Israel Election Crunch Time

16 03 2015

Israel election 2015Today is a mega prayer day for Israel. Tomorrow, Israel chooses its next government. The choice has never been clearer. Netanyahu’s conservative camp will hold onto the land. The liberal camp of Herzog will divide Israel to establish a Palestinian Muslim state which will immediately be overtaken by terrorists. If you are a watchman on the wall; or if you just like the view from the top of the wall, Pray! Pray today! Pray NOW!

I don’t mean hope. I mean pray that the God of Israel will act to defend her. Pray with the prophetic confidence of agreement with His covenant. Here is the scriptural foundation for our prayer of faith.

And He changes the times and the seasons; He removes kings and raises up kings; He gives wisdom to the wise and knowledge to those who have understanding. Daniel 2:21 NKJV

This means God will choose whom He wants to lead Israel. I am praying that the Holy Spirit will touch the hearts of the Israeli voters and move them toward His choice.

My faith is not in the people, but the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob!

Indeed, he who watches over Israel never slumbers or sleeps. Psalm 121:4 NLT

After the Dust-Up Settles

4 03 2015

Bibi at Congress 2015Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s speech was a grand-slam home run yesterday at the Joint Session of the US Congress. Many observers compared it to Winston Churchill. They are right in the sense of the historic timing of this warning of world-wide catastrophe if Iran gets the bomb.

There are moments in life when a leader acts not to win votes — but for the sake of the children. There are moments when a leader is not measured against an American president or media pundits. These are moments where only history can be the judge. Boaz Bismuth in Israel Hayom

The similarities between now and 1939 are clear and portend earth-shaking implications to follow any failure to face the facts. The soberness of the speech properly underscored the choices. We face far more than a trivial breach of protocol, we are looking right down the payload of intercontinental ballistic missiles headed our way. It is not only Israel being threatened and the rest of the Sunni Middle East. The entire Western world is in Iran’s sights and goals. Remember the Iranian mantra that Israel is the little Satan and America is the big Satan.

My only comment about the “dust-up” manufactured by the White House is that it was not worthy of the Office of the President of the United States. It was shameful and embarrassing.

So we pray. We pray hard. We pray often. We pray for the real peace of Jerusalem. We stand for Israel, confident that there is One Who watches over Israel, Who neither slumbers nor sleeps. Yehovah, God of Israel is the ultimate watchman on the wall.

Thank you Prime Minister Netanyahu for giving voice to the truth from God’s voice to our ears.

The coming of the lawless one is according to the working of Satan, with all power, signs, and lying wonders, and with all unrighteous deception among those who perish, because they did not receive the love of the truth, that they might be saved. And for this reason God will send them strong delusion, that they should believe the lie, that they all may be condemned who did not believe the truth but had pleasure in unrighteousness. 2 Thessalonians 2:9-12

Netanyahu Addresses Congress

27 02 2015

Netanyahu img564931We are fast approaching an existential deadline for Israel regarding Iran’s nuclear program. Next Tuesday the Prime Minister of Israel speaks to a joint session of Congress. Incredibly, some Democrats and Vice President Biden are boycotting the speech for petty partisan politics. George Will on Obama and Bibi: “We have a community organizer dealing with a commando; they’re not on the same wavelength”

There is time to take action. Please contact you Senators and Representatives. Appeal to them to consider seriously the case made by Netanyahu. Israel’s very existence is at stake. Ignore the political hype and divisive threats from the White House. Act now! This is a critical time for the U.S. as well as Israel.

Please read the following appeal from a Floridian and then watch the short video of Senator Rubio clearly declaring the issue.

