Ellis Island?

ellis-island

President Trump has paused US entry from seven countries. The sun will come up tomorrow. Here is my commentary on the “end of the world” protesters. This Executive Order does not come close to our historical norms for border control. Allow me to give a few talking points to counter the hysterical propaganda that is being propagated (Hmm, that is an interesting word) by the media. Their incorrect points get way too much attention. Please feel free to share this rebuttal.

Emily Litella is BackShe was a Saturday Night Live character played by Gilda Radner in the 70’s. Her bit was that she would be all excited denouncing something on the news, but then find out she completely misunderstood. She would then conclude with the classic line: “Nevermind!” We now have thousands of Emily Litellas marching on airports. Here is why they should “nevermind.”

  1. Not racism. Islam is not a race.
  2. Not all Muslims. Only seven of the 57 Muslim nations.
  3. Not only Muslims. All people from those countries.
  4. Not permanent. Paused for 120 days.
  5. Not unconstitutional. Perfectly legal action of the President.
  6. Not new. Presidents Obama and Carter blocked Iraq and Iran, respectively.
  7. Not unfair. Immigration is a privilege, not a right.
  8. Not immoral. Unlimited, un-vetted access would be immoral and dangerous.

Ellis Island History

Senator Shumer said the Statue of Liberty was weeping. Does anybody remember Ellis Island?

Ellis Island was the principal federal immigration station in the United States from 1892 to 1954. More than 12 million immigrants were processed here. Over time, the immigration station spread over 3 connected islands with numerous structures including a hospital and contagious disease wards. It is estimated that over 40 percent of all citizens can trace their ancestry to those who came through Ellis Island. In its early years, when the greatest number of immigrants entered the country, Ellis Island mirrored the nation’s generous attitude and open door policy. After passage of immigration laws in the 1920s, it was used more for “assembly, detainment, and deporting aliens,” and symbolized a closing door. Immigrants were required to pass a series of medical and legal inspections before they could enter America. The actual experience of going through inspection or detainment on Ellis Island was often nerve wracking. Those who did not pass these inspections were returned to their country of origin on the boats that brought them here. Even though only 2 percent of those coming to America were turned away at Ellis Island, that translated to over 250,000 people whose hopes and dreams turned to tears. Ellis Island

Twelve million were admitted. 250,000 were not. That was a vetting process. Normal immigration standards. Why such scandal now? There is something very nefarious behind the rent-a-mobs. President Obama, having returned to his community organizer roots, is now fanning the flames of discontent. He has not even been out of office for two weeks. What a difference from the attitude of President Bush who chose not to criticize his successor.

What Would Jesus SayI saw one sign that said Jesus would welcome them. We don’t have to guess, because He spoke directly on a similar question regarding taxes to Caesar. His answer?

But Jesus perceived their wickedness, and said, “Why do you test Me, you hypocrites? Show Me the tax money.” So they brought Him a denarius. And He said to them, “Whose image and inscription is this?” They said to Him, “Caesar’s.” And He said to them, “Render therefore to Caesar the things that are Caesar’s, and to God the things that are God’s.” Matthew 22:18-21

Therefore, Jesus would counsel to abide by the law of the land. Is it okay to protest? Of course it is. This is an amazing country with precious liberty. But the way to effect change is through the ballot box, not rebellion from authority. Another election is less than two years away.

Pray for our President, our country and always for the peace of Jerusalem.

Israel’s Legal Right to the Land

25 01 2017

ISRAEL FACT CHECK Israel is the legal owner of the land of Israel, including Judea and Samaria, the so-called West Bank. Lost in the propaganda barrage is the historical legal record, which has just been confirmed January 12, 2017 by a French Court. First mentioned in the Balfour Declaration of 1917, it became law at the San Remo Conference on April 25, 1920 (see blue links below). It was confirmed by the League of Nations and later by the United Nations. So why the confusion now?

