistranslated in almost Bibles. The correct Hebrew is “dowr” דּוֹר which means generation, but the key word is ” ‘acharown” which means “last.” So, Psalm 102 was especially written for the last generation. Before the Holocaust we would not understand the great prophecy of Israel’s favor. But now we see clearly that we are living in the time of God’s restoration and favor to Israel.

My point is simple. No matter what all the nations do, they will never succeed in blocking Yehovah’s eternal plan. The question for us if we will be on the right side of God’s history.

Pray for the decisions this week, which will directly affect the peace of Jerusalem!

Lawlessness Will Abound

Where the police stand down, lawlessness will abound. We see this across our nation. The very first window broken should lead to an arrest. Once it is allowed without consequence it multiplies into lawless riots.

Surprisingly, the word lawlessness does not appear in the KJV. Instead, iniquity is used. Lawlessness is clearer to the 21st Century reader. The word occurs eleven times in the NKJV. We are now in such a period of history in America. Law and order must be restored. Meditate on these verses:

“And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!‘” Matthew 7:23

“The Son of Man will send out His angels, and they will gather out of His kingdom all things that offend, and those who practice lawlessness,” Matthew 13:41

“Even so you also outwardly appear righteous to men, but inside you are full of hypocrisy and lawlessness.” Matthew 23:28

“And because lawlessness will abound, the love of many will grow cold.” Matthew 24:12

“I speak in human terms because of the weakness of your flesh. For just as you presented your members as slaves of uncleanness, and of lawlessness leading to more lawlessness, so now present your members as slaves of righteousness for holiness.” Romans 6:19

“Do not be unequally yoked together with unbelievers. For what fellowship has righteousness with lawlessness? And what communion has light with darkness?” 2 Corinthians 6:14

“For the mystery of lawlessness is already at work; only He who now restrains will do so until He is taken out of the way.” 2 Thessalonians 2:7

“You have loved righteousness and hated lawlessness; Therefore God, Your God, has anointed You With the oil of gladness more than Your companions.” Hebrews 1:9

“Whoever commits sin also commits lawlessness, and sin is lawlessness.” 1 John 3:4

Is there any doubt we are seeing this in our culture today? Isn’t is ironic that these lawless protests are about “slavery?” We must pray for our leaders to have the courage to stand up to the lawless acts or it will get worse and worse. It is not easy to pray for evil leaders. We must pray while not dishonoring their God-given placement in leadership. Paul, the Apostle, spoke accidentally against the high priest and repented, even though Paul had spoken the truth. Remember that the battle is not against flesh and blood, but spiritual wickedness.

Then Paul said, “I did not know, brethren, that he was the high priest; for it is written, ‘You shall not speak evil of a ruler of your people.’ ” Acts 23:5

“You shall not revile God, nor curse a ruler of your people.” Exodus 22:28

It may be tricky to thread the needle of praying with the right Spirit and attitude, but we must rise up and pray! We know the end of the book. We win! So, don’t lose heart. Yehovah has the final say!

Is Zionist a Dirty Word?

A hundred years ago, the word Zion was a positive word sung in many of our hymns, like: “We’re marching to Zion, beautiful, beautiful Zion; we’re marching upward to Zion, the beautiful city of God.” They named churches, schools, towns, and even a national park after Zion, but not so much anymore. The meaning of the word has been sullied and made into a curse word. Anti-Israel propaganda has changed the public perception of the word. No wonder, when it is now used like this: Dirty Zionist, Zionist pigs, Zionist apes, Zionist liars, Zionist occupiers, imperialist Zionists, and racist Zionists. Whew! With this avalanche of epithets, no wonder the average person is confused. (Intro to Blessing Israel)

Yet, I am honored to call myself a Zionist, a Christian Zionist,a Biblical Zionist. The historical prophetic meaning is made clear in over 150 Bible verses. That is the only way to understand that Yehovah God Himself is the number one Zionist. It is not primarily a political term, but a spiritual fact of God’s love and purpose for the land and people of Israel. Here are just a few verses, if you want to know Yehovah God’s heart for Zion.

King on Zion: “Yet I have set My King on My holy hill of Zion.” Psalm 2:6

God dwells in Zion: Sing praises to Yehovah, who dwells in Zion! Declare His deeds among the people. Psalm 9:11

Captives return to Zion: Oh, that the salvation of Israel would come out of Zion! When Yehovah brings back the captivity of His people, let Jacob rejoice and Israel be glad. Psalm 14:7

Zion joy of whole earth: Great is Yehovah, and greatly to be praised in the city of our God, in His holy mountain. Beautiful in elevation, the joy of the whole earth is Mount Zion on the sides of the north, the city of the great King. God is in her palaces; He is known as her refuge. Psalm 48:1-3

Favor Zion: You will arise and have mercy on Zion; for the time to favor her, yes, the set time, has come. For Your servants take pleasure in her stones, and show favor to her dust. So the nations shall fear the name of Yehovah, and all the kings of the earth Your glory. For Yehovah shall build up Zion; He shall appear in His glory. Psalm 102:13-16

God rests in Zion: For Yehovah has chosen Zion; He has desired it for His dwelling place: “This is My resting place forever; here I will dwell, for I have desired it.” Psalm 132:13-14

Salvation in Zion: I bring My righteousness near, it shall not be far off; My salvation shall not linger. And I will place salvation in Zion, for Israel My glory. Isaiah 46:13

Ransomed return to Zion: So the ransomed of Yehovah shall return, and come to Zion with singing, with everlasting joy on their heads. They shall obtain joy and gladness; sorrow and sighing shall flee away. Isaiah 51:11

Zeal for Zion: So the angel who spoke with me said to me, “Proclaim, saying, ‘Thus says Yehovah of hosts: “I am zealous for Jerusalem and for Zion with great zeal.“ Again proclaim, saying, ‘Thus says Yehovah of hosts:“My cities shall again spread out through prosperity; Yehovah will again comfort Zion, and will again choose Jerusalem.” Zechariah 1:14, 17

Cornerstone in Zion: Therefore it is also contained in the Scripture, “Behold, I lay in Zion a chief cornerstone, elect, precious, and he who believes on Him will by no means be put to shame.” 1 Peter 2:6

Pray for favor for Zion and peace for Jerusalem!

ASK for Shalom from Jerusalem

Rabbi Yehuda Glick – Jerusalem

One of the most famous prayers in the Bible is found in Psalm 122:6, but do you know what happens when you invoke that prayer? I just learned something this week that is brand new to me.

PRAY FOR THE PEACE OF JERUSALEM. MAY THEY PROSPER WHO LOVE YOU.

Rabbi Yehuda Glick (aka: the red-headed Rabbi) led live prayers and Psalms from the Temple Mount in Jerusalem on Thursday. He enlisted about a dozen pastors from the U.S. (via ZOOM) to pray for America, including my friend Keith Johnson. He walked around the Temple Mount on a beautiful day in Jerusalem giving a mini-tour during the prayers. You can watch it at this link. They each read a Psalm from the Songs of Ascent, Psalms 120-134.

Rabbi Glick explained that we can ask for the “peace of Jerusalem” to come to us, for our nation, for our family. I always thought of the prayer being directed to Jerusalem, but rather, the peace is given by Yehovah to us from Jerusalem, when we ask!

In fact, a simple Hebrew word study shows that the word translated “pray” in English is really “ask.” What a major difference that makes!

ASK FOR THE PEACE OF JERUSALEM.

If you still doubt, look up the word for “prosper.” Prosperity is not the primary meaning. In the Strong’s Concordance entry, “prosper” is only part of the meaning of the Hebrew word: שָׁלָה shalah: to be at rest, prosper, be quiet, be at ease

So, the verse starts with asking and ends with the petitioner receiving rest. What a great prayer to ask for our country with the virus and the riots. It also applies personally to all who are in fear and panic. When we ask for the peace of Jerusalem, God brings His peace, His shalom to us. It is the same formula in Genesis.

“I will bless those who bless you, and I will curse him who curses you; and in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed.” Genesis 12:3

Ironically, Rabbi Glick was attacked within three hours of that prayer from the Temple Mount. It was the second time someone attempted to assassinate him. The first in 2014, was a miraculous deliverance from being shot four times at close range, but surviving. Why is he a target? He has fought for years for the Temple Mount to be a house of prayer for all nations. Currently, only Muslims are allowed to pray there, even though Israel has freedom of religion, just not on the location of the the Temple. Pray protection and courage for him. Reporting after the attack, he said he will never stop.

