One Million Migrants

Dry Bones America

There is a big difference between immigration and migration. Since I have written eight books and hundreds of blogs, I pay attention to words. Immigration is a legal process of a nation allowing people to move in and become citizens. Migration is an illegal swarming of people across the border uninvited.

Imagine if you had a guest room and invited someone to come live with you. You would explain the rules of the house: mealtimes, rest rooms, bedtime, shared costs, etc. That’s immigration.

Then imagine that 50 other people climb in the windows and just eat your food, trash your house and expect you to provide healthcare and give them money. That’s migration.

It is so wrong to call the illegal migrants on our southern border “immigrants.” Immigration is a legal process with predefined requirements that lead to the priceless reward of citizenship. It is hard and takes a long time. Those who steal across the border are defrauding the true immigrants.

“I tell you the truth, anyone who sneaks over the wall of a sheepfold, rather than going through the gate, must surely be a thief and a robber!” John 10:1 NLT

Are we generous or stingy with our citizenship? Well, each year we welcome one million legal immigrants! That is the very same number of illegal migrants coming through the windows. Yet, American patriots are accused of a lack of compassion. We simple want to establish and enforce some basic “house rules.”

Europe believes in open borders. How is that working out for them? Finally, let me remind you that national borders was actually God’s idea in the first place. He is a God of order and peace. Remember when the police used to be called “peace” officers? Their job was to maintain the civil order of our society and the rules of the house. Now they are cursed and threatened continually by the most violent of illegal migrants. Pray for good government.

Everyone must submit to governing authorities. For all authority comes from God, and those in positions of authority have been placed there by God. So anyone who rebels against authority is rebelling against what God has instituted, and they will be punished. For the authorities do not strike fear in people who are doing right, but in those who are doing wrong. Would you like to live without fear of the authorities? Do what is right, and they will honor you. The authorities are God’s servants, sent for your good. Romans 13:1-4a NLT

Pray for the United States. Pray for the peace of Jerusalem and pray for rain.
