The Gospel Has Wings

Kenya 2023

Back from two weeks of fruitful Kenya ministry. Yehovah God was with us. Sixteen team members from Grace Assembly Wake Forest led by Pastor John Thrift had wonderful unity while fanning out in small teams to speak to as many as 30,000 students in schools, with multiple thousands deciding to follow Jesus. These were then enrolled in follow-up discipleship with Christian teachers.

Also, ministry to widows was a highlight. On Wednesday, I shared a word to widows that they had a special ministry of intercession because God promised them He would hear their cry according to Exodus.

“You shall not afflict any widow or fatherless child. If you afflict them in any way, and they cry at all to Me, I will surely hear their cry;” Exodus 22:22-23

I challenged the widows to pray for Kenya, for the peace of Jerusalem, and that Kenya would move their Embassy to Jerusalem. We then distributed enough food for a month for a total of 82 widows and widowers. What a humbling privilege!

We now turn our attention to our Israel tour with 36 members in September. Prayers appreciated.

“If it had not been Yehovah who was on our side,” ​​Let Israel now say— “If it had not been Yehovah  who was on our side, ​​When men rose up against us, Then they would have swallowed us alive, ​​When their wrath was kindled against us;” Psalm 124:1-3

Kenya Mission Trip

Prayers appreciated for our two week mission to Kenya. I will be traveling with a group of 18 folks from Grace Assembly in Wake Forest, NC, led by Pastor John and Sherry Thrift. We will be ministering with Michael Masambu in the area of Bungoma in northwest Kenya. We will be in schools, churches, and various other venues.

I will speak in two churches on the two Sundays and also to pastors’ groups in two areas. In addition, we will have tent meetings every night. Thank you for your prayers.

One other praise report involves our September Israel Tour. I am thrilled to announce that Michael Masambu and his wife, Sera, will join us for the tour. It will be their very first visit to Israel and they will never be the same! We have received gifts for the land portion covering all of his and half of hers. We only need $500.00 for Sera’s land portion. Also, I am praying for additional gifts to cover their flights from Nairobi to Tel Aviv. Four Days, Nearly 40,000 Saved

After four days of Michael Masambu’s Matthew 10 Initiative, 40,000 Kenyan students have prayed for salvation through Jesus. This was in the region of Kitale, Kenya. Nearly 60 teams are in the field for two weeks speaking in every school in three counties. (Kenya counties are like our states.) They expect to speak to 1.8 million students from elementary to university by the end of October. Michael and I spoke on the phone for 40 minutes with the first update. Please continue to pray for the goal of 600,000 saved.  If you missed the video explanation you can view it here.

He who goes out weeping, bearing the seed for sowing, shall come home with shouts of joy, bringing his sheaves with him. Psalm 126:6 ESV

Also, please pray that Michael’s visa will be approved. He has ministry itinerary in Idaho, Washington, Texas, Mississippi, and North Carolina for the month of November, ending here in the Raleigh area on December 5. God is bringing in a great harvest in Kenya and we pray for a great awakening here in the United States. The Lord showed me that the “woke” movement is a counterfeit of Yehovah’s awakening. Jesus said to them, “My food is to do the will of him who sent me and to accomplish his work. Do you not say, ‘There are yet four months, then comes the harvest’? Look, I tell you, lift up your eyes, and see that the fields are white for harvest. Already the one who reaps is receiving wages and gathering fruit for eternal life, so that sower and reaper may rejoice together.” John 4:34-36 ESV

Pray for Kenya to move their embassy to Jerusalem, pray for Jerusalem and pray for rain.

Kenya Awakening!

The Matthew 10 Initiative – Those who follow Elisha Vision know that we have a heart for Kenya and high esteem for Michael Masambu who is leading an amazing outreach this month in Kenya. This video describes the vision of presenting the Gospel to 1.8 million students this month in their own schools, followed by another next June in three more counties, and then once more in October 2022. We are praying for 600,000 decisions for Jesus this month. Every school will then follow up with discipleship ongoing. This is done with the blessing of the Kenyan government.

54 Years of Love

Doreen and I have been married 54 years. Is it okay that I feature our anniversary in my blog post today? We are getting ready for a private anniversary lunch at a favorite restaurant. We always say that we are blessed more than we deserve and we mean it. We fell in love at Berkshire Christian College in October 1964 and were married June 11, 1967. Throughout the years our love has been constant because it was based from the beginning on a simple covenant: “You and me and Jesus!” He has been the center all the way.

“submitting to one another in the fear of God.” Ephesians 5:21

We follow this verse in Ephesians to submit to each other before ever getting to the structural order of husband-wife-children. We submit to Jesus in each other. If Doreen hears from the Lord, that totally trumps my opinion on any matter, and vice versa. We chose over 56 years ago, on our third date, to live by that concept and we have been so blessed beyond words. Many start their teaching about marriage with the next verse about wife submitting to husband, but that will not work unless they previously submit to each other in Jesus.

