Topic #1 Five In Israeli Family Murdered In Their Beds
Within 24 hours of the atrocity Israel announced it would build 500 new homes in Judea and Samaria, 100 homes for each of the 5 victims. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu soberly declared: “They murder, we build.”
Lost in the understandable worldwide coverage of the unfolding tragedy in Japan was the terrorist massacre in Israel of five family members. The most barbaric of attacks left a 3 month old infant with her throat slashed, her 5 year old brother stabbed through the heart. Her 11 year old brother and her mother and father also lay brutally butchered in their sleep in their own home, all with their throats slashed. Insane love of violence is erupting from the hearts of wicked men.
Arab residents of Hamas ruled Gaza celebrated with joy by handing out candies in the streets. The Palestinian Authority and world media referred to them not as Israeli’s but as “settlers” the murderers were only “alleged” terrorists
I ask you, what decision was made by an infant to “settle” anywhere? Israel for the first time released pictures of a terrorist attack with the slim hope that the world would wake up to the nature of those who would wipe Israel off the map. Remember that the Hebrew meaning of “hamas” is “violence”. (Read my earlier blog on the same theme.)
Topic #2 Uncanny Timing of Japan Tragedy
One year earlier to the very day, of the 9.1 earthquake and tsunami, Japan made this declaration: “The Government of Japan deplores the decisions of the Government of Israel to give permission for the construction of 1,600 housing units in East Jerusalem in addition to 112 units in West Bank,” (Japan Ministry of Foreign Affairs March 11, 2010).
God says those who bless Israel will be blessed and those who curse Israel will be cursed. After Japan “deplores” Israel building houses, many thousands of homes are destroyed in Japan. For the past year, Japan had increased its anti-Israel rhetoric. We should soberly consider the connection..
The foundations of law and order have collapsed. What can the righteous do? But Yehovah is in his holy Temple; Yehovah still rules from heaven. He watches everything closely, examining everyone on earth. Yehovah examines both the righteous and the wicked. He hates everyone who loves violence. He rains down blazing coals on the wicked, punishing them with burning sulfur and scorching winds. For Yehovah is righteous, and he loves justice. Those who do what is right will see his face. One thing He showed me was judgement increasing on our nation. There was a strong exhortation to respect one another and the priesthood of all believers, throughout the body of Christ. He warned me so clearly that I spoke of events in America, North Carolina and even “coming to a neighborhood near you.” Little did I know how real that would manifest on April 16. A tornado went right over my daughter’s house, but spared her home and family. Just a few blocks away several children died. Others of our close friends had major property damage but no injury.
The link to Israel is obvious, but not the only cause. Over 53 MILLION babies have now been aborted in the United States since 1973. Moral decadence exploded in the same period. Many more examples abound. So, what is our hope? Can we trust government? Can we trust media? Can we trust institutional religion? No, we really cannot. We can only call on the name of the living God, the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. Yehovah is His name and He sent His only begotten Son, Yeshua ben Yehovah to die for us (and rise from the dead) as the full penalty for our sins and for our sin nature. Through the blood of Jesus, we are holy. We are righteous. We are clean. We are forgiven! Hallelujah!
This means we are entering the season of the greatest ingathering for salvation in history. I had hoped that it would occur in a time of prosperity. Now I see that it comes because of judgements, through which God will show His mercy, and many will turn and live.
I have heard all about you, Yehovah. I am filled with awe by your amazing works. In this time of our deep need, help us again as you did in years gone by. And in your anger, remember your mercy. Habakkuk 3:2 NLT
Let us pray for mercy and the favor of the Almighty Creator God. He is our refuge and strength through His Holy Spirit and the Son of His love. We must now rise up and warn others to turn to the living God and live!
