“TODAY MAY GO DOWN AS ONE OF THE MOST IMPORTANT IN AMERICAN HISTORY.” An extraordinary event happened in Washington, DC last Friday while no one was watching. Representatives of nearly all native American nations gathered for one purpose in prayer led by Chief Dr. Negiel Big Pond. They were there to declare forgiveness to the United States of America for all the treaties broken by the US. If you don’t know the history, almost every treaty was broken. The US government has a miserable record toward the sovereign Indian nations.
Chiefs and leaders from 1,000 tribes met to simply forgive. The US did not ask for it. Indian leaders initiated it out of Christian love, as a way to remove America from the righteous consequences of broken governmental vows. This is is their statement:

NATIVE AMERICAN INDIAN TRIBES FORGIVING U.S.A. FOR EVERY BROKEN TREATY (a full report from Rick Joyner)
TODAY MAY GO DOWN AS ONE OF THE MOST IMPORTANT IN AMERICAN HISTORY. Very few may even know that anything special happened. Jesus even said that the kingdom came “without observation,” or unnoticed. Some of the greatest things happen that way, and only a very few who have their eyes open, and are looking in the right direction, see them. So what is happening today that is so special?
One Thousand North American Indian Tribes from the U.S. and Canada are sponsoring a special ceremony on the Mall in Washington to forgive the U.S. Government for all of its broken treaties. In Scripture, breaking a vow or treaty brings a curse on the land, and the U.S. Government broke every treaty it made with the Native American Tribes. Chief Negiel Bigpond, the primary coordinator for this event, told me that they were going to forgive the U.S. whether we asked for it or not, simply because they do not want our country to suffer the consequences of this any longer. This is one of the most noble acts of true Christian charity I have ever heard of by any people group.
Have we suffered because of the curse that comes when we break an agreement? We have suffered profoundly, and virtually every major crisis America is facing right now is a reflection of the crisis on that the Native Americans have endured on the reservations that were directly caused by the broken treaties. A couple of years ago Chief Bigpond shared about a ten minute address with a room full of high impact leaders and some world class thinkers, which he titled, “Welcome to the Reservation.” He connected all of the crises we had been discussing to what they faced on the reservations, and when he finished it shut down the meeting as no one else there wanted to speak after such a profound revelation, besides, we had possibly the most important answer to the crises.
This is very real. National injustices are a major issue we’re facing now whether we want to or not, and this is a big one. We will continue on the road to oblivion if we do not consequences of injustices that were sometimes done generations ago, but are still a festering, infected would that is poisoning the whole body.
I’ve known Negiel for many years, and I’ve never seen him ever display a victim mentality, or bitterness. I call him “the happiest Indian” and I think he may be. He’s a transcendent leader and thinker of such stature possibly because he does not waste his time on pettiness, and he so easily forgives. I once asked Chief Bigpond if he was offended by the Washington Redskins name, and his reply was, “Only when they play bad.” One thousand tribes are going to forgive us today simply because they don’t want us to suffer for wrongs done to them. Have you ever heard of anything so noble? How would our world change if we all started to think like that? ~ Rick Joyner