Now when you “Ask” for Jerusalem, you are praying for Jerusalem to be blessed and for Jerusalem to BE a blessing to the world. Hallelujah! May that eternal peace of Jerusalem, which will be manifest when the Messiah comes, be in the hearts of all who believe in Him.

White Privilege or God Privilege?

There is much talk these days about white privilege. But allow me to explain something. The Bible is clear in declaring: Blessed is the nation whose God is Yehovah. God deals with us on two levels. He deals with nations, and he works with individuals. Jesus will judge between sheep and goat nations, but each of us will stand before Him on our own.

Historically many who accepted the Gospel happened to be white, since the message spread through Europe, which led to blessing and favor from God. In Africa, one of the most blessed nations happens to be Kenya. Are Kenyans white? They are blessed because 80% of Kenyans follow Jesus. Privilege is the favor of God, not the color of our skin.

The United States was largely founded by people who followed Jesus. Even though many have rejected Him in recent decades, America is still reaping the blessings and favor of God from our ancestors. This is not racial favor, it is Jesus favor. His blessings are for whosoever wills to serve Him.

The church is multi-racial with one culture, the Kingdom culture. When we emphasize ethnic culture to divide us, we learn hate and prejudice. We should embrace each other’s unique cultural values, but become one as Americans and as believers. That is where the blessing, and favor, and privilege comes from. Our fight is not against other humans, but we must resist the evil lies and plans of Satan. We are in a spiritual battle where the devil seeks to set us against one another. Resist him. Rise up and follow the living God of Israel and His Son, the Messiah Yeshua. Love your neighbor as yourself.

Let all the earth fear Yehovah; Let all the inhabitants of the world stand in awe of Him.

For He spoke, and it was done; He commanded, and it stood fast. Yehovah brings the counsel of the nations to nothing; He makes the plans of the peoples of no effect. The counsel of Yehovah stands forever, the plans of His heart to all generations.

Blessed is the nation whose God is Yehovah, the people He has chosen as His own inheritance.

Yehovah looks from heaven; He sees all the sons of men. From the place of His dwelling He looks on all the inhabitants of the earth; He fashions their hearts individually; He considers all their works. Psalm 33:8-15

He fashions their hearts individually. We each are given a choice of life and death. Choose life! Those of you who know me have heard me say the same thing when asked how I am doing. “I am blessed more than I deserve!” That is the absolute truth, even though I borrowed that saying from Dave Ramsey. We are saved by grace, we don’t earn or deserve this wonderful salvation life. Pray for our nations and pray for every person to stand “under the spout where the glory comes out.” It is all from God. Hallelujah!

And they sang a new song, saying: “You are worthy to take the scroll, and to open its seals; For You were slain, and have redeemed us to God by Your blood out of every tribe and tongue and people and nation” Revelation 5:9

Pray for the peace of Jerusalem and pray for seasonal rains in abundance.

Happy Pentecost/Shavuot 2020

Today Jews celebrate Shavuot, which is celebrated by Christians as Pentecost this Sunday. What is the meaning of this holiday? Jews observe it to honor the giving of the Torah and Ten Commandments on Mt. Sinai. Written by the hand of Yehovah, Moses introduced them to the people. The laws became the basic legal code of modern civilization in the Western world. Shavuot means weeks. Seven weeks were counted from Passover to the wheat harvest in Israel, followed by a Sabbath rest. Shavuot is also called “first fruits” because of the first harvest.

Christians use the Greek word Pentecost, which means fifty days after Passover. Recorded in Acts 2, it was the day that the Holy Spirit was poured out in fulfillment of Joel 2:28-32. Christians consider the 3,000 Jews filled with the Holy Spirit that day as the “first fruit” of the church.

When the Day of Pentecost had fully come, they were all with one accord in one place. And suddenly there came a sound from heaven, as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled the whole house where they were sitting. Then there appeared to them divided tongues, as of fire, and one sat upon each of them. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance. Acts 2:1-4

We pray that there is a new outpouring of the Holy Spirit in these days of great trials in the whole world. May it be the beginning of the great last days harvest of souls for the Kingdom of Yeshua, the Messiah.

Can’t Make This Up Dept. – Grand Prize

Today’s report is not made up. The Iranian Parliament has voted (seriously) to ban all Israeli tech. Therefore, I have awarded Iran the 2020 Grand Prize in the “You can’t make this up Department,” even though it is only May 26. The Ayatollah, the Parliament, and the President all agree. The legislation passed by parliament brands any cooperation with Israel as an “act against God.” (Of course, they did not say “God,” they said “Allah.”)

Iranian President Hassan Rouhani on Tuesday issued an executive order requiring the implementation of a law passed last week that bars any cooperation with Israel, including the use of Israeli software and hardware. Times of Israel

Iran has banned all use of Israeli tech. Really? That would set it back 50 years – New law bars cooperation with Zionists, including ‘hardware and software,’ as crime against God. So, no computers, internet, cellphones; healthcare ravaged; and no BMW for Khamenei.

An Iran without “Israel inside,” Singer said, “would make North Korea look advanced and cosmopolitan. Essentially, Iran would go back to the world of 50 years ago, maybe more. It would look like a huge Amish colony in Muslim garb.” Saul Singer

The Bible is not Ancient

To most modern Americans, the Bible is an ancient collection of out of date stories. But that is wrong. The Bible is more current than today’s newspaper headlines, because God sees the end from the beginning. The word of God is living energy, transforming everything it touches. Consider this verse.

For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. Hebrews 4:12

The phrase “living and powerful” comes from Greek words that mean “alive” and “energy.” God’s word is alive! God’s word is energy! Think about it. His words are not lying around in some dead letter office. His message is throbbing with life, imparting life, breathing His very being into ours as we listen to Him.

When He speaks it is far more than inspiration. Powerful energy is released into our spirit, soul, and body. You need to understand that literally. When you are feeling blah, and listless, hearing the voice of God fires you up. I am not talking about the Bible as opinions of various writers, but as the Holy Spirit breathing out the very voice of the living Yehovah God, King of Creation.

All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness. 2 Timothy 3:16 ESV

God lives outside of the human time/space continuum. When He speaks into our human condition, there is a supernatural effect. It is beyond natural. He speaks through the Bible, through visions and dreams, through prophesies, and even through circumstances. The key for us is to see what He is saying, to listen expectantly, ready to receive.

Most people think God never speaks to them. That is dead wrong. God speaks to every person on this planet. The problem is that we are not listening, or don’t want to listen, or are just too busy with our own selfish pursuits. The problem is that there are too many voices. Think of it as a radio with hundreds of stations with every imaginable programming. But, you hear every station, every frequency all at once, at the same time. Somewhere in the cacophony of sounds assailing your senses, there is one clear channel with the voice of God. How do you tune Him in, and tune the others out? The others are louder and demanding, and yet God is speaking. Can you hear Him? Try it.

Pastor John Thrift preached Sunday at Grace Assembly in Wake Forest, NC. He talked about a great commandment that is rarely preached. When Jesus appeared on the mountain with Moses and Elijah, who represented the Law and the Prophets, God gave a clear command. When Peter started talking, God interrupted Peter. Think of that. Even Peter was talking when he should have been listening. Whew!

Yehovah directed Peter to Jesus, His “beloved Son,” and commanded: “Hear Him!”

He (Peter) was still speaking when, behold, a bright cloud overshadowed them, and a voice from the cloud said, “This is my beloved Son, with whom I am well pleased; listen to him.” Matthew 17:5 ESV

Have you ever considered that commandment? Are you talking, instead of listening? Maybe it is time pay attention to His voice? Consider what I say. Try praying this simple prayer: “Speak, Lord, your servant is listening.”

Trump Ziklag Prophecy

The National Day of Prayer prophecy over President Donald Trump was overlooked by many, but has great significance. The President’s personal pastor, Paula White, spoke a powerful prophetic word that he and our nation would “recover all.” This was taken from King David’s heart-cry to God at a time of desperation. When David returned from battle, his camp at Ziklag had been overrun by the enemy who had taken captive the wives and children. David wept and sought God for an answer and guidance. Paula White prophetically applied this same counsel to President Trump, based on this text.

