Israel…Is…Real

Once upon a time we could assume that a Jew would naturally support the survival of the Jewish State. Once upon a time we suspected all Christians of being secret antisemites. Well, those days are gone forever! Here’s hoping that President Trump appoints a dedicated Zionist to the post of Ambassador to Israel, and that does not necessarily mean a Jew. (comments by Yaachov Kirschen, Israeli cartoonist who has drawn Dry Bones since 1973)

I have enjoyed the Dry Bones cartoons almost from the beginning. It is such a joy for me to see Mr Kirschen recognizing the major change in evangelical Christendom from replacement theology to openly Zionist. I have never met him, but consider him a true friend, due to the common bond of Zionism. He knows that all Christians are not Zionists, and that it is also true that not all Jews are Zionists. I applaud him for his honesty. Keep up the great work!

On a related point, consider the hypocrisy of one of Israel’s main political parties. They have changed their name from Labor to the Zionist Party; yet, they are anti-Zionist. They are in favor of dividing the land for a two-state solution. (By the way… been there – done that! The land dedicated by Britain for a Jewish state was already divided to create a Palestinian state. That is how we got Jordan. Now they want to divide the land again for another Palestinian state!) The “Zionist Party” is just the opposite. They are co-opting the term to confuse things.

My view is clear. The only solution that will bring peace is annexation of Judea and Samaria (West Bank). As I wrote in a recent blog, if you want your prayers answered, pray what Yehovah God has already said He is going to do.

“For behold, in those days and at that time, when I bring back the captives of Judah and Jerusalem, I will also gather all nations, and bring them down to the Valley of Jehoshaphat; and I will enter into judgment with them there on account of My people, My heritage Israel, whom they have scattered among the nations; they have also divided up My land.” Joel 3:1-2

Why This is the Last Generation

Many who will read my prophetic commentary will consider this for the first time. There are multiple possible scenarios leading to the conclusion that we are living in the last generation of time as we know it. Some scenarios are clearly man-made events. Many believe that the planet’s population will reach a breaking point. Others cite climate change or disease or a wayward comet causing the end of the world. And, of course, world war is always a threat.

However, I offer two Bible prophesies which indicate the last generation in clear terms, one each from the Old and New Testaments. Please accept my submission for your prayerful consideration. If you agree with me, it will affect not only your world view, but your perspective on eternity.

So, first let me stipulate that I believe the Bible and take it literally when possible. Therefore, the two perspectives are based not on the reasoning of man, but on the truth of Scriptural revelation. In this post I can only state my case. For an in-depth analysis read my book Generation LAST.

#1. The “Generation Last.” Psalm 102 is a prophecy that only made sense after 1945. The first ten verses are an exact graphic picture of the Holocaust of WW II. Verse 13 is the turning point where God says the set time to favor Zion has come. History bears witness to the fact, with modern Israel appearing in 1948. God turned the page from judgement of the Jewish people, to favor and restoration. Then comes the surprising revelation of verse 18. This is the confirmation verse of the timing of the earlier passage. Notice that the English translation is quite nebulous.

This will be written for the generation to come, that a people yet to be created may praise the LORD. Psalm 102:18

Some translations say “a future generation.” However, the Hebrew phrase used is narrowly specific: “dor acharon.” It literally means “the generation last.” You can see for yourself on the link to the verse (above). Just look at the Hebrew definition.

This Psalm makes perfect sense as a prophecy, with the benefit of 20/20 hindsight of recent history. The Psalm had a moderate value for comfort over the millennia, but blossomed into fulfillment in our generation…the last generation!

#2 This generation will not pass away. Matthew 24, Luke 21 and Mark 13 record what scholars call the Olivet Discourse, the teaching of Jesus on the Mount of Olives. Jesus is answering the most burning question of the ages: “When are you coming back?” When you pour over these chapters you will find that none of the signs He gives are time specific, except one. Most of His signs appear in every generation to some degree. What is the only one that is tied to time? It is His prophecy about Jerusalem. Jesus prophesied both the destruction of Jerusalem (fulfilled in 70 AD), and the restoration of Jerusalem (fulfilled in June, 1967). Once again we have the benefit of being on the other side of fulfilled prophecy. The clincher is in Luke 21. First He speaks of the city’s destruction and the scattering of the Jews to all nations, leaving Jerusalem in the hands of the Gentiles. until their time to rule the city is finished.

And they will fall by the edge of the sword, and be led away captive into all nations. And Jerusalem will be trampled by Gentiles until the times of the Gentiles are fulfilled. Luke 21:24

But then, Jesus speaks of the fig tree as a symbol of Israel’s restoration. Those who “see” these things happening, including the specific return of Jerusalem to Israeli sovereignty, will be alive for the Messiah’s appearance! The time for Gentile rule of Jerusalem is done.

So you also, when you see these things happening, know that the kingdom of God is near. Assuredly, I say to you, this generation will by no means pass away till all things take place. Luke 21:31-32

This was fulfilled in our generation! It is now history. The most important question remaining is: “Are you ready?” Scholars disagree on the length of a generation, but I think it is one hundred years. If so, He could come very soon. I am so excited and filled with anticipation of all the events falling into place. What a great honor that we are blessed to live in this day.

Hashtag: “Israel is Burning”

Hashtag ‘Israel is burning’ — used primarily to rejoice in the flames — soars to third most popular worldwide: As brush fires raged throughout central and northern Israel on Thursday, forcing tens of thousands of people to evacuate from their homes, an Arabic Twitter hashtag largely rejoicing in the flames soared to become the third most popular worldwide.

Black Friday Means Something Else This Year in Israel While the rest of the world is taking advantage of Black Friday sales, Israelis are trying to keep their country from turning black.

Some reports say that over 600 fires have been started in Israel, more than half by arson. Haifa, a city of 300,000 people, has seen 80,000 evacuated. Other nations have brought in fire fighting planes and equipment to help Israel. Yet, celebration is the response from the Arab world. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s Arabic-language spokesperson, Ofir Gendelman, slammed the celebrations on Arabic social media as “despicable fanatic hatred.” The Arabic hashtag “Israel is burning,” which was utilized primarily to express joy over the wildfires that threatened property and life across the Jewish state, was used in over 128,000 tweets as of Thursday afternoon. The most popular hashtag in Cairo was “the Zionist entity is burning.”

A Saudi imam with 16.1 million followers and a Kuwati preacher with 11.6 million followers were rejoicing and saying it was “Allah’s judgment on Israel for the ban on mosque loudspeakers” (see my last post).

What demonic demogogery! How does Israel deal with such unhinged hate? Demagoguery: an appeal to people that plays on their emotions and prejudices rather than on their rational side.

Keep in mind that the demonic darkness of fanatical Islam considers Israel only the “little Satan,” the US is the “big Satan.” As we pray for Israel, remember that we, too, are targets.

Some Arabs Rejoice Over Israel Fires, Others Shelter Victims But worrying to many Israelis is that if indeed the fires represent a new form of Muslim terror, it may be difficult, if not impossible, to fully bring an end to the blazes without a tremendous amount of rainfall. And all predictions are that this will be a very dry winter.

We must pray for rain! For years, I have been appealing to believers to pray for rain in Israel based on God’s promise of restoration. Please pick up the burden to ask for rain. The enemy is now using the drought as a perverse indication that their god is greater than Yehovah. This is one of those prayers that Yehovah will answer, because we are praying according to His Promise.

Ask Yehovah for rain in the time of the latter rain. Yehovah will make flashing clouds; He will give them showers of rain, grass in the field for everyone. Zechariah 10:1

Act of War?

Here is an odd little story to spice up your holiday.

