Don’t Feed the Animals

don't feedThe food stamp program, part of the Department of Agriculture, is pleased to be distributing the greatest amount of food stamps ever in its history.

Meanwhile, the Park Service, also part of the Department of Agriculture, asks us to “Please Do Not Feed the Animals,” because the animals may grow dependent and not learn to take care of themselves. (Thanks to Dave McCurdy for this.)

Does anyone notice a disconnect here?

This bothers me on three levels. First, is the obvious fact that our government is systematically creating total dependence on its services. Between welfare and government employees, 50% of Americans now depend directly on the government for their “daily bread”. The transfer from depending on God to man is breathtakingly arrogant, and is accelerating.

Second, this creates a “demanding spirit”. Derek Prince, Bible teacher and mentor, used a profound phrase: “You can never satisfy a demanding spirit”. A genuine, sincere request can be answered. But once people get something for nothing, they always want more.Hell and Destruction are never full; So the eyes of man are never satisfied. Proverbs 27:20 There is a satanic spirit behind the demands. It is also illustrated in the demands of terrorists. All attempts to meet their demands are only answered with more demands. Appeasement is a dead end.

Third, never cast your pearls before swine. Jesus taught, that not valuing your gestures, they would turn and attack you! Don’t waste what is holy on people who are unholy. Don’t throw your pearls to pigs! They will trample the pearls, then turn and attack you. Matthew 7:6

There is a place for food stamps for truly needy people, but it should have the goal of independence rather than unending dependence. The same can be said of nearly unlimited unemployment benefits. There are now operational plans where the benefits lead to actual employment. For even when we were with you, we commanded you this: If anyone will not work, neither shall he eat. 2 Thessalonians 3:10

Obama’s Unknown Language re: Orlando

Some speak in generalities by ignorance, others by intention. President Obama intentionally obscures meaning by speaking generalities. He has perfected the “art form” of speaking without saying anything. Consider his explanation of the Orlando shooter’s motive. While this might be an effective tool of discussion in a philosophy class, it is unhelpful from the leader of the free world.

Even lifeless instruments like the flute or the harp must play the notes clearly, or no one will recognize the melody. And if the bugler doesn’t sound a clear call, how will the soldiers know they are being called to battle? It’s the same for you. If you speak to people in words they don’t understand, how will they know what you are saying? You might as well be talking into empty space. 1 Corinthians 14:7-9 NLT

This Scripture is about speaking in tongues without interpretation, but the logic is the same. Where is the clear trumpet sound from our leaders? No wonder the nation is so angry. Recently, I heard the Lord say that anger is on the surface, but the real emotion is a deep visceral fear gripping many. Even President Roosevelt said: “The only thing we have to fear, is fear itself.” That was clear and to the point. This President won’t even name the enemy.

For God has not given us a spirit of fear and timidity, but of power, love, and self-discipline. 2 Timothy 1:7 NLT

We should always pray for our leaders, and especially in this election year. Here is the Bible definition of a Holy Spirit leader, referring to the Messiah. Let’s pray for this Spirit for our leaders.

And the Spirit of Yehovah will rest on him—the Spirit of wisdom and understanding, the Spirit of counsel and might, the Spirit of knowledge and the fear of Yehovah. Isaiah 11:2 NLT

US Admin says Jerusalem Not in Israel

This is a serious slap in the face to Israel, but even more to the God of Israel. I tremble when I think of the possible repercussions to America. This is as big in my eyes as the US pressure for Israel to withdraw from Gaza that led to Hurricane Katrina and the collapse of Ariel Sharon.

Last month I wrote several blogs about President Obama refusing to meet “face to face” with PM Netanyahu until after the Iran deal. It was about God’s judgments getting personal. That was followed by a serious humiliation to the President who called a major summit of six Arab Gulf states and four of the six refused to meet “face to face,” including Saudi Arabia. That was personal.

This action of the US Supreme Court siding with President Obama and overturning the Law of the US Congress is a national shame. Therefore I am very concerned that we will quickly see a national judgment. What audacity! What gives us the right to tell Israel where their capital should be? Since it is a governmental decision from our capital city rejecting Israel’s capital city (and God’s chosen city) it may come as a direct judgment on Washington, DC. Pray for mercy!

God is Not Mocked

Arab summit 5-15Today, President Obama is hosting a humiliating “Summit of Arab Leaders” in Washington, DC. The problem is that six heads of government were invited and only two showed up. (This is a follow-up to my two-part commentary of March 28 and March 30 where I pointed out that by publicly dishonoring the Prime Minister of Israel, President Obama would reap what he sowed.)