Dear Friends,

Set aside 20 minutes to watch Senator Rubio on the floor of the Senate, pleading with his peers on behalf of Israel. The link is below. Whatever your political persuasion, please, please take the time to contact the senators and representatives for your areas and request they not boycott Bibi Netanyahu’s speech which is to be March 3rd before both houses of congress. There is still some time to do this. Maybe I feel the urgency because I see the faces of the Holocaust survivors all around me where I live and recall how the world stood by while millions perished or were tortured. The synagogue near where I live has it’s own holocaust memorial for the many holocaust survivors who attended there. I think of the growing anti-Semitism in the world and hear Bib’s words to my Jewish people who are still being persecuted to come home to their land. They are welcome there. This is no small thing and I am thankful for the passion of people like Senator Rubio who is not Jewish but understands the seriousness of what is happening. Again, please take the time to make your voice heard in this matter.  It is interesting that Netanyahu’s address to Congress will be given the day before Purim starts, which celebrates the failure of an attempt to wipe out the Jews of Persia (modern day Iran) in 721 BC. Some things never change.
Please forward if you can so others may join in this effort and never forget the power of prayer.
If you need a little more background on the issue please read these articles:
Pray for truth to triumph next Tuesday at Congress!

Israel Election for New Government on March 17, 2015

2 12 2014

img550204Flash News Update!

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu fired part of his ruling coalition today. This will lead to new elections on March 17. At this early moment it appears that the conservatives will benefit most as the leftist parties look to lose Knesset seats. Netanyahu has had strong resistance to his platform from the left leaning members of his own coalition. Livni and Lapid were fired for undermining the Prime Minister from within.

Here are a few links to this fast breaking story, followed by my observations.

Elections Likely

Bibi Accuses Lapid, Livni of Leading a ‘Putsch’; Calls Elections

Netanyahu Fails to Save Coalition, Early Elections Expected Opposition parties have already submitted a motion for the dissolution of the Knesset, and party officials say Netanyahu’s Likud faction will support them, thereby accelerating the process of early elections, which would presumably be held by mid-March (17th) of next year.

Current polls suggest that Netanyahu and his Likud will handily win the election, and that the right-wing overall will benefit, while leading centrist and left-wing parties will almost all lose mandates.

While the prospects for Bibi Netanyahu continuing as Prime Minister look good, it is not without possible pitfalls. Put simply, Bibi represents Biblical Zionism and the leftists represent the humanist compromise for peace at any cost. They will keep trading land for peace until Israel would be destroyed “piece by peace.” In the end it will be the promise of Yehovah God that will determine the future for Israel.

“For as the rain comes down, and the snow from heaven, and do not return there, but water the earth, and make it bring forth and bud… so shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth. It shall not return to Me void, but it shall accomplish what I please, and it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it.” Isaiah 55: 10-11

“Yehovah has a day of vengeance, a year of retribution, to uphold Zion’s cause.” Isaiah 34:8

Pray for the peace of Jerusalem, and begin now praying for the new elections.

Concern for America

15 08 2014

2012_05_Holy_Spirit_Reveals_TruthToday’s post is simple. I am concerned for America. A story broke this week that raises a major question on the direction of this present Administration.

Report: The White House Imposed Strict New Arms Controls on Israel in Midst of Gaza Fighting

In the middle of Israel’s latest war with Hamas the White House instructed the Pentagon to halt weapons transfers to the IDF without first obtaining express permission for each transaction from “policy makers” in the administration, The Wall Street Journal reported Thursday.

The shift in policy came after the White House learned the Israelis were restocking their weapons supplies through a previously established military-to-military relationship and were on the verge of receiving an order of various munitions including tank shells, and a “large number” of Hellfire missiles which were already located in a U.S. military stockpile in Israel.

The White House demanded the Pentagon cease such arms shipments to the IDF and begin seeking permission for each individual shipment in the future, according to the Wall Street Journal. The Blaze.com

This was illustrated, sadly, by a “combative” phone call on Friday between President Obama and Prime Minister Netanyahu. This has been happening all too often for many months in calls, meetings and other communications.