‘Muezzin Law is a declaration of war’ The Palestinian Authority is warning that Israel’s law to ban loudspeakers for the Muslim call to prayer (5 times daily) is an “act of war.” Really? “The Palestinian Authority leadership blasted a proposed law to ban the use of loudspeakers to broadcast the Muslim call to prayer from mosques across Israel, warning that if passed the law would spark a new war.”

Turkey has also weighed in: Turkey: ‘Muezzin Law’ is an insult “Turkish Deputy Prime Minister says law prohibiting mosques from using loudspeakers is an insult to the history of Jerusalem.”

What is wrong with this picture? Well, for starters, many nations already have a loudspeaker ban in place. This includes Muslim nations such as Egypt, UAE, and Saudi Arabia.

Secondly, Jerusalem has been Israel’s capital for over 3,000 years. Islam has been around less than half that time.

If I forget you, O Jerusalem, Let my right hand forget its skill! If I do not remember you, Let my tongue cling to the roof of my mouth— If I do not exalt Jerusalem above my chief joy. Psalm 137:5-6

Thirdly, why the double standard? If other countries ban loudspeakers under decibel rules, why can’t Israel?

Other Countries Muffle Mosques, But Israel Cannot? (This a great article from Israel Today, my favorite Messianic site.) “Quite the controversy is raging over Israel’s proposed legislation aimed at muffling the five daily Muslim calls to prayer from local mosques. In recent decades, the call of the muezzin has been amplified by multiple loudspeakers, resulting in tremendous noise pollution starting at 4:30 AM every morning.”

Of course the issue is not the new law, it is an excuse for another accusation against Israel. Her enemies continue to demand the elimination of Israel.

UC Berkeley Offers Class in Erasing Jews From Israel, Destroying Jewish State This article reveals a new class at UC Berkeley that was stopped temporarily and then reinstated. The anti-Israel propaganda machine is world-wide, and especially strong on US campuses. We need to pray for our students that they will learn actual history, which will protect them from the lies of revisionist history.

Dates and Numbers from God?

Christians are always trying to guess when Jesus is coming. Even Jews are trying to figure when the Messiah comes. Most agree that it is soon. But today I want to share a few historical dates that project profound events for 2017 and 5777, the Jewish year.

500 years ago Martin Luther started the Protestant Reformation in 1517. He was originally convinced that God was favoring and restoring the Jews. (Later, when they did not convert to Christianity, he was so disappointed that he became a serious anti-Semite, (but that is another story).

150 years ago the Jews of Austria and Hungary were emancipated signalling a change that would spread around the world.

100 years ago Great Britain set in motion the legal rebirth of the State of Israel with the Balfour Declaration of 1917.

50 years ago Israel regained sovereignty over the Old City of Jerusalem during the Six Day War of 1967, for the first time since 70 AD.

What about 2017? So we have 1517, 1867, 1917, and 1967. What do you think about 2017? Is it reasonable to guess that Yehovah may be about to do something big for Israel? We just observed the start of 5777 in the Jewish calendar. Some say this is a year of Jubilee. I can’t confirm that, but each of the 50 year points we have mentioned have surely made history.

The United Muslim Nations (sometimes called the UN) is threatening to declare a Palestinian state without Israel’s agreement. Will God allow it? I don’t think so. The nations have already divided the land in fulfillment of prophecy. Now is the time for Israel to annex Judea and Samaria (West Bank).

UN Revisionism

UNESCO backs resolution ignoring Jewish link to Temple Mount You can’t make this stuff up. Now the United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) has voted to make the Temple Mount in Jerusalem a Muslim holy site exclusively. The decision effectively denies 3,000 years of Jerusalem as the Jewish Capitol. It also claims that the Western Wall is Muslim. What foolishness. The tragedy is that much of the world will believe it. The anti-Semitic anti-Israel propaganda has reached new lows for blatant lies and revisionist history.

Prime Minister Netanyahu understandably reacted strongly. Netanyahu called the decision “absurd,” while President Reuven Rivlin called it an “embarrassment” for UNESCO… “To say that Israel has no link to the Temple Mount is like saying that China has no link to the Great Wall or that Egypt has no connection to the Pyramids,” Netanyahu said, adding that “with this absurd decision UNESCO has lost what little legitimacy it still had.” He also said UNESCO was ignorant regarding the Bible, and accused the body of taking part in a “Theater of the Absurd.” What’s next? A UNESCO decision denying the connection between peanut butter and jelly? Batman and Robin? Rock and roll?

Policy or Personality?

“If you want to make America great again, seek the One who made America great the first time.” (Pastor Ken Lawrence),

My brother is pastor of River of Life Church in Sandpoint, Idaho. His statement sums up the heart of Christians everywhere. Our future is bigger than the candidates in the election. Typical politics make it about personality when it is always really about policy. Folks who opposed the leftist policy agenda of President Obama were accused of racism. The same agenda now touted by Hillary draws accusations of sexism. My prayer is that America will wake up to the “wrong track” reality of that agenda.

Democrats will win and democracy will lose, if we are distracted from’ policy. I challenge every believer reading this to consider the stated goals of the party platforms. One is rooted in Biblical values and the other has moved far left. As a Christian Zionist, Israel policy is at the top of my list. On Israel, the Republican Platform is the most pro-Israel in history, while the Democratic Platform is the most anti-Israel in history. But that is only one issue. The Holy Spirit gave me a verse in February that I first thought was “exposing” Trump. It speaks of pride, arrogance, evil and a perverse mouth. However, I now believe it exposed at a far more insidious evil revealed by the full-throated policy of the Democratic Party. If you are a believer, and you have seriously studied the above chart; can you really vote for their platform? Are you voting for the person or the policy?

Netanyahu Speaks at UN Thursday

Netanyahu: I’ll speak truth to power at United Nations: Prime Minister promises UN will hear Israeli side of the story as he departs for US ahead of meeting with President Obama.

“I will then address the United Nations General Assembly. I will present Israel’s case, Israel’s truth, Israel’s justice and also Israel’s heroism – the heroism of our soldiers, our police officers and our citizens, who are waging an uncompromising struggle against brutal terrorism.”

Israeli Prime Minister will thank President Obama for the new 10-year agreement for military aid when they meet on the sidelines of the UN on Wednesday. It will likely be the last face-to-face meeting in office. Their relationship has not been good. Israel believes either candidate replacing President Obama will be am improvement, although Clinton is viewed as simply a third Obama term. Trump has declared total support for Israel and says he will not impose solutions on Israel. That in itself would be a great advance in mutual trust for both countries.

88 senators urge Obama to uphold veto on ‘one-sided’ UN resolutions: “Even well-intentioned initiatives at the United Nations risk locking the parties into positions that will make it more difficult to return to the negotiating table and make the compromises necessary for peace,” the senators wrote adding that the US “must continue to insist that neither we nor any other outsider substitute for the parties to the conflict.” … The letter came amid concerns and reports that Obama would consider letting the Security Council vote in a resolution deemed unfavorable to Israel, without using the US veto, at some point before he leaves office in January.

Pressure is building from Palestinians and anti-Israel voices in many countries, Muslim and non-Muslim. Even UN Secretary General Ban Ki Moon has joined the chorus: Ban Ki-moon says one-state solution ‘would spell doom’

It is critical for Israel that President Obama not abandon Israel for the sake of his personal legacy. Every President thinks they will be the “savior” of the Middle East by finally bringing peace. But the prideful temptation always leads to sacrificing Israel on the peace altar. We must pray and stand against this potential for the remaining months of the Obama Administration.

It is also critical for the US that we not double-cross Israel. We must bless Israel for their sake and for our own sake. The higher truth than any political or personal agenda is the will and purpose of God. He has declared His choice and favor and we cannot reverse it!

