Anti-Semites Hate God

Behind the uproar is a solid Biblical truth. The rise in hatred of Jews and Christians is not social; it is spiritual. The source of Jew and Israel hate is hatred of God, because He chose them! In the last days this is extended to hate of Christians for the same reason. Rebellion from God is the motivation.

“Do not keep silent, O God! Do not hold Your peace, and do not be still, O God! For behold, YOUR enemies make a tumult; and those who hate YOU have lifted up their head. … For they have consulted together with one consent; They form a confederacy against YOU:”  Psalm 83:1-2,5

Since God’s enemies can’t touch God, they attack His chosen people. They purpose to eliminate Israel completely, even from memory. That is a powerful hatred. But they will fail! Yehovah God will keep His eternal covenant with His people Israel. The great news is that we Christians have been added into the “commonwealth of Israel,” according to Romans 11:17 and Ephesians 2:12-16. In the end the true believers from Jews and Gentiles are all part of God’s redeemed as “one new man.” Of course it also means that Christian believers are also now the target of that ancient hatred of God.

“They have taken crafty counsel against YOUR people, and consulted together against YOUR sheltered ones. They have said, “Come, and let us cut them off from being a nation, that the name of Israel may be remembered no more.”  Psalm 83:3-4

This Sunday is the “9th of Av” This date of the month of Av on the Jewish calendar has a horrible list of tragedies against the Jews throughout history. Here is just a partial list:

The evil report of the 10 spies (Numbers 13-14) — The destruction of the 1st and 2nd temples — The expulsion of Jews from England France and Spain and the beginning of WWI — The deportation of Jews from the Warsaw ghetto to Treblinka — The expulsion from Gaza in 2005 Curt Landry Ministries

These events all happened at the same time of year. No wonder Jews observe these days with solemn mourning and reflection. Yet, Israel is alive today and the empires who conquered them are gone!

Egyptians, Assyrians, Babylonians, Persians, Greeks, Romans, Arab Muslim Caliphates, Ottomans, and British are all no longer empires! Yet Israel lives! Am Israel Chai! The people of Israel live!

Finally, all of this hateful antisemitism has a silver lining. There is hope. The attention to it has caused many to reexamine Israel. There is a great opportunity now to share the good news of the restoration of Israel because God is faithful. Plus, since He is showing Himself faithful to them, our faith is encouraged and energized to spread the Gospel of Yeshua, the Lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world!

Ruth and the Gentile Church

Stand with Israel

Now more than ever Christians need to stand with Israel for two reasons. We will be blessed according to God’s promise, and Israel will be comforted. When Ruth the Moabite chose to leave her own country and follow her mother in law Naomi to Israel, Ruth was blessed. She took her place in the genealogy of the Messiah Yeshua.

But Ruth said: “Entreat me not to leave you, or to turn back from following after you; for wherever you go, I will go; and wherever you lodge, I will lodge; Your people shall be my people, and your God, my  God. Where you die, I will die, and there will I be buried. Yehovah do so to me, and more also, if anything but death parts you and me.”  Ruth 1:16-17

This reference is engraved in our wedding rings regarding Doreen’s and my love for each other, but also our mutual covenant to stand with Israel.  – Israel’s God Yehovah is our God. – Israel’s Messiah Yeshua is our Messiah. We are part of the “one new man” as former Gentiles grafted into Israel by the Holy Spirit.

“For He Himself is our peace, who has made both one, and has broken down the middle wall of separation, having abolished in His flesh the enmity, that is, the law of commandments contained in ordinances, so as to create in Himself one new man from the two, thus making peace,”  Ephesians 2:14-15

This unified new man is the only way to world peace through the Kingdom of God and His Son, Jesus. No wonder Satan is pumping up the anti-Semitism everywhere.

Female. Muslim. Arab. IDF Major.

This story may surprise you. A Major in the Israel Defense Forces who is a female Muslim Arab. Major Ella Waweya has an amazing story growing up in central Israel and transforming from living in a propaganda bubble to world famous spokesperson for the IDF. The Trailblazing Female Muslim Arab IDF Major – Known as “Captain Ella,” Ella Waweya from Qalansawe had to conceal her service from her family when she joined the military. An army officer who has received both the President’s Award of Excellence and that of the minister of defense, she is the first Muslim Arab woman to publicly become a major in the IDF. Meet Ella Waweya, 33, internationally known as “Captain Ella” (even after her promotion), the IDF’s deputy spokesperson for the Arabic media.

“Until I turned 16, I was in sort of dilemma as to what was my identity. It was as if I was in a type of bubble and I was coming out of a cave to a different, very strange world.” A clarity of sorts came at age 16 when Waweya received her own Israeli ID card and with it felt that she got an answer to her question: You are Israeli.

Please read the short account of her keeping it secret from her family until much later. After her family and her village accepted her choice, everything changed; and she is now viewed as a hero. Her mother’s acceptance of her choice is especially moving. My view is that she is a precursor to the coming phenomena of what the Bible calls: “ONE NEW MAN.” She is still a Muslim as far as I know, but I believe she is on a trajectory to recognize and accept the Messiah Yeshua. I believe many Arabs will leave Islam and follow Jesus. Pray for her and others who will have open hearts to Yehovah, the God of Israel. Isaiah 19:19-25 and Isaiah 60:6-7 are just two prophecies which indicate Arab salvation. The middle wall of partition between Jew and Gentile is coming down!

