Beware the Leaven

Then He (Jesus) charged them, saying, “Take heed, beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and the leaven of Herod.” Mark 8:15

Two types of leaven are referenced by Jesus in this verse: leaven of Pharisees and leaven of Herod. We know the implication. Leaven is a yeast that spreads throughout the dough so it will rise when baked. But of what is Jesus warning us?

For years I have made the case that Communism failed to dominate the world because of one critical strategic mistake. Based on atheistic humanism, it had no spiritual component. Yes it was demonic in its character and goals, but it was not inherently spiritual at its core.

On the other hand, Islam is spiritual at its core. But Jesus said to watch out for two kinds of leaven. The leaven of the Pharisees is a “religious spirit.” They go about trying to establish their own righteousness, according to the apostle Paul. It also infects modern Christians, who try to earn salvation rather than receiving it as a totally free gift of God. There is a seduction to the idea that you must do something to qualify for it. This is the religious spirit. (Jesus further defines it as the traditions or doctrines of men and as hypocrisy. See quotes at the end of this commentary).

The leaven of Herod speaks of the other kind of leaven. It is a “political spirit.” Herod was the archetypical political animal. He double crossed, connived and deceived. He played both side against the middle. Jesus called him “that fox”. Herod reminds us of today’s politics in Washington, DC.

The debt ceiling crisis we have all just witnessed, was pure politics (an interesting oxymoron). Yet, there is a greater threat rapidly rising in this nation and the world. It is militant Islam. One main reason Islam is so powerful is that it combines the two leavens. Islam is both a religious spirit and a political spirit. Communism had only the political, but Islam has both. The lust for world conquest is not only in the core of sinful man, it is fueled and energized by the passionate religion of death. The true believers are actually convinced that salvation comes by blowing up infidels, Christians and Jews and yourself in the process. These are Muslims who are faithful to the Koran and other writings, who follow WWMD: What would Mohammed do?

How opposite is the motive from Jesus and Christians who follow WWJD: What would Jesus do? Jihadists die to save themselves. Jesus died so that we could live! Pray that Muslims all over the world will discover this great salvation offered through Jesus the true Messiah and Son of God, Yehovah. His Hebrew name is Yeshua ben Yehovah. He came because God loves the whole world. Yet, it is not automatic, one must receive Jesus as Who He is.

Pray for Muslims to be set free from that evil religious spirit of earning salvation. Also pray that they be released from the political spirit of pride and greed and arrogance driving them to conquer the earth in the name of their false god.

Pray for the Church to see the folly of religious hypocrisy and repent for political methods.

Beware the leaven of the Pharisees and of Herod!

In the meantime, when an innumerable multitude of people had gathered together, so that they trampled one another, He began to say to His disciples first of all, “Beware of the leaven of the Pharisees, which is hypocrisy. Luke 12:1

Plowman Overtakes Reaper

One of the surest signs that we are in the last generation is the fulfillment of Amos 9:13-15. We can now see the plowman overtaking the reaper with our own eyes. After pronouncing severe judgment on Israel, he turns to the time of restoration. Some would say this was fulfilled in the past, but that is not possible due to the last sentence of verse 15. Today is the hour that the prophet foretold. Only today can we see history lining up with prophecy.

“Behold, the days are coming,” says Yehovah, “When the plowman shall overtake the reaper, and the treader of grapes him who sows seed; the mountains shall drip with sweet wine, And all the hills shall flow with it. I will bring back the captives of My people Israel; They shall build the waste cities and inhabit them; They shall plant vineyards and drink wine from them; They shall also make gardens and eat fruit from them. I will plant them in their land, and no longer shall they be pulled up from the land I have given them,” Says Yehovah your God. Amos 9:14-15.

“No longer” removed from the land can only apply to these last days. Every previous time, Israel was scattered again. In the end, Israel will reach the point where it is never uprooted again. The final condition of Israel is supported by multiple prophecies.

The main point in this quote is the phrase: “the plowman shall overtake the reaper.” This promise indicates a time of such fruitfulness (as in Vine, Branches, Fruit) that the crops will be so plentiful and the soil so fertile that they don’t wait till next year to plant another crop. They plow right behind the reapers. When Doreen and I and our daughter, Andrea, lived in Israel for three months in the mid-nineties, we visited a valley near Mt Hermon in the Golan Heights called the Hula Valley. Doreen is from Maine where they get one and a half cuttings of hay a year. In Georgia, they can get three or four cuttings of hay in a year. But in the Hula Valley of northern Israel they get eighteen cuttings of hay per year. That is fertile land with Yehovah’s blessing of abundance.

The text continues to say that “the mountains will drip with sweet wine”. Grapevines are not usually grown in the rocky soil of Israel’s mountains. But this era of Israel’s resurrection will see miraculous conditions allowing grape vines in the mountains. It goes on to describe gardens with fruit that they plant and enjoy for themselves, no need of imports. Again, finally, no longer will they be removed from the land. Just like they plant and reap the fruit, God will plant them again in their own land, never again to be pulled up. Thank you Father, for allowing us to live in this day of favor and restoration of your covenant people Israel. (An excerpt from my newest book, Generation LIFE, available in August, Lord willing.)

Will the Palestinian flag ever fly over a legitimate state within the Biblical boundaries of Israel? No, it will never happen because God is faithful to keep His covenant with His Land and His people Israel. Will there be more war in Israel? Yes, sadly, Psalm 83 (my 9 minute YouTube video) describes today’s buildup to a regional war. We stand on the threshold of that war, but Israel will triumph through Yehovah God’s faithfulness.

Ask Yehovah for rain In the time of the latter rain. Yehovah will make flashing clouds; He will give them showers of rain, grass in the field for everyone. Zechariah 10:1

Please continue to pray for the peace of Jerusalem and for the return of abundant rains that will cause the earth to bring forth fruitfulness. We now see the plowman overtaking the reaper! Thank you, Jesus.

Egypt Descends

Three weeks from now Egypt will elect the Muslim Brotherhood candidate for President. This completes the descent of Egypt from a functional member of the international community of nations to a pariah nation lined up for the Biblical prophecy fulfillment of Psalm 83. They will participate in that regional war in which Israel expands from the river of Egypt (the Nile) to the great river Euphrates in northeastern Syria.

Who is Mohammad Mursi? The MB presidential candidate, and predicted winner of next month’s election, is totally committed to the Muslim Brotherhood whose motto is:

– All-h is our objective.
– The Prophet is our leader.
– Qur’an is our law.
– Jihad is our way.
– Dying in the way of All-h is our highest hope.

Mursi is committed to Sharia Law in Egypt. Mursi is reported to have answered a question about freedom of religion: “People have the right to leave Islam and we have the right to kill them.”

Egyptian cleric Safwat Higazi introduced Mursi at his May 1 campaign rally: Mursi will restore the “United States of the Arabs” with Jerusalem as its capital. Millions of martyrs march toward Jerusalem.

As someone said, the “Arab Spring” doesn’t lead to democracy, it leads to Jerusalem.

Mohammed Mursi’s view of the peace treaty with Israel: underlined the necessity for his country’s rapprochement with Iran and other Muslim states, stressing that Egypt will no more be an Israeli ally.

What does this mean for Egypt’s future? The entire chapter of Isaiah 19 is now coming into fulfillment. We need to be aware of this passage. Yehovah, God of Israel, will set Egyptians against each other, brother against brother. The destruction of Egypt under “a cruel master” will be complete. Even the Nile River will dry up!

“And the Egyptians I will give into the hand of a cruel master, and a fierce king will rule over them,” says the Lord, Yehovah of hosts. The waters will fail from the sea, and the river will be wasted and dried up. The rivers will turn foul; The brooks of defense will be emptied and dried up; The reeds and rushes will wither. Isaiah 19:4-6

In that day Egypt will be like women, and will be afraid and fear because of the waving of the hand of Yehovah of hosts, which He waves over it. And the land of Judah will be a terror to Egypt; everyone who makes mention of it will be afraid in himself, because of the counsel of Yehovah of hosts which He has determined against it. Isaiah 19:16-17

Yet, there is good news for Egypt’s future beyond this horrible time. Egyptians will turn to the God of Israel and be saved!