Censoring Trump

There are a growing number of reports about the liberal media openly opposing Donald Trump’s presidential run. The latest example has dangerous implications for Jews, Christians and our American political system. Consider the censorship last Saturday.

Saturday Trump spoke at a black Christian church in Detroit. After he finished speaking, the pastor, Bishop Wayne T. Jackson, presented him with a Talit, a Jewish prayer shawl, along with a Messianic Jewish Bible. As the pastor quoted “with God nothing is impossible,” the video feed suddenly blacked out in mid-sentence.

It turns out that the video feed was cut intentionally by order of the Director of the Reuters News Agency who was providing the single pool feed for all networks. It was done over the objections of the cameraman. I conclude that the topic was rejected by Reuters for three reasons.

It was very positive for Trump to be honored by a black pastor and contradicts the media narrative that no African Americans will vote for him.
The pastor clearly made a connection to honoring Israel and Christians who share common Jewish roots. After the video was cut, the pastor went on to point out that Jesus was a Jew and most of His early followers were Jews. The Scripture being quoted by the pastor was a strong declaration of Christian and Jewish faith that the Director tried to block.

Yehovah vs. the god of Islam

(From the Introduction to The Hebrew God Who Has No Name, just published.)

There is a prophetic context and timing to restoring God’s Name. We are living in the day of the rise of Islam. The name of the god of Islam is shouted every time a suicide bomber attacks innocent civilians. Although presidents and media pretend we all worship the same god, it is a lie from the pit of hell. The God of the Bible is a Father who gave His Son, Jesus, to die in our place, for our sins. The god of Islam is not a father, and demands that his followers give their sons to die for his evil cause. You will see a stark contrast between the God of Israel and the god of Islam when you start using Yehovah’s Name.

This distinction is obscured without understanding the personal names involved. This was seen in the political realm where the Obama administration for eight years refused to name the terrorist enemy as radical Islam. The resulting confusion effectively hamstrung our defensive and offensive efforts to defeat the Islamist threat. Names matter. If we should name our enemy, how much more should we know the Name of Yehovah God, our Creator and Protector?

Furthermore, why would God’s first commandment warn us about “other gods” if we all worship the same God? Please seriously consider the importance of using the personal Name of Yehovah, the living God of the Bible.

My salvation testimony for many years was meeting Jesus as “my own personal savior”. Now, in recent years, I have also come to know Yehovah as “my personal Father” in a deeper, more intimate way. That is my desire for you as well.

Here is Yeshua (Jesus) in His own words declaring this intimacy with the Father for each of us. He also declares the link between the Father’s Name and His love in us.

“…that they all may be one, as You, Father, are in Me, and I in You; that they also may be one in Us, that the world may believe that You sent Me… And I have declared to them Your Name, and will declare it, that the love with which You loved Me may be in them, and I in them.” John 17:21, 26

Pray for the peace of Jerusalem and the restoration of Israel.

The Hebrew God Who Has No Name

End of Season Sale: Pay Now Play Later?

Doreen and I were just discussing this. By announcing that foreign governments will not be able to buy influence through the Clinton Foundation if Hillary is elected, they have made it clear. Send money now! It’s your last chance. They can still contribute right up to November 8. That is the message.

How far we have fallen from integrity and trust in our beloved United States. We must pray for God’s mercy. I know many are thinking they can’t vote for either candidate, but I see a binary choice, one or the other. We need to hear from God’s Holy Spirit, and applying all wisdom from above; we must vote!

Too many brave men and women have died for our precious freedom to vote. Please don’t throw it away. Use your vote. The platforms are opposites. The contrast between liberal/conservative, insider/outsider, status quo/change, pro-abortion/pro-life, anti-Israel (as in more of the same)/pro-Israel and then there is the marriage issue, the bathroom issue, corruption and on and on, ad nauseam.

Many are sick of it already, with 77 days to go. But don’t lose heart. Here are two reasons to believe God for mercy for America.

There are still millions of believers in Yeshua who have not bowed their knees to Baal. Pray. Hard.

“Yet I have reserved seven thousand in Israel, all whose knees have not bowed to Baal, and every mouth that has not kissed him.” 1 Kings 19:18

Our nation has sent the Gospel around the world: Jesus, the Bread of Life. We are now the recipient of many missionaries from far nations bringing the Gospel back to these shores for a Third Great Awakening.

The Turkey is Coming Home to Roost

RecepTayyipErdoğan_(cropped) Ok, so maybe my title is a little too cute? But my topic is quite sober. The rise of Islamism in Turkey this summer and the feeble “coup” attempt has secured Erdogan as the Supreme Leader of the Muslim world.

Early Christendom Ban

Even though almost all original believers in Yeshua as Messiah were Jews, a deadly separation opened up between Jews and Christians. By the time Constantine was Emperor, the animosity against Jews was legalized by decree of the Empire.

Constantine was reportedly quite anti-Jewish. Edicts kept coming from Council after Council for hundreds of years starting around 325 AD. This major separation from Judaism coincided with Constantine simply declaring that the Empire was now Christian. His subjects went to bed one night as pagans and awoke the next morning as Christians! Yet not one of them was born again through repentance and the shed blood of Jesus. The mixture of unbelievers with true believers in Christendom persists until today and is the precursor to the great apostasy (“falling away”).

Eventually, Islam conquered Constantinople and changed the name to Istanbul. The Hagia Sophia Church had been the pride of Christendom for a thousand years from 537-1520 A.D. It was the largest cathedral in the world. The Muslim Ottoman Turks converted it to a mosque until 1931, when secularized Turkey made it into a museum. However, Erdogan has his eyes set on turning it back into a mosque, as part of his Islamization plan.

Islamism Rising in Turkey

The resurgence of Islamic radicalism is now clear in Turkey. The Jerusalem Post predicted this in 2010. It means that the revival of the Ottoman Empire and the restored Caliphate is just around the corner. It is my opinion that ISIS is a premature attempt to revive a Caliphate. If Erdogan were to somehow get credit for solving the ISIS problem, he would be a hero. He could become the real Caliph of most of Islam. Prophetic events are happening at an almost daily pace. Keep your eyes on Turkey. Ezekiel 38 features Turkey and cities in Turkey as the leader of the final great battle of Gog and Magog.

However, Yehovah, God of Israel will again fight for Israel and win.

“And it will come to pass at the same time, when Gog comes against the land of Israel,” says the Lord Yehovah, “that My fury will show in My face. For in My jealousy and in the fire of My wrath I have spoken: ‘Surely in that day there shall be a great earthquake in the land of Israel, so that the fish of the sea, the birds of the heavens, the beasts of the field, all creeping things that creep on the earth, and all men who are on the face of the earth shall shake at My presence. The mountains shall be thrown down, the steep places shall fall, and every wall shall fall to the ground.’ I will call for a sword against Gog throughout all My mountains,” says the Lord Yehovah. “Every man’s sword will be against his brother. And I will bring him to judgment with pestilence and bloodshed; I will rain down on him, on his troops, and on the many peoples who are with him, flooding rain, great hailstones, fire, and brimstone. Thus I will magnify Myself and sanctify Myself, and I will be known in the eyes of many nations. Then they shall know that I am Yehovah.” ’ Ezekiel 38:18-22

Vote for Us, We Killed More Israelis

Hamas? No. Hezbollah? No again. ISIS? Not even close. This campaign slogan comes from our friends at the Palestinian Authority. These are the same Palestinians to which Israel is expected to give half of their land. You can’t make this stuff up. The PA is in an election fight to keep their control with the rise of Hamas in the West Bank (Judea and Samaria for you Bible students).

Why Palestinians are on the verge of civil war

The two-state solution, a long-held US-backed plan for a rosy Mideast future, is threatened by Mr. Yesterday — someone hopelessly clinging to the past.

