Oldest Virus is Back!

VIRUS BACK

The ancient hatred is back. Anti-Semitism is the oldest virus afflicting the human race. It is the ultimate rebellion against Yehovah Himself. It is worse than any pandemic. The coordinated riots of college campuses are appropriating the oldest demonic spirit in history. No other vile deception has reappeared in every generation for some 4,000 years. The screaming students are almost completely ignorant of the actual Gaza situation. They are only parroting the talking (or yelling) points of their handlers. They are “useful idiots” on the payroll of very sinister Marxist and Muslim Jihadist forces, including foreign entities. They are applauded by our enemies from terrorists to Iran to Russia and China. Here is just one example from the Bible of a devastating judgement of God against an enemy of Israel referred to as Mt. Seir.

“Because you have had an ancient hatred, and have shed the blood of the children of Israel by the power of the sword at the time of their calamity, when their iniquity came to an end, therefore, as I live,” says the Lord Yehovah, “I will prepare you for blood, and blood shall pursue you; since you have not hated blood, therefore blood shall pursue you. Thus I will make Mount Seir most desolate, and cut off from it the one who leaves and the one who returns.”  Ezekiel 35:5-7

It is not a good idea to find yourself in opposition to the living God. People who yield to this ancient hatred leave reason behind and our driven by that demonic spirit. About five minutes ago it was a cardinal sin of the Left to be guilty of “cultural appropriation,” like wearing a Mexican sombrero if you are not Mexican. Now the rioters are all dressed like Arabs! We need to pray for our young people for deliverance and salvation. They claim to be on the right side of history, a term made popular by President Obama. Yet, they have literally taken a position that is exactly opposite of all of history. Every nation or empire that opposed God’s plan for Israel has disappeared and Israel remains.

House Speaker Mike Johnson urges Biden to see antisemitism ‘virus’ at Columbia after GOP visit Johnson revealed his plea to Biden as House Republicans announced a chamber-wide crackdown on antisemitism headed up by committee leaders, declaring that they would hold university leaders, administration officials and donors accountable for a surge in public Jew-hatred on campus.

One further observation from history regarding President Biden blocking arms shipments for Israel needed for Rafah that were voted by Congress. Passover just ended and I am reminded of the end of Pharaoh. For five plagues he hardened his own heart to Yehovah’s demand through Moses; but after the sixth plague God hardened Pharaoh’s heart! That was it, the end of Pharaoh. My point is that Biden has defied Scripture guard rails so many times, especially about Israel, I wonder if severe judgement is close.

Pray for Jerusalem and America! Pray courage for Israel’s leaders and protection for the troops.

Where Are the Bodies?

11 01 2024

trial

Israel is standing trial today for genocide in the International Court of Justice in the Netherlands. Hamas claims Israel has killed 20,000 Gazan civilians. The irony is breathtaking. The stated written goal of Hamas in their Charter is exactly the genocide of all Jews worldwide.

Where Are the Bodies? If you have been following Israel and Gaza, you know that Hamas is adept at producing many videos claiming various “crimes” of Israel. most of which were proven false. They like to stage videos, so much so that it is referred to as “Pallywood,” a play on Palestinian Hollywood. Several times they show a video of a “martyr” who gets off the stretcher and walks away or moves under the sheet. Now, add to that, the October 7th terrorists who wore GoPro cameras actually filming their own war crimes. If they have videos of everything that moves, where are the videos of 20,000 “innocent civilians” murdered by Israel? Where are the bodies? Don’t you think they would publicize such a massive genocide? Have innocent civilians died? Of course, but not as claimed. Israel is the most moral army in history. They actually announce the specific target, even the single building, so civilians have time to escape. The IDF does this with leaflets, cell phone calls, and media.

The irony is breathtaking. The stated written goal of Hamas in their Charter is exactly the genocide of all Jews worldwide. South Africa is making the charges on behalf of Hamas, which is also bitterly ironic, given their apartheid past. Hamas did indeed succeed in their October 7th genocide of 1,200 civilians in Israel. Their leaders have openly stated that it was just the first attack of many: “over and over again” until Israel is gone. Their evil is so shockingly deep that normal people just can’t believe they really mean it. However, it is not the first time we have seen such depraved commitment to pure evil. The Nazis come to mind, as well as Rwanda, and even currently in the slaughter of Nigerian Christians by Muslim jihadists. But the Biblical example is the best definition of this “beyond the pale” EVIL.