Our President had petulantly announced to the world that he would not meet Israeli PM Netanyahu face to face again until the Iran talks were over because Netanyahu would always just “vent” about Iran. So today, the King of Saudi Arabia is not meeting face to face with President Obama. Experts attribute this to the Saudi displeasure with the Iran deal.

The most notable absence from the meeting is Saudi King Salman. On Sunday, Saudi Arabia announced that the king was skipping the summit, just two days after the White House said he was coming…The White House and Saudi officials insist the king is not snubbing Obama. But Salman’s conspicuous absence comes amid indisputable signs of strain in the long relationship between the US and Saudi Arabia, driven not only by Obama’s Iran overtures, but also the rise of Islamic State militants and a lessening US dependency on Saudi oil. Leaders of Gulf nations to embarrass Obama, skip US summit; administration denies ‘snub’
Experts seem to agree that it is humiliating to the President. The White House tried to spin a different interpretation, but failed. I am amazed at how quickly this came back against President Obama. My point was simply that some of God’s judgments are national, but some are very personal. The personal dishonor directed against Israel’s Prime Minister indeed came back as personal dishonor to President Obama.

Therefore, I repeat this immutable truth of Scripture.

When God’s Judgments Get Personal #2

Time Magazine’s new cover story highlights the comparison with today’s riots in Baltimore, Ferguson and elsewhere with the race riots in 1968. But this has been spiritually decreed by President Obama. For several years now he has demanded that Israel accept the “1967 borders” via a two-state solution. (I wrote about it in 2011, here.)He demands that Israel go back to the borders BEFORE the June ’67 Six Day War. Those were not borders then, but the armistice lines from 1949 at the end of Israel’s Independence War.

In decreeing a return to 1967, President Obama spoke the actual judgment, not on Israel, but on the United States. In my previous post I quoted Genesis 12:3. By demanding Israel accept the indefensible lines of 1967, he has opened the door for the US to face racial violence not seen since 1967-68.

But there is an even more serious personal consequence. By declaring he will not see Netanyahu face to face until after an Iran agreement, the President has sounded perilously close to the Pharaoh of Egypt during the Exodus. Consider this text:

But Yehovah hardened Pharaoh’s heart, and he would not let them go. Then Pharaoh said to him, “Get away from me! Take heed to yourself and see my face no more! For in the day you see my face you shall die!” So Moses said, “You have spoken well. I will never see your face again.” Exodus 10:27-29
I am not making this up. Will President Obama ever meet face to face with Prime Minister Netanyahu again? Read it for yourself. Does it apply to the present standoff? I don’t know, but it is eerily similar, and we need to pray for mercy!

When God’s Judgments Get Personal

For years I have understood a principle of God’s judgments on America. We know that God promised to defend Israel:

“I will bless those who bless you, and I will curse him who curses you; and in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed.” Genesis 12:3

Since the US is a democracy, we are responsible for those whom we elect. When our officials stand against Israel, the entire country reaps the consequences. This has been itemized quite clearly in an excellent book, Eye T0 Eye, by William Koenig.

However, there is a different standard when it gets personal. President Obama has gone beyond the pale in his personal vendetta against Israel and Prime Minister Netanyahu. Our President is not observing international protocol in his personal attacks. How ironic that he accused the Prime Minister of violating protocol by accepting the invitation to speak to Congress. Now the hypocrisy is exposed.

Because President Obama has made it so personal, I believe he will personally suffer God’s displeasure.

Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap. Galatians 6:7

Please understand that I am not cursing anyone! There are simply Biblical truths that play out by themselves, like gravity. What goes up, must come down. You don’t apply gravity, you experience it. So it is with sowing and reaping. Three facts are clear with sowing.

1. You always reap what you sow.

2. You always reap later than you sow.

3. You always reap more that you sow.

I am genuinely concerned about the fruit of our President’s anger with Benjamin Netanyahu. We need to pray for God’s mercy and understanding. Don’t be caught off guard by truth.

Pray for the peace of Jerusalem!

Commander of the Straw Man Army

Dry Bones Israel TiedPresident Obama is adept at using a “straw man” to shift an argument, from the real issue to one he can easily refute. It is a form of sleight of hand. He has made an international incident over the invitation for Israel’s Prime Minister to address a joint session of Congress on March 3.

