Elisha Vision – Commentary

Last week I was walking the streets of Jerusalem (with 34 of my closest friends). The joy of seeing God’s historic promises fulfilled right before my eyes was overwhelming. When I was two years old there was no country of Israel, but in 1948 Israel was miraculously raised from the dead! God is blessing, restoring, forgiving, and showing heavenly favor to His beloved people.

“For Yehovah your God is bringing you into a good land, a land of brooks of water, of fountains and springs, that flow out of valleys and hills; a land of wheat and barley, of vines and fig trees and pomegranates, a land of olive oil and honey; a land in which you will eat bread without scarcity, in which you will lack nothing; a land whose stones are iron and out of whose hills you can dig copper. When you have eaten and are full, then you shall bless Yehovah your God for the good land which He has given you.”  Deuteronomy 8:7-10

Most people assume the honey mentioned here was honey from bees, but it was actually date honey. Date palms were everywhere as we drove around the Sea of Galilee, the Jordan Valley, and the Dead Sea. They were just like the picture. September is the time of the ripening harvest. They have even resurrected ancient date trees that are now producing fruit! Some seeds found at Qumran, near the Dead Sea, were over 2,000 years old and they have now sprouted and are producing delicious dates.

The miracle rebirth of Israel is seen throughout the land. And it is a sign that the life of Yehovah God in the hearts of His people will also sprout and grow life from Messiah Yeshua. Yehovah has the final say!

Pray for the peace of Jerusalem and rain as we enter the rainy season.