So David inquired of YEHOVAH, saying, “Shall I pursue this troop? Shall I overtake them?” And He answered him, “Pursue, for you shall surely overtake them and without fail recover all.” 1 Samuel 30:8

Here is the text of Paula White’s May 7, 2020 word to the President in the Rose Garden at the National Day of Prayer. Several spiritual leaders prayed, but I believe this prayer and prophecy was from God.

“President, one last word,” she said, turning to Trump. “Like David, who had had victory after victory after victory after victory, would face his biggest battle—it was called Ziklag—and they would take his wives and his children and the city would be burned down. And he cried and he wept, and he began to pray out to God, and God gave him a word. And through fasting and praying, I believe this is the word for you and for this nation. The Lord spoke to him and said, ‘Pursue and go after them, and you shall, without fail, recover all.’ Sir, the word of the Lord, I believe, for this nation and this administration is: ‘You will recover all.'” Charisma Magazine

I believe we are at a turning point in the virus/economy crisis. A number of leaders, such as Lance Wallnau, are pointing toward Pentecost on May 31. We need to be in serious intercession for our President, our country, and also for Israel. We are joined with Israel because our President stands with Israel. Pray for Prime Minister Netanyahu, who has now been sworn in for his fifth term as Prime Minister. He now faces old legal charges, with the trial starting next week. Pray for his exoneration. Yehovah has the final say!

Pray for the peace of Jerusalem and continue to faithfully pray for seasonal rains.

Are You a Watcher?

Can you “see” something when someone is speaking words? There are degrees of seeing and hearing from God, that most never realize. Yet, we are called to “see” what God is saying. My friend, Sharon Sanders, of Christian Friends of Israel Jerusalem, recently shared a profound truth. Her prophetic intercessors prayer letter referenced a Hebrew scholar with great insight, which I quote in this excerpt:

According to Chaim Bentorah, a Biblical Hebrew Studies teacher, we can “see” what someone “says.” He states that the word ra’ah means a physical and spiritual seeing… This takes a close guarding according to Chaim, something like a bodyguard or secret service agent whose entire attention and focus are on observing things that everyone around him are not observing. It’s like looking for any subtle hint or movement, which may signal a threat to his mission of protection.

Our goals in prayer are to discern the situation before us, through prayer and to determine whether Israel might be in danger. We need to be focused in our watch time when praying for Israel. … We need to watch to see if God is saying something specific to our hearts. Sharon Sanders, CFI Jerusalem (March 2020)

When we use the phrase “God’s word,” we usually mean Scripture, but every Bible verse was first spoken by God. The power of words is in the speaking, or the saying of what is on God’s heart. Do you “see” what He is saying? There is way more in His words than the simple grammar. What is God saying to you, to us? Can you see it, and really hear it?

I will stand my watch
And set myself on the rampart,
And watch to see what He will say to me,
And what I will answer when I am corrected. Habakkuk 2:1

Dear Heavenly Father, Yehovah God, please give us ears to hear and eyes to see what you are showing us when you speak.

Learning to Listen in Lock-down

What did you learn during the global pandemic lock-down? Let’s get personal. I hope you slowed down enough to listen to God. Today I am sharing life lessons from two friends, Hannah Bochert and Bob Mumford. I don’t think they know each other, but each heard from God and encouraged me to slow down and listen to the voice of God during this present crises.

Doreen and I enjoyed getting to know Hannah on our Israel tour last June. She is Youth Pastor at Grace Assembly in Wake Forest, NC. She is a young lady who loves Jesus with all her heart.

Bob Mumford, on the other hand, is approaching ninety years with a lifetime of pursuing intimacy with Father God. I first met Bob in June 1968. It has been my honor to fellowship with him in recent years in a small accountability group of brothers in Raleigh, NC.

Hear from two disparate believers by age and gender, hearing the same cry of the Lord Jesus: “Listen to me.” I am blessed to have each as my friend. This week Bob posted a video titled, “The Skill of Still.” We need to learn to intentionally listen to God. Here is his text and the 7 minute video link.

Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth! Psalm 46:10

Hannah shared an excellent analogy of how we react when someone whispers to us. We lean in to catch every word. We lean in close. That is what we need to do with God. She also pointed out that we are not willing to let a stranger whisper in our ear. It requires an intimacy that is not appropriate. Whispering is an intimacy reserved for close friends. What a treasure that Jesus is our friend. Let’s listen to him. Here is Hannah’s text and her 9 minute video link from Grace Assembly.

Then He said, “Go out, and stand on the mountain before YEHOVAH.” And behold, YEHOVAH passed by, and a great and strong wind tore into the mountains and broke the rocks in pieces before YEHOVAH, but YEHOVAH was not in the wind; and after the wind an earthquake, but the LORD was not in the earthquake; and after the earthquake a fire, but YEHOVAH was not in the fire; and after the fire a still small voice. 1 Kings 19:12

You may have complained about the forced lock-down at first, but I trust you also found a new intimacy with our Heavenly Father through the voice of the Holy Spirit. The good news is that we can continue a new level of “leaning in,” even as we again ramp up our busy lives. Don’t leave home without it!

A Psalm for President Trump

Psalm 11 is for President Trump in the days of the Covid 19 virus. Originally written by King David of Israel 3,000 years ago, please open your mind to see that it applies to our President today (and equally to Israel’s PM Netanyahu, and to all God-fearing people). I will go verse by verse with comments between verses.

1. I trust in YEHOVAH for protection. So why do you say to me, “Fly like a bird to the mountains for safety!

“Panic! The sky is falling. The virus is going to kill everybody. Run and hide for safety?” No! Trust in Yehovah God for protection.

2. The wicked are stringing their bows and fitting their arrows on the bowstrings. They shoot from the shadows at those whose hearts are right.

The enemies hide in darkness and shoot down truth, hiding behind these words: “anonymous, high official says, sources tell us, administration officials say, from a department source, many experts say, scientists say, insiders report, survey says, poll concludes, renown commentator wrote, my contacts say, allegedly.” Learn to recognize these words. They are words from the shadows.

3. The foundations of law and order have collapsed. What can the righteous do?”

We can do the most effective remedy…trust God. It is time to wake up, stand up, and speak up for the righteousness of the living God YEHOVAH and His Son Jesus, Yeshua ben Yehovah!

4. But YEHOVAH is in his holy Temple; YEHOVAH still rules from heaven. He watches everyone closely, examining every person on earth.

This is God’s safety promise. Some officials act like gods. Hitler started by tracing Jews in Nazi Germany: Churchgoers Must Register With the Government in Kansas City – May 1, 2020 Kansas City, Missouri, officials are now requiring every church to submit a list of members and attendees along with their names, addresses and telephone numbers to city officials for tracking and surveillance purposes. 5. YEHOVAH examines both the righteous and the wicked. He hates those who love violence.

But you, my dear friends, must remember what the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ said. They told you that in the last times there would be scoffers whose purpose in life is to satisfy their ungodly desires. These people are the ones who are creating divisions among you. They follow their natural instincts because they do not have God’s Spirit in them. Jude 17-19 NLT

6. He will rain down blazing coals and burning sulfur on the wicked, punishing them with scorching winds.

Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap. Galations 6:7

7. For the righteous YEHOVAH loves justice. The virtuous will see his face.

…and they will tell it to the inhabitants of this land. They have heard that You, YEHOVAH, are among these people; that You, YEHOVAH, are seen face to face and Your cloud stands above them, and You go before them in a pillar of cloud by day and in a pillar of fire by night. Numbers 14:14

Pray for President Trump. Pray for Prime Minister Netanyahu. Pray for rain in Israel. Pray for the peace of Jerusalem.

Yehovah Has the Final Say!

Last week I wrote about the phased re-opening of various states after the virus panic. Today I show parallels with Joshua conquering ancient Canaan, and modern Israel re-claiming Judea and Samaria. Citizens of the U.S. must re-take our constitutional freedoms phase by phase. The same was true for Joshua. Israel did not just move into the Land at once. They had to win it city by city, tribe by tribe.