A straw man is a common type of argument and is an informal fallacy based on the misrepresentation of an opponent’s argument. To be successful, a straw man argument requires that the audience be ignorant or uninformed of the original argument. The so-called typical “attacking a straw man” argument creates the illusion of having completely refuted or defeated an opponent’s proposition by covertly replacing it with a different proposition (i.e., “stand up a straw man”) and then to refute or defeat that false argument (“knock down a straw man”) instead of the original proposition. Perhaps my thoughts will inspire someone to produce an analysis of the President’s use of the straw man. Today I want to use the example of PM Netanyahu’s speech to Congress. Speaker Boehner is accused of some horrific “breach of protocol” for inviting the PM without informing the White House. Even if conceding a breach occurred, it certainly did not rise to the level of an international incident (which the President has created). Leaving aside the contentious relationship the President has developed with our closest Middle East ally, there is a simple answer to why he chose this battle at this time.

It is not about protocol. It’s about Iran. The US is forcing a bad agreement that will allow Iran to still end up with nuclear weapons. This threatens the very existence of Israel. Netanyahu will make the case to Congress. Given their recent advances in ICBM technology, now the US is in range.

Congress wants to vote more sanctions against Iran. The Democrats want to postpone the vote till after the negotiations on March 24. The President does not want Congress or the American people to hear the Israeli objections till after the deal is done.

A second straw man was also used. The President says the speech is too close too Israel’s elections. Yet, the National Field Director of the President’s 2012 re-election campaign is now working for the Israeli opposition, in an effort to unseat Prime Minister Netanyahu. The hypocrisy is breathtaking.

President Obama, VP Biden and Secretary Kerry all refuse to even meet with the Prime Minister while he is in Washington. Now, Vice President Biden will not even attend the speech, because “The Vice President’s office expects that the vice president will be traveling abroad during the joint session of Congress,” a US official said. 

UPDATE! Biden Meets Herzog in Munich A day after announcing he would boycott PM Netanyahu’s speech, Vice President Joe Biden met Israeli opposition leader MK Yitzhak Herzog in Munich. Not influencing the election???

Finally, there is a growing boycott of the speech by Democrats. What in the world is going on with this Administration? Is the Democratic Party turning against Israel?

“Behold, I will make Jerusalem a cup of drunkenness to all the surrounding peoples, when they lay siege against Judah and Jerusalem. Concern for America

2012_05_Holy_Spirit_Reveals_TruthToday’s post is simple. I am concerned for America. A story broke this week that raises a major question on the direction of this present Administration.

Report: The White House Imposed Strict New Arms Controls on Israel in Midst of Gaza Fighting

In the middle of Israel’s latest war with Hamas the White House instructed the Pentagon to halt weapons transfers to the IDF without first obtaining express permission for each transaction from “policy makers” in the administration, The Wall Street Journal reported Thursday.

The shift in policy came after the White House learned the Israelis were restocking their weapons supplies through a previously established military-to-military relationship and were on the verge of receiving an order of various munitions including tank shells, and a “large number” of Hellfire missiles which were already located in a U.S. military stockpile in Israel.

The White House demanded the Pentagon cease such arms shipments to the IDF and begin seeking permission for each individual shipment in the future, according to the Wall Street Journal. The Blaze.com

This was illustrated,sadly, by a “combative” phone call on Friday between President Obama and Prime Minister Netanyahu. This has been happening all too often for many months in calls, meetings and other communications.

Brothers and sisters, many dangerous decisions have been documented lately. But the continued growing separation between the White House and Israel threatens our own security and the blessing of God on America. We studied Romans chapter nine in our home group last night. There is a concept in verses seventeen eighteen that is sobering to consider.

For the Scripture says to the Pharaoh, “For this very purpose I have raised you up, that I may show My power in you, and that My name may be declared in all the earth.”  Therefore He has mercy on whom He wills, and whom He wills He hardens. Romans 9:17-18

The scary part is the example of Pharaoh. At first, when Moses came, Pharaoh hardened his own heart as he refused God’s message. However, after several stages and plagues, he became so hard in his rebellion that God hardened him! Therefore, I am concerned for America because I see our President hardening his heart toward God’s purpose for Israel. I do not pray for God’s hardening. I pray for a total turn around towards Israel before it is too late.

Yes! and No! No! No!

There are two sides of the coin in Israel. One side is Yes! Israel’s restoration continues by the Hand of God, as seen in Netanyahu’s report of the past year. The No! side of the coin is Palestinian President Abbas’ recent meeting with President Obama.

