Opinion | Who Is a Bigger Threat to His Democracy: Bibi or Trump … by Thomas L. Friedman, NY Times
Notice that you only have two choices; and either one is a condemnation. As the Dry Bones cartoon above observes, Thomas Friedman advises to vote against Netanyahu. The Dry Bones punchline is great. Voting for Bibi may drive some voters away, but for the Times, it is not a drive, just a short walk. The Left has been trying to defeat Bibi Netanyahu for years. This link recounts the Obama people working against Bibi in 2015.
Now, check out the biased CNN Headline from today (July 15, 2019) about Trump:
The President defends his racist attacks on US congresswomen
Again, this is opinion, not news. This is shameless bias. Nothing is left to the interpretation, the condemnation is in the headline. Trump defends his “racist attacks.” Just so you get it, his tweets were both “attacks” and “racist.” And the Congresswomen’s remarks are not the issue. He is not commenting on their content, oh no, he is attacking them as people.
Well, you see this all the time, I just share a couple examples to make a point. We must all consider the actual words we hear and see. Don’t let it wash over you uncritically. Pay attention. There is bias everywhere. I also am biased. The key is to discern the bias of your sources. It helps to hear the real message behind the words.
Then you will again see the difference between the righteous and the wicked, between those who serve God and those who do not. Malachi 3:18 NLT
Hypocrites! You can discern the face of the sky and of the earth, but how is it you do not discern this time? Luke 12:56 NKJ
But solid food belongs to those who are of full age, that is,those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil. Hebrews 5:14 NKJV
Pray for discernment. Pray for the peace of Jerusalem and pray for rain.