Also, do not make the mistake of accusing Israel of an immoral or illegal enterprise in possessing the Land. It was promised to them by Yehovah God 500 years earlier. God gave Israel the Land because the Canaanites worshiped false gods, shed innocent blood (human sacrifice), and lived in perverse immorality. Leviticus 18 and 20 give graphic detail of the abominations. Yehovah then warns Israel that if they do the same iniquity they too will be cast out of the Land.

“You must keep all my decrees and regulations by putting them into practice; otherwise the land to which I am bringing you as your new home will vomit you out. Do not live according to the customs of the people I am driving out before you. It is because they do these shameful things that I detest them. But I have promised you, ‘You will possess their land because I will give it to you as your possession—a land flowing with milk and honey.’ I am YEHOVAH your God, who has set you apart from all other people.” Leviticus 20:22-24 NLT

Even so, God did not hand it to them on a silver platter. They had to win it city by city. I think we all find that true in our own lives. Growing in grace with the Lord Jesus is a process in which we only conquer with the power of the Holy Spirit. Self-control is not an act of our will, it the fruit of walking in the Holy Spirit. Eventually, we learn to yield to His control, not by strength of will-power, but by the choice of our will to yield.

Likewise, even though President Trump’s deal of the century allows Israel to extend sovereignty over Judea and Samaria, they must do it phase by phase. It can begin July 1. Pray for wisdom and unity for the new government as they proceed. Since the Palestinians have rejected the plan, Israel is free to act with U.S. backing.

State Dept. Ready to Recognize Application of Israeli Law in West Bank – TEL AVIV – The U.S. on Monday said it was ready to recognize Israel’s annexation of Jewish settlements in the West Bank, but asked Israel’s newly formed unity government to also negotiate with the Palestinians. “As we have made consistently clear, we are prepared to recognize Israeli actions to extend Israeli sovereignty and the application of Israeli law to areas of the West Bank that the vision foresees as being part of the State of Israel,” a U.S. State Department spokesperson said.

We are moving into exciting and dangerous times. Pray now more than ever for the God of Israel to show the way of peace. It is not in trading land for peace, but in possessing the Land of Promise according to Yehovah’s Plan of Eternity. This is the path to the soon coming of Messiah Yeshua and true peace for Jerusalem.

The Disappearing Palestinians

This week Israel is celebrating it 72nd Independence Day. The population has reached 9.2 million citizens. Jews are nearly seven million and Arabs nearly two million. But an amazing phenomena was identified in a major annual survey just release by The Jewish People Policy Institute. There is a major shift occurring in the Arab/Palestinian community. Palestinians are “disappearing.” Look at the changes in just one year in the above identity chart of non-Jew residents of Israel.

A dramatic increase, compared with last year, in the percentage of non-Jews who consider their primary identity to be “Israeli,” and a concurrent sharp decline in the percentage of those who define their identity as “Palestinian.” JPPI

Notice the decrease in the “Palestinian” category from 18% to just 7% in one year. Also notice the big increase in the “Israeli” category from 5% to 23%. These are non-Jews! So, what can we see prophetically from these trends?

First, the world media is way off. They repeat the narrative that Palestinian Arabs hate Israel, are terribly oppressed, and live in an “apartheid” state. Yet this and many other surveys on the ground tell a completely different story.

Second, this is evidence to me that God is working in the Arabs as well as the Jews to move toward the “one new man,” that Paul prophesies in Ephesians.

For we are his workmanship, created in Messiah Yeshua for good works, which God prepared before that we would walk in them. Therefore remember that once you, the Goyim in the flesh, who are called “uncircumcision” by that which is called “circumcision,” (in the flesh, made by hands); that you were at that time separate from Messiah, alienated from the commonwealth of Yisra’el, and strangers from the covenants of the promise, having no hope and without God in the world. But now in Messiah Yeshua you who once were far off are made near in the blood of Messiah. For he is our shalom, who made both one, and broke down the middle wall of partition, having abolished in the flesh the hostility, the law of mitzvot contained in ordinances, that he might create in himself one new man of the two, making shalom; Ephesians 2:10-15 Hebrew Names Version

Pray for all the residents of land of Israel for their salvation and unity. Pray for the peace of Jerusalem and pray for rain.

Why Phased Opening After Virus?

Challis, Id Let’s take a more positive look at the phased re-opening of America. It is now time. President Trump has already released states to begin re-opening the economy. The virus is now manageable because of all the work done in less than two months. Also, it was vastly over hyped. If the original models of 2.2 million deaths had been correct, we should not re-open. But they were wrong by a factor of 30X more than the present prediction of 61,000 deaths. Still, why not open everything all at once? Perhaps it is more appropriate than you think. Perhaps this is exposing the evil intent of the “Haman spirit.” What if there is hidden wisdom in the phased plan?

President Trump released the governors to open on their own individual terms. Allow me to explain why this is critical wisdom and courageous leadership. His critics did not expect him to let the governors decide.

When President Trump gave the okay to begin with phased guidelines, it was wisdom. It is already clear that blue state governors are stretching the phases out. They may be sincerely cautious, but it is also a political calculation. They believe they will have a better chance to defeat Trump in the election if the economy is hurting. The red states are moving faster. Since the people all over the country want to open, they will have growing frustration with the slow roll-out. Our state of North Carolina is an example of a Democrat prolonging the timeline. This is a swing state and frustration among the people will likely cost him the election.

Why am I spending my blog on this topic? I believe tough times require courage and wisdom. That is my prayer for all of our leaders at every level. Let’s take a deeper look at Joshua. Our country was built on faith and courage. We do cower before any enemy, including this “invisible enemy.” It is time to rise up with faith in God and the courage to face this enemy moving forward, not in retreat. Here are our marching orders!

After the death of Moses the servant of Yehovah, it came to pass that Yehovah spoke to Joshua the son of Nun, Moses’ assistant, saying:“Moses My servant is dead. Now therefore, arise, go over this Jordan, you and all this people, to the land which I am giving to them—the children of Israel. Israel Election SUCCESS!

We now have a government! After three elections and a year-long stalemate, Israel finally has a unity governing agreement. Prime Minister Netanyahu will be the PM for a year and a half, followed by Gantz, also for 18 months. This is a win-win for Netanyahu and the conservative Zionist parties. Here is a countdown of the top five most important aspects of the agreement.

5. Netanyahu’s Likud Party will have the Knesset Speakership.

4. There will be a record 36 Ministers and 16 Deputy Ministers, split equally between the Center-Right and Center Left.

3. The orthodox religious parties won a victory in that the cabinet would set quotas for religious military drafts, rather than the Knesset, and thus better for orthodox males.

2. Likud won veto power in the Judicial Committee which would help turn the Supreme Court in a more conservative direction. Gantz’s former allies fume over coalition deal with Netanyahu – Lapid slams Blue and White for agreeing to allow PM ‘to appoint the judges that will adjudicate his affairs’;

And the number one victory in the agreement?

1. ANNEXATION! Netanyahu and Gantz agreed to officially begin extending Israel sovereignty into areas of Judea and Samaria (West Bank), especially the Jordan Valley. This would begin as soon as July 1, and would be in cooperation with the U.S. Deal of the Century peace plan. Unity deal allows Netanyahu to begin advancing annexation from July 1 – Move must be carried out in full cooperation with US, which has all but given its blessing already; can be advanced through cabinet or Knesset, where right enjoys clear majority.

So, how does this fulfill Bible prophecy? Well, first, it finally ends the impotent Oslo Peace Plan of 1993 that has only led to bloodshed because of the Palestinian false hope. They wrongly call it “occupied territory” when the legal term is “disputed territory.”

Second, it allows Israel to legally expand to more of the Biblical Promised Land. This is as big or bigger than President Trump’s recognition of Jerusalem as Israel’s eternal capital, moving the U.S. Embassy, and Trump’s recognition of Israel’s annexation of the Golan Heights. Even though the Trump plan still talks about two states, I believe this signals the end of that false hope as well. God gave the land to Israel according to Scripture and it will be Israel’s land!

Yehovah God will bless Israel and the United States as this is accomplished. Those who would divide the land are on the wrong side of history as the saying goes.