In that day five cities in the land of Egypt will speak the language of Canaan and swear by Yehovah of hosts; one will be called the City of Destruction. In that day there will be an altar to Yehovah in the midst of the land of Egypt, and a pillar to Yehovah at its border. And it will be for a sign and for a witness to the LORD of hosts in the land of Egypt; for they will cry to Yehovah because of the oppressors, and He will send them a Savior and a Mighty One, and He will deliver them. Then Yehovah will be known to Egypt, and the Egyptians will know Yehovah in that day, and will make sacrifice and offering; yes, they will make a vow to Yehovah and perform it. And Yehovah will strike Egypt, He will strike and heal it; they will return to Yehovah, and He will be entreated by them and heal them. In that day there will be a highway from Egypt to Assyria, and the Assyrian will come into Egypt and the Egyptian into Assyria, and the Egyptians will serve with the Assyrians. In that day Israel will be one of three with Egypt and Assyria—a blessing in the midst of the land, whom Yehovah of hosts shall bless, saying, “Blessed is Egypt My people, and Assyria the work of My hands, and Israel My inheritance.” Isaiah 19:18-25

(By the way, look how nebulous this passage is with the generic “LORD” instead of His real name, Yehovah, as distinguished from all other gods.)

Islam Steals Golgotha

There is a serious problem taking place at one of Christendom’s holiest sites. Muslims are encroaching on the site next to the Garden Tomb in Jerusalem, called “the place of the skull” or Golgotha. This post features the latest development, two new signs embedded in a new wall right on the top of the famous Christian site. This new wall circles a Muslim cemetery on the hilltop. Look very closely in the first picture at the wall above the place of the skull (taken from the Garden Tomb observation deck). The signs are in Arabic. What do they say?

The left sign says “Islamic Cemetery for the Mujahideen (or Freedom Fighters)”.

The right sign says “No God but All-h and Muhammad is his Messenger”.

Mujahideen comes from the root word “jihad”: The modern phenomenon of jihadism, i.e., the movement within radical Islamism that presents jihad (offensive or defensive) as the casus belli for insurgencies, guerilla warfare and international terrorism (definition from Wikipedia).

The implications of this go far beyond religious sensitivities. It exposes the agenda of radical Islam to obliterate all other religions in their relentless drive to dominate the entire planet. We must not be ignorant of their devices.

Nakba Day Fizzles Again

Today was the annual day the Palestinians observe Nakba Day, “the Catastrophe” which is how they refer to Israel becoming a state on this date in 1948. While dozens of Palestinians and four Israeli soldiers were lightly injured, overall it was not much of a protest.

A combination of IDF readiness and a weary and fractured Palestinian public helped ensure the day passed with relatively few clashes. Times of Israel (Nakba Day Defanged)

In addition in the same report, a Palestinian human rights worker named Bassem Eid, attributed the relative calm to the state of Palestinian society, which he described as frustrated, fractured, tired and hopeless. “The back of Palestinian society has been broken by the Hamas-Fatah separation,” he said, noting that within the West Bank, a region he referred to as “Fatahstan,” the rifts within Fatah were so deep there was no hope of any coördinated uprising. “There cannot be an intifada so long as we have an intrafada,” he said.

Meanwhile, Yaachov Kirschen, the Dry Bones cartoonist, made a great point with his cartoon and commentary about a Nakba observance at Tel Aviv University. His comparison to US universities each accepting millions of dollars from Saudi Arabia to endow Muslim Professors on campuses across this country is a sober reminder. Islam intends to rule the planet and as the cliché goes: “They are in it, to win it.”

Watch therefore, and pray always that you may be counted worthy to escape all these things that will come to pass, and to stand before the Son of Man. Luke 21:36

Jordan, Part 2 Follow-up

My last post gave my reasons for Jordan teetering on the brink of its own Arab Spring. Another factor has come to light that needs understanding. Recently, an Imam in Jordan gave a militant mosque talk calling for the defeat of Jerusalem. This is the same mantra used in the other Arab revolutions of the past year.

Jordan’s army will destroy Israel and regain Jerusalem from the “killers of prophets” – that was the message a Jordanian cleric delivered in a Friday sermon on state TV, according to recently released video footage. (video and story, Jerusalem Post).

“The [Jordanian] army is invincible. Its units are filled with people who pray, with imams, and with people who memorized the Koran. This army will never be defeated, Allah willing,” Imam Ghaleb Rabab’a said in footage translated and released late last week by the Middle East Media Research Institute.

The danger of this call is that it directly contradicts the peace treaty between Jordan and Israel. This is a classic case of an irresistible force and an immovable object. Something has to give. These radical Muslim voices are effectively forming a shadow government in Jordan declaring the opposite course of the monarchy.

The Wall Street Journal published an expose’ on February 22, 2012: The Muslim Brotherhood in Jordan For the first time in decades, activists openly seek to end the monarchy.

All of these developments point to the inevitable clash coming soon in Jordan. The culture of hatred spawned by pagan Islam has set the Middle East on fire. It is a fire that is not easily quenched. It permeates the very fabric of Arab Muslim culture. In the Palestinian Authority it is against the law to sell property to a Jew punishable by death! Since its inception in 1993 and its coming to power in 1995, the Palestinian Authority has maintained old Jordanian laws that made it a capital offense to sell property to Jews. Changing the Subject

Seeing with Elisha’s eyes is the theme and the name of our ministry, Elisha Vision. Man always looks at the outward while God looks at the heart. We are transitioning from the days of Elijah to the days of Elisha, as explained in my book, Generation LIGHT.

Satan, on the other hand, always changes the subject. Today in America one such example is the great healthcare debate over the Obamacare law, focused on insurance, medicine and money, and government control of each. But, seeing the spiritual scene is the real focus of the believer. What does Yehovah God want us to see?

One of my mentors, Arthur Burt of Wales, turns 100 years old next month. He still travels the world preaching the Gospel of the Kingdom of God. He carries a vision for health. Let me explain. Man is looking at healthcare. Christians look at healing, but God is revealing a vision for health.

Do we need healthcare when sick? Sure. Do we believe Jesus can heal us? Yes, we do. But, what if our faith would expand as we grow from “faith to faith” to the degree that we walk in health? What if we could see our way through Yeshua haMashiach (Jesus, the Messiah), to simply be healthy and not even get sick? What a concept!

My prayer is that believers set our sights on the highest vision. Man is three parts: body, soul, and spirit. Most of the attention is on the body and soul, but God gives us eyes to see something far better. I am talking about this life. Of course we will all be healthy in heaven, but God gives us faith for today. Are you with me? It is time to mature our faith.

I will stand my watch and set myself on the rampart, and watch to see what He will say to me, and what I will answer when I am corrected. Then Yehovah answered me and said: “Write the vision and make it plain on tablets, that he may run who reads it. For the vision is yet for an appointed time; but at the end it will speak, and it will not lie. Though it tarries, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry. “Behold the proud, his soul is not upright in him; but the just shall live by his faith. Habakkuk 2:1-4

For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Messiah, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes, for the Jew first and also for the Greek. For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith; as it is written, “The just shall live by faith.” Romans 1:16-17

I see in this last generation, an explosion of faith in true believers. Yes, the world is sinking into a great darkness, but we are arising in the light of the glory of God. Candles are for dark places. The world needs to see light. Both Jew and Gentile will see the light of the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. The blind must open their eyes in this hour. Wake up! Stand up! Speak up! The Kingdom of God is at hand.

For King Jesus, and for His Kingdom!

Global March on Jerusalem

Ok, so all the news from Israel is about the Global March to Jerusalem. Prayer vigils were held in the Holy City tonight for the onslaught expected tomorrow, March 30. There are calls from Hamas, Hezbollah, the PLO, most Arab countries, most Muslim countries and many more sympathetic countries and groups around the world. They are calling for one million people to simple walk across the Israel borders, all the way to Jerusalem. About 1500 are even staging a fly in flotilla. What could possibly go wrong? This has been planned for months as in the graphic (seen here) of a poster that is all over the Arabic speaking world.

Some of those are calling for non-violence, but some are for violence. Attempted last year, it ended in a fizzle. We are praying the same happens this time. Israel has made extensive preparations to minimize trouble, but will it be enough? The same old accusations are the basis of the march, which can be reduced to the desire to see Israel disappear.

In a case of interesting timing, this week the Obama Administration refused to call Jerusalem, Israel’s Capital. Was is co-incidental timing or subtle encouragement to the marchers?

How does this fit into prophecy? Surprise, surprise! It comes right out of Psalm 83, both the “tumult” and “that the name of Israel be remembered no more.” But, don’t forget, that the hatred is against Yehovah. They can’t get to God, so they attack the apple of His eye. If you want to know how to pray, then just open up your Bible to Psalm 83 and pray that Psalm! We normally read for devotion, or doctrine, or information; but the best way to read the Scriptures is as an intercessor. Pray for the exact outcome that God has already declared. What a concept!

