Blind Samson Still Served God

Samson

Samson still defeated the Philistines though he was blind. Samson’s Hair is Growing is a great article from my Israeli friend Dominiquae Bierman. She is right that Israel was blind to intel before the October 7th massacre of 1,200 Israelis. Is there a message here? I believe it shows us that Yehovah God will accomplish His purpose even through our failures. Israel will conquer Gaza because God promised in Amos 1:6-7 that He will “not turn away” Gaza’s punishment. Both Israel and Samson deal with Gaza and terrorists.

Samson certainly sinned and lost his God given power, but after repentance God used him to finish the task. God’s purpose is larger than one individual. Likewise, Israel failed to heed the intel and was blinded to the pending attack. Was there moral failure or some disobedience to God involved? Given Israel’s openness to abortion, homosexuality, corruption, and other sins, God would be righteous to judge them. This is just as true in the United States. All have sinned and fall short of God’s glory. Yet, in His mercy and because He made eternal promises of restoration, God uses us in our weakness. Our job is to align with His plan.

I heard a word from the Lord last year to pray for today’s Samsons to repent and be restored. This is still true. I also heard clearly to pray for PM Netanyahu for courage and that we hold up his arms to see God’s victory. Always remember that it is God who wins the battle.

And He said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.  2 Corinthians 12:9

Our failures do not disqualify us but rather, in one way, they actually qualify us. We recognize our limits and fully lean on Jesus. After Jacob wrestled with the angel, he walked with a limp. Bible teacher, Ern Baxter, always said: “I don’t trust anyone who doesn’t walk with a limp.”

“For we are the circumcision, who worship God in the Spirit, rejoice in Christ Jesus, and have no confidence in the flesh,”  Philippians 3:3

Pray for the peace of Jerusalem and victory in all of God’s promises.

Good word. I pray for the prime minister as well. Seems the whole world, even some in Israel are against him – which says something doesn’t it? Hard thing the Lord has called him to but I think he has Hashem’s heart for His people. Maybe more of a Gideon.