At the time of those events,” says Yehovah, “when I restore the prosperity of Judah and Jerusalem, I will gather the armies of the world into the valley of Jehoshaphat. There I will judge them for harming my people, my special possession, for scattering my people among the nations, and for dividing up my land. Joel 3:1-2 NLT

Two Responses to Favor in Judgment

So what have you learned so far from the pandemic? God is with us, you know. He is here, and He is speaking to us. He always speaks to each of us. You may say that He does not talk to you, but you would be wrong. God speaks, we just aren’t listening or we don’t know how. I will let you in on a little secret. You get better at listening with practice! After you have poured out all your own prayer requests, stay a little longer and listen. Learn to recognize Him. He explains a lot to us when we tune in. It really does take practice, so don’t give up. Here is some pretty clear guidance for how to respond to the judgments of God in the earth.

At night my soul longs for You, Indeed, my spirit within me seeks You diligently; For when the earth experiences Your judgments the inhabitants of the world learn righteousness.

Though the wicked is shown favor, He does not learn righteousness; he deals unjustly in the land of uprightness, and does not perceive the majesty of YEHOVAH. Isaiah 26:9-10 NASB

Has God favored you with life and provision? Has He blessed you with more than you deserve? It is possible to see and hear God in favor and even in judgment. It is our opportunity to learn righteousness. The wicked have the opposite reaction. They hate God and get angry at Him and continue in their wicked injustice. The wicked ones don’t get it. Instead of being in awe at the majesty of Yehovah, they curse Him and suffer in their self-inflicted pain. On national TV, New York Gov. Cuomo declared that God did not save us, we ourselves did. During this coronavirus pandemic we should pray for a great awakening in America to see and hear the answers provided by our majestic and loving Heavenly Father through His Son, Jesus the Messiah.

Pray for the peace of Jerusalem and thank Him for the abundant rains in Israel.

Sea of Galilee Nearly Full

The last time the floodgates were opened was 1992. The lowest level, recorded in 2001, was 19 feet below what it is today! The Sea of Galilee (also called Kinnert) is only seven inches from full, and is gaining an inch a day. More rain is forecast for this week and the Spring runoff from Mt Hermon is continuing. It is likely water will be released into the Jordan River soon. Our prayers are answered. Praise the Lord! This is a Biblical sign of God’s blessing. It reminds us that even in the time of great testing from the virus pandemic and economic doomsayers, Yehovah God is accumulating His blessing to be poured out on those who wait for Him. Let the sea roar!

Please read and meditate on this great Scripture from the dedication of David’s Tabernacle when the Ark of the Covenant was placed in an open tent for all to gather for worship. Notice I intentionally use the accurate translation of God’s name rather than the generic “LORD,” which is wrongly used in English translations throughout the Old Testament. This passage is so much stronger using God’s real name!

Sing to YEHOVAH , all the earth; Proclaim the good news of His salvation from day to day. Declare His glory among the nations, His wonders among all peoples.

For YEHOVAH is great and greatly to be praised; He is also to be feared above all gods. For all the gods of the peoples are idols, But YEHOVAH  made the heavens. Honor and majesty are before Him; strength and gladness are in His place.

Give to YEHOVAH , O families of the peoples, Give to YEHOVAH  glory and strength. Give to YEHOVAH  the glory due His name; Bring an offering, and come before Him. Oh, worship YEHOVAH  in the beauty of holiness!

Tremble before Him, all the earth. The world also is firmly established, It shall not be moved. Let the heavens rejoice, and let the earth be glad; And let them say among the nations, “YEHOVAH  reigns.”

Let the sea roar, and all its fullness; Let the field rejoice, and all that is in it. Then the trees of the woods shall rejoice before YEHOVAH , For He is coming to judge the earth. Oh, give thanks to YEHOVAH , for He is good! For His mercy endures forever. And say, “Save us, O God of our salvation; Gather us together, and deliver us from the Gentiles, to give thanks to Your holy name, to triumph in Your praise.”

Blessed be YEHOVAH God of Israel from everlasting to everlasting! And all the people said, “Amen!” and praised YEHOVAH.  1 Chronicles 16:23-36

Does that bring into focus what David was really doing? He had a personal relationship of intimacy with the God of Israel that he wanted to introduce to everyone in Israel. It was too bad God was again shut up in the inner confines of the temple of Solomon.

What is Useless Faith?

Both Passover and Christian Passion Week culminate in firstfruits. For Jews it is the beginning of the barley harvest. For Christians it the beginning of eternal life and the defeat of death’s power over believers. Yeshua, our Messiah, did not stay in the tomb. He was raised from the dead. He is alive! His resurrection was the absolute vanquishing of Satan’s final trump card. The phrase “useless faith” is self-contradictory, it is an oxymoron. It is no faith at all. There is no more critical foundation of our faith than resurrection from the dead and eternal life with Yehovah God through His Son, Yeshua ben Yehovah. Anything less is totally useless faith. It is no faith at all. We don’t follow Jesus because He was a great teacher or did miracles. We serve Him because He paid the price for our sin with His own blood, death, and resurrection. We will live eternally because He lives!

The Resurrection of the Dead – But tell me this—since we preach that Christ rose from the dead, why are some of you saying there will be no resurrection of the dead? For if there is no resurrection of the dead, then Christ has not been raised either. And if Christ has not been raised, then all our preaching is useless, and your faith is useless.And we apostles would all be lying about God—for we have said that God raised Christ from the grave. But that can’t be true if there is no resurrection of the dead. And if there is no resurrection of the dead, then Christ has not been raised. And if Christ has not been raised, then your faith is useless and you are still guilty of your sins. In that case, all who have died believing in Christ are lost! And if our hope in Christ is only for this life, we are more to be pitied than anyone in the world. But in fact, Christ has been raised from the dead. He is the first of a great harvest of all who have died. 1 Corinthians 15:12-20 NLT

The Ultimate Antidote

THE HINGE OF HISTORY

As humanity battles “the invisible enemy” Coronavirus, a much more deadly disease threatens our eternal destiny. While there is no vaccine yet for the virus, Yehovah has provided the antidote for sin that seeks to block our eternal relationship with our loving Father God. His plan is revealed in the Passover and Resurrection Day. We celebrate both this week. (See: 2020 Passover at Home). Each has three parts revealing God’s purpose of redemption.

Passover’s three parts are unleavened bread, the passing over of the death angel, and firstfruits. Each point to the Lamb Messiah. He was unleavened by sin, He died in our place, and He rose from the dead. The Exodus account is a prophetic look ahead to the actual historic reality of Jesus two thousand years ago. How ironic that Passover 2020 mimics the conditions of the first Passover. They were given the “stay at home order” just as we are today. We too, must apply the blood to the doorposts, not only of our doors but on our hearts.

THE HINGE OF HISTORY – When Yeshua finally came there were also three key elements. I call His “Passion Week” the Hinge of History. Every hinge has three pieces. One piece attaches to the door and one to the doorpost. The third is the pin that connects the two. It is critical that we understand the cross broke the curse and delivered us from death through the shed blood of the Lamb. But redemption would have failed without the other two pieces.

Jesus was tempted to save His own life in the Gethsemane prayer. Three times He asked His Father for another way, yet each time ended with: “Not my will, but your will be done!” Without that prayerful surrender there would have been no cross.

Likewise, when He died, if He had not been raised, Satan would have won. Death would be victorious. But He did not stay in the grave. He lives! Death was defeated for all who embrace Him as the Messiah Lamb of God. (Please read all of 1 Corinthians 15)

And if Christ has not been raised, then your faith is useless and you are still guilty of your sins. 1 Corinthians 15:17 NLT

My dear children, I am writing this to you so that you will not sin. But if anyone does sin, we have an advocate who pleads our case before the Father. He is Jesus Christ, the one who is truly righteous. He himself is the sacrifice that atones for our sins, and not only our sins but the sins of all the world. 1 John 2:1-2 NLT

Jesus, the Son of God, or as said in Hebrew: Yeshua ben Yehovah is the antidote!

Notice I do not use the name: Easter. That is the name of a pagan goddess, and should have no association whatsoever to the resurrection of Jesus. The season is called Passover and is rich with deep meaning that ultimately connects believing Jews and Christians as one new man through the Messiah.

God Will Make a Way!