Brothers and sisters, many dangerous decisions have been documented lately. But the continued growing separation between the White House and Israel threatens our own security and the blessing of God on America. We studied Romans chapter nine in our home group last night. There is a concept in verses seventeen eighteen that is sobering to consider.

For the Scripture says to the Pharaoh, “For this very purpose I have raised you up, that I may show My power in you, and that My name may be declared in all the earth.”  Therefore He has mercy on whom He wills, and whom He wills He hardens. Romans 9:17-18

The scary part is the example of Pharaoh. At first, when Moses came, Pharaoh hardened his own heart as he refused God’s message. However, after several stages and plagues, he became so hard in his rebellion that God hardened him! Therefore, I am concerned for America because I see our President hardening his heart toward God’s purpose for Israel. I do not pray for God’s hardening. I pray for a total turn around towards Israel before it is too late.

Here is a link to send a message to President Obama provided by Christians United For Israel.

Pray for the peace of Jerusalem, and pray for our beloved United States of America

What is the Goal of Hamas?

4 08 2014

Great-Quotes-056genocide  (jĕnˈə-sīdˌ) noun

The systematic and planned extermination of an entire national, racial, political, or ethnic group. (definition)

Here is a quote from the Preamble to the Hamas Charter: ″Israel will exist and will continue to exist until Islam will obliterate it, just as it obliterated others before it″.

No further comment is necessary. But please let me suggest a different way to view the “death toll” statistics that keep rolling across our TV screens. Roughly 70 Israelis and 1700 Gazans were killed in the last four weeks. The emphasis was on civilian deaths. Israel was charged with genocide by many accusers.

However, what if you measured these statistics by actual intent?

Note the definition of genocide: “planned extermination.”

Israel’s goal was to kill zero civilians. Hamas’ goal was to kill as many civilians as possible, including their own (by human shield strategy and by errant rockets of their own).

Hamas Sermon from the Gaza Strip: Our Doctrine Entails Exterminating the Jews

Using a relatively modest desire to kill 10 civilians per rocket @ 3,000 fired in four weeks, Hamas hope to kill 30,000 Israeli civilians. Does the fact that they were bad at it, or that Israel had great defense change their intent?

Israel’s goal was zero civilians killed. Do you think for one minute that if Israel wanted to kill all Gazans that they could not do it in four weeks? Mercifully, it appears that this round of war is ending. We thank God for that. But the motive of Hamas has not changed. They would kill all Jews if they could. That, my friends, is genocide.

“Because you have had an ancient hatred, and have shed the blood of the children of Israel by the power of the sword at the time of their calamity, when their iniquity came to an end, therefore, as I live,” says the Lord Yehovah, “I will prepare you for blood, and blood shall pursue you; since you have not hated blood, therefore blood shall pursue you.” Ezekiel 35:5-6

Golda Meir (fourth Prime Minister of Israel): “Peace will come when the Arabs will love their children more than they hate us.”

Benjamin Netanyahu (current Prime Minister of Israel): “The truth is that if Israel were to put down its arms there would be no more Israel. If the Arabs were to put down their arms there would be no more war.”

I would like to call today’s post, “News you can use!”

Yes! and No! No! No!

PA President Mahmoud Abbas waves to supporters following his trip to Washington, DC, on Thursday, March 20, 2014, in the West Bank city of Ramallah (AFP/Abbas Nomani)

There are two sides of the coin in Israel. One side is Yes! Israel’s restoration continues by the Hand of God, as seen in Netanyahu’s report of the past year. The No! side of the coin is Palestinian President Abbas’ recent meeting with President Obama.

The YES! Factor: Last Tuesday marked the end of the first year of the formation of Israel’s 33rd Knesset Government. “Today, we are marking exactly one year since the government was formed,” remarked Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu on Tuesday. “We have built up Israel’s security in the face of regional turmoil, and the Israeli economy has continued to grow more than the economies of the world which are still dealing with an economic crisis.”

