Joshua altar talisman-750x375

Why is this find so important? It is dated 1,200 BC at the time of Israel entering the Promised Land. It is evidence of the truth of the Biblical account of Joshua building an altar to Yehovah in the Land. The altar has been there, but this artifact confirms that it was Hebrew. This is another of many discoveries over recent years pointing to the faithful promises of God and the accuracy of the Bible.

Talisman inscribed with ancient Hebrew found at Joshua’s Altar Artifact, which researchers have dated to 1,200 BCE, bears an early Hebrew form of the letter “aleph” and a symbol that resembles a lotus flower. Head of the Samaria Regional Council Yossi Dagan said that the talisman was proof of the Jewish people’s deep connection to Samaria. “The new findings unearthed at Mount Ebal prove again and again the deep and inviolable connection the Jewish people have to Samaria and the entire Land of Israel. The discovery of Joshua’s Altar by the late archaeologist Professor Adam Zertal is one of the most important in the history of Land of Israel archaeology,” Dagan said.

Another recent find was of a 2,000 year old coin from around the time of the destruction of the Temple. Today, in the face of relentless lies against the very existence of ancient Israel, archaeology exposes the lies and gives living proof of Israel’s history.

Rare 2,000-Year-Old Coin Found in Israel Liel Krutokop, an 11-year-old girl from Petah Tikva, has found a silver shekel from the Second Temple period on the ‘Pilgrimage Road’ in the City of David, Jerusalem, Israel. “The silver coin weighs about 14 grams. On one side is an inscription of a cup with the caption ‘Israeli shekel’ and next to the cup are the letters ‘ש”ב’ — shorthand for ‘second year’ — the second year of the Great Revolt of the Jews against the Romans (67-68 CE),” said Dr. Ari Levy, director of the excavations from the Israel Antiquities Authority, and colleagues. “On the other side of the coin is an inscription identified as the headquarters of the High Priest, and next to it appears in ancient Hebrew script the words ‘Holy Jerusalem’.”

“Yehovah did not set His love on you nor choose you because you were more in number than any other people, for you were the least of all peoples; but because Yehovah loves you, and because He would keep the oath which He swore to your fathers, Yehovah has brought you out with a mighty hand, and redeemed you from the house of bondage, from the hand of Pharaoh king of Egypt. Therefore know that Yehovah your God, He is God, the faithful God who keeps covenant and mercy for a thousand generations with those who love Him and keep His commandments;” Deuteronomy 7:7-9

Pray for the peace of Jerusalem and thank Him for the snow and rain.

Why  do I use God’s literal covenant Name: Yehovah? Here is a link to the explanation in my book: The Hebrew God Who Has No Name. And here is a link to a great visual from my friend Keith Johnson.