“God will make a way where there seems to be no way!” Doreen and I remember one of our best family vacations was in the mid-eighties. We had a brand new car and took a wonderful road trip from Florida to New England with our three girls. It was notable for two things (in no particular order). My Mom sent along her famous peanut butter fudge, which we sampled each time we crossed a state line (love New England). The other was that every morning we started the day with our favorite song, God Will Make a Way. Watching Pastor Randy & Peggy Morris share that song this morning released tears of worship and thankfulness for God’s faithfulness. Every book I have written has that foundation. God is faithful. Yehovah is faithful.

We learned a new song with the same message while ministering in Kenya. Carol Achieng led the worship and Michael Masambu led the PDA Youth Conference (Purpose, Destiny, Achievement). Here are the lyrics:

“Who has the final say? Yehovah has the final say. Who has the final say? Yehovah has the final say. He turned my life around. He turned my life around. He makes a way where there seems no way. Yehovah has the final say!”

Doreen and I watched as our rental house burned down with all our possessions in 2001. The miraculous presence of the Holy Spirit ministered supernatural peace at that time. That gave rise to my paraphrase: “peace that doesn’t make sense.” Logically we had every right to “freak out” and fall apart. But no, God was faithful. He was right there with us through it. It was real. We still have that peace and never did fall apart, even though some thought we would after the shock wore off. But, rather we have experienced over and over and over that He is faithful. Hallelujah!

Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:6-7

If we are faithless, He remains faithful; He cannot deny Himself.2 Timothy 2:13

2020 Passover at Home

Exodus 12:3 describes the original Passover as being held in one house per family. Today it is usually a community event. But originally each family was quarantined in their own home, with blood on the doorposts, until the death angel passed over their family. Our 2020 Passover is more like the original one than ever.

I love the Dry Bones take on current events. Just click on the picture to go to his site. The Israeli cartoonist, Yaachov Kirschen, has a knack for taking the Pharisee religious spirit down a notch or two. In this cartoon he reveals the tension between the global virus threat and observing Passover religiously. The Passover table always has an empty cup for Elijah because of this verse:

Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet before the coming of the great and dreadful day of Yehovah. And he will turn The hearts of the fathers to the children, and the hearts of the children to their fathers, lest I come and strike the earth with a curse.” Malachi 4:5-6

But what are we going to do about Passover? Is it okay to observe it later? Why can’t we do it at home? Both are options. Our local Messianic congregation, Shalom Peniel, has simply postponed their observance till May, “Lord willing”. The other option may be even better. How can you observe Passover, Unleavened Bread and Firstfruits at home? Let me share some ideas.

First, I suggest you anoint your doorposts with oil and pray for Yehovah’s protection and healing from the virus, through the blood of the Messiah Yeshua.

Second, rebuke fear and stand in faith. Firstfruits points to the resurrection. Since we have eternal life, we do not fear death. And if you eliminate the devil’s main threat of death, why would you fear anything?

Third, why not experiment with your own family Passover? Here is a link to a free download from a Messianic (believers in Yeshua as the Son of Yehovah) congregation in Israel. Yeshua’s Inheritance is a Messianic congregation in Beer Sheva, in southern Israel.

Remember that we worship in Spirit and Truth, not as a religious obligation. You get no points for doing this, it is about our personal relationship with Yehovah God, through His Son, Yeshua ben Yehovah!

Israel Election SHOCK!

Breakthrough! Shock, bombshell, and earthquake are all words that describe the miracle turn of events ending the Israel political deadlock. The leader of the opposition, Benny Gantz, has agreed to join with Netanyahu in an emergency unity government because of the coronavirus. This is good news.

We have prayed for a more than a year against the spirit of Haman and for the rising of an Esther who would courageously declare: “If I perish, I perish.” This is what Gantz has done. His slogan has always been: “Israel, above all else.” By choosing to be a statesman and put country first, he has completely cut off his political future in the left wing. They are already turning on him like vultures, but Netanyahu lives on as Prime Minister. The agreement has Gantz sharing the PM role after Netanyahu serves the first 18 months.

I have always seen Avigdor Lieberman as a Haman. He is now relegated to irrelevance in the opposition. His political coup gambit has failed. In addition Yair Lapid, Gantz’ former partner in the Blue & White party, has been exposed also as a Haman. The road ahead may be rocky, but now Israel can have a fully operating government with PM Netanyahu for the next 18 months. Continue to pray for Yehovah’s blessing on His chosen people.

Therefore I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men, for kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence. 1 Timothy 1:1-2

Notice that we are to pray not only for the leaders, but for all who are in authority. We pray for Netanyahu and for Gantz. We pray for Trump and Pelosi. God can do His work in the heart of anybody that the Holy Spirit chooses. Pray for ALL.

Corona Virus HOPE

False prophecy, gain-sayers, and media hype all have something in common. It is like bloggers who try to generate clicks. There is an ulterior motive. They want followers, viewers, and readers for their own agendas. This is a particular problem with the present virus pandemic/panic. Today I offer a less apoplectic and less apocalyptic opinion. There is hope in the numbers. What if Trump is right and the W.H.O. is wrong?

It just may be that the terrible numbers in Italy and Europe do not apply to the U.S. Our model seems to hold the same promise as South Korea which has leveled off. Italy has ten times the deaths (to date) as we do, yet with only a small difference in positive cases. Consider this report from yesterday, March 23.

Israeli Expert: Trump Right, World Health Organization Wrong on Coronavirus Death Rate – In the final analysis, mortality rates for coronavirus originally cited by President Donald Trump are going to be proven more accurate than the higher numbers claimed by the World Health Organization, according to an Israeli expert in epidemic modeling.

I know we are all tired of the never ending coverage, but we need to favor hope over panic, faith over fear, and life over death. Of course Satan only came “to steal, kill & destroy;” but Jesus brings life. That is not only eternal life, but life now in the midst of the testing and trials of our earthly existence. Turn to God in these times. Don’t give in to the exaggerated predictions based on exponential formulas. Jesus said He would never leave us or forsake us. Trust Him. Trust Yehovah God and His Holy Spirit. Jesus said:

I am the door. If anyone enters by Me, he will be saved, and will go in and out and find pasture. The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly. John 10:9-10

NOW ABOUT THAT HOPE:

For when God made a promise to Abraham, because He could swear by no one greater, He swore by Himself, saying, “Surely blessing I will bless you, and multiplying I will multiply you.” And so, after he had patiently endured, he obtained the promise. For men indeed swear by the greater, and an oath for confirmation is for them an end of all dispute. Thus God, determining to show more abundantly to the heirs of promise the immutability of His counsel, confirmed it by an oath, 18 that by two immutable things, in which it is impossible for God to lie, we might have strong consolation, who have fled for refuge to lay hold of the hope set before us. This hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and steadfast, and which enters the Presence behind the veil, where the forerunner has entered for us, even Jesus, having become High Priest forever according to the order of Melchizedek. Hebrews 10:13-20

Will your anchor hold? Have faith to trust Him. Hold on to His shalom. And pray for the shalom of Jerusalem, along with prayer for rain in Israel. I am praying for a turning point by Passover and Firstfruits.

Invisible Enemy or Test?

President Trump calls this virus pandemic the “invisible enemy.” But is it? Or, is it a test? The virus is indeed invisible, but is there a spiritual component? The familiar message of Ephesians 6:10 NLT declares:

For we are not fighting against flesh-and-blood enemies, but against evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, against mighty powers in this dark world, and against evil spirits in the heavenly places.

That text reminds us of spiritual warfare. Indeed, Satan is certainly out to kill us, and there are specific tactics for our response. If we are attacked by a demonic spirit, we bind and loose in Jesus’ name. Derek Prince used to say: “You can cast out a demon and you can crucify the flesh, but you can’t crucify a demon or cast out the flesh.” So, we first must diagnose the problem.

Is this virus an attack of the devil or is it a test of our flesh from God? Could it be both? How are you responding? If we are rebuking the devil and it doesn’t stop, maybe we should examine our own hearts. This quarantine is the perfect time for having our own little “listening meeting” with the Father. Recently I heard the Lord emphasize Revelation 3:10:

“Because you have obeyed my command to persevere, I will protect you from the great time of testing that will come upon the whole world to test those who belong to this world.”

You may say “My God would never do that.” Well maybe you need to grasp how Yehovah works with His people through even bad circumstances. Here is a verse that may shake your world. It the one before that famous one that we are already hearing for this present virus crises.