Modern propaganda relies on the simple historical ignorance and definition of the term “Palestine.” Any Christian can whip out his Bible and point to the maps section where many Bibles show a map of “Palestine in the time of Christ.” The problem is that there was no Palestine then. The term was invented for the area by the Romans after the destruction of the Temple in 70 AD. They intentionally renamed Israel as Palestina in order to further humiliate and destroy the Jews. They invented the term, drawing from Israel’s historic enemies, the Philistines, with absolutely no connection to modern Palestinians, who are actually Arabs mainly from Syria and Egypt.

Furthermore, it was not a country, but under Roman rule. In fact, it never became a country later and there has never been a country called Palestine. The name was more of a description of that part of the Roman Empire. Later it became part of the Ottoman Empire for four hundred years before World War I, but never a country of itself. There is no Palestinian culture separate from Arabs. There is no separate Palestinian language or history. It was invented by PLO terrorist Yassar Arafat in the 1960’s as a means of replacing and destroying Israel.

They have said, “Come, and let us cut them off from being a nation, That the name of Israel may be remembered no more.” Psalm 83:4

For I do not desire, brethren, that you should be ignorant of this mystery, lest you should be wise in your own opinion, that blindness in part has happened to Israel until the fullness of the Gentiles has come in. Romans 11:25

Glory Hallelu-YAH!

20 01 2017

la-et-ms-trump-inaugural-concert-pg-015President Donald J. Trump was inaugurated today. Glory Hallelu-YAH! I say that not to honor him but to honor Yehovah God. The six prayers spoken by five Christian leaders and one Jewish Rabbi, were the most ever at a Presidential Inauguration.

Fireworks on the eve of the swearing-in were accompanied by a powerful chorale singing the Battle Hymn of the Republic. Here is a LINK to the video in case you missed it. Here are two of the stanzas that moved me to tears:

Mine eyes have seen the glory
of the coming of the lord,
He is trampling out the vintage
where the grapes of wrath are stored,
He hath loosed his fateful lightning
of His terrible swift sword,
His truth is marching on

Glory! Glory ! Hallelujah! Glory! Glory! Hallelujah
Glory! Glory ! Hallelujah! His truth is marching on

In the beauty of the lilies
Christ was born across the sea,
With a glory in his bosom
that transfigures you and me,
As He died to make men holy
let us live to make men free,
His truth is marching on

Glory! Glory ! Hallelujah! Glory! Glory! Hallelujah
Glory! Glory ! Hallelujah! His truth is marching on

The international (Hebrew) word of praise to the Almighty God, Hallelujah, contains the short form of God’s personal covenant name. Jah, or Yah, is short for Yehovah, which occurs 6,828 times in the Hebrew text of the Old Testament (Tanach). Few know His name because it is nearly always mistranslated as LORD (all caps). It is my sincere belief that Yehovah is restoring His name to His people, both Christians and Jews. Even the Talmud says it will be use again in the Messianic Age. My latest book, The Hebrew God Who Has No Name, explains the full story and the scriptural basis for its restoration in these days.

I was also moved to tears by the prayer of Rabbi Hier highlighting the importance of Jerusalem.

The first orthodox Rabbi to give benediction at a US presidential inauguration cited a psalm highlighting Jerusalem at Friday’s ceremony.

Rabbi Marvin Hier —  the 77-year-old founder and dean of the Los Angeles-based Simon Wiesenthal Center — said in his prayer for President Donald Trump: “Bless all of our allies around the world who share our beliefs, ‘By the rivers of Babylon, we wept as we remember Zion…If I forget you O Jerusalem, may my right hand forget its skill’ (Psalm 137).” Algemeiner.com

Pray for President Trump and pray for the peace of Jerusalem.

Fake Peace

13 01 2017

israel-plan-will-fail-failjan122017Fake news gets lots of headlines, but fake peace is more deadly. I’m talking about this Sunday’s Paris “Peace” Conference. Some 72 nations are meeting to find the solution to the “Israel Problem,” an echo of Hitler’s “solution to the Jewish problem.” Oh, and guess who is not invited? ISRAEL!

