Today I offer a fun diversion from politics and disasters, for your dining pleasure.

Printer, can you please make me a low-fat burger with fries? The Times of Israel

The technology relies on two basic elements: cartridges containing the meal’s ingredients — in powder or solution form —  and hardware that applies heat and shapes the matter. The cartridges contain crystalline nano-cellulose as a core element, along with proteins, carbohydrates, fat, antioxidants and vitamins. Following individualized specs provided by the consumer on a 3D printer, the technology applies localized heat and shapes the raw material through infrared lasers. 

Created through extraction from cellulose, the most abundant biomaterial on earth, nano-cellulose has a variety of technological and biomedical applications and is an expanding global market. Unlike starch — which is commonly used in food to “bind” meals together – nano-cellulose has no calories and is easily degradable by the body’s enzymes.

The above quote is from a fascinating article from The Times of Israel announcing the combination of 3D printing technology with actual nutritional food ingredients. It will print out real food. The concept was first popularized in the public’s imagination in the Star Trek TV series, The Next Generation,  around 1987.

In Star Trek a replicator is a machine capable of creating (and recycling) objects. Replicators were originally seen used to synthesize meals on demand, but in later series they took on many other uses.Wikipedia

So, what has this to do in a blog about Israel and Christian Zionism? Well, I am a CZ and I love Israel, and I love food. Mainly, it is just a fun story. Even Jesus (Yeshua) enjoyed lighter moments, even more than His disciples, as revealed in this verse:

“We don’t want peace.”

The Palestinian Authority repeatedly lies, as this quickly deleted tweet reveals: “Our goal is the end of Israel. … We don’t want peace. We want war and victory.” This was not Hamas or Hezbollah or ISIS, this was the PA. Yet, the media never reports the lies. They stick with the propaganda narrative of the Palestinians as victims of those nasty Israelis. The quote in the above picture from Abbas is a prime example. No Jews in a Palestinian State? Here is just a short commentary on media bias toward Israel.

The Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) — an umbrella organization for Palestinian groups headed by Palestinian Authority (PA) President and Fatah leader Mahmoud Abbas — recently tweeted: “Our goal is the end of Israel. … We don’t want peace. We want war and victory.” 

The media, however, consistently refuses to detail the track record of Palestinian terrorism, murder, incitement and rejectionism. Although the AFP detailed al-Maliki’s 2016 statement, for example, many other news outlets — including The Washington Post and USA Today, failed to report them. 

In another example, Israeli-Arab journalist Khaled Abu Toameh highlighted a recent statement by Abbas’ deputy, Mahmoud al-Aloul, who said that Fatah doesn’t recognize Israel — a direct violation of the Oslo accords.

As CAMERA has frequently pointed out, al-Aloul is an unrepentant terrorist, also known as Abu Jihad. His February 2017 appointment to be Abbas’ number two was similarly ignored by many in the Western press.

Through their comments and actions, prominent Palestinian officials are violating Oslo on a daily basis — and blatantly calling for the destruction of Israel. And the media can’t be troubled to report on it. The Algemeiner

CAMERA is especially valuable as a site that not only exposes the media mistakes and lies about Israel, but they tirelessly work media to retract the errors. Trump 8 / Media 0

Trump at Value Voters Summit 2017

If you are keeping score, this week it was President Trump with eight wins and the media with zero. Hollywood was caught knee deep in scandals and infighting to further frustrate the left. But, let’s look at the wins for the Administration.

  1. Trump ended coal power plant restrictions (CPP)
  2. Stopped illegal subsidies in Obama Care
  3. Enacted market-based health insurance reforms
  4. Declined to certify Iran deal
  5. Exited UNESCO over anti-Semitism
  6. Welcomed Pakistan freed hostages
  7. Goodell backed down on the National Football League anthem fight.
  8. Confirmed that the Department of Defense (DOD) severed all ties with the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC), scrubbing SPLC training from DOD manuals.