The YES! Factor: Last Tuesday marked the end of the first year of the formation of Israel’s 33rd Knesset Government. “Today, we are marking exactly one year since the government was formed,” remarked Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu on Tuesday. “We have built up Israel’s security in the face of regional turmoil, and the Israeli economy has continued to grow more than the economies of the world which are still dealing with an economic crisis.”

Speaking about the security situation in Israel’s south, which was peppered by over 100 rockets from terrorists in Gaza last week, Netanyahu noted that in 2013, “in the wake of Operation Pillar of Defense, quiet – of a kind unknown in a decade – has prevailed” in the south.

Netanyahu added “there will be no trickle of rockets. My policy is clear: Any firing of rockets will be met with an immediate and sharp response.”

Among the achievements highlighted in the video is the investment of 12.8 billion shekels ($3.7 billion) in national transportation infrastructures, the sealing of Israel’s Sinai border to totally block illegal infiltration, a 3.3% GDP growth which ranks among the highest in the world, and one of the lowest unemployment rates in the world at 6.2%.

Indeed, a recent comprehensive research study measuring various factors ranked Israel the tenth most powerful nation in the world.

Silicon Valley and Silicon Wadi: Two weeks ago, Netanyahu signed a cooperation agreement with the state of California. At the signing he called for a direct airline route connecting San Francisco and Tel Aviv to link “silicon valley and silicon wadi (valley),” which he praised as “the most powerful hubs of innovation on the planet.” Arutz Sheva

The NO! NO! NO! Factor: In the meantime, PA President Abbas met with President Obama and flatly stated three absolutes.

TV report: Abbas said ‘no’ to Obama on 3 core peace issues: Rejecting Kerry framework, Palestinian leader reportedly told US president he won’t recognize ‘Jewish Israel,’ abandon ‘right of return,’ or commit to ‘end of conflict’.

On his trip to Washington this week, Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas rejected US Secretary of State John Kerry’s framework document for continued peace talks with Israel, and issued “three no’s” on core issues, leaving the negotiations heading for an explosive collapse, an Israeli TV report said Friday.

Specifically, the report said, Abbas rejected Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s demand that he recognize Israel as a Jewish state. He also refused to abandon the Palestinian demand for a “right of return” for millions of Palestinians and their descendants — a demand that, if implemented, would drastically alter Israel’s demographic balance and which no conceivable Israeli government would accept. And finally, he refused to commit to an “end of conflict,” under which a peace deal would represent the termination of any further Palestinian demands of Israel.

Since Abbas rejected the Kerry framework for extending the talks, the TV report said, the negotiations were now heading for an “explosion.” Arutz Sheva

New Israeli Government Welcomes Obama

Obama in Israel “Unbreakable Alliance” is the official logo to welcome US President Obama to Israel on Wednesday. The new Israeli government was voted in by the Knesset at 6 pm today, only 54 hours before the first Obama visit to Israel as President.

Prime Minister Netanyahu will preside over a stable government united in its stance toward Iran’s nuclear threats, the expected “Topic One” for this summit.

The President will be in the area from Wednesday through Friday, also meeting with Palestinian Authority leader Abbas in Ramallah. A detailed chronological itinerary is available here for your intercessory prayer points.

Obama Mideast-Israel-Palest_Horo-1-140x140All is not rosy, however. A poster of President Obama was torn down in Bethlehem on Monday and defaced with swastikas and an “X” over his face. Later an official Palestinian car drove over it in protest. Shoes were thrown at other posters in acts of disrespect common in Arab culture. (On a personal note: Now that we have nine chickens, and I have helped clean the coop, I understand the not so subtle offense intended by the bottom of the shoe tossed at an enemy.)

This week is full of prophetic significance. Israel’s future does not hang in the balance; God’s favor and future for Israel is etched in stone. It is America’s future that is unsure. How we treat Israel will be the absolute determining factor according to the real “unbreakable alliance” between Yehovah God and Israel:

And it shall come to pass that just as you were a curse among the nations, O house of Judah and house of Israel, So I will save you, and you shall be a blessing. Do not fear, Let your hands be strong. Zechariah 8:13

Voting for Israel

Many believers manage to suspend their principles when they step into the voting booth. This is wrong. We must vote the Bible. I vote pro-life. I vote pro Biblical marriage. And an uppermost criteria…I vote Israel. It must be stated that many Democrats are pro-Israel, but in this year’s presidential ballot there is a stark contrast.