“Because, indeed, because they have seduced My people, saying, ‘Peace!’ when there is no peace—and one builds a wall, and they plaster it with untempered mortar say to those who plaster it with untempered mortar, that it will fall. There will be flooding rain, and you, O great hailstones, shall fall; and a stormy wind shall tear it down. Surely, when the wall has fallen, will it not be said to you, ‘Where is the mortar with which you plastered it?’ ”Ezekiel 13:10-12

Untempered mortar is mortar with not enough water. The spiritual meaning is a false peace conceived without the Holy Spirit.

The agreement they will reach has already been “leaked.” (We inhabit a devious world.) The concern in Israel is that it will be used in a UN resolution declaring a Palestinian state, with Obama’s last betrayal by abstention, before Trump can be sworn into office.

In rewriting history and making a mockery of justice and fairness, the United Nations has become a sick joke as it brazenly continues to back the Palestinian narrative that would drive Israel into the sea. Their spokesmen have been quoted over and again saying that they only want such a state as a launch pad for ridding the region of Jews altogether. Israel Today

The Nations Plot In Vain – Leaked Draft Of Paris Peace Conference Revealed

Why do the nations rage, and the people plot a vain thing? The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against Yehovah and against His Anointed, saying, “Let us break Their bonds in pieces and cast away Their cords from us.” He who sits in the heavens shall laugh; the Lord shall hold them in derision. Then He shall speak to them in His wrath, and distress them in His deep displeasure: “Yet I have set My King on My holy hill of Zion.”Psalm 2:1-6
“For behold, in those days and at that time, when I bring back the captives of Judah and Jerusalem, I will also gather all nations, and bring them down to the Valley of Jehoshaphat; and I will enter into judgment with them there on account of My people, My heritage Israel, whom they have scattered among the nations; they have also divided up My land.” Joel 3:1-2

You Must Accept Christendom?

9 01 2017

wireap_1bb763233f554e82aab3b64466e980cf

Let me draw a fine point. Must a Jew accept Christendom, or is it enough to accept Jesus/Yeshua as the Messiah of Israel? Growing numbers of Israelis are recognizing Yeshua as the Messiah and Son of God. Do they also have to accept all the traditions of ecclesiastical church history? I think not. Here is an excerpt from my latest book that explains my simple point. (The Hebrew God Who Has No Name – Chapter 8)

Restoration Timing?

Even the Second Coming, the climactic event of history, requires this timing. The Messiah clearly remains in Heaven until a certain time … and then He comes! He comes at the time of restoration of everything the holy prophets have said. Jesus cannot return until Yehovah’s Name is restored  according to Peter’s sermon in Acts 3.

that He may send Jesus Christ, who was preached to you before, whom heaven must receive until the times of restoration of all things, which God has spoken by the mouth of all His holy prophets since the world began. Acts 3:20-21

“O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, the one who kills the prophets and stones those who are sent to her! How often I wanted to gather your children together, as a hen gathers her chicks under her wings, but you were not willing! See! Your house is left to you desolate; for I say to you, you shall see Me no more till you say, ‘Blessed is He who comes in the name of Yehovah!’”  Matthew 23:37-39

Second Coming?

There is no question that the Second Coming is the crowning event of human history. We are close to the Messiah’s entrance. There is a classic joke about the Messiah finally appearing in Jerusalem and the Mayor goes out to meet Him. The Mayor says: “Welcome to Jerusalem. We have waited for you for so long, but I just have one question. Is this your first or second visit?”