Speaking about the security situation in Israel’s south, which was peppered by over 100 rockets from terrorists in Gaza last week, Netanyahu noted that in 2013, “in the wake of Operation Pillar of Defense, quiet – of a kind unknown in a decade – has prevailed” in the south.

Netanyahu added “there will be no trickle of rockets. My policy is clear: Any firing of rockets will be met with an immediate and sharp response.”

Among the achievements highlighted in the video is the investment of 12.8 billion shekels ($3.7 billion) in national transportation infrastructures, the sealing of Israel’s Sinai border to totally block illegal infiltration, a 3.3% GDP growth which ranks among the highest in the world, and one of the lowest unemployment rates in the world at 6.2%.

Indeed, a recent comprehensive research study measuring various factors ranked Israel the tenth most powerful nation in the world.

Silicon Valley and Silicon Wadi: Two weeks ago, Netanyahu signed a cooperation agreement with the state of California. At the signing he called for a direct airline route connecting San Francisco and Tel Aviv to link “silicon valley and silicon wadi (valley),” which he praised as “the most powerful hubs of innovation on the planet.” Arutz Sheva

The NO! NO! NO! Factor: In the meantime, PA President Abbas met with President Obama and flatly stated three absolutes.

TV report: Abbas said ‘no’ to Obama on 3 core peace issues: Rejecting Kerry framework, Palestinian leader reportedly told US president he won’t recognize ‘Jewish Israel,’ abandon ‘right of return,’ or commit to ‘end of conflict’.

On his trip to Washington this week, Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas rejected US Secretary of State John Kerry’s framework document for continued peace talks with Israel, and issued “three no’s” on core issues, leaving the negotiations heading for an explosive collapse, an Israeli TV report said Friday.

Specifically, the report said, Abbas rejected Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s demand that he recognize Israel as a Jewish state. He also refused to abandon the Palestinian demand for a “right of return” for millions of Palestinians and their descendants — a demand that, if implemented, would drastically alter Israel’s demographic balance and which no conceivable Israeli government would accept. And finally, he refused to commit to an “end of conflict,” under which a peace deal would represent the termination of any further Palestinian demands of Israel.

Since Abbas rejected the Kerry framework for extending the talks, the TV report said, the negotiations were now heading for an “explosion.” Arutz Sheva

March 25 Update: New Anti-Semitism Tailored for Evangelicals

The Final Factor: Let them shout for joy and be glad, who favor my righteous cause; and let them say continually, “Let Yehovah be magnified, Who has pleasure in the prosperity of His servant.” Psalm 35:27

Israel News Update

Barry Segal JNN JNN News Update January 20th 2014

(The following quoted news updates are from Barry Segal, a Jerusalem friend who has a dynamic service to the needy along with his newsletters. Subscribe below.)

NETANYAHU: A JEW-FREE PALESTINIAN STATE WOULD BE ETHNIC CLEANSING: A “Jew-free” Palestinian state, now being contemplated in peace talks, would be tantamount to ethnic cleansing, Israeli PM Netanyahu told Canada’s CTV. While Arabs in Israel have full civic rights, “in the Palestinian state, the way it’s being contemplated, no Jew can live there, it has to be Jew-free, ethnic cleansing. Well, what is that? There are Arabs who live here, but they can’t contemplate Jews living there. It’s absurd that we’re willing to recognize, that I’m willing to recognize the Palestinians, but in exchange, they’re not willing to recognize the Jewish state, the nation state of the Jewish people. There’s something wrong there.” (Algemeiner)