At times I might shut up the heavens so that no rain falls, or command grasshoppers to devour your crops, or send plagues among you. Then if my people who are called by my name will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sins and restore their land. 2 Chronicles 7:13-14 NLT

According to this verse, God Himself may send terrible circumstances our way. It is not my place to argue whether or not God is doing it, but to focus on my response. It is not about accusing God of unrighteousness in the sending, it is about my wickedness that must stop. So how should we behave in quarantine? Is it time to seek our Heavenly Father? Humble ourselves, pray, seek His face and repent; then He will hear, forgive, and restore!

Hallelujah! He is faithful. Call on Him first. Pray for the peace of Jerusalem and pray for rain.

Tips on Reading EV Commentary

While you have extra time at home during the virus crises, I thought you might appreciate some info and tips about my blog.

The title is Elisha Vision – Commentary. That is because I am offering my take on current events in Israel and the world from a Biblical perspective. It is clear that God wants His people to be up to date with the world around us, and not bury our heads in the sand. Here is the verse that undergirds this site.

From the tribe of Issachar, there were 200 leaders of the tribe with their relatives. All these men understood the signs of the times and knew the best course for Israel to take. I Chronicles 12:32 NLT

We need to be “sons and daughters of Issachar.” We must not be ignorant of the times. Yehovah God is speaking and moving actively in these perilous times. What should Israel do? What should we do? Jesus expects us to be watching for His return.

Devote yourselves to prayer with an alert mind and a thankful heart. Pray for us, too, that God will give us many opportunities to speak about his mysterious plan concerning Christ. That is why I am here in chains. Pray that I will proclaim this message as clearly as I should. Live wisely among those who are not believers, and make the most of every opportunity. Let your conversation be gracious and attractive so that you will have the right response for everyone. Colossians 4:2-6 NLT

My goal is to “have the right response“ to the issues of the day, for my sake and for your use also, as we apply it in our lives.

My frequent use of Dry Bones cartoons beyond their valuable content is intended as honor to Yaachov Kirschen, the Israeli cartoonist whose work has been seen in the Jerusalem Post as far back as 1973. I encourage financial support for him. Doreen and I help when we can. He has a remarkable understanding of the relationship between Jews and Christians. It is an example of the path we are on that leads to the “one new man” spoken of by the Apostle Paul: “having abolished in His flesh the enmity, that is, the law of commandments contained in ordinances, so as to create in Himself one new man from the two, thus making peace” Ephesians 2:15

Finally, I identify as a “voice of Christian Zionists” because I and we can be used by God to bring others into this new man to bless Israel and help fulfill God’s plan.

Pray for the peace of Jerusalem, and pray that the floodgates will open from the Sea of Galilee to release water into the Jordan River for the first time since 1992.

Walking Through Walls of Fear

Jesus is with us!

Why does the Book of Acts record that the upper room was closed when Jesus entered? You may have heard me talk about this before, but now is the time to share encouragement in the face of fear caused by the virus pandemic. First, consider this great promise:

“Because you have kept My command to persevere, I also will keep you from the hour of trial which shall come upon the whole world, to test those who dwell on the earth. Revelation 3:10

My faith stands secure on Yehovah’s faithful word. There are certain times when God gives special protection to His true people. The first three plagues of the Exodus account fell on both the Egyptians and Israelites. However, starting with the fourth plague of flies, God made a difference between His people and the Egyptians. So Egypt was swarmed but not God’s people, even though Goshen was in the Nile delta, there were no flies!

“And in that day I will set apart the land of Goshen, in which My people dwell, that no swarms of flies shall be there, in order that you may know that I am Yehovah in the midst of the land. I will make a difference between My people and your people. Tomorrow this sign shall be.” Exodus 8:22-23

Don’t forget the glorious promises of Psalm 91, especially these verses:

You shall not be afraid of the terror by night, Nor of the arrow that flies by day, Nor of the pestilence that walks in darkness, Nor of the destruction that lays waste at noonday. Psalm 91:5-6

So the Lord answered me when I asked Him why the doors were shut (twice) when He came to the upper room where the disciples were after the resurrection. (See John 20:19, 26.) He said: “I want you to know that you can walk through walls.” This has been priceless for me when speaking to various groups with all manner of doctrinal walls. I walk right through them and deliver the word God has sent me to deliver. Here’s the good news. This also applies to fear. We need not succumb. We can walk right through walls of fear that are placed in our path by demonic forces. Don’t accept fear.

For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind. 2 Timothy 1:7

So please remember this when you hear all the hype, panic, and fear being dispensed continuously from the media. We can safely put our trust in Yehovah God and His Son, Yeshua ben Yehovah. It is time to stand up for what we believe. Believe your beliefs and doubt your doubts.

Pray for the peace of Jerusalem and pray for the rains to continue in Israel.

Israel Election Update

The good news is a landslide victory for Netanyahu’s right wind/nationalist block. The bad news is that they are three seats short of the 61 necessary to form a government. However, there is real hope that several will flip from the other side because everyone wants to avoid a fourth election.

Israel Election Results are Not as Close as They Appear

Netanyahu: Personal Victory, Political Uncertainty

Netanyahu’s personal victory proved that the people want him to continue as Prime Minister even though he is facing trial in two weeks on trumped up charges pushed by his political opponents. He completely denies any wrong doing and declares he will be vindicated. This is so much like the impeachment hoax against President Trump. It seems obvious to me that it is far beyond politics. It is spiritual war in the heavenlies.

Our prayers are required more than ever for Yehovah God’s will to be seen. He is the defender of the falsely accused. It is the time of Israel’s favor, not curse. America will share in the favor because we are blessing Israel through the Trump Administration. This is not politics as usual, it is spiritual.

As we enter the Purim season once again (sundown March 9), we renew our petitions to our Father God. “Bind the deceitful spirit of Haman in both countries, and expose his evil plots!”

The so-called “priestly blessing” is quite appropriate. God speaks directly to Moses as to how to bless Israel. The last verse explains the specific transaction intended by God. Speaking these specific words have the effect of placing God’s name, Yehovah, on His people as the means of blessing them! It is clear that His purpose was not accomplished with the generic word, “‘Lord,” but His name in itself conveys the blessing, protection, and favor.

And Yehovah spoke to Moses, saying: “Speak to Aaron and his sons, saying, ‘This is the way you shall bless the children of Israel. Say to them: “Yehovah bless you and keep you; Yehovah make His face shine upon you, and be gracious to you; Yehovah lift up His countenance upon you, and give you peace.” ’ “So they shall put My name on the children of Israel, and I will bless them.” Numbers 6:22-27

It is critical to use the actual name of Yehovah, rather than the generic term which could refer to any random god or human. Please check out my explanation below.

Bible Voting + Israel Virus Vaccine!

ISRAEL NEWS FLASH! Before my thoughts on voting, there is great news from Israel. Scientists have been working for four years on a vaccine for coronavirus in chickens that can be adapted for humans, and they are only weeks away. Praise the Lord! Pray for a total breakthrough. Israel continues to be a blessing for the nations.

About Voting: My plan was to prepare a Biblical voting guide for this year, but I found a list already completed that works. Thank you, Linda, for sending it to me. The irony is that it was already attacked online before I used it. That’s good, because now I can refute the accusation that “the Bible verses were cherry-picked to confirm my own bias.”

About Bias: It is accepted truth that everyone is biased. The key is to know the bias of your source. My bias is not Republican or Democrat, but the Bible. I don’t start with my party and then “cherry-pick” verses. My Bible knowledge informs my choices. Therefore the above positions flow from the Bible and not vice versa. I could add a number of other issues, and I will this summer when the party platforms are released. For instance, “national borders” was God’s idea (Acts 17:26), not globalism.

What I asks is that you pray about your choices, but especially that you be sure to vote! There were 20 million evangelical Christians who did not vote last time! Imagine the results if we all voted this time. Please pray and vote!

Therefore I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men, for kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence. For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, 1 Timothy 2:1-3

Cool Israeli Election Ad

This is he best Netanyahu Israeli election campaign ad yet! Only eight days until the third election in a year demands this change of pace ad. In Israel he is widely known by his nickname, Bibi, which is used in this video. Humor, positivity and truth always works best (with a nod to the Beatles). I am praying for a miraculous victory for a strong conservative and godly government for Israel.