President Obama speaks some good things about Israel, but his actions have been the opposite. We cannot judge by words. He has alienated our best friends in the Middle East, while directly encouraging the Muslim Brotherhood, who are sweeping into power throughout the region.

Meanwhile, a highly respected annual list in Israel names the most pro-Israel non-Jewish leaders in the world. Topping the 2012 listing was Mitt Romney, the US Presidential Candidate:

Love or hate his politics, Romney’s vocal support for Israel as a contender for the world’s top job, has challenged the incumbent and many Americans to rediscover their own understanding of the United States’ special relationship with the Jewish state.

His tough stance on Iran has put the Ayatollahs on notice.  In his recent trip to the Holy Land, he acknowledged Jerusalem as Israel’s capital and cited the historic connection of the Jewish people with the land, which has gone a long way in underlining the Jewish narrative regarding Israel on the world stage, thereby earning him the top spot this year.  the algemeiner

Following Romney on the list are Rupert Murdoch, CEO of News Corp, Stephen Harper, Prime Minister of Canada, and Manmohan Singh, Prime Minister of India.

Romney’s declaration of Jerusalem as Israel’s Capital challenged the diplomatic world which refuses to recognize the obvious. This weekend Romney again spoke against the diplomatic tide: U.S. presidential hopeful Mitt Romney blasts Obama on Iran, says America must lead the world in stopping ‘genocidal regime.’ Speaking after Ahmadinejad called Israel a “cancerous tumor that must be excised,” he said Obama had failed to prevent Iran from moving forward with its nuclear program. “America must lead the world in stopping Iran’s genocidal regime from obtaining a nuclear weapons capability,” he declared. His running mate Congressman Ryan said, “Under President Romney our adversaries will think twice about challenging America and our allies because we believe in peace through strength. There will be no daylight between America and our friends around the world.”

Vice Presidential Candidate, Paul Ryan, has long been considered pro-Israel:  America has no better friend in the Middle East than the nation of Israel. Not only is Israel the region’s only fully functioning democracy, with a government based on popular consent and the rule of law, but it is also a valuable ally against Islamic extremism and terrorism. He’s been the co-sponsor of no less than 5 pro-Israel bills and resolutions, and puts the issue “Israel” under the category “Homeland Security” on his Congressional website.

If you still struggle to justify voting please consider the Biblical counsel to “give unto Caesar” and to act on our faith. This is not a time to vote “present”, it is time to wake up, stand up, speak up and vote the Bible!

The President’s Hat

(Today’s guest post is from Bob Jones, a respected prophetic voice. This word resonates with me in our earnest prayers for mercy on our land.)

The President’s Hat Blows Away

The wind of the Holy Spirit will cause the hat of the President to blow away. The cover of the president and his administration will be blown. Then all things done in secret will be cast down and will not stand.

For they sow the wind and they shall reap the whirlwind. (Hosea 8:7a)

The truth is coming forth by the Spirit of God. It is the only thing that will have answers for this nation. It will come forth when we repent like Daniel did for the sins of his nation. The sins of our government will be revealed so repentance can be made and the Lord can release mercy to this nation. America is a great nation and God desires for her to survive. She can only survive when the truth is revealed to the people. This is the year the people will know the truth. If they seek the truth they will find it and the truth will set this nation free.

Nothing is [so closely] covered up that it will not be revealed, or hidden that it will not be known. (Luke 12:2)

The canopy of God is love and this nation must return to its first love. America must repent and return to her first love. When she does God will release His canopy of love to her.

The Secret Service literally put their life on the line to cover and protect the president. To this I add my own observation that we are fast approaching the great time of decision for America’s Jewish community according to Ezekiel 20.

“As I live,” says the Lord Yehovah, “surely with a mighty hand, with an outstretched arm, and with fury poured out, I will rule over you. I will bring you out from the peoples and gather you out of the countries where you are scattered, with a mighty hand, with an outstretched arm, and with fury poured out. And I will bring you into the wilderness of the peoples, and there I will plead My case with you face to face. Just as I pleaded My case with your fathers in the wilderness of the land of Egypt, so I will plead My case with you,” says the Lord Yehovah.

 “I will make you pass under the rod, and I will bring you into the bond of the covenant; I will purge the rebels from among you, and those who transgress against Me; I will bring them out of the country where they dwell, but they shall not enter the land of Israel. Adjective: (of a person) Lacking in efficiency or vitality.

Unthinking and irresponsible.

Synonyms: powerless – ineffective – helpless

This word is being used more and more frequently lately to describe the quality of leadership coming from the US Administration. I just thought you would like to know the dictionary definition. It is our choice. That is why we hold elections.