Reflections on Israel

You nations, come here and listen; you peoples, pay attention! Let the earth hear, and all that fills it, the world and all that comes from it. The LORD is angry with all the nations– furious with all their armies. He will set them apart for destruction, giving them over to slaughter. For the LORD has a day of vengeance, a time of paying back Edom for its hostility against Zion. (Isaiah 34:1-2, 8)

With the provocations against Israel from her neighbors and the turmoil within the neighboring nations making them politically desperate there is an anticipation of conflict. It just seems like the battles prophesied in Psalm 83, Isaiah 17 and Ezekiel 38 and 39 are all about to be fulfilled.

There is a prophecy in chapters 34 and 35 of Isaiah where the Lord is against the nations who have been against Israel. He says that their lands will become barren and that He will give those lands to the desert creatures including the hyenas, wild goats and screech owls. He even guarantees those critters will have possession of the land in (Isaiah 34:16). Search and read the scroll of the LORD: Not one of them will be missing, none will be lacking its mate, because He has ordered it by my mouth, and He will gather them by His Spirit. But to Israel he guarantees blessing even in the Arava (desert), maybe especially there. It is located just across the Dead Sea Valley which will make the contrast of the curse to Edom and the blessings to Zion stand out. The photo of the tomatoes is just one of many that can be found in photos of the Arava, along with watermelons and lakes. “The Arava valley stretches from the Dead Sea to the Red Sea and is part of the Syro-African rift, and much of the region is below sea level. 65% of the fresh vegetable export from Israel and about 13% of the cut flowers comes from the Arava where the most advanced farming methods are used.” (Caption from Arava photos) From a local super market I just purchased “Sharon Fruit” which is a seedless persimmon fresh from Israel. They come out each year during January and February.

Let me share a few verses to show the miracle of an agricultural desert. The wilderness and the dry land will be glad; the desert will rejoice and blossom like a rose. It will blossom abundantly and will also rejoice with joy and singing. The glory of Lebanon will be given to it, the splendor of Carmel and Sharon. They will see the glory of the LORD, the splendor of our God. (Isaiah 35:1-2) Then the lame will leap like a deer, and the tongue of the mute will sing for joy, for water will gush in the wilderness, and streams in the desert; the parched ground will become a pool of water, and the thirsty land springs of water. In the haunt of jackals, in their lairs, there will be grass, reeds, and papyrus. (Isaiah 35:6-7)

Already the plants of the more fertile areas of Carmel and Sharon grow in the Southern Negev Desert. Israel’s deserts are the only deserts in the world that are shrinking as the deserts of their neighbors grow and become more desolate. There are places where water is in abundance and there are even fish farms with Tilapia (St. Peter’s fish) and other varieties in the desert.

There is a place in Israel called Makhtesh Ramon (the world’s largest box canyon referred to as the Grand Canyon of Israel). A man a few years ago asked the Israeli government to drill for water on one of the plateaus there but was refused. So he used his own money and drilled and hit water that gushed 192 feet in the air. Today, at that site, dates, pomegranates and grapes grow next to a lake. (Jerry Golden’s news) These prophecies have been and continue to be fulfilled in our day. Perspective

This is what Yehovah says — Yehovah who made the earth, who formed and established it, whose name is Yehovah: Ask me and I will tell you remarkable secrets you do not know about things to come. Perpetual Refugeehood

Israel has been accused for over 60 years of causing a Palestinian “refugee problem”. What is the true story?

First, in 1948, all residents of the Holy Land were called Palestinians, including the large and growing Jewish population. The name had stuck from Roman times when Rome renamed the area Palestine to try to stamp out the name of Israel (see Psalm 83:1-5 below). Israel’s popular newspaper, The Jerusalem Post, was called The Palestine Post before 1948 without any contradiction at that time. (See May 16, 1948 photo at bottom of this blog.) Second, those who fled Israel in 1948 were told to leave by their own leaders, so the Arab armies could destroy Israel. Then they could come home in a few days or weeks. When Israel won the war, the Arabs decided to keep the refugees in perpetual “refugeehood”. It was not the choice of the refugees, they are the victims. It was the choice of the Arab nations who refused to resettle them or assimilate them.

Do not keep silent, O God! Do not hold Your peace, and do not be still, O God! For behold, Your enemies make a tumult; and those who hate You have lifted up their head. They have taken crafty counsel against Your people, and consulted together against Your sheltered ones. They have said, “Come, and let us cut them off from being a nation,That the name of Israel may be remembered no more.” For they have consulted together with one consent; they form a confederacy against You. Israeli Jericho Missiles Moving

Eyewitnesses report unusual movements of Israeli Jericho missiles according to World Net Daily’s Aaron Klein: Multiple eyewitnesses reported seeing Israeli military trucks in recent days transport and station large missiles at the periphery of Jerusalem and in locations inside the West Bank. The descriptions of the projectiles are consistent with the Jewish state’s mid-to-long range Jericho ballistic missiles.

Here are know facts about the Jericho III from Wikipedia: The Jericho III is believed to have a three-stage solid propellant and a payload of 1,000 to 1,300 kg. It is possible for the missile to be equipped with a single 750 kg nuclear warhead or two or three low yield MIRVwarheads…the Jericho III gives Israel nuclear strike capabilities within the entire Middle East, Africa, Europe, Asia and almost all parts of North America, as well as within large parts of South America and North Oceania.

MissileThreat.com reports: The range of the Jericho 3 also provides an extremely high impact speed for nearby targets, enabling it to avoid any Anti-Ballistic Missile (ABM) defenses that may develop in the immediate region. This would be most valuable in the event of a first-strike from Iran or as defense against Iranian retaliation to an Israeli strike on Iran’s nuclear facilities. Israel pre-positioning these arms would be another indication of an imminent hot war.

When I was a boy it was big news in our church if someone reported a prophecy fulfilled in the last year or two. When we started our Issachar Forum Prophetic Think Tank eight years ago, we soon found so many prophesies fulfilled it was hard to get them all into our weekly meeting. Now, what I have listed above, is just today!

When Jesus was asked in Matthew 24 and Luke 21 what would be the signs of His return and the end of the age, he answered the question. All of the things He predicted have happened in my lifetime. The most time specific was His prediction of first the downfall of Jerusalem (fulfilled in 70 AD) and then the restoration of Jerusalem in 1967. Gentiles indeed ruled or “trampled down” Jerusalem from 70 to 1967. Jesus then declared the most astonishing part:

When you see these things happening, know that the kingdom of God is near. Assuredly, I say to you, this generation will by no means pass away till all things take place. Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will by no means pass away. Luke 21:31-33

This passage (along with Psalm 102) is one of the main reasons I wrote Generation LAST. The actual length of a generation is debatable, but how ever long it is, we are surely in the last generation now. Look up, Jesus is coming soon!

From Tunisia to Jerusalem

Daily reports are flooding the Internet detailing the rapid expansion of Islamist goals in all areas of the Arab Spring. As the Muslim Brotherhood assumes power in state after state, two clear goals emerge. One is to impose Sharia law on all citizens. Number two is to “liberate” Jerusalem.

Reports from BBC sources in Tunisia tell of an agreement to name Hammadi Jebali as the new Prime Minister of Tunisia. Just last Sunday at a huge stadium rally he publicly declared: “The liberation of Tunisia will, God willing, bring about the liberation of Jerusalem.” Jebali declared that the occasion was “a divine moment in a new state, and in, hopefully, a 6th caliphate,” referring to the historical system of Islamic monarchies. Hamas Speaks in Tunisia Here is the quote from Tunisia Live: Tunisian Islamist party Ennahda invited Houda Naïm, a Hamas member of the Palestinian Legislative Council based in Gaza, to speak at a rally in Sousse, a coastal Tunisian city, this past Sunday. The event marked the first time in known memory a member of Hamas has addressed the Tunisian public.

Both speakers at the rally called for the liberation of Jerusalem. This obsession with Jerusalem brings to mind the clear scriptural promise of the God of Israel. The Bible describes this obsession with Jerusalem as “drunkenness”:

The burden of the word of Yehovah against Israel. Thus says Yehovah, who stretches out the heavens, lays the foundation of the earth, and forms the spirit of man within him: “Behold, I will make Jerusalem a cup of drunkenness to all the surrounding peoples, when they lay siege against Judah and Jerusalem. And it shall happen in that day that I will make Jerusalem a very heavy stone for all peoples; all who would heave it away will surely be cut in pieces, though all nations of the earth are gathered against it. Zechariah 12:1-3

Yehovah also will roar from Zion, And utter His voice from Jerusalem; The heavens and earth will shake; But Yehovah will be a shelter for His people, and the strength of the children of Israel. Joel 3:16

And it shall come to pass that whoever calls on the name of Yehovah shall be saved. For in Mount Zion and in Jerusalem there shall be deliverance, as Yehovah has said, among the remnant whom Yehovah calls. Joel 2:32

Ancient Hatred

Contemporary analysis of Islamic hatred of Israel ignores historical context. Pundits seize upon Israel’s “occupation and oppression” of innocent Palestinian “victims” or they opine about the poverty in the Muslim world as the reason for anti-semitic violence. Rarely do they admit the unrelenting history of hatred directed at the Jewish people. Consider this verse expressing God’s final judgement of the Edomites who descended from Esau, brother of Jacob (Israel). This region today is part Jordan and part Saudi Arabia.Another name for Edom was Mt Seir.