Seriously, we need to pray for Israeli election coming just next week (Monday March 2). I favor Prime Minister Benjamin (Bibi) Netanyahu, but my prayer is for Yehovah God’s choice.

Daniel answered and said: “Blessed be the name of God forever and ever, for wisdom and might are His. And He changes the times and the seasons; He removes kings and raises up kings; He gives wisdom to the wise and knowledge to those who have understanding. Daniel 2:20-21

Israel’s Desert Forests

One reason I pray for rain in Israel is because of a promise that applies to Israel’s desert. The Bible says the desert will blossom like a rose.

For Yehovah will comfort Zion,
He will comfort all her waste places;
He will make her wilderness like Eden,
And her desert like the garden of Yehovah;
Joy and gladness will be found in it,
Thanksgiving and the voice of melody. Isaiah 51:3

Israel’s Negev Desert is the only desert in the world that is shrinking. That is mostly because of Israel’s system of drip irrigation, as they take over more and more of the desert. However, the promise of God is that the desert itself will blossom.

What you may not know, is that the Negev Desert is full of all kinds of seeds. Did you know that it used to be a forest? In the Judgment of Israel spoken of in Ezekiel 20, God refers to the forests of the Negev.

“Son of man, set your face toward the south; preach against the south and prophesy against the forest land, the South,” Ezekiel 20:46

The Hebrew word translated South in English is Negev. That is exactly the area that is now desert, but used to be forests! All God needs to do is add water!

Pray For Rain, and pray for the Peace of Jerusalem.

Israel’s Future is Now

Land promise

Much remains of the promises to Israel, but much is now happening. Some Christians have been tainted by replacement theology, that the church has replaced Israel in God’s plan. That is a grave error. The future promises to Israel are seen in the present. Just consider this one passage (of many):

“Therefore thus says the Lord Yehovah: ‘Now I will bring back the captives of Jacob, and have mercy on the whole house of Israel; and I will be jealous for My holy name— after they have borne their shame, and all their unfaithfulness in which they were unfaithful to Me, when they dwelt safely in their own land and no one made them afraid. When I have brought them back from the peoples and gathered them out of their enemies’ lands, and I am hallowed in them in the sight of many nations, then they shall know that I am Yehovah their God, who sent them into captivity among the nations, but also brought them back to their land, and left none of them captive any longer. And I will not hide My face from them anymore; for I shall have poured out My Spirit on the house of Israel,’ says the Lord Yehovah.” Ezekiel 39:25-29

Look at what God will do for them AFTER He brings them back from among the nations. Notice that Yehovah uses both terms, Jacob and Israel. He clearly did not mean the church. We may call ourselves “spiritual Israel,” but not “spiritual Jacob.” He clearly means physical Israel that was scattered to the nations.

They will hallow Him, see Him as Holy, once again.
They will know Him as Yehovah.
They will realize He is the one who sent them into captivity.
They will also know that He is the one who brought them back.
He will leave none of them captive.
He will not hide His face from them anymore.
He will pour out His Spirit on them.

Hallelujah to the faithful God who keeps His covenants even to a thousand generations!

Pray for the peace of Jerusalem and thank Him for continuing snow and rain.

The Mule on the Go!

Michael MKM Today is a little something different. I am working on writing a biography of my dear friend, Michael Masambu of Kenya. After the great Kenya youth conference headed by him in December, he was physically exhausted. I was honored to speak there to 4,800 youth and was likewise spent. So, today I’m sharing his Facebook comment, posted shortly after the meetings.

Owing to my background – my difficult childhood, I am this person that thinks I must work for the next meal. I worked for the next meal at a very tender age. I worked for the next meal under harsh conditions. I worked for my notebook, for my pensil and for my pen 🖋. I could only move to the next level if I worked. I ate because I had worked. I bought a shirt because I worked for it. My parents didn’t provide much because dad was too old and mom was too poor and over burdened. I worked to pay for my High School and College. I worked as a carpenter. I made beds, I made chairs, I made all manner of furniture. I overworked! I hurt my chest.

I am a pathfinder. I am a ground breaker. This is what life has given me. Today I realize things changed the day He became my Dad. He doesn’t grow old. He is the same Yesterday today and forever. He budgets for His kids. I am His Kid. If His Kid, then all my needs are made! What I have today came from him. What I need tomorrow will come from Him. It is my duty to be found by Him. He is Elshadai! He is Yehovah Yireh! Learn to trust him. Being a mule on the go always is denying that He cares.Yet He truly cares! Rest. Wait upon him. Those who wait upon the Lord shall be Strengthened. Hallelujah. Free at last! Free at last! MKM

I thank God for Michael and his dear wife, Sarah. Let’s pray for them as they continue in the Father’s vineyard.

But those who wait on Yehovah shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint. Isaiah 40:31

Palestinian Confusion

The Trump peace deal has exposed deep differences among Palestinian Arabs in Israel. My last post exposed the lie about “Palestinians.” The above cartoon from my friend Yaakov Kirschen points out the dilemma facing Arab Palestinians in the West Bank. The Bible calls this area Judea and Samaria. Here is more from a recent article.

The Real Reason Arabs In Israel Do Not Want to Live In ‘Palestine’ – The main reason Arabs in Israel are afraid of becoming Palestinian citizens is because they know that the Palestinian state will be anything but democratic. Many Arab citizens of Israel see how Palestinians living under the Palestinian Authority (PA) in the West Bank and Hamas in the Gaza Strip are subject to human rights violations on a daily basis. In Israel, Arab citizens participate in the general elections and have their own representatives in the Knesset. In the West Bank and the Gaza Strip, Palestinians have been deprived of free and fair elections since January 2006.

President Abbas of the Palestinian Authority is now in the 16th year of his four year term. I’m not kidding. He is 84, in failing health, and has named no successor. He has said he will die before giving up any part of “Palestine” which he says is “from the river to the sea.” This is the chant heard on college campuses around the world. Don’t hold your breath waiting for him to make peace with Israel.

We need to pray for the helpless Palestinian people. They need the Messiah Yeshua as much as the rest of us. God is blessing Israel and will increase favor. The best hope for Palestinians is to be granted Israeli citizenship and to worship Yehovah, God of Israel.

“Thus you shall divide this land among yourselves according to the tribes of Israel. It shall be that you will divide it by lot as an inheritance for yourselves, and for the strangers who dwell among you and who bear children among you. They shall be to you as native-born among the children of Israel; they shall have an inheritance with you among the tribes of Israel. And it shall be that in whatever tribe the stranger dwells, there you shall give him his inheritance,” says the Lord Yehovah. Ezekiel 47:21-23

Pray for the peace of Jerusalem and pray for seasonal rains.

Palestinian History Lesson

This cartoon is totally true. Palestine was a generic term for the land area of Israel imposed by the Romans in the first Century. There has never been an actual country called Palestine at any time in history. The Jerusalem Post newspaper was originally the Palestine Post until Israel became a nation. The Palestine Liberation Org (PLO) under Yasser Arafat co-opted the term in 1964. Before that, residents of Israel were Jews and Arabs. By creating a new group he claimed victimhood for his followers. Even today there are nearly two million Arab citizens of Israel, most of whom are happy to be “Israelis.” They are better off than most Arabs in any Muslim country.

The Arab/Palestinian people would like to make peace with Israel. It is their radical jihadist leaders that prevent every peace plan. When we pray for the peace of Jerusalem we are praying for Arabs and Jews alike. Every human being who receives the Messiah Yeshua as the Son of God and Savior is welcomed into the family of God. We continue to pray for the future merger of the “one new man” where we all become one in Him.

For you are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus. For as many of you as were baptized into Christ have put on Christ. There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is neither male nor female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus. And if you are Christ’s, then you are Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise. Galations 3:26-29

For as many of you as were immersed into Messiah have put on Messiah. There is neither Yehudi nor Yevanit, there is neither slave nor free man, there is neither male nor female; for you are all one in Messiah Yeshua. If you are Messiah’s, then you are Avraham’s seed and heirs according to promise.Galations 3:26-29 HNV

Finally, the distinctions listed still exist in this world, but the message is that we all have

equal access to relationship with God through His Son, the Messiah Yeshua.