“Then Yehovah saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every intent of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.”  Genesis 6:5

Notice the superlatives in this one verse. You could call it exponential evil. When the Holy Spirit inspires a description with such repetitive emphasis we should pay sober attention.

  1. Wickedness of man.
  2. Was great.
  3. Every intent.
  4. Was only evil.
  5. CONTINUALLY!

This is the proper description of the demonic spirit of Hamas. How can nations and yes, even college students in America, be so deceived? We are in a new season of prophetic timing and fulfillment. There will be ups and downs but we are in for rough times ahead.

“See that you do not refuse Him who speaks. For if they did not escape who refused Him who spoke on earth, much more shall we not escape if we turn away from Him who speaks from heaven, whose voice then shook the earth; but now He has promised, saying, “Yet once more I shake not only the earth, but also heaven.” Now this, “Yet once more,” indicates the removal of those things that are being shaken, as of things that are made, that the things which cannot be shaken may remain. Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom which cannot be shaken, let us have grace, by which we may serve God acceptably with reverence and godly fear. For our God is a consuming fire.”  Hebrews 12:25-29

“These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.”  Jesus, in John16:33

If I Perish, I Perish

Purim around the world this year is sundown Thursday to sundown Friday. Jews and Christians remember the great courage of Esther, Queen of Persia, who laid it all on the line to stand for the Jews. Her Jewish family and all the Jews of the Persian Empire were to be killed. That included twenty provinces, the whole know world at the time. That genocide was stopped by Esther’s great personal risk. The King did not even know she was Jewish. She was only one person, but was placed in position to save a nation. Please read the Book of Esther this week. It is one of the greatest stories of the Bible. Here is the short passage telling of her decision.

And Mordecai told them to answer Esther: “Do not think in your heart that you will escape in the king’s palace any more than all the other Jews. For if you remain completely silent at this time, relief and deliverance will arise for the Jews from another place, but you and your father’s house will perish. Yet who knows whether you have come to the kingdom for such a time as this?” Then Esther told them to reply to Mordecai: “Go, gather all the Jews who are present in Shushan, and fast for me; neither eat nor drink for three days, night or day. My maids and I will fast likewise. And so I will go to the king, which is against the law; and if I perish, I perish!” Esther 4:13-16

Four Take-aways From Esther’s Courage:

  1. She came to the kingdom for “such a time as this.”
  2. The Jews fasted three days and nights.
  3. It was against the law for her to approach the king.
  4. Esther was willing to die if necessary.

What is the timing of your life right now? Is there a cause greater than your appetite? Is your obedience to Yehovah God higher than all else? Are you willing to lay down your life, if necessary, for God’s purpose? We are living in grand and awful times. We must listen to the Holy Spirit now more than ever. The Messiah Yeshua is asking us for full attention and obedience in these perilous times. As for me and my house, we will serve Yehovah.

Esther’s enemy was Haman, an Amalekite, a people who were perennial enemies of God’s people. The demonic spirit of  Amalek is still after the Jews today. But, that is a story for another time. Read Esther this week for a word for our times.

Finally, I noticed that the great movie about Esther, ONE NIGHT WITH THE KING, is on TBN television this Friday night at both 8pm and 10pm Eastern. Enjoy! It is well worth a couple hours. ONE NIGHT WITH THE KING is also available on livestream from PureFlix.

Pray for the peace of Jerusalem and pray for rain in Israel.

Holocaust!

1 05 2019

Holocaust day 2018

POWERFUL: Holocaust Remembrance Day Siren Sounds Throughout Israel People stand still on the Ayalon highway in Tel Aviv as a two-minute siren is sounded across Israel to mark Holocaust Remembrance Day (Miriam Alster/Flash90)

Today is Holocaust Remembrance Day. Seventy-four years ago the world began waking up to the hints of the Nazi genocide of six million Jews and five million Christians and others. Only in the following years after World War II  was the full magnitude of horror exposed. Yet, today two-thirds of millennials don’t know what Auschwitz was. (It was the largest Nazi concentration camp that killed over 1.1 million Jews.) Twenty-two per cent said they never heard of the Holocaust! No wonder America is losing control of our youth.