Therefore I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men, for kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence. For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, 1 Timothy 2:1-3

Don’t Feed the Animals

The food stamp program, part of the Department of Agriculture, is pleased to be distributing the greatest amount of food stamps ever in its history.

Meanwhile, the Park Service, also part of the Department of Agriculture, asks us to “Please Do Not Feed the Animals,” because the animals may grow dependent and not learn to take care of themselves. (Thanks to Dave McCurdy for this.)

Does anyone notice a disconnect here?

This bothers me on three levels. First, is the obvious fact that our government is systematically creating total dependence on its services. Between welfare and government employees, 50% of Americans now depend directly on the government for their “daily bread”. The transfer from depending on God to man is breathtakingly arrogant, and is accelerating.

Second, this creates a “demanding spirit”. Derek Prince, Bible teacher and mentor, used a profound phrase: “You can never satisfy a demanding spirit”. A genuine, sincere request can be answered. But once people get something for nothing, they always want more. Hell and Destruction are never full; So the eyes of man are never satisfied. Proverbs 27:20 There is a satanic spirit behind the demands. It is also illustrated in the demands of terrorists. All attempts to meet their demands are only answered with more demands. Appeasement is a dead end.

Third, never cast your pearls before swine. Jesus taught, that not valuing your gestures, they would turn and attack you! Don’t waste what is holy on people who are unholy. Don’t throw your pearls to pigs! They will trample the pearls, then turn and attack you. Matthew 7:6

There is a place for food stamps for truly needy people, but it should have the goal of independence rather than unending dependence. The same can be said of nearly unlimited unemployment benefits. There are now operational plans where the benefits lead to actual employment. For even when we were with you, we commanded you this: If anyone will not work, neither shall he eat. 2 Thessalonians 3:10

Freedom of Religion Aborted

President Barack Obama regularly bypasses the basic US Constitution intentionally. His record of appointing czars (without seeking congressional confirmation), suing states, questionable executive orders, selling guns to Mexican cartels and of course, Obamacare itself, are not accidental. He is openly fulfilling his stated agenda which is to “fundamentally transform America.”

Now, a new frontal assault on freedom of religion. And, yes, this is written after his “accommodation.”

There is no shred of difference between the two policies. If the religious entity must pay for insurance that includes mandates in direct conflict with its official church faith, it is totally meaningless to suggest that they are not paying directly for the coverage. The insurance company will absolutely include its cost to provide the extra mandate in the overall cost of insurance to the church. There is no option for the church to buy from another provider, because it is mandated that all companies include the “free” coverage.

Also, it makes no difference if we were talking about providing aspirin instead of contraceptives. “It’s the mandate, stupid!” If aspirin was against church faith, the government cannot force them to pay for its provision in insurance. This is why the issue is freedom of religion and not women’s rights. The same mandate issue frames the unconstitutionality of Obamacare.

The original pioneers to America came to escape religious persecution and to find freedom to practice their various faiths without government interference. Have we forgotten that the European world 300 years ago was controlled by state churches? They killed people who did not belong to the state church, or at least made them second class citizens. Freedom of religion must be understood in that context. It means freedom to practice religion without government control (or MANDATES).

It just happens to be the very first clause in the very first amendment:

AMENDMENT I

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

Mandating coverage, even in the President’s “accommodation,” directly prohibits the free exercise of religion. End of story.

Thank God for the many leaders of several faiths who are awake to the threat and who will resist this cancellation of our basic rights. We are in an ideological war. Wake up and smell the coffee. Now is the time for all good men to come to the aid of their country.

Gold For Oil

While no one was looking, India decided to ignore the embargo on Iran’s oil sales by buying directly with gold payments. Oil markets are stunned! This has the potential for totally collapsing the US economy and probably the entire western world economic system. Here is a DEBKAfile Exclusive Report:

India is the first buyer of Iranian oil to agree to pay for its purchases in gold instead of the US dollar, debkafile’s intelligence and Iranian sources report exclusively.  Those sources expect China to follow suit. India and China take about one million barrels per day, or 40 percent of Iran’s total exports of 2.5 million bpd. Both are superpowers in terms of gold assets. 

By trading in gold, New Delhi and Beijing enable Tehran to bypass the upcoming freeze on its central bank’s assets and the oil embargo which the European Union’s foreign ministers agreed to impose Monday, Jan. 23. The EU currently buys around 20 percent of Iran’s oil exports.