Not a bad week for the good guys. God really answered the intercessors in DC last week at Rise Up/The Call at the Mall. We must keep praying for our government with the same passion with which we pray for Israel. Here is a great intercessors site: Capital Hill Prayer Partners 

In addition, President Trump told the Value Voters Summit that “We must worship God, not government.”

Remember to keep praying for abundant rains to break the drought in northern Israel and fill up the Sea of Galilee.

Let Israel Rains Begin

Thirsty Sea of Galilee sinking toward lowest level ever recorded – Days before tens of thousands of Israelis descend on the Sea of Galilee for the Sukkot holiday, the Water Authority warned that the freshwater lake is at dangerously low levels and expected to reach “the lowest level ever recorded.”

 

The Lord woke me early Monday morning and led me to pray for rain for Israel. Later Monday, my friend Rob Brown, shared the news from Israel of a surprising early rainstorm. It was an answer to my prayers (and prayers of many others, I am sure). I was elated to be used so directly in intercession. It encouraged me to pray for abundant rains to come and refill the Sea of Galilee. Please let it be a word for you as well to pick up the burden to break the drought in Israel.

Ask Yehovah for rain in the time of the latter rain.
Yehovah will make flashing clouds;
He will give them showers of rain,
Grass in the field for everyone. Zechariah 10:1

You Have An Appointment with God

We have now entered the final Fall feast, the Feast of Tabernacles. This is the seventh feast and is calling all Jews and also Christians (which I like to call former Gentiles). Most people don’t know that the word “feast” is a wrong translation. The Hebrew word used means “appointment”. It makes a big difference to change from a big party, to an actual appointment with Yehovah.

These seven appointments are listed in Leviticus 23. There are really eight, if you include the Sabbath Day, designed to give God’s creation a day to rest and hang out with Him. Here is a quick outline of the seven appointments. (Here is a link to my radio interview where I spend 10 minutes on each appointment: Radio link ). The first four have already been fulfilled in the ministry of Messiah Yeshua (Jesus).

  1. Passover/Pesach – blood of lamb on doorpost/Jesus Lamb of God.
  2. Unleavened Bread- no leaven symbolizing sin/Jesus was sinless.
  3. Firstfruits – celebrates the early harvest of wheat/Jesus raised from the dead.
  4. Pentecost/Shavuot – celebrates summer harvest with leavened bread/Jesus body of redeemed sinners.
  5. Trumpets/Yom Teruah – celebrates the end of harvest/Jesus Second Coming!
  6. Atonement/Yom Kippur – Day of repentance/Jesus pronounces us clean.
  7. Tabernacles/Sukkot – Looking back to tabernacle in the wilderness/Looking forward to our eternal dwelling place with our Father Yehovah and Son, Yeshua ben Yehovah.

“In addition to the Sabbath, these are Yehovah’s appointed festivals, the official days for holy assembly that are to be celebrated at their proper times each year.” Leviticus 23:4 NLT

Vicious Violence in Vegas

The first lady & Pres. Trump on the south lawn of the White House for the moment of silence.

What a month! Three hurricanes and now this vicious violence in Vegas. Is there anything in the Bible that speaks to all this? Yes, indeed. Take a look at this:

But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come: For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, despisers of good, traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, having a form of godliness but denying its power. And from such people turn away!

Yes, and all who desire to live godly in Christ Jesus will suffer persecution. But evil men and impostors will grow worse and worse, deceiving and being deceived. 2 Timothy 3:1-5,12-13

Are all people basically good? I think not. Because of the fall of Adam we are all bent toward sin. It takes the supernatural mercy, grace and forgiveness of Yehovah God to turn things around for each of us. This “turning” is called repentance. Since Jesus, the Messiah, became God’s payment for our sin, we are free to live for God. Hallelujah!

My prayer for the grieving families in Vegas is that they would look up from the darkness of despair and find the Light of the World in Jesus. He is free to all who call on His Name, and He comforts all who mourn.