The viewpoint of Jews continues to be a very serious issue. What do they think about the Messiah? How do they consider the Christian hope? Truly, a rapidly growing anticipation of the Messiah exists in Israel. Leading rabbis speak out that His coming is close. As the hope for a peace deal dies, more Israeli’s are considering their faith seriously, even if they are not religious. On a 2007 visit to Israel, I heard two prominent Israeli speakers touch the subject. One was in Jerusalem and one was in the Golan. Both made similar statements that shocked me by their public candor and position taken. Neither  man had acknowledged Jesus as the Messiah, but both believed in the Messiah, the Son of David. They both said that “when He comes, we will look at His hands and feet; and then we will all rejoice together”. The Golan speaker spoke those exact words to our Christian tour group. He flatly stated that the Holy Spirit (Ruach ha Kodesh) speaks to him in his heart. He said that he didn’t know “about those scholars down in Jerusalem with their stacks of books, but the Messiah is coming and I will look at His hands and feet, and then we will all dance together.”

When Will Jews See Jesus?

One of the most severe judgments of history was the removal of Israel from their land after rejecting the Messiah. Paul describes it as “the severity of God” in Romans 11:22. That event opened the way for the nations to be saved; but what about Israel? When will they see the Messiah?

What if I told you that it hinges on Jews changing one of their most common Scripture prayers? It is located in their Passover hymn (known to Jews as the Hallel – Psalms 113-118).

Blessed is he who comes in the name of Yehovah! We have blessed you from the house of Yehovah. Psalm 118:26

The problem is that the Jews do not pronounce the Name. They replace the word Yehovah with the word Lord, or in Hebrew; Adonai. Therefore, I submit that part of the scales falling off the eyes of the Jewish people definitely involves the revelation of the restoration and use of Yehovah’s Name!  Jesus even declared this directly in the Gospels. Although it is mistranslated LORD in our English Bibles, the Name of Yehovah was quoted by Yeshua Himself directly from Psalm 118:26.

Jesus said: for I say to you, you shall see Me no more till you say, “Blessed is He who comes in the name of Yehovah! Matthew 23:39

We know He said Yehovah, because this was a direct quote. Psalm 118 has the Name, Yehovah, no less than 28 times in the Hebrew text! So, does that really mean the Jews will begin using His Name again? Yes!

Note, that Jews will say: “Blessed is He” who comes in Yehovah’s Name. Jesus did that; and the Jews of His day did not say blessed is He, but killed Him for “blasphemy” for claiming the Name of Yehovah. We also may be rejected for speaking the Name, but proclaim it we must, as we stand with Israel and the Jewish people as they begin to profess: “Blessed is He who comes in the Name of Yehovah!”

Chief Rabbi: We have God

3 01 2017

chief-rabbi-sephardicLast week saw a United States double betrayal of Israel, with the UN abstention and the Kerry speech. Here is the response from the Israel’s Chief Rabbi Yitzhak Yosef:

Israel Chief Rabbi: We Don’t Need America, We Have God   Israel’s Sephardic chief rabbi, Yitzhak Yosef, gave a divine response to the Obama Administration’s gross betrayal of the Jewish state last week. “Sometimes, we need to be reminded from above that we can count on no one but our Father who art in heaven,” Yosef told a gathering at the Western Wall. “Even America… forsook us last week at the UN.”

There is a definite move toward God in Israel. Atheism is on the wane, many secular Israelis are turning back to the God of Israel, and some even to Yeshua as Messiah. Even the Orthodox leaders (as the Chief Rabbi above) are declaring God “our Father in heaven” is their foundation and refuge.

We rejoice together for our hope in God. Even here in America, despite the strongest efforts of the outgoing Administration, this nation is poised on the threshold of an historic third great awakening. As we move forward in prayer for 2017, we all should echo the call of the Rabbi to count on no man, but “our Father who art in heaven.”

Some trust in chariots, and some in horses; but we will remember the name of Yehovah our God. Psalm 20:7

Woe to those who go down to Egypt for help, and rely on horses, who trust in chariots because they are many, and in horsemen because they are very strong, but who do not look to the Holy One of Israel, nor seek Yehovah! Isaiah 31:1