The vast sums involved in these transactions are expected, furthermore, to boost the price of gold and depress the value of the dollar on world markets. (Read full article here)

The last phrase is the point. If oil goes off the dollar standard, the US loses one of its most important international positions. It is another result of the failure of the US Administration to  project strength. Weakness instead, has produced this crises and put us on the brink of economic chaos.

Two examples illustrate my point. First, every time President Obama tries to “talk” to Iran it only buys them more time to pursue their agenda, both for oil, and for nuclear weapons. Second, our President refuses to allow the new Keystone XL oil pipeline to connect Canadian oil to Houston, further weakening our global position. Canada would sell their oil to China if we default on the pipeline. We have enough oil and natural gas to completely stop buying Middle East oil. 20,000 Missing Missiles

20,000 Heat-Seeking Missiles Reportedly Feared Missing From Libyan Warehouse (Fox News) While you were sleeping, a waking nightmare began. “Matching up a terrorist with a shoulder-fired missile, that’s our worst nightmare,” Sen. Barbara Boxer, D-Calif., told ABCNews.com. One of the inevitable effects of deposing Gaddafi in Libya was the loosing of multiple thousands of weapons from his arsenal. These weapons are now finding their way into terrorist hands throughout the Middle East. This even includes Hamas in Gaza as reported by DEBKAfile: Egypt uncovers Libyan SA-24 anti-air missiles and sea mines bound for Gaza.

 The missiles, (link to ABC Nightline video), four to six-feet long and Russian-made, can weigh just 55 pounds with launcher. They lock on to the heat generated by the engines of aircraft, can be fired from a vehicle or from a combatant’s shoulder, and are accurate and deadly at a range of more than two miles.

Meanwhile, back in the Arab Spring, an ominous warning was just issued by the Military leader of the rebels in Tripoli, Libya. Libya’s Islamist groups “will not allow” secular politicians to exclude or marginalise them in the intensifying battle for power in the post-Gaddafi era, the country’s most powerful Islamist leader has said. Abdel Hakim Belhaj, head of the Tripoli Military Council and founder of a jihadi group that was later disbanded, appears to be firing a shot across the bows of liberal, western-backed rivals after negotiations over broadening the rebel administration foundered. Libyan Islamists must have share in power, warns leader.

Naturally, with this ominous development, you would expect the Obama Administration to be all over it. But what is the big warning coming out of the State Department this week? Israel is building 1,100 new homes in their Capital and the US calls it: “counterproductive” and “deeply disappointing.” Yes, that is much more disturbing than 20,000 shoulder fired missiles on the loose. Those “impudent” Israeli’s are trying to build more homes in Jerusalem! Why won’t they do what the Obama Administration demands? Pray courage for Prime Minister Netanyahu to withstand the pressure.

Therefore, shall we trust God or shall we fear? It is our choice. The Bible is full of wonderful promises of His protection. We must pray for the peace of Jerusalem and all of God’s people who love the truth. We know that the truth is a person, Yeshua ben Yehovah; Jesus, Son of God. Here is one of my favorite promise passages.

Yehovah is my light and my salvation—so why should I be afraid? Yehovah is my fortress, protecting me from danger, so why should I tremble? When evil people come to devour me, when my enemies and foes attack me, they will stumble and fall. Though a mighty army surrounds me, my heart will not be afraid. Even if I am attacked, I will remain confident. The one thing I ask of Yehovah—the thing I seek most—is to live in the house of Yehovah all the days of my life, delighting in Yehovah’s perfections and meditating in his Temple. For he will conceal me there when troubles come; he will hide me in his sanctuary. He will place me out of reach on a high rock. Psalm 27:1-5 NLT

September Surprise?

In politics there is often an October surprise in national elections. We are a year away from that, but this month is bursting with potential big news stories of prophetic importance. Last month I included a list but have since added to it. This post will comment on each of these with links to the background stories.

We have now passed the end of Ramadan with no major issues. The political season takes off this month with Sarah Palin giving substantial details of her solutions on major issues, without announcing her candidacy as yet. (Doreen and I attended a Tea Party Express event in Manchester, NH where Sarah Palin spoke and Doreen was interviewed.) Earlier Palin articulated her support for Israel and laid out her view of America’s military role in the world. There will be five debates in the next six weeks that will winnow out the field beginning tonight. Thursday night the President will kick off his re-election campaign before a joint session of Congress with his latest speech on jobs.