Our ministry has taken us to ten countries and many states. We have “family” all over the world, especially Kenya and Israel. We have been abundantly blessed with the treasure of three beautiful daughters who love Jesus. They have given us seven wonderful grandchildren who also follow Jesus. We thank God for our godly sons-in-law also.

This is not to say we have not had trials and some hard times, but that our heavenly Father has always been with us. One of our biggest regrets is that we have not been able to impart this marriage key to everyone more effectively. We certainly give Yehovah God all the glory for our love, and we look forward to the years ahead. Our times are in His hands.

Masambu Biography Launched!

Living Water Ranch in Challis, Idaho was the location of our book launch for THE SWAHILI MAN, a Village Boy Who Became a Man of God for Kenya and the World. Michael Masambu appeared in live video on Saturday morning at the Arise and Shine Conference. He was not able to get his visa in time. He emphasized Isaiah’s prophecy in chapter 60 that “Arise and shine” was not a suggestion, but a command.

Arise, shine; for your light has come! And the glory of Yehovah is risen upon you… Then you shall see and become radiant, and your heart shall swell with joy; Isaiah 60:1,5a

It was my honor speak several times and to launch the book. The proceeds from the book will go to Michael’s ministry in Kenya. Kenya for Israel 2020

My third year speaking at the Kenya PDA (Purpose, Destiny, Achievement) Conference was virtual this year. Last year Doreen and I were honored to speak to nearly 5,000 young Kenyans in Bungoma County. It was limited to 100 in person this year because of the China virus. Yet, several speakers from the U.S. and India were able to speak on video in addition to Kenya church leaders in person, along with the founder, Michael Masambu.

Pastor Masambu started 20 years ago with 17 youth. The future is bright for Kenya with all the leaders that have been raised up already, and the best is yet to come. Please Pray for Michael as he continues to expand his vision for Jesus and the Kingdom of God for Kenya and the world. Michael and I are nearly finished with his biography that will be printed, Lord willing, in Kenya and in the States. The Mule on the Go!

Michael MKMToday is a little something different. I am working on writing a biography of my dear friend, Michael Masambu of Kenya. After the great Kenya youth conference headed by him in December, he was physically exhausted. I was honored to speak there to 4,800 youth and was likewise spent. So, today I’m sharing his Facebook comment, posted shortly after the meetings.

Owing to my background – my difficult childhood, I am this person that thinks I must work for the next meal. I worked for the next meal at a very tender age. I worked for the next meal under harsh conditions. I worked for my notebook, for my pensil and for my pen 🖋. I could only move to the next level if I worked. I ate because I had worked. I bought a shirt because I worked for it. My parents didn’t provide much because dad was too old and mom was too poor and over burdened. I worked to pay for my High School and College. I worked as a carpenter. I made beds, I made chairs, I made all manner of furniture. I overworked! I hurt my chest.

I am a pathfinder. I am a ground breaker. This is what life has given me. Today I realize things changed the day He became my Dad. He doesn’t grow old. He is the same Yesterday today and forever. He budgets for His kids. I am His Kid. If His Kid, then all my needs are made! What I have today came from him. What I need tomorrow will come from Him. It is my duty to be found by Him. He is Elshadai! He is Yehovah Yireh! Learn to trust him. Being a mule on the go always is denying that He cares.Yet He truly cares! Rest. Wait upon him. Those who wait upon the Lord shall be Strengthened. Hallelujah. Free at last! Free at last! MKM

I thank God for Michael and his dear wife, Sarah. Let’s pray for them as they continue in the Father’s vineyard.

But those who wait on Yehovah shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint.  Isaiah 40:31

Kenya Loves Israel

Last year’s PDA Conference: Purpose Destiny Achievement

Doreen and I along with our friend, Patrick Kennedy, are flying out to Kenya in a few hours. It will be my honor to speak for three hours to 100 pastors in Nairobi this Friday. Later in the next week I am speaking to another 100 pastors in Bungoma Town. Both pastors’ meetings are on the subject of Kenya standing with Israel.

Speaking in a church each Sunday is also a blessing. Last year the Lord Jesus really joined us in the Holy Spirit with two church families. The main youth conference has 3,400 youth and young adults registered. Please pray for us that the Gospel of the Kingdom of God will touch many. Also, please pray that the flooding rains in Kenya would stop for the next two weeks during the conference. More than 65 died in floods and landslides last weekend.

My good friend Michael Masambu tells me that ancient Cush included part of Kenya, and that there are Cushites still living in northern Kenya. The nation is 80% Christian and has a record of standing with Israel at key times. Pray for Kenya!