A Message for Edom: Again a message came to me from Yehovah: “Son of man, turn and face Mount Seir, and prophesy against its people. Give them this message from the Sovereign Yehovah: “I am your enemy, O Mount Seir, and I will raise my fist against you to destroy you completely. I will demolish your cities and make you desolate. Then you will know that I am Yehovah. “Your eternal hatred for the people of Israel led you to butcher them when they were helpless, when I had already punished them for all their sins.” Ezekiel 35:1-5 NLT

This ancient hatred is evident in an unreported statement by Abbas Zaki, a senior leader of the Palestinian Authority this week. He was caught on video tape speaking in Arabic exposing the true goal of the PA to utterly destroy Israel. A video clip of Zaki’s remarks was translated by MEMRI, the Middle East Media Research Institute, a media watchdog organization that monitors Arabic-language media.

Israel claims that Abbas and numerous other PA Arab officials have made it clear in many ways that the “greater” and ultimate goal has been and continues to be the elimination of the State of Israel altogether, but this was an outright statement to that effect. Zaki made his remarks during an interview on the Qatar-based Al-Jazeera satellite television channel, which reaches millions of Arabs worldwide. He noted that reaching the “greater goal” would be impossible initially, and that revealing it would not be smart: “If we say that we want to wipe Israel out… C’mon, it’s too difficult. It’s not [acceptable] policy to say so. Don’t say these things to the world,” he warned. “Keep it to yourself.” Arutz Sheva, Israel National News. Click for video.

20,000 Missing Missiles

20,000 Heat-Seeking Missiles Reportedly Feared Missing From Libyan Warehouse (Fox News) While you were sleeping, a waking nightmare began. “Matching up a terrorist with a shoulder-fired missile, that’s our worst nightmare,” Sen. Barbara Boxer, D-Calif., told ABCNews.com. One of the inevitable effects of deposing Gaddafi in Libya was the loosing of multiple thousands of weapons from his arsenal. These weapons are now finding their way into terrorist hands throughout the Middle East. This even includes Hamas in Gaza as reported by DEBKAfile: Egypt uncovers Libyan SA-24 anti-air missiles and sea mines bound for Gaza.

The missiles, (link to ABC Nightline video), four to six-feet long and Russian-made, can weigh just 55 pounds with launcher. They lock on to the heat generated by the engines of aircraft, can be fired from a vehicle or from a combatant’s shoulder, and are accurate and deadly at a range of more than two miles.

Meanwhile, back in the Arab Spring, an ominous warning was just issued by the Military leader of the rebels in Tripoli, Libya. Libya’s Islamist groups “will not allow” secular politicians to exclude or marginalise them in the intensifying battle for power in the post-Gaddafi era, the country’s most powerful Islamist leader has said. Abdel Hakim Belhaj, head of the Tripoli Military Council and founder of a jihadi group that was later disbanded, appears to be firing a shot across the bows of liberal, western-backed rivals after negotiations over broadening the rebel administration foundered. Libyan Islamists must have share in power, warns leader.

Naturally, with this ominous development, you would expect the Obama Administration to be all over it. But what is the big warning coming out of the State Department this week? Israel is building 1,100 new homes in their Capital and the US calls it: “counterproductive” and “deeply disappointing.” Yes, that is much more disturbing than 20,000 shoulder fired missiles on the loose. Those “impudent” Israeli’s are trying to build more homes in Jerusalem! Why won’t they do what the Obama Administration demands? Pray courage for Prime Minister Netanyahu to withstand the pressure.

Therefore, shall we trust God or shall we fear? It is our choice. The Bible is full of wonderful promises of His protection. We must pray for the peace of Jerusalem and all of God’s people who love the truth. We know that the truth is a person, Yeshua ben Yehovah; Jesus, Son of God. Here is one of my favorite promise passages.

Yehovah is my light and my salvation—so why should I be afraid? Yehovah is my fortress, protecting me from danger, so why should I tremble? When evil people come to devour me, when my enemies and foes attack me, they will stumble and fall. Though a mighty army surrounds me, my heart will not be afraid. Even if I am attacked, I will remain confident. The one thing I ask of Yehovah—the thing I seek most—is to live in the house of Yehovah all the days of my life, delighting in Yehovah’s perfections and meditating in his Temple. For he will conceal me there when troubles come; he will hide me in his sanctuary. He will place me out of reach on a high rock. Psalm 27:1-5 NLT

All Nations Gather

Today is the opening of the United Nations session in New York. All the nations of the earth gather to verbally attack Israel, creating a state that will be free of Jews. Palestinian leader Mahmoud Abbas insists that the UN unilaterally declare the Palestinian state ignoring Israel and all previous agreements. Israel has appeased and conceded for years based on the Oslo accords of 1993 which are now being totally ignored by the Abbas application for statehood. Prominently featured by the Abbas campaign is a mother of seven terrorists convicted of murdering Israelis. So much for the peace process.

Additionally, the Durban III Conference on Racism is also convening in New York with a similar anti-Israel goal. President Obama indicated he will veto the Abbas effort, but on 9-11 his speech bemoaned countries suffering terrorism without including Israel in his list. believers need to pray that all deception will be exposed before the whole world. Pray for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu as he speaks to the General Assembly.

I have predicted an inevitable outbreak of violence against Israel, in earlier columns, as a direct consequence of these UN meetings. Either way the votes go, violence will potentially escalate to the Psalm 83 War.

Yet, while the nations gather to oppose Israel, Yehovah God is right on schedule with His purpose to restore Israel in mercy and favor. There will be another gathering of nations to Jerusalem for final judgment according to Joel 3:1-2: “At the time of those events,” says Yehovah, “when I restore the prosperity of Judah and Jerusalem, I will gather the armies of the world into the valley of Jehoshaphat. There I will judge them for harming my people, my special possession, for scattering my people among the nations, and for dividing up my land.

When the dust settles and the Messiah Jesus comes there will be a permanent gathering of nations spoken of by Jeremiah over 2,500 years ago.

At that time Jerusalem shall be called The Throne of Yehovah, and all the nations shall be gathered to it, to the name of Yehovah, to Jerusalem. No more shall they follow the dictates of their evil hearts. Jeremiah 3:17

Palestine, the State?

Once again, let’s review the historical truth. There has never been a state called Palestine. Palestinians are Arabs, same as Jordan and 22 Arab states. There has never been any nation at any time in history with Jerusalem as its capital, except Israel. Jerusalem has been Israel’s capital for over 3,000 years, even when they were stateless. Jerusalem is mentioned over 700 times in the Bible, ZERO in the Koran. The land of Israel has been divided several times. The British Mandate and the San Remo Conference were the original “two state solution” creating Trans Jordan (now Jordan) with 78% of the Mandated Jewish Homeland, as the homeland for the Arabs. Now the United Nations is about to do it again, with a September 23 application by the Palestinian Authority to the UN for a unilateral declaration of statehood. The plot thickens.

Here is what Yehovah God says: “At the time of those events,” says Yehovah,“when I restore the prosperity of Judah and Jerusalem, I will gather the armies of the world into the valley of Jehoshaphat.There I will judge them for harming my people, my special possession, for scattering my people among the nations, and for dividing up my land. The Israel Reflex

Like a lion, Israel crouches and lies down; like a lioness, who dares to arouse her? Blessed is everyone who blesses you, O Israel, and cursed is everyone who curses you. — Even if Balak were to give me his palace filled with silver and gold, I would be powerless to do anything against the will of Yehovah. I told you that I could say only what Yehovah says! Numbers 24:9 & 13 NLT

Neutrality disappears in most discussions about Israel. The lines are being drawn throughout the world regarding Israel’s existence. Polarization is the norm. I boldly proclaim my Christian Zionism. God gave the title-deed to Israel, end of story. The Bible is quite clear. Those who reject the accuracy and authority of Scripture have recused themselves from truth. Truth is not an opinion, it is the person of Jesus the Messiah. Balaam, in the above quote, conceded the point.

The Israel Reflex manifests at the mere mention of Israel, Jerusalem or Zionism. People either love or hate Israel. We might call it the Israel Reflux Disease. (Read the first paragraph in this link). There is an old illustration of two barrels filled to the brim, one with honey, the other acid. If you kick the honey barrel, honey overflows, while kicking the acid only spills acid. Application: You find out what you are filled with when you are kicked. The earthshaking prophetic events now occurring reveal the lovers of God and the haters. There will be no middle ground. Know God, know truth. No god, no truth.

