What does it mean to Jewish American to immigrate to Israel. The Hebrew term is “aliyah” which means ascent or going up. In Biblical history Israelis went up to Jerusalem three times a year for the appointed times to meet with Yehovah. No matter where you lived in the country, you had to go up to Jerusalem because it is on a mountain ridge. Today the term is applied to those immigrating to the Glorious Land. Here is just a brief glimpse of the joy of those recently arriving. (Thanks to Israel Today.)
I was glad when they said to me, “Let us go into the house of Yehovah.” Our feet have been standing within your gates, O Jerusalem! Jerusalem is built as a city that is compact together, where the tribes go up, the tribes of Yehovah, to the Testimony of Israel, to give thanks to the name of Yehovah.Psalm 122:1-4
Next year in Jerusalem!
Pray for the peace of Jerusalem and pray for rain.
