While watching and praying for Israel this week I have discovered three little known truths about Gaza. They are inconvenient because they do not fit the media narrative. For years now Hamas has succeeded in portraying Israel as Goliath and Gaza as David. (Ironic that they choose to pervert a Biblical story.) However, it seems for the first time Israel is gaining ground against the Hamas and PLO propaganda machine. Here are three truths about Gaza that you will not likely see on the evening news.
#1 Gazans Are More Scared of Hamas than Israel. The civilians of Gaza, including Hamas supporters, have begun to express resentment towards the militant organizations that have made their lives hell. Such expressions of dissatisfaction, both to foreign reporters and in private conversations, have become more and more common, and could well signal the beginning of unrest against Hamas. #2 Hamas Has Become a Millionaires Club. In recent media interviews, Professor Ahmed Karima of Al-Azhar University in Egypt noted that in recent years Hamas has blossomed into a movement of millionaires. According to Karima, Hamas can boast no fewer than 1,200 millionaires among its leadership and mid-level officials. That assertion was backed up by Palestinian leader Mahmoud Abbas, who in 2012 estimated the number of Gaza millionaires to be 800. Israel Today
In particular, overall Hamas leader Khaled Mashal has amassed a fortune of $2.6 billion, the Jordanian media reported. All of this is happening as many Gazans wallow in poverty and struggle with a 40 percent unemployment rate. Imagine how many new jobs could be created by all that money Hamas collects. Instead, the terror group is well pleased to see the people of Gaza suffer, both economically and as a consequence of its violence against Israel, all in service to Hamas’ ultimate goal.
#3 Innocent Gazan Civilians are Responsible Too. Gazans who claim to be victims of their rulers should have rebelled against those building missile bases under their homes. Because they have failed to do so, they will have to pay a price. YnetNews.com
Here is a link to the Hamas Charter for your information.
Believers need to pray for discernment as we read, listen and watch the news. There are innocents in great danger who need our prayers, both Gazans and Israelis.
Pray for the peace of Jerusalem!

Miracle in Gaza: Bullet Embeds in Grenade
28 07 2014Israel’s Channel 2 News reported that a bullet fired by a Palestinian militant shooting an AK-47 missed the soldier’s body, instead slamming into a hand grenade in one of his pockets. The Israeli news service called it “a double miracle in Gaza” – one because the bullet didn’t hit the soldier’s body and two that the grenade did not detonate. The Blaze.com
Who Calls the IDF a Nazi Army?
The answer sounds like a variation of an old joke, but it is real. I am not making this up. What do you get when you cross Yasser Arafat with Mahmoud Abbas? You get Yasser Abbas, the son of Mahmoud Abbas, the head of the Palestinian Authority. Remember them? They are the “moderate” peace partners with whom Israel is supposed to negotiate the two-state solution. Yes, the same ones who incite hatred of Jews, refuse to remove the destruction of Israel from their Charter (ditto Hamas), and who are now calling for a third Intifada. You probably need to know a little more about Yasser Abbas. He is one who calls the Israeli Army “a Nazi army.”
Yasser Abbas is a Palestinian Canadian businessman and the son of Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas.[1] He was named in honor of Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat.[2] In 1983, he graduated with a degree in civil engineering from Washington State University.[3] His conspicuous wealth has caused “quiet controversy” in the Palestinian Territories.[4]
Despite Abbas’ father being accused—by former economic advisor to Yasir Arafat, Mohammed Rachid—of taking $100 million from the Palestinian government for himself, Abbas claims that his wealth comes from his own businesses.[5] Abbas had worked for a number of contracting firms from the Persian Gulf from the 1980s until he left to Ramallah to start his own company in 1997. Abbas is the current owner of Falcon Tobacco, the company that controls all American made cigarette sales in all Palestinian territories.[6] Yasser Abbas also is the Chairman of the Falcon Holding Group, a Palestinian investment firm that owns Falcon Electric Mechanical Contracting Company (FEMC).[7] However, FEMC’s success hadn’t came without the assist from the U.S. government: The Company had been rewarded a contract for $1.89 million from the U.S. government during the Iraq war to build a sewage system in the town of Hebron.[8] (This is the Yasser Abaas entry in Wikipedia.)
