Who owns the Holy Land? Is it the Palestinians? Is it Israel? Is it the United Nations? Is it the Roman Catholic Church? OR, is it Yehovah God?
The earth is Yehovah’s, and everything in it. The world and all its people belong to Him. For He laid the earth’s foundation on the seas and built it on the ocean depths. Psalm 24:1-2 NLT
“He is the God who made the world and everything in it. Since He is Lord of heaven and earth, He doesn’t live in man-made temples, and human hands can’t serve His needs—for He has no needs. He himself gives life and breath to everything, and He satisfies every need. From one man He created all the nations throughout the whole earth. He decided beforehand when they should rise and fall, and He determined their boundaries. Acts 17:24-26 NLT
Now that we have made that clear, you can understand the outright blasphemy of the Palestinian leaders’ recent statements. Both President Abbas and his Minister of Culture claim they own the land because: “We are Canaanites!” If that is not bad enough, an Arab Minister of Knesset in Israel makes the same claim.
Tibi to Rivlin: We own this land – “We did not immigrate here, we were born here, we are a native population, we are not guests, we are the owners of this land: says Joint List MK Ahmed Tibi. INN
First, it is a lie that they are a native population. History is clear that they are Arabs who came to the land from Syria, Egypt and other Arab states in relatively recent centuries. The Jews trace there habitation at least 4,000 years.
Second, the Palestinians are proven by DNA to have no ancestry to the Canaanites or even to the Philistines (another bogus claim). They have never claimed Canaanite ancestry until the last few years for political leverage.
Which brings me to my final point. Why did the Canaanites get expelled from the land? Did God remove them from the land unfairly or unrighteously? The Bible states two reasons they lost the land. It was a combination of their complete wickedness and God’s oath to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob (who became Israel). God is quite clear about this point:
Because the entire land has become defiled, I am punishing the people who live there. I will cause the land to vomit them out. Leviticus 18:25 NLT
“After Yehovah your God has done this for you, don’t say in your hearts, ‘Yehovah has given us this land because we are such good people!’ No, it is because of the wickedness of the other nations that He is pushing them out of your way. It is not because you are so good or have such integrity that you are about to occupy their land. Yehovah your God will drive these nations out ahead of you only because of their wickedness, and to fulfill the oath He swore to your ancestors Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.” Deuteronomy 9:4-5 NLT
Pray for the peace of Jerusalem and pray for the coming seasonal rains.

(Why do I use God’s literal covenant Name: Yehovah? Here is a link to a simple explanation, from my friend, Keith Johnson. Also, I explain it in my book: The Hebrew God Who Has No Name.)