That Mr. Yesterday isn’t Donald Trump, whose aides deleted the words “two-state solution” from the Republican platform. And it isn’t Hillary Clinton, whose would-be veep, Tim Kaine, last year boycotted the Israeli prime minister’s speech to Congress. Hillary and Kaine cherish the two-state solution dearly.

It isn’t Bernie Sanders, whose supporters hoisted a Palestinian flag on the convention floor Monday in lieu of Old Glory. Or Rep. Hank Johnson, (D-Ga.), who this week called Israeli settlers “termites.”

Nor is it the usual suspect, Israel’s Benjamin Netanyahu.

Nah. Mr. Yesterday, the man who dreads two states more than anyone in America, Europe or Israel, is none other than the president of the Palestinian Authority, Mahmoud Abbas.

Wait, there’s more! A post appearing on the official Facebook page of Abbas’ Fatah faction listed its most cherished achievements, chief among them its claim to have killed 11,000 Israelis. — In other words, it would appear that the number of Israelis a group has killed is directly tied to its ability to win Palestinian elections. And Israel is supposed to make peace with these people. Israel Today

Congressman: Jewish Settlers Are Like Termites Rep. Hank Johnson (D., Ga.) launched into a tirade against Israel and its policies toward the Palestinians, comparing Jewish people who live in disputed territories to “termites” that destroy homes.

I am not making this up. There are very dangerous anti-Israel people out there who believe Israel should be destroyed. Remember the importance of the 83rd Psalm.

Do not keep silent, O God! Do not hold Your peace, and do not be still, O God! For behold, Your enemies make a tumult; and those who hate You have lifted up their head. They have taken crafty counsel against Your people, and consulted together against Your sheltered ones. They have said, “Come, and let us cut them off from being a nation, that the name of Israel may be remembered no more.” For they have consulted together with one consent; They form a confederacy against You: Psalm 83:1-5

Notice that the enemies are against God Himself. They only attack His chosen nation because they can’t reach up to Heaven and attack Yehovah God. Do not be mis-lead, don’t buy the propaganda. Listen to the Holy Spirit of truth and the revelation of Scripture.

First Fruits of Shavuot

fig This coming Sunday, Jews around the world celebrate Shavuot, which Christians call Pentecost. It occurs exactly 5o days after Passover. What is the embedded meaning in this singular summer feast? With three Spring feasts and three Fall feasts, how is this one unique for both Jews and Christians? Last week Jerusalem Day was celebrated in Israel, marking 49 years since its liberation and reunification through the Six Day War of 1967.

But this week hearts turn to the majestic march of the history of the Jewish nation. It speaks of Yehovah’s choosing and blessing of Israel, as a means to bless all the nations of the earth. Judaism teaches that God gave the Law of Mt. Sinai on Shavuot. The Bible clearly teaches the feast as the first fruits of the wheat harvest. The Book of Ruth is usually read at this time since it took place in the wheat harvest and tells the beautiful love story of Boaz and Ruth. King David was their great-grandson.

Shavuot was also the first day on which people could bring the Bikkurim (first fruits) to the Temple in Jerusalem. The first fruits were brought from the Seven Species for which the Land of Israel is praised: wheat, barley, grapes, figs, pomegranates, olives, and dates.

For Yehovah your God is bringing you into a good land, a land of brooks of water, of fountains and springs, that flow out of valleys and hills; a land of wheat and barley, of vines and fig trees and pomegranates, a land of olive oil and honey; a land in which you will eat bread without scarcity, in which you will lack nothing; a land whose stones are iron and out of whose hills you can dig copper. When you have eaten and are full, then you shall bless Yehovah your God for the good land which He has given you. Deuteronomy 8:7-10

“And it shall be, when you come into the land which Yehovah your God is giving you as an inheritance, and you possess it and dwell in it, that you shall take some of the first of all the produce of the ground, which you shall bring from your land that Yehovah your God is giving you, and put it in a basket and go to the place where Yehovah your God chooses to make His name abide. And you shall go to the one who is priest in those days, and say to him, ‘I declare today to Yehovah your God that I have come to the country which Yehovah swore to our fathers to give us.’” Deuteronomy 26:1-3

So, we see that Israel became the first fruit nation of Yehovah at Sinai. But also in His sovereign timing, Shavuot/Pentecost was also the exact day that the Holy Spirit was poured out on the first fruits of the early church. This would lead to the whole world being blessed through the seed of David, the seed of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. Jesus/Yeshua had to be a descendant of King David to qualify as the Promised Messiah. He Himself was the first fruit from the dead and He poured out the Holy Spirit after ascending to His throne at the Heavenly Father Yehovah’s right hand. Blessed be His holy name forever!

When is a Martyr NOT a Martyr?

FACT #1: A Palestinian terrorist stabbed and killed American tourist Taylor Force in Jaffa, near Tel Aviv, Israel on March 8. He also stabbed 11 others including the wife of the murdered American student from Vanderbilt University.

FACT #2: Israeli police shot and killed the terrorist murderer. They refused to return the body to the Palestinian Authority (Israel’s supposed “peace partner”) until the PA agreed to not treat the terrorist attacker as a “martyr.”

FACT #3: The Palestinian Authority did not honor the agreement. Masalha’s funeral was attended by hundreds of chanting mourners, and was given priority coverage by Palestinian Authority TV. During the televised event, the PA TV news anchor praised Masalha as a “martyr” no fewer than 11 times. Israel Today

FACT #4: Here is the Official Palestinian Authority TV video statement.

Official PA TV newsreader: “In Qalqilya, hundreds of citizens accompanied the body of Martyr Bashar Masalha [to his burial]…”
Official PA TV reporter: “After delays by Israel in the transfer of his body, Martyr Bashar Masalha’s family, from the village of Hajja, east of Qalqilya, received their son in the evening… The Martyr Bashar returned from Qalqilya to his village Hajja in a procession… His family, friends, and people of the region took it upon themselves to ensure that this [burial] would be a large national wedding (i.e., to the 72 Virgins in Paradise) befitting of Martyrs… The Martyr was accompanied to his last resting place in the cemetery for Martyrs in Hajja…”

Funeral participant: “Despite the delays by the Israeli side transferring the Martyr’s body… the PA did everything it could and applied national and political pressure to the other side so they would transfer the Martyr’s body. Despite what they (i.e., the Israelis) did, the Palestinian will prevailed and we received the Martyr’s body…”

Official PA TV reporter: “Martyr Bashar Masalha, 22, ascended to Heaven in Jaffa on March 8 [2016] (i.e., he was shot after killing US tourist)… He returned and was embraced by the soil of his homeland as a Martyr.”

When will America wake up to the lying propaganda from the Palestinian Authority? We must continue to pray for the peace of Jerusalem. The true peace will only come when the Messiah Yeshua returns.

So the nations shall fear the name of Yehovah, and all the kings of the earth Your glory. For Yehovah shall build up Zion; He shall appear in His glory. He shall regard the prayer of the destitute, and shall not despise their prayer.

Israel Government Shift

This week while I am speaking in Idaho, Israel has seen a major change in its governing coalition. Even after months of back channel pressure from Britain, U.S. and Egypt to choose a liberal path, Netanyahu surprised all by moving right. Instead of forming a “unity” with the Labor party, he invited a conservative party, expanding unity on the right.

Avigdor Liberman is head of Yisrael Beytenu, a conservative party representing Russian immigrants and settlers. He is a “settler” himself. Even the description is a loaded term, because Israel considers all of it citizens equally. Living in Judea or Samaria, (called West Bank by globalists and anti-Israel propaganda).

This means Israel will stand in stronger agreement with Bible prophecy. The two-state idea is dead. The real answer is annexation of Judea and Samaria. The Palestinian leaders will never accept a Jewish state of any size. This week, they have again denied Jerusalem as Israel’s capital city.