This week I pondered the interview of Chuck Pierce by Sid Roth on Sid’s TV show, It’s Supernatural. Each made a point worth sharing. Chuck observed that President Obama’s anti-Israel declaration on May 19 would come back on the United States in a specific judgement. God “would start looking at America based upon how America would align with Israel.” The Obama Administration demanded that Israel go back to the pre-1967 borders. Chuck explained that the US demand will bounce back on us: “It will cause racism to rise up – back to 1967.” Imagine the trouble coming to our land as the growing racial tension breaks out into violence and rebellion. This is a time to pray for our nation and beseech God’s blessing and purpose for Israel.

Later in the show, Sid Roth shared an interpretation of Matthew 25:40 that was new to me. And the King will answer and say to them, ‘Assuredly, I say to you, inasmuch as you did it to one of the least of these My brethren, you did it to Me.’Forty years of my preaching yielded only two views of this verse. The broad meaning was caring for all mankind as brothers. The narrower application was to care for all believers in particular. Now I see a third and more literal reading of this verse. Sid explained that in Matthew, the 25th chapter, there’s a separation between goats and sheep. There are goat nations and sheep nations. A goat nation has a mind of its own. A sheep nation follows the shepherd. And in Matthew 25:40, we know the one sin that causes a nation to be a goat nation or a sheep nation. The one sin is, “As you have done unto the least of these, my brethren,” and in the Greek, the word “brethren” means “those from the womb”. “As you have done unto the least of these, my physical brethren from the womb, it will be done unto you.” After studying the downloaded transcript, I checked in the Greek and indeed the word brethren does indeed refer to Israel, the physical seed from which Jesus came. Combining this revelation with the lesson of Balaam, gives us both Old and New Testament confirmation of today’s great test for every nation. How do you treat Israel? That is exactly how God will treat you! Amen. Selah.

Destroy Israel for World Peace?

Whatever happened to merry olde England? Witness the young boy holding the sign. Thanks to the Elder of Ziyon website for the picture and links regarding the Al Quds terror rally in London on Sunday 8-21-11. “It is time, Brothers and Sisters, for Al Quds to be liberated. For Islam and people of the world who wish to pray there to the one God. And we say here today to you Israel, we see your crimes and we loathe your crimes. And to us your nation does not exist, because it is a criminal injustice against humanity. We want to see Lebanon, Jordan and Egypt go to the borders and stop this now. Liberate Al Quds! March to Al Quds!” These were the words spoken by Lauren Booth (Tony Blair’s half-sister-in-law) at the Al Quds Day terror rally organised by the Islamic Human Rights Commission in London’s Trafalgar Square yesterday. Just what exactly is Al Quds Day? Al Quds Day is an Iranian holiday created by Ayatollah Khomeini, expressing solidarity with the Palestinian people and opposing Zionism as well as Israel’s control of Jerusalem. In Iran, it is held on the last Friday of Ramadan, August 26 this year. The name al Quds is Arabic for Jerusalem and is their attempt to revise history and the Muslim claims that it was always Islamic.

Make no mistake, it is not about land or freedom or oppression. It is about Jerusalem! It is about Israel’s very right to exist as a Jewish state. The Bible is crystal clear that Jerusalem is the center of all prophetic scenarios of end time events. Jerusalem is the prize coveted by many groups and nations. The UN wants to turn it into an international city. The Vatican wants control. The Muslims want to seize it and eliminate the Jews and all memory of Israel’s existence “Come,” they say, “let us wipe out Israel as a nation. We will destroy the very memory of its existence.” Psalm 83:4 NLT

The good news is that Yehovah God, the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob has a better plan. He intends to exalt Jerusalem. I have set watchmen on your walls, O Jerusalem; They shall never hold their peace day or night. You who make mention of Yehovah, do not keep silent, And give Him no rest till He establishes and till He makes Jerusalem a praise in the earth. Isaiah 61:6-7

There indeed is a Jerusalem DAY coming when God will complete His purpose. The prophetic timing is quite specific as seen in this verse: For behold, in those days and at that time, when I bring back the captives of Judah and Jerusalem, I will also gather all nations, and bring them down to the Valley of Jehoshaphat;and I will enter into judgment with them there on account of My people, My heritage Israel, whom they have scattered among the nations. They have also divided up My land. Joel 3:1-2

The timing is after Israel has been regathered from the scattering (or Diaspora) to all nations. After Israel is back in the land, Yehovah will then gather the nations there to judge them because they divided His land! I highly recommend you read the rest of Joel 3 where God details exactly what and how He will do it. Jerusalem will be holy, Israel will be forgiven, the land will be fruitful, and Jerusalem will abide forever! Praise the name of the living God Yehovah and his resurrected Son Yeshua ben Yehovah, Jesus Son of God.

This Dry Bones cartoon touches a nerve in a growing trend not only in England, but around the world. We pray it not come to America, but early signs suggest it will come here, too. There is a logical progression in my title today. Mobs without restraint become riots which can lead to full-scale revolution.

Mob rule is nothing more than anarchy. There is vivid historic example in the bloody French Revolution characterized by mob violence and riots as the means of social change. The American revolution, on the other hand, was a unified resistance to tyranny conducted in an orderly and principled manner. The new republic which emerged set the gold standard for true freedom in its Declaration of Independence and the U. S. Constitution.

The best treatment of this subject is in Ann Coulter’s newest book, Demonic. Whatever you may think of her, the case is made with excellence. What makes this her best book….her incisive demonstration that the revolution was the mother of the many totalitarian “revolutions” it spawned in the name of the people, her dissection of the mob mentality that drove it, and her case against today’s American liberals as exemplars of this mob mentality.

She writes that “all the bloody totalitarian dictatorships of the twentieth century have drawn inspiration from Rousseau and the French Revolution.” All the “great liberal ‘reformers’ of the twentieth century, from Lenin to Hugo Chavez,” got their “playbook from :Robespierre” — probably the worst and most radical of the French revolutionaries — “who argued, following Rousseau, that a ‘Republic of Virtue’ could only be achieved by ‘virtue combined with terror.'”

Democrats, says Coulter, “are heirs to the French Revolution, the uprising of a mob,” whereas “conservatives are heirs to the American Revolution and the harmonious order of a republic.” David Limbaugh, Newsmax

Topic 2: Fifteen Days of Doom for Syria

President Obama and the leader of Turkey have set Syrian President Bashar Assad a deadline of Aug. 27 for “extinguishing the popular uprising against his rule and starting to implement genuine democratic reforms.” Are you kidding me? Assad can continue murdering his own people for two more weeks (now over 2,000 but likely double or triple that amount). It may be the most outrageous foreign policy decision yet for the Obama Administration.

It would be like hundreds of terrorists capturing a Chicago mall with several thousand hostages. With the National Guard and SWAT teams in place surrounding the mall, the terrorists start killing one hostage every hour. Then the Guard and SWAT Commanders, along with the FBI, announce that the terrorists will have 15 days to finish their murderous reign of terror before any action taken against them. Fifteen days to “extinguish” the uprising in Syria translated means: We will do nothing to stop you for 15 days!

The very next day, Assad increased his attacks! Encouraged by the 15-day leeway granted him by the US President Barak Obama and Turkish Prime Minister Tayyip Erdogan, Bashar Assad Monday, Aug. 15, sent his tanks backed by mechanized infantry into Homs, a town of 1.5 million inhabitants.

“The word of Yehovah came to me a second time saying, ‘What do you see?’ and I said, ‘I see a boiling pot, facing away from the north.’ Then Yehovah said to me, ‘Out of the north the evil will break forth on all the inhabitants of the land.’” Jeremiah 1:13, 14

We must pray for mercy and peace in this day of anarchy and revolution. Pray for the peace of Jerusalem. Pray for the victory coming in the imminent Psalm 83 War. Pray in the name of Yeshua ben Yehovah, Jesus Son of God.

Seeing Today’s World with Elisha’s Eyes

There is a major transition underway in the Church. For several decades the emphasis has been on the Elijah anointing of struggle against false gods, and the restoration of Fatherhood. Today, however, we have moved into an era of seeing more clearly in the Holy Spirit dimension, just as Elisha’s servant saw God’s answer in the chariots of fire surrounding the Syrian army. Generation LIGHT, Book Two in the GENERATION Series, examines the transition from Elijah to Elisha with our focus on seeing what God sees. Book Three – Generation LIFE completes the story with the power of resurrection life.

Book One was Generation LAST, on why I am convinced we are now in the last generation of history as we know it. The conclusion was a revelation of Isaiah 60 and the glory of Yehovah given to His people at one of the darkest hours of world history. Glory is expressed some 15 times in the first five verses of Isaiah 60 as arise, shine, glory seen, and even the word light.