Sunday we observe the 10th anniversary of 9-11 in NYC with clergy banned and Muslims declaring that they will intentionally make noise during the moments of silence. The Egyptian elections which will bring the Muslim Brotherhood to power have been delayed until at least November. As the US Congress comes into session today, expect fireworks over the national debt and the budget.

The United Nations Palmer Commission report came out this week essentially vindicating Israel in the Flotilla incident last year. It concluded that Israel’s blockade of Gaza is legal under international law. Another UN event is the September 22 Durban III Conference purporting to be anti-racism but offering a declaration condemning only one country, Israel, as racist. To their credit, 9 countries have withdrawn.

New York’s 9th Congressional District (Brooklyn and Queens) is gearing up for the September 13,     2011 special election to fill the seat vacated by disgraced Democrat Anthony Weiner. The big news here is that a Republican is leading.

An event planned for New York City on September 17, has been overlooked. Who Is Behind the ‘US Day of Rage’ to ‘Occupy’ Wall Street? Read the background here. The poster invites protestors to bring their tents for a prolonged demonstration.

September is when the “don’t ask, don’t tell” restrictions will be officially lifted in our military and homosexuals will get the special, privileged status they have so long sought. Also, a Jerusalem Gay parade is set for Sept. 21. What a month!

All of the above events are prophetic, but the most serious of all these is the Palestine vote at the UN after September 19. Many nations are already committed to vote that a Palestinian state be unilaterally imposed, without Israel’s involvement. The US indicates it will veto, but we must pray hard until then. Either way, a new intifada in inevitable. If they lose the vote they will rebel; if they win, they will oppose Israel’s security and rebel. Add to this a “million man march” into Israel at this same time frame and a new flotilla to “free Gaza”. Wow! There is even a comet showing up at the end of the month which some believe is a sign of the last days of the age.

Finally, the most important date of the month is the Feast of Trumpets at sundown on the 27th. As Israelis and Jews everywhere are joined by many Christian Zionists to observe the Feast of Tabernacles, Yehovah God may have the biggest surprise of all. Then Yehovah spoke to Moses, saying, “Speak to the children of Israel, saying: ‘In the seventh month, on the first day of the month, you shall have a sabbath-rest, a memorial of blowing of trumpets, a holy convocation. You shall do no customary work on it; and you shall offer an offering made by fire to Yehovah.’ ” Leviticus 23:23-25

How Obama Lost 2012

Thirty of our best warriors shot down in flames! How should we react? We grieved the loss, but why did it happen? Was it just a lucky shot by the Taliban? Was it God’s fault? Is it ridiculous to consider God in this tragedy? Does the Bible ever apply in real life situations today?

Much has been written about the excessive personal credit taken by President Obama reporting Osama bin Laden’s death. (Compare with President Bush on the capture of Saddam Hussein). We know it was Navy Seals Team 6 that got Osama. How quickly the same team makes headlines again, this time in the spectacular loss of 22 of their own.

There is an eerily appropriate comparison in the Bible when Joshua led Israel into the Promised Land. Jericho fell without a shot, through the fear of Yehovah, as He gave supernatural victory. However one Israelite, named Achan, kept some of the spoil that God had banned. Achan coveted the gold and silver and hid it in his tent. You discover in the reading of Joshua 7 that Israel lost 36 men in their next battle against a weaker city, Ai.

Joshua’s response was to fall on his face before God inquiring what happened and God answered: Israel has sinned, and they have also transgressed My covenant which I commanded them. For they have even taken some of the accursed things, and have both stolen and deceived; and they have also put it among their own stuff. Joshua 7:11

I see this parallel with our loss of 30 troops, including 22 from Seal Team 6. We should repent and ask God what happened. Setting aside the literal idea of a Seal stealing something from Osama’s compound, I see a major sin of personal pride in the way our President took too much personal credit. One could make the case that he stole the glory that should have been given in thanks to Yehovah God. Pride goes before destruction, and a haughty spirit before a fall. Proverbs 16:18. Let the Holy Spirit bear witness. This is more than politics. It is also not about one speech, but a pattern of arrogance laced throughout the Obama presidency. It is about our nation’s future and the nature of leadership. Jesus was clear about His attitude: The Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many. Matthew 20:28

If President Obama is not re-elected, he will have no one to blame but himself.

Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus, who, being in the form of God, did not consider it robbery to be equal with God, but made Himself of no reputation, taking the form of a bondservant, and coming in the likeness of men. Philippians 2:5-7. 

Let all who follow Jesus have the same attitude Jesus had.