UK PARLIAMENT LAUNCHES INQUIRY INTO FUNDING FOR UNRWA, PALESTINIANS: The British parliament has formed a committee of inquiry to probe the flow of funds used by the international refugee agency UNRWA to support the Palestinians. According to the report, disclosed Saturday, the British government contributes 90 million pounds annually in aid to the Palestinians. A third of that sum is earmarked for UNRWA – the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestinian refugees. The parliamentary committee, with the encouragement of former Israeli Labor MK Einat Wilf, is due to submit its recommendations soon. “UNRWA is perpetuating the notion that descendants of refugees are themselves refugees, and it is based on this principle that the Palestinians are demanding the right of return, something that will not happen in any future agreement,” Wilf said. “The main point is that UNRWA is entirely supported by Western countries whose official policy is to aim for a two-state solution,” Wilf continued. “This is completely in contradiction to the idea of a right of return for 5 million refugees and their descendants to Israel.” (J.Post)

WHOSE TAXPAYERS FUND UNRWA?: With a total of $644,701,999 in contributions, the US, EU, UK, Sweden, Norway, Germany, The Netherlands and Japan pay 71% of the annual UNRWA budget. The United Nations Relief and Work Agency is the only UN refugee agency dedicated to a single group of people. It is the only agency that designates individuals as original refugees if they lived in the area for a minimum of two years, that acknowledges the descendants of original refugees as refugees as well, and the only one that actively encourages its clients to act on their “right of return.”  The total UNRWA budget for 2012 was $907,907,371. The permanent and hysterically supportive rhetoric for the “Palestinian cause” from the Muslim world might lead one to expect that UNWRA is mainly funded by Muslim countries. The truth, however, is that UNRWA is almost entirely funded by Western taxpayers. With a total of $644,701,999 in contributions, the US, EU, UK, Sweden, Norway, Germany, The Netherlands and Japan pay 71% of the annual UNRWAbudget. So where do the Muslim states rank? First in, at No. 15, is Saudi Arabia. The country with palaces for every prince and gold-plated Boeing 747s on the royal runways chipped in $12,030,540, less than half the contribution of a tiny country like The Netherlands. Second, at No.18, is Turkey. Qatar, which spent millions on obtaining the 2022 soccer World cup, contributed exactly $0 to their Palestinian brothers. These figures reflect the nature of the role Muslim countries play in the Palestinian-Israeli conflict. In their rhetoric they are permanently hostile toward Israel and very sympathetic to the Palestinians. Yet, Muslim states do not deliver when it comes to the material needs of the Palestinians. One more fact: The personal wealth of Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas is estimated at $100 million. Global Research in International Affairs (GLORIA) reported UNRWA actually helps promotes terrorism and holds Palestinians back from rebuilding their lives. It charged UNRWA schools with becoming hotbeds of anti-Western, anti-American, and antisemitic indoctrination and recruiting offices for terrorist groups. It said also UNWRA facilities are used to store and transport weapons, actually serving as terrorist military bases. When the current conflict is the only reason for the annual welfare check that pays PA leaders, there isn’t much incentive for ending the conflict, either. (J.Post) Pray the truth about the taxpayers funds from Western nations being used to support and further terrorism as well as padding the pockets of PA leaders will come to light. Pray UNRWA will be dismantled and any legitimate needs and responsibilities will be transferred to individuals and committees that can be trusted to carry them out.

CANADIAN MP COTLER CALLS TO DISMANTLE UNRWA: The United Nations Relief and Works Agency should be disbanded, MP and former Canadian justice minister Irwin Cotler demanded last week. “Jurisdiction over the Palestinian refugees should be transferred from UNWRA, which, frankly, continues to engage patterns of incitement against Israel and in misrepresentation of the truth,” Cotler said. He added that the “Arab League should incorporate the question of Jewish refugees as part of its framework for an Israeli- Arab peace in the same way that the Jewish narrative incorporates the Palestinian refugees,” and that the government of Israel insist that in “any and all discussions between the negotiating parties, any reference to Palestinian refugees must also include express reference to Jewish refugees.” It is “high time that the forced exodus of Jews from Arab lands be introduced to the international agenda after the unconscionable neglect of the issue for six decades,” he declared. Cotler called for the end of UNRWA and for recognition and redress for the 850,000 Jewish refugees of the Israeli-Arab conflict. Netanyahu and Rouhani

25 09 2013

Rouhani wolf cartoonBeware the Bazaar! In my last post I outlined the present activity in the United Nations. Pray for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s UN speech October 1. Here is a fresh report today from our good friend Barry Segal at Jerusalem News Network.