Perhaps the most important key word is radiant, found in verse 5. We do not simply reflect God’s glory, we radiate His glory: Then you shall see and become radiant, and your heart will swell with joy; (Isaiah 60:5a).

Jesus is the light of the world. Generation LIGHT reveals His glorious light expressed in supernatural power enabling us to swim against the rising tide of the enemy of our souls. The result is not only survival, but also an overcoming authority: to heal, to save, and to set captives free. This is the day of resurrection power as exemplified in Elisha, then Jesus, and finally in the last generation, through Israel and the Church.

While this book accentuates “seeing” as the prerequisite LIGHT, the GENERATION Series concludes with the third book about that resurrection power, Generation LIFE. Look for it soon.

I am praying that we see what God sees and radiate His glory and His joy! This is the only way to function effectively in today’s dysfunctional world.

This is an amazing generation to be alive. We are seeing hundreds of prophecies spoken over two thousand years ago popping up in precise fulfillment before our eyes. This is the generation of light, but this is way beyond the “age of enlightenment.” This is a time of Divine revelation which I pray you see through Elisha eyes. The God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob is arising with a purpose. Jesus, who was the author of our faith, is also the finisher. This is a day of fullness. Much that the prophets have spoken will be completed in our day.

And that He may send Jesus Christ, who was preached to you before, whom heaven must receive until the times of restoration of all things, which God has spoken by the mouth of all his holy prophets since the world began (Acts 3:20-21).

What a glorious fact. We are so favored to live in this day. In this book we will discover the purpose of His glorious light. My prayer for you is that you will explore this purpose and that you may see as Elisha and his servant saw.

Israel has risen out of the dust heap of history to become a vibrant nation. It is historically obvious. This is also the day of the rise of the Church, even while many who call themselves Christians fall away from the faith in the great apostasy. Yet, this day is destined to reveal the final glory of the true Church.

And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death (Revelation 12:11).

Middle East Apartheid?

1. (in South Africa) A policy or system of segregation or discrimination on grounds of race. 2. Segregation in other contexts.

Why do people move as animal herds? An idea catches on and everybody blindly jumps on the bandwagon, unthinkingly. I remember the hippie days of the sixties when it was cool to drop out and be different. But then they all looked alike. There was an unwritten dress code and hair length. You could spot a hippie in any crowd. They were different all alike.

Apartheid is like that. Coined in South Africa, it is now applied in crazy ways. Israel is the only true and free democracy in the Middle East, yet it is accused of apartheid. Free speech, freedom of assembly, voting and diversity are all present. Even the Arabs in Israel have it better than Arabs in any Arab country. The mob mentality of anti-Israel folks is ridiculous. This is clearly revealed in a series of posters from an Israeli satirical, yet factual, site called Elder of Ziyon.

Disney World and the Middle East

My wife and I and Andrea, our youngest daughter, lived in Jerusalem for three months in the mid-nineties. We spent a lot of time in the old city and actually made friends of one of the Arab shop keepers on David Street inside the Jaffa Gate. He dressed in worn and rather dirty robes which helped his pitch to the hapless tourists as he bargained over prices. He genuinely had fun in the process as he explained how needy his family was and could not lower the price anymore (until you walked away). We talked with him on numerous occasions. The last day we stopped to say our goodbyes when he asked where we lived. We explained that we were from Florida, to which he exclaimed: “Ah, yes, Disney World! We are going there next month!” We have enjoyed many good laughs over that story in the years since.

Disney World is a true multi-cultural experience. It is truly another world. In the real world Israelis and Arabs have many layers of historical conflict, but in the Magic Kingdom, it all goes away for a day.

Last week my family was blessed with an extraordinary vacation. The idea began when friends provided seven nights in a beautiful timeshare resort in Orlando. We enjoyed a wonderful suite on the top floor overlooking both the pool and the lake. We were all set for a relaxing week only 10 minutes from Downtown Disney at Lake Buena Vista. We had not budgeted a vacation this summer, so we intended to simply enjoy the free opportunities all around us. Then another friend started the ball rolling for two free Press tickets to Disney World on the basis of my columnist status. Well, in the end we found the favor of the Lord and the favor of Disney’s Public Relations Department, who provided five “park hopper” tickets. We made the most of it last Wednesday with 10 hours at the Magic Kingdom and 6 hours at Epcot in ONE DAY! Thank you for all who helped make it happen, especially for the children, as our 11-year-old grandson declared: “This was truly the best week of my life.” We prayed and gave thanks to God every day as a family last week for His blessings.

The real world did not change while we were in Fantasy Land, but it was a sweet gift from the Lord. I harbor no illusions about the events unfolding between Israel and her neighbors. It is a tough neighborhood. My prayer for Jews and Muslims alike is that they will find peace. Yet, I know the only “real world” peace available, starts with making peace with Yehovah God. He is the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. True peace comes through His Son, the Messiah Yeshua. I pray for the peace of Jerusalem.

If you are blessed with even a small vacation this summer, I pray that you will be able to “unplug” and really rest. But as you do, remember to pray and give thanks. Disney World is great fun, but just wait until you see what our Father God has prepared for those who love Him. It will make the best humans can build, look like a cheap street carnival, compared to the glory and delight of eternity with the God of Heaven and the New Jerusalem, with those streets of real gold!

Anthony Weiner’s Wife

I will not comment on the sins of former Congressman Anthony Weiner. The text above is enough said. However, in our sympathy for his new bride expecting their first baby, something has come to light that is not about immorality, but ideology. Walid Shoebat, a Christian ex-Muslim, has just reported that Huma Abedin, the offended wife, is more than simply the loyal “right hand woman of Hillary Clinton”. Born in Kalamazoo, Michigan, she was educated in Jedda, Saudi Arabia from age two to eighteen. Her father was an Islamic scholar of Indian descent while her mother is originally from Pakistan.

The plot thickens with the revelation that her mother is a member of the Muslim Brotherhood in Saudi Arabia, according to Arabic news sources cited by a former Palestinian Liberation Organization operative. Walid Shoebat, an ex-Muslim Brotherhood activist in the Holy Land, translated sources that say Huma Abedin’s mother, Saleha Mahmoud Abedin, a professor of sociology in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, belongs to the Sunni movement’s women’s division known as the Muslim Sisterhood. One of the Sisterhoods aims, reportedly, is “to spread the Brotherhood’s ideology by infiltrating universities, schools and homes.”

He said Israel cannot stop the resolution from going forward and has few friends in the international body, but a veto from any member of the UN Security Council would block the proposal from reaching the General Assembly, whose anti-Israel majority likely would approve it. Naksa Day, planned for June 7, to protest Israel’s Six Day War victory in 1967. Thanks to Obama putting 1967 back on the table, Palestinians now plan to rush the borders in mass numbers again as they did on May 15. With days of rage, and now regular border clashes, you wonder when they ever work. All of this is leading up to the big one in September when PA pushes for a unilateral declaration of statehood. Psalm 83 will burst into reality at some point.

1967 Lies

Yes, I said 1967 lies, not 1967 lines. President Obama today totally and shamelessly moved the United States of America into direct violation of Joel 3:2, the consequences of which will bring fearful calamities on America. I am not making this up. He proclaimed this seismic shift in US policy, at a time when this nation has suffered six weeks of continuous tragedies already, including two rounds of killer tornadoes, fires in Texas and now flooding in the Mississippi River and delta. I use the word seismic with great trepidation since earthquake is the one natural disaster we have not seen. To quote Thomas Jefferson, I tremble for my country when I reflect that God is just; that his justice cannot sleep forever.

Let’s look deeper into Joel 3:2. I will also gather all nations, And bring them down to the Valley of Jehoshaphat; And I will enter into judgment with them there On account of My people, My heritage Israel, Whom they have scattered among the nations; They have also divided up My land.

First, note that the historical timing of this event is clear from verse one; it is after God has regathered Israel from all the nations into their own land. The reason for the prophesied judgment of God is simple. The nations have divided His land.

Israel is now 45 miles wide; the entire country is only 45 miles wide! Reverting to the 1967 pre-war borders would make Israel 8 (EIGHT!) miles wide. What is wrong with this picture? President Obama has agreed to the Palestinian pre-condition demanded by Yassar Arafat. This division of the land would assure Israel’s destruction by the growing menace of radical Islam surrounding them. With friends like President Obama, who needs enemies?

