Netanyahu Makes History

Look Who’s on the Cover of TIME Magazine:  Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has now surpassed David Ben-Gurion to become the longest-serving Prime Minister in Israel’s modern history. Netanyahu has already won five elections, and, facing a sixth, finds himself on the cover of the upcoming TIME Magazine.

“Bibi is preparing for yet another campaign, a September do-over election that will test yet again whether the Israel that has grown to resemble its Prime Minister—prosperous, powerful and resilient, yet insecure—still wants him,” reads the TIME article about Israel’s Prime Minister. Israel Today

Netanyahu officially makes Israeli history as longest-serving prime minister: As of Saturday, 69-year-old premier has served as nation’s leader for a total of 4,876 days. Times of Israel

Doreen and I were watching TV in 1982 when I first saw PM Netanyahu as a 33 year old young political attache at the Israeli Embassy interviewed by Ted Koppel of ABC’s Nightline. I told Doreen: “That man is going to be the Prime Minister of Israel.” He has now made history as the longest serving PM, surpassing founding father David ben Gurion, Israel’s first PM.

Two months from now he faces a new election that threatens Israel’s future. Every liberal opponent, media and massive money is set to defeat him. Will he win again? In my view, yes. Here is why. I simply believe he is God’s choice for Israel at this prophetic juncture of history. This is not a time for liberal political mush. He first gained attention in Israel for his strong opposition to the Oslo Accords that have proven to be a disaster. They were based on the failed concept of “land for peace” that only brought more Israeli deaths from terrorism that moved closer with every new concession of land.

The name Benjamin Netanyahu is a Biblical name. Benjamin means “son of my right hand” was the only son of Jacob named by his father. Netanyahu means “gift of Yehovah” and so he is to modern Israel.

We must continue to pray for him to fulfill God’s purpose. I do not believe God is done with him. The same applies to President Trump. If either man turns away from God’s plan, God will remove him.

Daniel answered and said: “Blessed be the name of God forever and ever, For wisdom and might are His. And He changes the times and the seasons; He removes kings and raises up kingsHe gives wisdom to the wise And knowledge to those who have understanding. He reveals deep and secret things; He knows what is in the darkness, And light dwells with Him.” Daniel 2:20-22
