Grounding is a popular trend these days. The idea is that connecting barefoot to the earth releases an electrical charge that may benefit health. It is even a business selling items to “ground” you.
“Grounding, or earthing, is a practice that involves direct contact with the soil or using a device that creates a pathway between the body and the ground. It is based on the hypothesis that the earth has a negative electrical charge that can benefit the body by fighting free radicals.”Healthline
I am not endorsing grounding in dirt, but it illustrates a deeper point about truth. We are living in a prophetic time of wars and rumors of wars and need to be grounded on the rock of Divine truth. Pontius Pilate famously asked Jesus: “What is truth?”John 18:38 This followed Jesus’ statement in the previous verse: “Pilate therefore said to Him, “Are You a king then?” Jesus answered, “You say rightly that I am a king. For this cause I was born, and for this cause I have come into the world, that I should bear witness to the truth. Everyone who is of the truth hears My voice.”John 18:37 In another place Jesus declared: “Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.”John 14:6
Jesus is the way to the Father. He is our connection to Yehovah God. He is the living Word. He is the truth of Scripture embodied in living person. Truth is more than science, which helps us understand truth and reality. The Bible is the ultimate written revelation of truth.
Our modern world is flooded with opinion, but detached from truth. It is time to come back to the foundation of truth revealed by God Himself. People reject the simplicity of Scripture. They wander away, slip away, fall away, and even run away from God who is truth. Doesn’t it make sense that the Creator of the universe would have the most accurate explanation for everything? When you face fear or depression or confusion it is time to get grounded again in the truth! Return to the eternal source and fountain of truth, the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. Get grounded in His Word!
“Thus God, determining to show more abundantly to the heirs of promise the immutability of His counsel, confirmed it by an oath, that by two immutable things, in which it is impossible for God to lie, we might have strong consolation, who have fled for refuge to lay hold of the hope set before us. This hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and steadfast, and which enters the Presence behind the veil, where the forerunner has entered for us, even Jesus, having become High Priest forever according to the order of Melchizedek.”Hebrews 6:16-20
Pray for the peace of Jerusalem and pray for our leaders that they will hear from God, have courage, and do the right thing at the right time.