YA’ALON: ROUHANI WILL CHEAT AND LIE TO THE UN: Defense Minister Moshe Ya’alon said this week that “The Iranian regime is the main cause of instability in the Middle East. It’s involved in every conflict through funding, training and arming the participants.” Addressing a conference of international parliamentarians, Ya’alon added that Iran is dangerous to the Middle East. “Iranian President Hassan Rouhani will cheat and lie at the UN General Assembly, and therefore we say that there must be a credible military option to stop its nuclear program,” warned Ya’alon. Iran’s new government took its diplomatic charm offensive to the UN on Monday. (Arutz-7)

NETANYAHU TO COMPARE IRAN AND NORTH KOREAN NUCLEAR ‘PLOYS’ IN UN SPEECH: PM Netanyahu will use his speech at the September UN General Assembly to compare Iran’s current diplomatic efforts on its nuclear program to North Korea’s diplomatic maneuvering prior to its testing of an atomic bomb. The sentiment of the speech echoes suspicion towards Iran’s intentions, expressed by Netanyahu last week.  He warned, then, that Iranian President Rouhani’s pledge that Iran would never develop a nuclear weapon amounted to “fraudulent words” that should fool no one. Netanyahu plans to review the history of North Korea’s negotiations, emphasizing a period of diplomacy when the North Koreans agreed to cease their nuclear weapons program in exchange for economic and other incentives – an agreement that was shortly followed by North Korea’s testing of a nuclear weapon. Last week, Netanyahu said any deal with Iran “requires” an end to enrichment and the removal of all enriched uranium. (JTA) Pray Israel will be well represented at the UN meetings – and that PM Netanyahu’s warnings regarding Rouhani and Iran will be heeded.

Pray for the peace of Jerusalem and for an abundant rainy season.

Also, please pray for me as I travel to minister in Idaho this weekend and attend the Ed Silvoso Harvest Evangelism Conference in Hawaii next week.

Every time your clock reads 11:11 you should declared God’s blessings over your city.

By the blessing of the upright the city is exalted, But it is overthrown by the mouth of the wicked. Proverbs 11:11

The “New Pharaoh” Principle

Now there arose a new king over Egypt, who did not know Joseph. Exodus 1:8

During Israel’s 400 years in Egypt they transitioned from great favor under Joseph as Pharaoh’s second in command. Eventually their expanding population threatened a new Pharaoh and he made them slaves. This is a prophetic picture of modern Israel’s circumstances. I call it the “New Pharaoh” principle.

Prime Minister Netanyahu quoted this text on New Year’s Day during his weekly Bible study. It came up in the regular Torah portion Bible reading for Jews everywhere. I was impressed with his insight into the prophetic application. He saw the threat from Egypt’s Morsi who replaced Mubarak; and he applied it also to the Hamas threat over the West Bank.

In this week’s Torah portion it is written, “Now there arose a new king over Egypt who knew not Joseph.” That’s also happening today,” he said from his Jerusalem residence, referring to the Islamist president, Mohammed Morsi, who replaced Hosni Mubarak as Egypt’s leader last year. Everyone knows that Hamas could take over the Palestinian Authority. Benjamin Netanyahu 1-1-13

It is so wonderful to hear a head of state not merely use Scripture for image, but as the support for his political position. Hamas really is a threat to take over the Palestinian “state” in the West Bank. The Prime Minister continued:

As opposed to the voices that I have heard recently urging me to run forward, make concessions, withdraw [from the West Bank], I think that the diplomatic process must be managed responsibly and sagaciously and not in undue haste. Otherwise a third base for Iranian terrorism will arise here, in the heart of the country. Peace can be achieved only when security is assured. (ibid)

This principle has applied several times already in the so-called peace process. When Israel withdrew from Lebanon, Hezbollah took over control. When Israel withdrew from Gaza, the Palestinian Authority was soon overthrown by Hamas. The same scenario has now played out in Egypt. and is certain to result in Syria and even Jordan before we are through.