Pray for the peace of Jerusalem.

Ezekiel’s Dry Bones and the Holocaust

Today is Holocaust Remembrance Day (Yom haShoah) for Jewish people, and all who hold sacred the memory of Six Million Martyrs to Hitler’s genocide. It is a sober day in Israel and around the world for many. We all should pause and reflect and pray for the peace of Jerusalem. Recently, a prominent New York Rabbi called for Jews to leave America and return to Israel for the catastrophe coming to the U.S. (see Wars and Rumors of Wars).

Ezekiel 37 refers to a valley of dry bones that has been seen as pointing to the return of Jews to Israel from exile.But I want to suggest a more literal take on Ezekiel’s dry bones vision. (I have a deeper look at this in my book, Generation LIFE, chapter 11: Holocaust Resurrection.)

3 Questions

Where, geographically, is the valley located that Ezekiel saw? Is the resurrection of the bones literal? What is the purpose of the “exceedingly great army”?

Also He said to me, “Prophesy to the breath, prophesy, son of man, and say to the breath, ‘Thus says the Lord Yehovah: “Come from the four winds, O breath, and breathe on these slain, that they may live.” ’ ” So I prophesied as He commanded me, and breath came into them, and they lived, and stood upon their feet, an exceedingly great army. Ezekiel 37:9-10

Now, the traditional understanding of this passage is to the general last-day return of Israel to the Land. The reference (bolded) of a great army could refer to the IDF (Israel Defense Forces). They have become a force to be reckoned with in the Middle East. That surely applies, but what if God were to literally raise the Holocaust victims from the dead, and supernaturally make them an actual physical army for the last battle?

Then He said to me, “Son of man, these bones are the whole house of Israel. They indeed say, ‘Our bones are dry, our hope is lost, and we ourselves are cut off!’ Therefore prophesy and say to them, ‘Thus says the Lord Yehovah: “Behold, O My people, I will open your graves and cause you to come up from your graves, and bring you into the land of Israel. Then you shall know that I am Yehovah, when I have opened your graves, O My people, and brought you up from your graves. I will put My Spirit in you, and you shall live, and I will place you in your own land. Then you shall know that I, Yehovah, have spoken it and performed it,” says Yehovah.’ ” Ezekiel 37:11-14

One thing clarified by this second quoted section is that the valley of dry bones was not in Israel. I will open your graves and cause you to come up from your graves, and bring you into the land of Israel. What would be the prophetic timing of such a miracle purpose? We can only speculate, probably at the Second Coming, when Jesus arrives to deal the final defeat of the anti-Messiah forces. What a glorious and victorious battle it will be, especially to those who had suffered such ignoble desecration in their deaths.

I do not insist on this interpretation, but what if….?

Israel: Light to the Nations

Here is my vision. This is why I publish commentary on the internet via my blog and my weekly YouTube prophecy update. Jesus is the Light of the world, and He has made us light individually, but He has always purposed that Israel be a light nationally. A main point of my new book, Blessing Israel, is that God chose them to model His Kingdom to the world, to draw the world into relationship with Yehovah God. He did not choose Israel as a means of excluding all the nations, but as the means of saving everyone who believes in Him.

UN Vote Friday to Condemn Israel

We are now at a critical crossroad in the US/Israel relationship. This week two profound and very negative choices face the Obama administration. One is the Golan issue on the Israel/Syria border. The other is at the United Nations.

This Friday the Palestinian Authority is pushing a vote in the UN Security Council against Israel. They last tried in December 2014 and could not get the nine yes votes to pass it. This time they have the votes. The only way to defeat it is with a US veto; and President Obama is threatening and intimidating Israel with the suggestion that he may not veto the resolution.

Judgement Day – Will The US Turn It’s Back On Israel At Friday’s UN Vote? Prophecy News Watch: Such actions would be unprecedented in US/Israel relations but some believe Obama has been emboldened by his actions in Iran and Cuba, and that the Palestinian cause could be his final act of legacy to “bring peace” to the Middle East.

This week the Obama Administration joined with Russia in a plan to force Israel to give up the Golan Heights to Syria. Israel annexed the Golan in 1981 because Syria used it to fire rockets down on northern Israel. This is an ominous development that exposes the sinister Obama hidden agenda to punish Israel for Prime Minister Netanyahu’s refusal to knuckle under US pressure to force a two-state solution.

Netanyahu: We Will Never Surrender Golan Heights Israel’s Cabinet convened its weekly meeting atop the Golan Heights on Sunday so that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu could pointedly inform the world that, in light of the current situation in the region, there is no chance Israel will ever return the strategic plateau to Syrian control. United States ‘doesn’t consider the Golan a part of Israel‘ State Department spokesperson rejects Netanyahu’s comments that the Golan will forever remain under Israeli sovereignty. End of the Book – We Win!

“At the end of the day…” is an overused expression designed to close an argument. However, there is a much greater expression for believers: “I have read the end of the Book, and we win!” But, if someone asked you to show them the verses that settle the eternity question, what would you quote? The truth is that there are many verses that speak of our final victory from Genesis to Revelation. I offer this one from the Book of Daniel as a little change of pace encouragement for your day today. I have taken out the parts about the anti-Christ to emphasize the great and glorious news that follows the ultimate defeat of the enemy.

I watched till thrones were put in place, and the Ancient of Days was seated; His garment was white as snow, and the hair of His head was like pure wool. His throne was a fiery flame, Its wheels a burning fire; A fiery stream issued and came forth from before Him. A thousand thousands ministered to Him; ten thousand times ten thousand stood before Him. The court was seated, and the books were opened. (v-9-10)

I was watching in the night visions, and behold, One like the Son of Man, coming with the clouds of heaven! He came to the Ancient of Days, and they brought Him near before Him. Then to Him was given dominion and glory and a kingdom, that all peoples, nations, and languages should serve Him. His dominion is an everlasting dominion, which shall not pass away, and His kingdom the one which shall not be destroyed. (v-13-14

I was watching; and the same horn was making war against the saints, and prevailing against them, until the Ancient of Days came, and a judgment was made in favor of the saints of the Most High, and the time came for the saints to possess the kingdom. (v-21-22)

But the court shall be seated, and they shall take away his dominion, to consume and destroy it forever. Then the kingdom and dominion, and the greatness of the kingdoms under the whole heaven, shall be given to the people, the saints of the Most High. His kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and all dominions shall serve and obey Him. (v-26-27) Daniel 7

Global Jihad and Esther: Serious Analysis

Dozens dead today in Brussels. At least 34 dead as explosions rock Brussels airport, metro Terrorists again attacked innocent civilians, this time in Brussels, Belgium. A news analyst opined that civilian targets were chosen because military targets are harder to attack “because they are hardened” and soft targets are easier. This is not why. Civilians are attacked because the goal is terror, not military conquest.

The Esther Solution: This week, Jews all over the world celebrate Purim, the great victory over their enemies in the Book of Esther. The basis of their win was simple: self-defense. The King had issued a law allowing the execution of all Jews. Esther’s famous story “for such a time as this” and “if I perish, I perish,” resulted not in reversing the law, but in a new degree allowing the Jews to defend themselves. What a concept!

Now in the twelfth month, that is, the month of Adar, on the thirteenth day, the time came for the king’s command and his decree to be executed. On the day that the enemies of the Jews had hoped to overpower them, the opposite occurred, in that the Jews themselves overpowered those who hated them. The Jews gathered together in their cities throughout all the provinces of King Ahasuerus to lay hands on those who sought their harm. And no one could withstand them, because fear of them fell upon all people. And all the officials of the provinces, the satraps, the governors, and all those doing the king’s work, helped the Jews, because the fear of Mordecai fell upon them. Esther 9:1-3 (You should read this short Book of Esther this week for Purim.)

