Israel’s Army Needs God More Than Tanks

This amazing story is all over Israeli news services. For a high official in the Israel Defense Forces to declare the need for God is nothing short of a Divine move on his heart. May it spread to the entire army. My thanks to Barry Segal for bringing it to my attention. His news site is linked at the end of the story.

IDF DEPUTY CHIEF: ISRAEL’S ARMY NEEDS FAITH IN GOD MORE THAN TANKS: The events currently shaking the Arab world “were ordained from above” by a guiding hand, Israel Defense Forces Deputy Chief of Staff Yair Naveh said on Sunday. Naveh added the Israeli army needed faith in God now more than its supply of planes and tanks. Naveh called Israel an island of calm in the storm of the Middle East, turmoil that had not been foreseen by intelligence officials despite their good work. “But it was ordained from above,” he said, “and we don’t know where it will lead, but it’s clear to us that there is a hand from above.” (Ha’aretz)

“Pray this kind of faith and recognition of G-d’s hand over the affairs of Israel will grow and spread.” (Barry Segal (READ MORE)

Some trust in chariots and some in horses, but we trust in the name of Yehovah our God. They are brought to their knees and fall, but we rise up and stand firm (Psalm 20:7 ).

Woe to them that go down to Egypt for help; and stay on horses, and trust in chariots, because they are many; and in horsemen, because they are very strong; but they look not unto the Holy One of Israel, neither seek Yehovah! (Isaiah 31:1).

I would like to post this on my Facebook site but do not see any way to do that. Amazing answers to prayers for Israel and will continue to pray!

I am so blessed to be studying Isaiah in Bible Study at this crucial time. It gives me calm to know that Jesus loved Isaiah too. In Luke he picks up the scroll from Isaiah. What confidence we have by looking heavenward. Ps. 2: (idea paraphrased), the kings of the earth conspire, and God laughs.

May all of Israel recognize God’s love and provision for redemption.

[…] Psalm 83 lists each country by name. It includes every country that directly borders Israel. The resulting war will be impossible for Israel to win without supernatural intervention from God. Yet win they will and confound the earth.    (READ MORE) […]