Abbas, leader of the West Bank Palestinian Authority, wrote a New York Times Op-Ed wherein he rewrote history. He openly lied about history claiming that Israel attacked the Arabs in 1948, when the facts are utterly clear from recorded history. The UN voted Israel as a nation one day and the next day seven Arab armies invaded Israel to drive her into the sea. Three of those nations are still in a state of war with Israel since that time. Egypt and Jordan, who later made treaties, are about to break them.

The world is also rewriting the history of 1967. Again, Israel was drawn into war by invading armies. When the dust settled, Israel had a miraculous victory and control of more land (Gaza, West Bank, the Sinai and the Golan Heights). President Obama thinks it is a good idea for Israel to give it all back so they can try again. Either way, there will be war. Obama’s speech simply moves up the timing.

Helen Thomas was wrong. The Jews will not “go back where they came from.” There is no other place for them. Israel is their land and they are there to stay, not by UN permission, but by the authority of Almighty Yehovah God and His unbreakable promise.

May 15 Catastrophe Day Starts Early

We continue to pray that the Nakba Day riots will fizzle. However it has already begun. Even the Western media is beginning to report it. Thousands of Egyptians storm the Israeli Consulate in Alexandria, while more pictures are now coming through of Egyptians coming to the Gaza/Israel border. Some of these are women and children in horse carts for effect. People are also massing in Gaza, West Bank, Lebanon and Syria. One Fox News TV reporter, conveniently embedded with Palestinian rock throwers, gets a whiff of tear gas and coughs convincingly (good live TV).
The story, once buried, is now catching fire as linked to the demonstration/riots all over the Arab world. This is a cunning and evil plot. While Abbas claims he opposes a third intifada, a top official of the Palestinian Authority says the PA can’t stop an intifada if the people start one on Sunday. (Hint-Hint). This is tacit approval if not full endorsement of new violence.
The biased microscope of world media will scrutinize and magnify any Israeli mistakes. Believers are fasting and praying for wisdom in the Israeli responses. What would the US do if thousands just walked across the border at several places at the same time? This is the dilemma facing Israel this weekend.

Israel/Egypt Treaty Jeopardy

Topic #1 Egyptians Oppose Israel Peace

The Pew Poll of Egyptians released last week revealed some hard facts for the naïve Western leftist media. Most were rejoicing for the “Arab Spring” destined to bring freedom and democracy to the Middle East. They were dead wrong. 54% of Egyptians from all levels of society and whether secular or religious, desire to annul the treaty with Israel. Only 36% choose to maintain it. The poll deserves a deeper look than can fit in this space, but a few highlights jump out.

Another result has 75% favorable toward the Muslim Brotherhood. September’s election will bring their ideology into the core of Egyptian policy. They don’t have to win, they have already won. Any candidate from any party will have to appeal to that overwhelming sentiment of the voters. President Bush forced an election in Gaza, convinced that the people would vote for moderates. Hamas was elected by 70% of the vote.

A third question asked how strictly Egypt’s laws should follow the Koran. 27% were for the principles of Islam, 62% were for strict adherence to Sharia Law. That is 89% lining up for a theocracy! Wake up and smell the Turkish coffee.

Topic #2 Obama in Middle East Polls?

Israeli polls the last two years show President Obama in single digits of 6 in 2009 and 9 in 2010. Most Israeli’s consider him pro-Palestinian. George W. Bush had 88% favorable! Just as surprising are Obama’s numbers in the Egypt Pew poll. 52% disagree with his handling of the recent protests. What does this mean? Cairo, Egypt was the setting for one of his milestone speeches trying to woo the Muslim world. This may have had the effect of encouraging calls for an open democracy, but the result is anything but. President Obama repeated his mantra that we are not at war with Islam and never will be. Yet, we are in three shooting wars, and the ones we are shooting at, are Muslims. 99% of all the terrorists and pirates are Muslims. If this isn’t war, what does war look like?

This will happen because these evil prophets deceive my people by saying, ‘All is peaceful’ when there is no peace at all! It’s as if the people have built a flimsy wall, and these prophets are trying to reinforce it by covering it with whitewash! Ezekiel 13:10

Syrian Prefers Israel

The Associated Press reported a conversation with a Syrian demonstrator declaring the Middle East’s dirty little secret. Arabs living in Israel proper are better off than Arabs living in any Arab country.

For the past half century, Syrians have despised Israel, and, by extension, the Jews in general. But right now, they wish more than anything that they could have it as good as the Palestinians and live under “Israeli occupation.”

“Let Israel come and take Syria. Let the Jews come – anything is better than [Syrian dictator] Bashar Assad,” a frightened pro-democracy protester told the Associated Press by telephone during a government crackdown on Monday. (Israel Today)

What does all of this mean in Bible prophecy? It brings us back to the unfolding fulfillment of Psalm 83. Everything is falling into place. Add in the chaos in Gaza, the unrest in Jordan and Hezbollah’s takeover of Lebanon. You have all the necessary developments for the imminent war. The last four verses of the Psalm reveal the prayer of the Psalmist for the salvation of the enemy. He desires that they seek God’s name. Either they turn to Yehovah or perish. Either way, they will know that Yehovah is is the only true God.

So pursue them with Your tempest, and frighten them with Your storm. Fill their faces with shame, that they may seek Your name, O Yehovah. Let them be confounded and dismayed forever; yes, let them be put to shame and perish, that they may know that You, whose name alone is Yehovah, are the Most High over all the earth. (Psalm 83:15-18)

Pray for the peace of Jerusalem and the salvation of her enemies.

Damascus Destroyed!

Okay, so it hasn’t happened yet, but it will. The burden against Damascus. “Behold, Damascus will cease from being a city, And it will be a ruinous heap”. Isaiah 17:1.

Damascus will be destroyed. You can take that to the bank. The capital of Syria is the oldest continuously inhabited capital in the world. God says it will become a heap of ruins. It has never been destroyed in all the wars of history. Jerusalem has been destroyed at least eleven times.

We have seen the Psalm 83 prophecy building for several years now. It makes sense that the Isaiah 17 prophecy would be part of that war. Just today, the Jerusalem Post reported that 49 died in protests in Syria. YNet News later reported those killed today by the government passed 70. Fox News is also reporting the violence.

This may be the most important news story of the month. While most eyes are on Libya, the growing crisis in Syria has more direct significance to prophecy. CNN reported that Jordan also continues to experience growing anti-government demonstrations spurred on by the Muslim Brotherhood in the name of Palestinians.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu will speak to a joint session of Congress next month. His pivotal speech will set the tone for Israel’s response to world pressure (Los Angeles Times) for the UN to unilaterally declare an independent state of Palestine.

Pray for the peace of Jerusalem!

Jesus is alive, the grave is empty. Death has lost its sting. Hallelujah!

Radical Islam, Psalm 83 & the Palestinian Flag

Nations are falling like dominoes to radical Islam. Is the Palestinian flag destined to fly over the heartland of Israel? Will Biblical Judea and Samaria become the 22nd Arab state? The irresistible force of radical Islam is about to collide with the immovable ROCK of Israel, not the nation of Israel, but the God of Israel.

What could possibly reverse the revolutionary momentum that is building in the Middle East? God has already revealed His plan. It is not secret. Israel’s enemies indeed scheme and plot in secret, but God Who knows the end from the beginning has recorded exactly what will transpire in Psalm 83. It has been sitting there in the Bible for over 3,000 years. It is only now in the 21rst Century that everything is in place for its prophetic fulfillment.

Psalm 83 lists each country by name. It includes every country that directly borders Israel. The resulting war will be impossible for Israel to win without supernatural intervention from God. Yet win they will and confound the earth.

The Muslim Caliphate and The Psalm 83 War: The Domino Theory Ends Here

Middle East Dominoes was the subject of my January 16 essay.

We are now seeing the dominoes falling at a dizzying pace. Where will it lead? Where will it stop? The final result will be the resurrection of the Islamic Caliphate. The entire Islamic Empire will be revived from Indonesia to Morocco, and from Turkey and the “stans” to the Sudan and Somalia. This will transpire in just a few years.

How can such a monumental event occur so fast? There are two forces, one physical, one spiritual. There is a physical theory of dominoes falling called “domino amplifier” which has proven that each domino can be larger than the previous. This can be demonstrated by starting with a normal one and, in 29 steps, knocking down the last one as tall as a skyscraper. See Domino Amplifier (scroll down to Article 1.68 on this link).

Thus what has already begun in Gaza, Lebanon, Tunisia and now Egypt, will continue to amplify until the fall of the Arab world to radical Islam and the revived Caliphate.

The second force is spiritual. Radical Islam is above all else a spiritual movement. By this I mean that it is a political ideology on steroids. If Communism was not godless it may have conquered the world. Ideas are not enough. But ideas with fanatical allegiance to an apocalyptic deity will indeed threaten the entire world. Now couple these facts with the Biblical narrative.