​“And in that day there shall be a Root of Jesse, ​​Who shall stand as a banner to the people; ​​for the Gentiles shall seek Him, ​​and His resting place shall be glorious.” ​​It shall come to pass in that day ​​That the Lord shall set His hand again the second time to recover the remnant of His people who are left, from Assyria and Egypt, from Pathros and Cush,​From Elam and Shinar, from Hamath and the islands of the sea. ​​He will set up a banner for the nations, and will assemble the outcasts of Israel, and gather together the dispersed of Judah from the four corners of the earth. Prayer for Travel

Here is my travel update and request for prayer as I leave today to minister in Idaho, New Hampshire and Kenya. My prayer request is simple:

And for me, that utterance may be given to me, that I may open my mouth boldly to make known the mystery of the gospel, Ephesians 6:19

And pray for me, too. Ask God to give me the right words so I can boldly explain God’s mysterious plan that the Good News is for Jews and Gentiles alike. Ephesians 6:19 NLT

Notice that I pray as Paul did, not for boldness, but that utterance would be given by God. Anyone can be bold, but we need to hear from God so we speak the right words. God has opened doors for me to speak in seven of the next ten weeks, ending with two weeks in Kenya speaking to 3,000 high school and college age future leaders of Kenya. I have also been scheduled to speak to several dozen pastors in two weekends on the subject of Kenya standing with Israel. Finally, I will speak each Sunday in local churches.

This week is Sandpoint, Idaho, at River of Life Church, Saturday morning and evening. Cocollala Cowboy Church  Sunday morning, and Sandpoint Christian Center Wednesday night. The following weekend is Challis, Idaho at Living Waters Ranch. The third week is in Boise at a week long Feast of Tabernacles One New Man Conference in Meridian led by Brian Harrison (details: 208-899-0888).

Doreen and I will be in New England Oct 25-Nov 5 at Milton, NH the first weekend with Pastor Jim Weedon at Milton Christian Fellowship; and then with Pastor Henry Snyder at River Church in Conway, NH the second Sunday.

Doreen is also going to Kenya with me (along with Patrick Kennedy) for two weeks from Nov 27-Dec 11. Michael Masambu leads the Kenya Purpose, Destiny, Achievement Conference. Michael and I will also be together in Challis and Boise. Praise God for His open doors. Your prayers are gratefully appreciated. Thank you.

Miracle in Your Mouth

“There’s a miracle in your mouth! Words are seeds. You are planting seeds when you speak. Don’t say something about the mountain, say something to the mountain!”

Our recent ministry in Kenya blessed Doreen and I in many ways. One of the best was the brief visit of Bishop Peter Susa, a genuine Kenyan father in the faith. He was an elderly man of God who has been preaching faith all of his life. The quote above was from his declaration. It was an honor to sit under his teaching. Here is just a short summary outline of his message.

So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. Romans 10:17

  1. You must hear the word of God.
  2. You must believe the word, not traditions.
  3. You must say what you believe. Speak the word. Words are seeds.
  4. You must receive. There’s a miracle in your mouth!

Heavenly Father, help us to walk in this revelation every moment of our lives. I pray blessing on Bishop Peter Susa and all of Kenya. Thank you Lord Yehovah and Yeshua your Son.

Kenya Final Update

It is great to be home again after wonderful ministry in Kenya to 2,600 young people at the 18th annual PDA Conference in Kimilili, Kenya near the Uganda border in western Kenya. PDA stand for Purpose-Destiny-Achievement. (Click here for videos.)

I spoke ten times, six at the conference and four in local churches. Future leaders of Kenya and missionaries to the nations were called from the youth there from high school, college and young professional. Many pastors also attended. Although most were committed believers, there were over 100 born again and filled with the Holy Spirit.

My goal of providing seed for the sowers, regarding God’s restoration of Israel and our call to stand with Israel as a blessing to the nations, was exceeded. Doreen and I were particularly blessed to connect and impart our Israel vision to three specific leaders from Nigeria, Ethiopia, and Uganda, who vowed to take the Israel “seed” to their respective nations. Several Kenyan pastors were inspired to visit Israel as soon as possible.

Psalm 102 (which I call the “Holocaust Psalm”), was the core of much of my teaching. Verse 13 was key as the point Yehovah turned the page for Israel from judgement to favor after 1,878 years from 70 AD to 1948. I pointed out that Israel never won a war during that severe period of judgement and scattering among the nations. But since 1948 they have not lost a war because God turned the page to restoration, blessing, regathering, rebuilding, and favor.

You will arise and have mercy on Zion;
For the time to favor her,
Yes, the set time, has come. Psalm 102:13

Repent therefore and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, so that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord, and that He may send Jesus Christ, who was preached to you before, whom heaven must receive until the times of restoration of all things, which God has spoken by the mouth of all His holy prophets since the world began. Acts 3:19-21

Thank you for all who prayed for us and supported us for this amazing two weeks in Africa. May Yehovah God’s plan and purpose be fulfilled for each one of the blessed participants. Special thanks and honor to our host, Pastor Michael Masambu.

We leave tomorrow, Nov 29 for two weeks ministering in Kenya. You may be able to make out our picture on the left side of the above banner. Pastor Michael Masambu specifically requested that I speak in seven sessions on the covenant with Israel for all believers. There are expected to be 2,000 young future leaders of Africa at this conference. The ages include high school, college and young professionals from Kenya, Uganda, Nigeria, Ethiopia, Zimbabwe, and Tanzania.