The other problem is that few actual survivors of the Holocaust are still alive to tell about it. The ignorance of such a cataclysmic event will catch up with us sooner or later. There is a resonance to the saying: “Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it.” George Santayana

My attempt today is to connect prophecy with history. Please take a few minutes and just read Psalm 102, which I call “The Holocaust Psalm.” Just read, at least the first ten verses, the graphic portrayal of that horrible tragedy.

But do not despair, because only three years later, Yehovah God resurrected Israel. He began the regathering of the people to the land with blessing, restoration and favor. This is exactly what was prophesied in verse 13:

You will arise and have mercy on Zion; for the time to favor her, yes, the set time, has come. Psalm 102:13

Continue reading to verse 18 which is miss-translated. The Hebrew text is not “a generation to come,” as though it was some nebulous future time. The literal rendering is “the last generation,” Wow! What a difference that makes. The whole prophetic Psalm was written, and expected to be understood, only after the Holocaust!

“This will be written for the last generation, that a people yet to be created may praise Yehovah. For He looked down from the height of His sanctuary; from heaven Yehovah viewed the earth, to hear the groaning of the prisoner, to release those appointed to death, to declare the name of Yehovah in Zion, and His praise in Jerusalem, when the peoples are gathered together, and the kingdoms, to serve Yehovah.” Psalm 102:18-22

Pray for the peace of Jerusalem and pray for rain.

(Why  do I use God’s literal covenant Name: Yehovah? Here is a link to the best simple explanation I know, from my friend, Keith Johnson. Also, here is a link to my book which explains it in detail, The Hebrew God Who Has No Name.)

Compromise?

10 07 2018

Compromise

“I think you’re always going to have tension in the middle east when there’s people who want to kill the Jews and Jews who don’t want to be killed and neither side is willing to compromise.”

(The above quote is from Frank J. Fleming)

‘These things says the Amen, the Faithful and True Witness, the Beginning of the creation of God: “I know your works, that you are neither cold nor hot. I could wish you were cold or hot. So then, because you are lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will vomit you out of My mouth. Because you say, ‘I am rich, have become wealthy, and have need of nothing’—and do not know that you are wretched, miserable, poor, blind, and naked— I counsel you to buy from Me gold refined in the fire, that you may be rich; and white garments, that you may be clothed, that the shame of your nakedness may not be revealed; and anoint your eyes with eye salve, that you may see. As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten. Therefore be zealous and repent. Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me. To him who overcomes I will grant to sit with Me on My throne, as I also overcame and sat down with My Father on His throne. “He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.”  Revelation 3:14-22

American Jews: Wake Up!

5 11 2013

CFI So Abraham prayed to God Genesis 20.17This is one of those rare occasions when I reprint an entire article. This is the experience of a young Israeli, Hen Mazzig, as reported by the Times of Israel. Please take 5 minutes to understand this “first hand” antisemitism right here in America.

An Israeli Soldier to American Jews: Wake up!

As a young Israeli who had just completed five years of service in the IDF, I looked forward to my new job educating people in the Pacific Northwest about Israel. I was shocked, however, by the anti-Israel bigotry and hostility I encountered, especially in the greater Seattle area, Oregon, and Berkeley. I had been very liberal, a member of the leftist Zionist party, Meretz, but the anti-Semitism and hatred for Israel that I have seen in the U.S. has changed my outlook personally and politically.

As part of my work as an educator at StandWithUs, between January and May of this year, I  traveled to college campuses, high schools and churches, sharing the history of modern Israel.  I also shared personal stories about growing up in the Jewish state, and about my family. I always spoke about my military service as an officer in an IDF COGAT unit that attends to the needs of Palestinian civilians who are not involved in the conflict and promotes Palestinian civil society. Each time I would speak and take questions for an hour or more. I have shared my personal story with over 16,000 people at many, many college campuses and high schools, including UC Berkeley, Stanford, the University of Washington, Seattle University and many others. Many of those to whom I spoke were supportive, friendly, and open to hearing about my Israel. But, sadly, far too many were not.

When I served as a soldier in the West Bank, I got used to having ugly things said to me, but nothing prepared me for the misinformation, demonization of Israel, and the gut-wrenching, anti-Israel, anti-Semitic hostility expressed by many students, professors, church members, and even some high school students right here in the Pacific Northwest.

