In my distress I cried to Yehovah, and He heard me. Deliver my soul, O Yehovah, from lying lips and from a deceitful tongue. What shall be given to you, or what shall be done to you, uou false tongue? My soul has dwelt too long with one who hates peace. I am for peace; but when I speak, they are for war. Psalm 120:1-3, 6-7
This Wednesday, the P5+1 convenes in Baghdad (the site demanded by Iran) for the second round of diplomatic talks with Iran. There is some dispute about their goal. Is it keep the nuclear bomb from Iran or is it to stop Israel from attacking Iran’s nuclear facilities?
The diplomatic “posturing” on both sides sounds a lot like the quote above from Psalm 120. To most of the world it is a political problem, but for Israel it is about their very survival as a people. Iran has repeatedly threatened to annihilate Israel and wipe them off the face of the map. Iran always offers verbal bait to the West for talks, but continues on relentlessly in pursuit of the bomb. The talks five weeks ago gave the West nothing, but gave Iran five more weeks without inspectors. Watch this week for the same old “bait and switch”.
Meanwhile, Israeli Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu summed up Israel’s position on Sunday at the ceremony on Ammunition Hill marking 45 years since the city’s unification:
We will protect Jerusalem, because Israel without Jerusalem is like a body without a heart, On this hill, 45 years ago, the united heart of our people began to beat again, with full power. Our heart will never be divided again. (Jerusalem Post)
Don’t be deceived over this week’s Iran talks. Pray that everything hidden will be revealed, as I wrote about in my May 5 commentary, The President’s Hat.
Pray for the peace of Jerusalem through Yeshua ben Yehovah!

So true, Les! It’s the ‘same old same old’ and the US falls for it every time!
Israel needs our prayers. Keep up the good work!