What does this have to do with global jihad? Europe is one big “gun-free zone.” Citizens are not allowed to defend themselves. Believe it or not, the solution is not simply a 2^nd Amendment argument. This Esther principle is the global solution for nations. Israel (as usual) is the classic example. Their correct justification for military action is that they have a national right and a personal right to defend themselves. Their enemies also attack civilian soft targets. The difference in Israel, is that they fight back. In the United States we still have the 2^nd Amendment, although it is seriously undermined, but Europe is defenseless.

The goal of Haman in Esther was the death of every Jew. That is the same demonic principality unleashed today. Only now, it includes Christians, and by extension, the Western free world. Are you willing to stand up for Israel today? We are in this together, make no mistake.

Time to Annex Judea & Samaria (aka West Bank)

There is a time for everything under the sun, according to King Solomon:

To everything there is a season, A time for every purpose under heaven. Ecclesiastes 3:1

It is time to annex Judea and Samaria which the world calls the West Bank. The Oslo accords have failed. The two-state plan has failed. The Middle East is on fire with the Muslim Brotherhood taking over another state every few months. Arab citizens of Israel are the only Arabs enjoying freedom, peace and liberty. Most Palestinians would be far better off as citizens of Israel. The fumbling obstinate dictatorship of Abbas is no solution. And if he achieved Palestinian statehood, he would be immediately overthrown by Hamas. It is time for Israel to act proactively. Many Israeli’s are ready for a bold solution. Even leaders in the government and the Knesset are speaking openly about annexation.

Deputy Transportation Minister MK Tzipi Hotovely (Likud) said on Sunday that it was time that the Israeli government take steps to annex Judea and Samaria, even if it comes with the price of giving citizenship to Arabs residing in these areas. Speaking to Arutz Sheva, Hotovely said that offering citizenship to Palestinian Authority Arabs would be a small price pay for ending the status quo which brings international criticism of Israel, viewed as an “occupier” in Judea and Samaria. Bayit Yehudi head, Economics Minister Naftali Bennett, said Monday that the idea of establishing a Palestinian state has reached a dead-end and should be forsaken. “Never in the history of Israel has so much energy been invested in something so pointless,” Bennett said at a conference on the Jewish settlers in Judea and Samaria and their depiction in the media. In recent weeks and months, public leaders and leading journalists affiliated with the settlement movement have called for annexing and incorporating all of Judea and Samaria into Israel. In response to the chaos and weakness of the Arab nations surrounding Israel and the preoccupation of the Western world with the ongoing genocide in Syria, they claim that now is the time to be proactive and go on the offensive and do what will be inevitably done anyway probably under less favorable conditions for Israel. At the same time as these discussions President Bill Clinton visited Israel this week in what I can only call a flashback to 1993. He is lost in the past of his dream of the Oslo accords. Under the headline: Clinton: Israel Must Make Peace or Disappear,Breitbart.com reported: In a speech that will no doubt incentivize Palestinians to continue their campaign of terror and warfare against Israel, former President Bill Clinton told Israel that it would have to make peace with the Palestinians if it wanted to remain Jewish and democratic. Even as far back as April 2011, the idea of annexation was gaining momentum as seen in this story about two members of Knesset and a bill proposing annexation.

MK Danon preparing bills to annex West Bank, repeal Oslo Accords; move intended to convince EU to stop UN vote on Palestinian statehood. Ideas about annexing parts of the West Bank that until recently were considered extreme have been gaining traction in the Knesset in recent weeks as the Palestinian Authority continues threatening to declare a state unilaterally in September. National Infrastructures Minister Uzi Landau raised the idea at Israel Beiteinu’s convention in Jerusalem two weeks ago. (Jerusalem Post 4/26/2011)

It is time for Israel to annex Judea and Samaria politically, demographically and most important prophetically.

And I will make them one nation in the land, on the mountains of Israel; and one king shall be king over them all; they shall no longer be two nations, nor shall they ever be divided into two kingdoms again. Ezekiel 37:22

I wrote this article June 24, 2013, almost three years ago! Then, there was a trickle of interest in annexation. Today, the idea is catching on throughout Israel. Even liberals are now seriously considering the idea. The two-state plan is dead. Pray for the peace of Jerusalem!

Ancient Perpetual Hatred of Israel

This week Iran fired two test missiles with the words (in Hebrew) “Israel Should be Wiped Off the Earth” painted on the sides of the missiles. Is this new or unique to history? Of course not! Hitler used similar language, even comparing the annihilation of the Jews as “exterminating rodents”. But it certainly did not start with Hitler, either. Consider this verse written by Ezekiel over 2,700 years ago. Notice that he considered it “ancient hatred” even then!

“Because you have had an ancient hatred, and have shed the blood of the children of Israel by the power of the sword at the time of their calamity, when their iniquity came to an end, therefore, as I live,” says the Lord Yehovah, “I will prepare you for blood, and blood shall pursue you; since you have not hated blood, therefore blood shall pursue you.Ezekiel 35:5-6

The King James version calls it “perpetual hatred.” So what is the source of this relentless quest to destroy God’s beloved Israel? It is Satan himself. He hates Yehovah, but cannot touch Him, so He attacks the apple of God’s eye, Israel. This is clear in Psalm 83.

Do not keep silent, O God! Do not hold Your peace, and do not be still, O God! For behold, Your enemies make a tumult; and those who hate You have lifted up their head. They have taken crafty counsel against Your people, and consulted together against Your sheltered ones. They have said, “Come, and let us cut them off from being a nation, that the name of Israel may be remembered no more.” Psalm 83:1-4

Satan’s goal is that Israel be forgotten. Where did he get that idea? I have said many times that the devil is not creative. He does not originate, he can only pervert what already exists. Here is where he got the idea to wipe Israel off the map.

For I will take from her mouth the names of the Baals, and they shall be remembered by their name no more. Hosea 2:17

Through Hosea, God was telling Israel’s future, that their worship of false gods would end. They would return to the living God of Israel, and the pagan gods’ names would be forgotten. Satan stole the idea of “wiping from memory” from Hosea’s prophecy. Satan didn’t have a new idea, he just perverted the eternal plan of Yehovah God.

So therefore, I don’t put much stake in Iran’s threats. They are just another in a long list of attempts to destroy Israel that will fail. I choose to stick with the faithful promise of Yehovah’s word.

Thus says Yehovah, Who gives the sun for a light by day, the ordinances of the moon and the stars for a light by night, Who disturbs the sea, and its waves roar (Yehovah of hosts is His name): “If those ordinances depart

from before Me, says Yehovah, then the seed of Israel shall also cease from being a nation before Me forever.” Jeremiah 31:36:37

David’s Sling – Israel’s New Missile

End the Unjust Occupation JPEG You have to love the name of Israel’s new defensive missile shield: David’s Sling. Modern Muslim propaganda tries to paint Israel as Goliath and Islam as David. This, in spite of the simple demographic reality seen in the map pictured here.

So, what is David’s sling? You may be familiar with the Iron Dome system which has proved 90% effective in shooting down short-range rockets and missiles. David’s sling is a mid-range defense.

The David’s Sling System is the middle tier of Israel’s multi-layer defense layer. The lowest layer is the Iron Dome system, capable of intercepting short-range missiles. David’s Sling is intended to engage missiles with a range of 70-250 kilometers; and the Arrow-2 (operational) and Arrow-3 (under development) are intended to engage long-range missiles.

“After a series of concluding trials of the David’s Sling aerial defense system, Israel’s Missile Defense Organization at the Defense Ministry, together with the US Missile Defense Agency, began delivering major components of the system to the Israeli Air Force,” the ministry said in a statement.