Psalm 83 is a core prophecy that must be understood. The first five verses explain the motive of these enemies: hatred of the God of the Bible who is worshipped by both Christians and Jews. Since God is out of reach, they must indirectly attack His chosen people Israel, even to the extent “that the name of Israel be remembered no more.”

Do not keep silent, O God! Do not hold Your peace, And do not be still, O God! For behold, Your enemies make a tumult; And those who hate You have lifted up their head. They have taken crafty counsel against Your people, And consulted together against Your sheltered ones. They have said, “Come, and let us cut them off from being a nation, That the name of Israel may be remembered no more.” For they have consulted together with one consent; They form a confederacy against You (Psalm 83:1-5).

The Psalm continues by listing the actual attacking countries. The prophecy stands alone, but is even more profound when compared with a more common prophecy of the Gog and Magog War recorded in Ezekiel 38. This later war also lists the countries involved. The amazing fact is that none of the Psalm 83 protagonist countries are listed in Ezekiel’s prophecy. This leads to the conclusion that Israel actually wins the Psalm 83 war and occupies much of the surrounding territory. The first Israel land promise to Abraham was “from the river of Egypt to the great river Euphrates” (Genesis 15:18)

Another distinction between the prophecies is that the Psalm 83 nations in the closer ring around the land of Israel are all Arab Muslim nations. The nations remaining are all non-Arab Muslims. It is this larger circle of nations that fulfills the Biblical antichrist prophecies. The Islamic Empire will rise again and be governed under Sharia Law by the Caliphate. This revived empire will be ruled by the Islamic messianic figure called the Mahdi (or Twelfth Imam).

My friend Walid Shoebat, an ex-Muslim and former terrorist, expressed the process clearly in his excellent book: God’s War on Terror: Islam, Prophecy and the Bible (p.81; Top Executive Media, 2008). “Biblically, the Empire of the Antichrist will not be a new empire; rather it will be the revival of a previously great empire that will have suffered what the Bible calls a ‘fatal head wound’. (Revelation 13:3) But the wound will be healed and the empire will be revived from the dead as it were: ‘And the beast [Antichrist Empire] which I saw was like a leopard, and his feet were like those of a bear, and his mouth like the mouth of a lion. And the dragon gave him his power and his throne and great authority.. And I saw one of his heads as if it had been slain and his fatal wound healed. And the whole world was amazed and followed after the beast.” (Revelation 13:2-3) “Today the Caliphate exists only in the desires of hundreds of millions of Muslims worldwide who want to revive this beast that was slain March 3, 1924. The last Caliphate – the Ottoman Caliphate – was officially abolished by the first President of the Turkish Republic, Mustafa Kemal Ataturk. The abolition of the Caliphate is profoundly significant for our study. For it was on this day that the Islamic Empire, led by a sitting Caliph for over fourteen hundred years suffered a fatal head wound. The position of “head of state” of the Islamic Empire was severed.”

The part that jumps out in Walid’s quote is the interpretation of the fatal head wound. By applying that verse to the line of Caliphs, we come full circle to our conclusion. The Middle East dominoes are falling. It is now unstoppable until the rise of the final Caliph and his Caliphate over the Muslim world and however many other nations that succumb. Ignorance and apathy are blinding many from this truth. It is time for the West to open their eyes to the inevitable realities. (READ MORE)

Topic #1 Erase the Tapes, Burn the Books

My friend Bob Mumford opined many years ago that cassette tapes should work for 5 years and then self-destruct. It had to do with “further revelation.” I find this true in my life. Only one year ago I published my second book Generation Last, and there are already two major changes as I work on my third book Generation Light.

I have changed my opinion on how to pronounce God’s name, Yehovah (from Yahweh). Now I have another change in my view of Psalm 83. I wrote in my book that Egypt is not in the list of nations there. I was wrong. About six months ago I had an exchange of books with another Middle East prophecy author named Bill Salus. His newest book is Israelstine, an open discussion of last day scriptures, especially Psalm 83. He began to convince me about Egypt, and current events have confirmed it. Topic #2 A Lamb For Rachel

Doreen has just published her second children’s book in time for Passover. For those who met Matt, a young Christian and his friend Rachel a young Jew in her first book, you will love their new adventures in discovery. In the previous book they learned How Hanukkah Saved Christmas. Now Matt learns about Passover by experiencing a real Passover with Rachel’s family.

This new story is an excellent chapter book for children and works great with Mom or Dad reading it to younger ones. Matt struggles with personal experiences that are about to turn his world upside down. All of these events teach both Matt and Rachel exciting new things that change their lives forever. Doreen and I are celebrating our 44th Anniversary this June. We are so thankful to Jesus for His life and light and blessings. Topic #1 Jesus Is My Reason for the Season

Christmas once again dominates the conversation. The convergence of agendas creates extra pressure. Congress is down to the wire again this year passing tax relief and cramming another 20,000 hidden earmarks in the omnibus CR (Continuing Resolution) just to fund the government. Atheists are attacking belief in God on billboards. Merchants are clamoring and almost begging as they vie for our dollars. Shoppers are frenzied with last minute pressure to avoid offending by their gifts or lack thereof. Whew!

And oh, by the way, the Creator of the Universe was born into our humanity for the express purpose of bringing fallen man back into loving relationship with our heavenly Father. Jesus is buried under the avalanche of commercialism, government chaos, and personal gratification. Yet, miraculously, the name of Jesus is heard everywhere. Once a year Jesus’ name is in the news (even though scholars believe His actual birth was probably in late September). The Messiah is news even at Macy’s. (Yes, you will really be blessed to click on this link.) I pray you recognize the choices before you, choose wisely and be blessed. As for me and my house, we will serve Jesus (Yahweh Yeshua: God is salvation).

Topic #2 Fire Rain and SNOW!

During Israel’s worst fire, we prayed for rain to end the drought. Last week brought enough rain to replace the deficit of the previous two months. Last weekend four feet of snow fell in the Golan foothills and twelve feet on Mt. Hermon. Thanks to God for His mercy. Pray Israel will recognize and turn to Him.

Big news around the globe this week is all the fallout from classified documents posted on the internet. Just about everybody comes out looking pretty bad except Israel. According to a report in Israel Today Magazine: “If anything, the leaks were positive and did not damage Israel’s image at all,” former National Security Adviser Giora Eiland told Voice of Israel radio. “There was no contradiction between what Israel has said in public and in private.” What a testament to integrity. Other countries say one thing in public and something else in private.

But above all things, my brothers, don’t swear, neither by heaven, nor by the earth, nor by any other oath; but let your yes be yes, and your no, no; so that you don’t fall into hypocrisy. James 5:12

Pray for the real peace of Jerusalem. Come Lord Jesus, come.

Topic # 2 Yahweh Explained

The personal name of the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob is used 6,828 times in the Hebrew scriptures. However, in the English translations it is mistranslated as LORD (all caps) most of the time. There are many prophesies declaring that His name will be known in the last days. In Generation LAST, my newest book, I devote three chapters on the restoration of His holy name. English spellings vary between Jehovah, Yehovah and Yahweh. With the rise of the pagan god of Islam, more of the world knows that name than the God of Israel. Topic #1 The Myth of Islam Claiming Jerusalem

Historically speaking, Islam’s claim to Jerusalem is relatively recent, less than 100 years. Jerusalem is mentioned 811 times in the Bible and zero times in the Koran. Today, in fact, the Shiite wing of Islam does not revere Jerusalem.

It is convenient for the Palestinians to exaggerate their claims for political purposes. When Ariel Sharon’s group of 20 people visited the Temple Mount in 2000, it was cleared weeks ahead by Palestinian authorities. Still, Yassar Arafat called for a million martyrs to come and defend Al-Aqsa.

There are two sites in the entire world where Jews are prohibited by a state to pray. One is Mecca in Saudi Arabia and the other is the Temple Mount in Jerusalem. Israel itself bans Jews and Christians prayer to avoid incitement.

Yet, Jerusalem has been seen by Jews and the Bible as their only capital city for over 3,000 years.

Topic # 2 Israeli Navigator Was Messianic

One of the two Israelis killed in last week’s air force accident in the southern Negev region was a Messianic Jew from the Jerusalem suburb of Maaleh Adumim. The funeral of Maj. Emanuel Levi, 30, was Sunday morning in the Israeli capital. Levi was a member of a Messianic congregation in Maaleh Adumim, a town of nearly 30,000 that the world wants evacuated because it is a “Jewish settlement.” (Israel Today 11-14-10)

PM Netanyahu said last week in New Orleans. ”Israel will not be dictated to.” (The Daily Star 11-9-10) He later said in a November 9 formal statement: “Jerusalem is not a settlement.” (Jerusalem Post 11-10-10)