Application of Israeli SovereigntyTherefore, Netanyahu is wise to consider possible future changes when “negotiating” with Abbas. The corrupt PA will be replaced by Hamas in a short time. There is a growing move in Israel to simply annex Judea and Samaria (the West Bank). A Jerusalem conference is considering this concept this week.

Please keep the “New Pharaoh” principle in mind as you pray for Israel and real peace for Jerusalem.

40,000 Deaths Don’t Count?

19 11 2012

One cartoon is worth 1,000 lies

According to Wikipedia, between 40,000 and 52,000 Syrians have died in the 20 months of their bloody civil war. Yet, the news is blasting 24/7 about the 100 killed in Gaza. Why are there so many more stories about Gaza? It’s simple. It fits the narrative of bashing Israel. Since Israel is not involved in the Syrian civil war, those deaths don’t have the same propaganda value. Jeffrey Goldberg wrote in the Atlantic: The media is biased against Israel. Yes, got it. Yes, Israel is being judged harshly. Yes, I know that probably 300 people have been murdered in Syria since this Gaza affair started, and no one cares. An acquaintance of mine, a Syrian living in Beirut, wrote me in frustration about this last night. “We get very little interest from the international press compared to the Palestinians. What should we do to get more attention?” My advice is to get killed by Jews. Always works.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu made a compelling case in his recent video statement: “Hamas is guilty of double war crimes. They intentionally target Israeli civilians and they hide their rockets behind Palestinian civilians.”

The initial Gaza coverage was balanced, but is now turning against Israel. Look at this quote from China: China condemns Israel’s ‘over-use of force causing deaths and injuries amongst innocent ordinary people’. What are they thinking? Over 1500 rockets have been launched at Israeli civilians this year, over 1,000 this week. What exactly is “over-use of force” in the minds of Communist Chinese? I wonder how they would react to 1,500 incoming rockets? And why are Palestinians in Gaza (70% of whom voted Hamas into power) considered “innocent ordinary people”, when Hamas intentionally targets Israeli civilians?

Israel drops leaflets, calls cellphones and sends text messages to warn Gaza civilians to stay away from Hamas facilities and launch sites. Repeat after me: Israel defends itself by attacking terrorists, resulting in occasional civilian casualties, but Hamas intentionally targets Israeli civilians! Why is this so hard for media to grasp?

Consider the following quote from Avner Bosky (available in Nov 19 newsletter here)

It is difficult for many Westerners to understand the depths of religious hatred and motivation found throughout the Islamic and Arab world. These are directed sometimes at the West, sometimes at Russia, but always at Israel. The foundations of these attitudes are Koranic, and are amplified in the Islamic hadith (a kind of Oral Law compilation, considered authoritative by all Muslims). According to these perspectives, the Jewish people have no right to any part of the land of Israel, and it is the duty and obligation of all Muslims to wage jihad against the Jews and all who stand with them. It is not a war about borders, or about refugees, or about Western influence. It is a war of Islamist annihilation targeting Jews both in Israel and around the world.