“Therefore remember that you, once Gentiles in the flesh—who are called Uncircumcision by what is called the Circumcision made in the flesh by hands— that at that time you were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope and without God in the world. But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far off have been brought near by the blood of Christ. For He Himself is our peace, who has made both one, and has broken down the middle wall of separation, having abolished in His flesh the enmity, that is, the law of commandments contained in ordinances, so as to create in Himself ONE NEW MAN from the two, thus making peace, and that He might reconcile them both to God in one body through the cross, thereby putting to death the enmity. Why Are We Called Elisha Vision?

Les and Doreen Lawrence have a specific ministry to connect Jewish and Christian believers. We see a prophetic timing in God’s last generation which brings Jews and Christians together as “One New Man” in Jesus (Yeshua). This prophetic merger explains many of the geo-political events of this day, especially in contrast to the rise of radical Islam.

Our task is to help others see this and understand what believers ought to do, thus participating in the fulfillment of His plan.

Our method is by following the example of Elisha who could “see” the spiritual dimension when others could not. We endeavor to open eyes to the fact that “more are they that are with us than they that are with them.” This is primarily working with leaders to provide “seed to the sowers” regarding our critical union with Israel in God’s final purpose of restoration.

Our support for Israel is first and foremost for the eternal purpose of God for His people and His Land through many unconditional promises. Our support begins by standing with the believers in the Land. Many Israelis have come to believe in Jesus as the Messiah. We choose to stand foursquare beside them in these difficult days. We pray for the peace of Jerusalem, knowing that the only true peace is in Yeshua ben Yehovah. We pray for the government, knowing that many of its leaders do not know God, but we believe that God is the one who removes and sets up kings. Jesus died for all men, and we therefore pray for the salvation of all the neighbors of Israel as well, while still recognizing God’s unique prophetic relationship to Israel.

The Merger Miracle

Jews and Christians will inevitably be united as one people and one nation.  It will take a miracle! Christian Zionists and Jewish Zionists working together is a great first step. But we have a long way to go, and only God can do it. Our part is to yield, leaning in to His lead. We will have to follow Him. Our sensitivity to His Holy Spirit voice may have life or death consequences.

The merger miracle can be seen in the often quoted verse from the Wisdom of Solomon:

Though one may be overpowered by another, two can withstand him. And a threefold cord is not quickly broken. Ecclesiastes 4:12

The secret to the miracle is more than Jews and Christians working together for Zion. It is Yehovah God as the third strand of cord woven together. All three in unity makes a winning combination.

What motivates Yehovah? Did God bring Jews back to Israel from all over the world to just destroy them? No, that is the mantra of Iran. Did God originally choose Israel as a means to reject the world? No, His motive was to pave the way for all the nations to be blessed through Israel. Did God later choose the Church so He could find a way to completely and permanently reject Israel? No! He never gave up on them. He vowed to restore them and we have seen it in our lifetimes. On a physical level, I see more land for Israel as the result of the Arab Spring described in Isaiah 19. The same is true for the Psalm 83 War. Both events, probably concurrent, will mean that Israel will need more immigrants. Many of those may eventually be Christian Zionists invited by Israel.

Spiritually and relationally, a great affinity is already forming between many Jews and Christians. On two separate occasions I heard Israeli Jews say that they “love God, believe in the Messiah, and when He comes they will look at His hands and feet. And then we will rejoice together!” That is an amazing confession.

Christians will have to give up replacement theology and Jews will accept Yeshua as Messiah. Jews will not become culturally gentile-ized, or Christian-ized out of their Judaism, but recognize that Yeshua simply fulfills all of the prophecies about the Messiah. Of course the convincing occurs in their relational interaction with Jesus, one on one. That is God’s part.

It really is a merging of the two, not a swallowing up of Israel by the Church. Israel is destined to be the head and not the tail. A sad fact is that it appears that a majority of “Christendom” (those who by title or nationality are considered Christian) may not actually know Jesus at all as their personal Savior. We are now in the prophetic time of the great apostasy, the falling away of the church. True relational, saved followers of Jesus may prove to be a distinct minority. I am not proposing that all true Christians will move to Israel, but that a substantial number will. It will be seen by all as a true miracle. New Hope for Israeli Christians

Christian IsraeliA new report in Israel Today Magazine 4-23-14 gives hope for Christian Israeli citizens: The Israeli defense establishment this week decided to begin actively recruiting local Christians into the Israeli army. The move comes after years of encouragement by the Nazareth-based Israeli Christian Recruitment Forum for young Arabic-speaking Christians to voluntarily join the IDF so as to better integrate into Israeli society.

I have reported for several months about the changing attitude toward their Christian citizens. Where they were lumped in with Palestinian Muslims, there is a major change. The Christians themselves are asking to join the IDF and serve in other areas. They trace their roots back to early Christians hundreds of years before Islam.

The Israeli government is taking notice and taking action.

Knesset: Christians Are No Longer ‘Arabs’ Israel’s Knesset on Monday signed into law a bill that legally distinguishes between local Christians and the bulk of the Arabic-speaking population, which is primarily Muslim. The stated goal of the law is to boost Christian employment rights by recognizing them as an independent minority, and thereby granting them separate representation on local councils and employment committees. Israel Today 2-26-14

As a Christian Zionist, I am especially blessed to see this development. I see this as a first step that will lead to a great prophetic fulfillment. The time is coming when the middle wall that separates Jews and Christians, “the People of the Book,” will disappear. Jews and Christians will agree on the true Messiah and will rejoice together.

Notice the past tense: “you, once Gentiles”. I consider myself a former Gentile, I grafted into the people of Yehovah. If a Hindu accepts Jesus as the Messiah, he is a former Hindu. If a Muslim believes in Jesus as the Messiah and Son of God (Yehovah), he is a former Muslim. I used to be a Gentile, alienated from God and living in my own selfish rebellion, but now I am adopted into the family of the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. I am a former Gentile. Hallelujah!