I was further shocked by how unaware the organized Jewish community is and how little they are actually doing to counter this rising anti-Semitism, which motivated me to write this article.

This new form of bigotry against Israel has been called the “new anti-Semitism,” with “Israel” replacing “Jew” in traditional anti-Semitic imagery and canards, singling out and discriminating against the Jewish state, and denying the Jewish people alone the right to self-determination. The new anti-Semitism is packaged in the Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions campaign (BDS), which claims to champion Palestinian rights though its real goal is to erode American support for Israel, discredit Jews who support Israel, and pave the way for eliminating the Jewish state. One of BDS’ central demands is the “complete right of return” for all the descendants of the original Palestinian refugees, subtle language that means the end of Israel as the Jewish homeland because it would turn Israel into a Palestinian-Arab majority state.

It is surprising that an extremist group like BDS is ever taken seriously, but BDS advocates have found receptive audiences in some circles. Their campaigns are well organized and in many cases, well financed. They have lobbied universities, corporations, food co-ops, churches, performing artists, labor unions, and other organizations to boycott Israel and companies that do business with Israel. But even if these groups don’t agree to treat Israel as a pariah state, the BDS activists manage to spread their anti-Israel misinformation, lies and prejudice simply by forcing a debate based on their false claims about Israel.

To give you a taste of the viciousness of the BDS attacks, let me cite just a few of the many shocking experiences I have had. At a BDS event in Portland, a professor from a Seattle university told the assembled crowd that the Jews of Israel have no national rights and should be forced out of the country. When I asked, “Where do you want them to go?” she calmly answered, “I don’t care. I don’t care if they don’t have any place else to go. They should not be there.” When I responded that she was calling for ethnic cleansing, both she and her supporters denied it. And during a presentation in Seattle, I spoke about my longing for peace between Israel and the Palestinians. When I was done, a woman in her 60’s stood up and yelled at me, “You are worse than the Nazis. You are just like the Nazi youth!” A number of times I was repeatedly accused of being a killer, though I have never hurt anyone in my life. On other occasions, anti-Israel activists called me a rapist. The claims go beyond being absurd – in one case, a professor asked me if I knew how many Palestinians have been raped by IDF forces. I answered that as far as I knew, none. She triumphantly responded that I was right, because, she said, “You IDF soldiers don’t rape Palestinians because Israelis are so racist and disgusted by them that you won’t touch them.”

Such irrational accusations are symptomatic of dangerous anti-Semitism. Yet, alarmingly, most mainstream American Jews are completely oblivious to this ugly movement and the threat it poses. They seem to be asleep, unaware that this anti-Jewish bigotry is peddled on campuses, by speakers in high schools, churches, and communities, and is often deceptively camouflaged in the rhetoric of human rights.

The American Jewish community and its leaders are not providing a united front to combat this latest threat. Unfortunately, this repeats a pattern of Jewish communal groups failing to unite in a timely way to counter threats against us individually and as a community.

Shockingly, a small but very vocal number of Jews actively support BDS. They often belong to organizations that prominently include “Jewish” in their names, like Jewish Voice for Peace, to give cover to BDS and the anti-Semitism that animates it. A question that we, as a Jewish community must ask ourselves, is whether it is ever appropriate to include and accept Jews who support BDS and directly or indirectly advocate the ultimate elimination of the Jewish State of Israel.

I think it is not.

My experiences in America have changed me. I never expected to encounter such hatred and lies. I never believed that such anti-Semitism still existed, especially in the U.S. I never knew that the battlefield was not just Gaza, the West Bank, and hostile Middle Eastern countries wanting to destroy Israel and kill our citizens and soldiers. It is also here in America, where a battle must be waged against prejudice and lies.

I implore American Jews: do more.

Israel cannot fight this big battle alone. If you are affiliated with a Jewish organization, let it know you want it to actively, openly and unequivocally oppose the BDS campaign and those who support it. Inform yourself, your friends and families, by visiting websites of organizations like StandWithUs, Jewish Virtual Library, AIPAC, AJC and others that will update you and provide information about BDS and anti-Semitism.

I urge the organized Jewish community and its members to wake up and stand up for the Jewish state of Israel, and for all it represents, and for all it works to achieve.