“David’s Sling will allow Israel to more effectively defend against the wide range of current and future threats to its civilians,” the ministry added. Times of Israel March 1, 2016

Netanyahu: Palestinian terrorism not motivated by despair Prime minister says Arabs’ frustration caused not by their inability to build but their inability to destroy Israel.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Sunday said attempts to explain Palestinian terrorism as motivated by despair were “incorrect.” Terror attacks, he said, “don’t come because of their despair and the frustration over the inability to build. They come because of their despair and the frustration over inability to destroy.”

He took issue with the desperation claim, saying it “exonerates the Palestinians from being responsible for their actions.” He noted that Arabs had attacked Jews in Israel “before the state was founded and afterwards, before there were territories and settlements and afterwards, when there was a peace process and when there wasn’t one.” Times of Israel February 29, 2016

I love how Netanyahu always manages to speak with such moral clarity. As the US slogs through a shameful political election season debating spray-on sun tans and insults, Israel has no time for such frivolity. Its very existence is at stake. He is spot on to say frustration is not the Palestinian motive. The reason he is clear is because he is a Bible student. Here is how the Bible describes the terrorists’ motive.

Fabric Found from King David Era

Once in a while, archaeologists find something that both confirms the Bible and is simply fascinating in its own right. Such a find is the priceless collection of fabrics from King Solomon’s mines. Here is an excerpt from the Tel Aviv University team:

This is the first time textiles from that period have been discovered, and they are expected to provide information on the clothes and fashion that were used by ancient Israelites, as well as the neighboring Edomites…. “No textiles have ever been found at excavation sites like Jerusalem, Megiddo and Hazor, so this provides a unique window into an entire aspect of life from which we’ve never had physical evidence before,” Dr. Ben-Yosef said.

TAU masters student Vanessa Workman elaborated: “We found linen, which was not produced locally. It was most likely from the Jordan Valley or Northern Israel. The majority of the fabrics were made of sheep’s wool, a cloth that is seldom found in this ancient period. This tells us how developed and sophisticated both their textile craft and trade networks must have been.”

In addition to the fabric, archaeologists discovered well-preserved seeds, leather and other rare artifacts. “This is the first time seeds from this period have been found uncharred and in such large quantities,” said Dr. Ben-Yosef. “With the advancement of modern science, we now enjoy research options that were unthinkable a few decades ago. We can reconstruct wine typical of King David’s era, for example, and understand the cultivation and domestication processes that have been preserved in the DNA of the seed.” Israel National News

Yehovah, God of Israel is revealing His glory in Israel. I don’t need archaeology to confirm the Bible truth, but it is certainly exciting to see God’s favor and restoration in the Land! He has turned the page from judgement to restoration for Israel. It is the dawn of the new day in prophetic history.

Lying CBS Headline

3 Palestinians killed as daily violence grinds on – CBS

We have been talking a lot lately about media coverage of Palestinian terror attacks lately. Over 30 Israelis have been killed individually in the last four months by the ongoing “knife intifada”. This week it escalated to the use of semi-automatic weapons when three terrorists intended to murder many at the Damascus Gate in Jerusalem. A nineteen year old female Israeli guard was killed and another wounded, but the killers were killed.

Yet, CBS used the above headline on their initial story! Here is a reprint of an excellent article from Israel Today Magazine (which I highly recommend).

The mainstream international media on Wednesday again demonstrated its outrageous bias against Israel in reporting on the terrorist attack near the Damascus Gate of Jerusalem’s Old City.

The culprit this time around was the American television network CBS, whose news website headlined its report of the incident “3 Palestinians killed as daily violence grinds on”.

It’s fairly simple to ascertain the goal of such an elusive headline.

The initial impression most readers would get is that the three Palestinians in question were the victims. And since so many news consumers these days merely scan headlines, they would have walked away believing that.

The problem is that the Palestinians were in fact the perpetrators.

An online outcry resulted in CBS later changing the headline to “Israeli police kill 3 alleged Palestinian attackers”. It was subsequently altered again to “Palestinians kill Israeli officer, wound another before being killed”.

At no point did CBS publicly apologize or clarify its change.

Israeli media officials called for all Israelis to denounce CBS’s blatant bias as loudly as possible, while Foreign Ministry spokesman Emmanuel Nahshon called the fraudulent headline “unprecedented chutzpah.”

This debacle has provided an opportunity to again highlight why it is so important to find a reliable source of news from Israel.

The news must be read with a critical eye, knowing that important elements were probably omitted, perhaps purposefully so. Our mission at Israel Today is to fill in those gaps, to provide the stories and angles that the mainstream media left out so that you can form a more complete and clear picture of what is really happening in the Holy Land. Tailwind for Terror

UN Secretary General Ban Ki-Moon showed his bias and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu condemned his words this week in a heated exchange.

Netanyahu blasts UN’s Ban: “Your remarks are a tailwind for terror“ Speaking to the UN Security Council in a session on the current situation in the Middle East, Ban condemns terror wave, but says it is ‘human nature to react to occupation’… Netanyahu accused UN Secretary- General Ban Ki-moon on Tuesday of supporting Palestinian terrorism.

“It is human nature to react to occupation, which often serves as a potent incubator of hate and extremism,” Ban had told a Security Council meeting in New York.

In what became a war of words, Netanyahu shot back: “The secretary-general’s remarks provide a tailwind for terrorism. There is no justification for terrorism. Those Palestinians who murder do not want to build a state, they want to destroy a state and they say this openly.”

Ban made his remarks on the same day that terrorist victim Shlomit Krigman, 23, was buried in Jerusalem. The young woman was fatally stabbed on Monday evening by two Palestinian terrorists. Jerusalem Post 1-26-16

Ban Ki-Moon later tried to walk back his remarks, but the damage was done. By using the excuse of “human nature” to describe the Palestinian terror attacks, he indeed justifies the terror. He links resistance to “occupation” with human nature. The problem is that the specific type of resistance employed by terrorist is not human, it is demonic. It is not “natural” to send 13-year-old boys and girls to stab women while they are simply shopping. Shlomit Krigman was buried the same day as Ban’s remarks. The 23-year-old was grocery shopping when stabbed to death by two Palestinians, one of which was 17 years old. Stabbing innocent civilians is not legitimate “resistance to occupation.”

This is not only an Israel problem. This perverse form of rationalizing is spreading everywhere. It is part of prophesied “last days.”

Perilous Times and Perilous Men

But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come: For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, despisers of good, traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, having a form of godliness but denying its power. Breathtaking Boycott

There has been a growing anti-Israel, anti-Semitic boycott of Jewish products for several years. However it has now sunk to unprecedented depths of depravity. The BDS (boycott, divest and sanction) movement has been mainly on university campuses and some church denominations tainted by the error of replacement theology.