  • Sheikh Hussein Massawi, former head of Hezbollah, declared regarding Israel, “We are not fighting so that you will offer us something. We are fighting to eliminate you.”
  • Sheikh Ahmed Yassin, co-founder and former head of Hamas, announced, “Make no mistake. There will be no peace as long as there is a Zionist-Jewish state. Our holy goal is to liberate all of Palestine, and if the Jews do not go, they will die. All of Palestine is Islamic land – every inch.”
  • Articles 6 of Hamas 1988 constitution declares that “Israel will rise and will remain erect until Islam eliminates it … The Islamic Resistance Movement…strives to raise the banner of All-h over every inch of Palestine.”
  • Article 8 is the official slogan of Hamas, and it is not ashamed to announce that  All-h is our goal, the Prophet our model, the Qur’an our Constitution, Jihad our path and death for the cause of All-h our most sublime belief.”  This last point (Article 8) is also the slogan of Egypt’s Muslim Brotherhood.

(My custom to use the name of the God of Israel, Yehovah has been explained in my previous blog. The reason I do not spell out the name of the pagan god of Islam is taken from five Scriptures. The first is:
And in all that I have said to you, be circumspect and make no mention of the name of other gods, nor let it be heard from your mouth. Exodus 23:13)

Israel Shocker

7 05 2012

Late tonight (early Tuesday Israel time)PM Benjamin Netanyahu reversed course and canceled the just announced plan for early elections. Totally surprising everybody, he made a deal with Kadima, the opposition party to form a new coalition. The prime benefit of the arrangement is that Israel is now unified to deal with Iran.

Kadima, in party elections, had dumped Tzipi Livni, the outspoken liberal critic of the Prime Minister. It is now a whole new ball game in Israel. One benefit is that Israel will now be stronger resisting the leftist pressure coming from the US President Obama and his Administration.

Shortly after 2:30 a.m., Netanyahu and Mofaz arrived at the Knesset to brief their parties of the details of their agreement. Kadima joined the government in exchange for Mofaz’s appointment as a deputy prime minister, a minister without portfolio, and a cabinet member.

Additionally, the government will propose a replacement for the Tal Law on national service for the ultra-Orthodox, which is set to expire in August. There will be legislation on electoral reform, and the budget will be passed smoothly, the two agreed. Mofaz said that in the coming year Kadima will receive additional ministerial positions. Both parties have agreed that the 18th Knesset will complete its term and elections will be held on schedule in late 2013. (The Times of Israel)

Kadima, that unreliable, hard-to-define centrist faction looked to be disintegrating. The Netanyahu-Mofaz deal changes all that. And the anger on the left is only part of the reason for the pleasure Netanyahu must be feeling at what he and his supporters will doubtless depict as a political masterstroke. (David Horovitz)

These radical developments certainly call for passionate prayer for supporters of Biblical prophecy unfolding before our eyes in Israel. Pray for the peace of Jerusalem. We ask Yehovah, the God of Israel to bless and favor Israel according to His covenant promise. We also pray for the revelation of Yehovah ben Yeshua, Jesus Son of God, to Jews everywhere and to all nations.

The Point At Which Israel Bombs Iran

Misinformation is a big part of military action, especially when a “surprise attack” is best. A few weeks ago Leon Panetta, US Secretary of Defense and head of the Pentagon, announced that Israel would attack Iran’s nuke targets in April, May or June. At the time I thought: Why doesn’t he go ahead and release the target list with GPS coördinates so Iran can defend themselves? A few days ago an anonymous source from the Pentagon actually listed potential targets (without coördinates). We live in a world that has gone crazy. Most observers believe this is all part of the Obama Administration trying to block or at least slow Israel’s plans.

The good news is that Prime Minister Netanyahu made it quite clear Monday (full speech video) that Israel would not yield its security decisions to any other nation. We do not know the mind of God, but we must pray in accordance with His revealed Biblical purpose to restore and protect Israel. He has not regathered them from 180 nations just to kill them. That is satan’s false hope, it is not in the heart of the God of Israel. He has raised them up as a nation to make His name know to the entire world. In the end, God is God and the nations are mere mortals.

Make them tremble in fear, O Yehovah. Let the nations know they are merely human. Psalm 9:20 NLT