Now, 343 scholars from the United Kingdom called on their peers to boycott Israeli academic institutions in an ad they published in The Guardian. In the text of the petition, which is called “a commitment by UK scholars to the rights of Palestinians,” the academics pledged not to publicly cooperate with universities and colleges in the Jewish state, although they said they would continue to communicate with individual Israeli scholars. Jerusalem Post 10-27-15

Israel is working to overcome “an upcoming vote by the American Anthropological Association in which its 12,000 members will vote on whether to adopt a boycott and refrain from formal collaborations with Israeli academic institutions.” Jerusalem Post 1-20-16

But even worse, 71 doctors from the United Kingdom have now called for a boycott: The Knesset panel also heard from Dr. Zeev Feldman, chairman of the Israeli Medical Association World Fellowship and president of the Israeli Neurosurgical Society, who revealed that the latest boycott call comes from a group of 71 British doctors … Feldman said the doctors penned a letter last week to the World Medical Association seeking to expel the Israeli Medical Association, claiming that Israeli doctors carried out “medical torture” on Palestinian patients. This is lunacy. Consider the record of Jews winning Nobel prizes. Nobel Prizes have been awarded to over 850 individuals, of whom at least 170 individuals (20%) were Jews, although Jews comprise less than 0.2% of the world’s population. Wikipedia

Meanwhile, Muslims comprise over 23% of world population and have had 12 Nobel Prizes. (One of these was a Peace Prize given to Yasser Arafat, the infamous Palestinian terrorist): As of 2015, twelve Nobel Prize winners have been Muslims. More than half of the twelve Muslim Nobel laureates were awarded the prize in the 21st century. Seven of the twelve winners have been awarded the Nobel Peace Prize, including a controversial award to Yasser Arafat. Wikipedia

Jews have found cures for many diseases. Do the British doctors also want to refuse this medicine? Here is a partial list: Syphilis, Gonorrhea, Heart Disease, Headaches, Typhus, Diabetes, Mental Disorders, Polio, Convulsions and Tuberculosis.

We can only pray to God for mercy for Israel, His chosen ones. Pray for the peace of Jerusalem

God’s Choice

Israel was chosen by Yehovah God for a reason. It was His choice. To question the choice is to challenge God. Here is the shocker. He chose Israel as His means of blessing all the other nations of the earth. God did not choose them as a way of excluding the nations, but as His method of inclusion. How did the nations react? They were jealous, resentful and covetous of the blessing. He did not choose them because they were better, they were better because He chose them.

Yet God’s original plan is clearly spoken in Genesis.

“I will bless those who bless you, and I will curse him who curses you; and in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed.” Genesis 12:3

“Also your descendants shall be as the dust of the earth; you shall spread abroad to the west and the east, to the north and the south; and in you and in your seed all the families of the earth shall be blessed.“ Genesis 28:14

Now it shall come to pass in the latter days that the mountain of Yehovah’s house shall be established on the top of the mountains, and shall be exalted above the hills; and all nations shall flow to it. Isaiah 2:2

What motivates Yehovah? Did God bring Jews back to Israel from all over the world to just destroy them? No, that is the mantra of Iran. Did God originally choose Israel as a means to reject the world? No, His motive was to pave the way for all the nations to be blessed through Israel. Did God later choose the Church so He could find a way to completely and permanently reject Israel? No! He never gave up on them. He vowed to restore them and we have seen it in our lifetimes. Blessing Israel Ch. 13

After the fall, God kept His promised seed of the Messiah passing from generation to generation from Adam through Seth and on to Noah. However, the rest of mankind had become so wicked that the flood took them all away except righteous Noah and his family. After the flood, God singled out Abraham who was in the chosen lineage. Yehovah blessed him and narrowed the favor to Abraham’s son Isaac and his son Jacob (whose name was changed to Israel). He even narrowed it further by declaring the seed would come through David’s lineage.

It is at this point in God’s redemptive story, that an interesting phenomenon surfaces. As God chooses Israel for special blessing, the other nations become resentful and jealous. Never mind that in God’s heart Israel would become the salvation of the nations. The Gentiles could not see that far down the road and began attacking Israel to destroy her, an intent that continues into the 21^st Century! Remember John 3:16 tells us God loved the world so much that He gave His Son.

Rather than God’s choice of Israel eliminating salvation for the other nations, in God’s heart it was the means of saving them. He intended to bless all nations through Israel! Blessing Israel Ch. 3

God’s End Game

We have reached the climax of the ages. It is crunch time. I mean that in the clearest possible prophetic declaration. This is not symbolic. We are living in the last generation. I believe it with all of my heart and explained where the Bible teaches it in my book, Generation Last. This is no shameless plug, I am serious.

Through history God has been building up His Plan and preparing His people for their roles. Abraham was ready. Moses was ready. David was ready. Jesus was ready. This is our time, and we are ready! God is with us, God is for us. We are important in our places as He establishes Zion. This is not just another century, or just another millennium. This is the End Game. Fasten your spiritual seatbelt.

We can absolutely trust God to do His part. YEHOVAH GOD IS READY! He is advancing us forward into our pre-selected positions. This is the day for the glory of God to shine in us.

Arise, shine; for your light has come! And the glory of Yehovah is risen upon you. Isaiah 60:1

New Mossad chief: Israel still needs God’s help In synagogue Torah speech days after appointment, Yossi Cohen says Israel needs God now just as it did at its foundation. The Prime MInister’s National Security Adviser Yossi Cohen, who on Monday was named as the next head of the Mossad, gave a particularly powerful speech at his synagogue on Saturday, noting how Israel was established with God’s help and needs His help today just as much.

“Without siyata de’shamaya (‘Heavenly aid’ in Aramaic – ed.) the state of Israel would not have been established,” Cohen said in a Biblical exegesis at the synagogue this Shabbat, That was true then – and today too, we need siyata de’shamaya. ‘Where there is no wise direction, a people falls; but in the multitude of counselors there is safety,‘” concluded Cohen, quoting Proverbs 11:14, which was taken as the slogan of the Mossad.

Two Points:

#1. The Mossad is the Israeli equivalent to our CIA. Wouldn’t it be great if the head of the CIA stated that we need God as much now, as at our beginnings?

#2. Wouldn’t it be great if the slogan of the CIA was Proverbs 11:14?

My takeaway from this story confirms the point in my newest book: Blessing Israel. As the nations rage all around, Yehovah God is restoring Israel. This is true on a physical level, but more profoundly on the spiritual level. God is calling Israelis and touching them in their heart, the very core of their being.

Pray for the peace of Jerusalem, and specifically that all Israel will hear the Voice of Yehovah God Almighty.

Christmas Terror Tree

When you thought they couldn’t stoop any lower… How about a Christmas tree decorated with picture ornaments to honor the killers and stabbers of Israelis? That is just what this tree (pictured) is all about. Notice the “Christian” clergyman standing next to it. This has gained international attention thanks to a Twitter user name Rachel Steinmetz. Here is what she wrote in her Tweet: “Faces of dead #Palestinian terrorists used as ornaments on #Christmas tree in #Gaza, where #Terrorists grow on trees.”

I especially like her last comment: “Gaza, where Terrorists grow on trees.”

This is a new variation on a common concept practiced by Hamas and the Palestinian Authority for years. They name soccer fields after murderers. They name streets after suicide bombers. The sick cult of death knows no boundaries in their depravity. They even claim that Jesus was a Palestinian. Yet, if He was to walk into Gaza today, they would kill Jesus because He is a Jew.

Will the world ever wake up to the breathtaking hypocrisy? I think not. It is destined to get worse. The amazing thing is that God is not surprised, He sees that they do not love truth. Have you ever considered the following verse?

The coming of the lawless one is according to the working of Satan, with all power, signs, and lying wonders, and with all unrighteous deception among those who perish, because they did not receive the love of the truth, that they might be saved. And for this reason God will send them strong delusion, that they should believe the lie, that they all may be condemned who did not believe the truth but had pleasure in unrighteousness. 2 Thessalonians 2:9-12

It cannot be clearer. One who does not receive the love of the truth will be lost. It is on our own head if we reject the truth. You may not like it that God sends strong delusion, but it is true. Pray that you can recognize the truth when you see it. Learn to LOVE the truth, even if it hurts. There are some who read this verse and reject God because they don’t want a God who would do such a thing. They love their own ideals over the truth.

Receive it! Receive the love of truth. God is offering it to all, no exceptions. He loved the world so much He gave His Son. So receive His love and receive His truth. I wrote in my newest book, Blessing Israel, that the secret to understanding God is to “stand under” Him. See Him as the perfect truth and conform your views and ideals to His truth. Fall in love with the God who is Truth and live!
